as for algore...I agree with MarkO
"She could be lying, but our experience with him tells us he is for sure."

Janet

lost another post to purgatory, but just wanted to say I agree with MarkO about algore..."She could be lying, but our experience with him tells us he is for sure."

Charlie (Colorado)

Speaking of excitable lefties, let me just point out Chris Horner's piece today at PJM.

And watch for Clarice's piece on the Black and Skilling decisions.

Janet

Oops, sorry.

And finally, how did the judge keep a straight face when he read his obviously well-cosidered opinion?

Nothing fazes a British deadpan Judge. It must be those wigs and the woolsack.

What I love, Clarice is the paper's low key descriptions of some pretty far out stuff for 61 father of 3. It's a wonder he's still alive. What an idiot.

Lola doesn't get this, but wants to know if it's time to hide under the bed.

Charlie, you note that the moratorium judge received threats, too. I wanna know why the bomb company left tracks?

g, zerohedge is still not responding. What was the Soros article about?

and his wearing of "earth tones." No myth is too preposterous for the wingnuts, as long as it conforms to their ideology.

You never tire of making a complete ass out of yourself, no?

Here's a quote from Slate, a well-known propaganda sheet of the wingnutosphere, including the further Repub house organs Time and the WaPo:

Wolf has become an image consultant herself. As Time reported earlier this week, Vice President Al Gore paid Wolf thousands of dollars a month for advice on presentation, from the tones of his speeches to the color tones of his wardrobe. The Washington Post relayed that Wolf "has long contended that earth tones are more 'reassuring' to audiences' " and that she is "the person behind Gore's recent wardrobe change."

I suppose there's some Algore truth site, where things like this are "debunked" by his minions through extreme parsing of words which would make Orwell vomit; but for those of us that just like to ridicule that fat tub of mentally unstable goo whose life is going down in flames, what was quoted in 3 non-wingnutosphere sources will suffice.

RichatUF

Wasn't it Wolf that was trying to turn al-Gore into an "alpha male"?

It's really a lousy situation, trying to defund the tea parties, by deceitful measures,
it's a Futurama-coinage, btw the new episode
doesn't seem to be going anywhere

The other when I switch to indirect pronouns, refers to Palin

Here is a funny old video...LUN
Everything is amazing & nobody is happy.

After this administration dismantles civilization to cheering....we can think back on the good old days of light bulbs, gasoline powered cars, airplanes, toilets that flushed, plentiful food,.....

kim-

The Soros piece was a video of Hugh Hendry, manager of the Eclectica group of hedge funds, describing how he wants to take Soros down, reputation wise, and calls him a socialist because he wants a moat drawn around his assets.

An alternative to the ZH clip can be found, undramatically, here, or with less spin, here.

Being long the euro is a less than healthy strategy from here on out.

I'll be in touch, at minimum by e-mail.

Zerohedge link is now up and running. And Melinda helped bail me out--many thanks...

Their server must have hit "overload".

They get "waved" over periodically. Please keep in mind they are very agenda driven, and leave some details to the side of the road.

Use salt, and question everything there as you would someonee new here.

I trust some of the posts implicitly, others, not as much.

Just a word of caution.

Rob Crawford

Threats to the judge who threatens Soros' Petrobras investment, threats to the academic who threatens carbon traders booty. We're entering a new phase, here.

No, it's an old phase they keep returning to.

Ann Squaredance,

I suggest we boycott Milwaukee for stupidity. That ">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQp8M0bkarM&feature=player_embedded"> video you just linked is truly unbelievable.

daddy-

You do realize it's one of the few cities where the citizens are overwhelmed by the sheer number of voters.

It was going to be the second battleground of Bush v. Gore, BTW.

bunkerbuster

my point exactly. Gore never said he invented the Internet or that Love Story was about him, nor did he ever wear ``earth tones'' in an attempt to change his image. The cut'n'paste here only shows that he claimed to be involved with internet legislation from the outset, that CHARACTERS in Love Story were based on he and Tipper and that Slate cited the Wapo citing no one that someone ADVISED Gore on what to wear. Just further proof how low standards of evidence are for wingnuts...

bunkerbuster

But this is even more telling:
Daddy writes about Palin: ``Man, do they hate her.'' On a thread that describes Palin's Democratic counterpart as "creepy" "tubby" "obscene" "insane" and so on ad nauseum. Zero self-awareness. None whatsoever…

Danube of Thought

Isn'Isn'tt BuBu the dolt who complained (very loudly) for a while about Arizona's not having any laws about greedy employers hiring illegals?

(Sorry. Regulars will understand that trifling with abject fools is a guilty pleasure of mine. I think of it as a minor vice, and my wife is quite patient about it.)

Yeah he 'created' not 'invented' the internet and he was the inspiration for CHARACTERS in Love Story as opposed to having inspired the BOOK; yeah those are the makings of preposterous myths, unlike say, the mystery of what continent Afghanistan is on.
I've a sinking suspicion Strawman is no man at all but is a slightly chubby city councilwoman from Milwaukee.

Reminds me of Dennis Miller's defense of the war in Iraq: "Anyway, Bush never said we'd find nuclear weapons, he said we'd find nucular weapons".

Except Miller knows he's telling a joke.

bunkerbuster

no DoT, wrong again. Arizona has laws against employing illegal aliens, but they are choosing to focus enforcement efforts on illegal workers, since the Republican governor thinks the political benefits are bigger for cracking down on Mexicans than for actually dealing with the problems.
The resort to semantics here is a good example of the desperation for something desparaging to say. The question never was what "continent" Afghanistan's on, but, rather, whether it is in Asia and, more specifically, whether it's credible to describe the Taliban as "The terror of Asia" as Matt did. But hey, you guys got nothing but softballs, so that's what you throw. I'm sure if you had anything that hit harder to throw, you'd be throwin' it...

glasater

Thanks Melinda. Remember your words of caution in the past re ZH.

For Ann--someone pointed out in a tweet that Zero in this photo looks like he has horns:)

You lie.

Danube of Thought

Arizona has laws against employing illegal aliens, but they are choosing to focus enforcement efforts on illegal workers, since the Republican governor thinks the political benefits are bigger for cracking down on Mexicans than for actually dealing with the problems.

Actually, the Arizona law was enacted in 2007 (Arizona Legal Workers Act), and the federal government has sought to prevent its enforcement ever since. Once again, this fool is oblivious to actual facts.

Danube of Thought

May 29, 2010:

The Obama Administration on Friday urged the Supreme Court to review and set aside an Arizona law that sanctions employers who hire Illegal Immigrants, saying it would disrupt the "careful balance" that Congress struck in federal Immigration law.

Bubu will now explain to us why it is that the Obama administration is seeking to prevent the Republican governor of Arizona from enforcing the law against employers.

because Arizona doesn't border Asia, no doubt.

George Orwell would have loved living in these times. So much material.
