The NY Times plays one of our favorite games - Guess The Party:
Senator Riding in Car During What Witnesses Call Hit-Run
By ANAHAD O’CONNORA state senator running for New York attorney general was a passenger in a car involved Monday night in what witnesses called a hit-and-run accident.
The senator, Eric T. Schneiderman, who represents parts of Manhattan and the Bronx, was leaving the NY1 studio in Chelsea after taping an interview when his driver hit a parked minivan and left the scene. No injuries were reported.
A spokesman for Mr. Schneiderman said the car’s driver was a staff member, Rachel Kagan, 22, the niece of Elena Kagan, the Supreme Court nominee.
The damaged car’s owner, Melissa Rabinovich, an executive editor for NY1, said it had $3,000 in damage: a cracked bumper, a damaged back panel and a cracked left taillight. She filed a police report and called Mr. Schneiderman’s office on Tuesday after tracing the license plate, which a witness had noted.
“He said he was sorry for the bump to my car, and I told him it wasn’t a bump,” Ms. Rabinovich said. “He went on to explain to me that the female who was driving the car was crying and he was sorry. I told him I was crying when I saw the damage.
“I have three children under 7, including a 4-year-old who is severely disabled and doesn’t walk. This minivan is our lifeline of transportation for him.”
OK, this is so easy the omission is almost understandable - the NY Times is reporting on a state Senator from Manhattan being driven by the niece of Elena Kagan. I'll bet this is (a) a Democrat who (b) breathes oxygen.
By way of contrast, NBC News is no fun at all:
Candidate for New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has been involved in an apparent hit-and-run accident in Manhattan, according to a report.
The Democratic state senator, who represents parts of Manhattan and the Bronx, was in a car driven by a staff member when it hit a parked car Monday night and drove away, NY1 reports.
A Schneiderman spokesman told The New York Times Rachel Kagan, the 22-year-old niece of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, was behind the wheel of the car at the time of the accident.
OK, it's back to the crossword.
The crossword and the anagrams are all that I really miss of the NYT-Well also the fashion news. Where else can you see bottle caps and cellophane artfully draped and selling for big bucks?

Congressman Nadler is being accused by a DC cabdriver of refusing to pay for his ride.
Jane, my yahoo mail service is being redone for a few hours so I can't email this to you but the Washington Examiner details a lavish lifetime health care benefit to Berwick from the "non profit" that so richly has compensated him up to now.

Why did the NYT photoshop Ms. Hendricks?
Because they're Philistines.

So this would be the daughter of that brother the White House did not want interviewed as part of the process of learning about who Kagan is?

I see there are 2 brothers. Marc and Irving.
It is Marc who is the union activist and according to this article Elena has credited him as being the inspiration for her thesis on Socialism at Princeton.

Anybody but me notice that the NYT crossword compilers have--finally--cut back on the Obama clues?
Funny how I never saw a single GWB clue circa 2000-2008.

Thanks Clarice - I just finished blogging about what you sent me yesterday, and I'm still fuming about it. (I gave you a ht)

One bit of bright news--the Obamas are apparently not paying for the ugly stuff MO wears.

This is from Hot Air and it is priceless - the obituary of a former Reid supporter:
Her obituary, printed in Tuesday’s Review-Journal, reads in part, “We believe that Mom would say she was mortified to have taken a large role in the election of Harry Reid to U.S. Congress. Let the record show Charlotte was displeased with his work. Please, in lieu of flowers, vote for another more worthy candidate.”
If I die before 2012, I insist one of you write something about Obama and send it to Amy for my obit.

Kenken is the way to go, and you can download them for free on the NYT website. Do an 8X8 over lunch and you won't eat too fast.

OT, but the latest spy deported (number 12) worked at Microsoft and Drudge has a link that to Gertz talking about IC complaining about the haste of the bust/deportation hindered the investigation of one the Russian contacts, a Clinton fund raiser...
wonder how many Russian "illegals" are operating and who their "contacts" are...

Oh and another "contact" of the Russian's in Boston (like the one above, fundraiser Alan Patricof ) was Al Gore's national security adviser, Leon Fuerth

Yeah ts--I doubt we can prove our suspicions but the speed of the trade and the entire choreography are inviting suspicion.

I wonder how many "Russians" are working at Google? Starting with Sergey?
I really don't trust Google to cache all web content without having some of it just "disappear" that's incriminating to Leftists.
