Ig: your view assumes the two Muslims you name have some special sort of credibility or authority. But they don't. They're just two guys with an opinion. They disagree with my claim, they don't contradict it. I'm sure you understand the difference, even if you're not honest enough to acknowlege it.

"they're just two guys with an opinion"

If they were a couple of idiot trolls ... like you ... it might be considered a difference of opinion. But they're qualified enough to know what they're talking about and you're not and you don't ... so contradict is the proper term.

Wrong again, Boris. The two Muslims Ig mentions write: ``we wonder why its proponents don't build a monument to those who died in the attack?'' But in fact, as we know, the planned mosque facility includes exactly such a memorial. These two are obviously ignorant of the basic facts. Apparently, they find the inclusion of such a monument as persuasive evidence of non-provocation, so, were they to know the facts, would probably agree with me. If Ig really believed these two guys were credible judges Muslim, he'd explain why their books directly contradict his broader claims about the nature of Islam. Ig even refers to them as "rare birds,'' a hilarious, if tawdry and desperate, attempt to have it both ways…

Are you honest enough to acknowledge the following?
con·tra·dict [ kòntrə díkt ]
1.disagree with: to argue against the truth or correctness of somebody's statement or claim
2. Show to be wrong: to show that something is not true or that the opposite is true

When I posted a link to the two muslims who contradict your point by labeling the mosque as a provocation you said it had demonstrated your point. That is demonstrably false. Admit it and move on grasshopper.
School's out for tonight. Suggest you have your milk and cookies and then put your head down on your mat and have a nappy.

It really does feel like the Argument Clinic, after awhile, Ignatz, I mean this will cut it
at CNN, where they don't have any viewers so
tree falls, yadda yadda.

School's back in for a minute. Your original claim was no reasonable person of any faith could consider the mosque a provocation unless it was connected to terrorism. I countered that claim with two moslems who seem considerably more knowledgable than you about what its presence means and consider it a lightning rod of provocation regardless of any such connection. Which led to the real problem which was your bizarre insistence their disagreement with you supported your point. But just because they refute your claim, it does not logically follow that I must thereafter assign infallibility to them or make the Hadj.
And as an aside, I see you do endorse my usage of 'contradict' as disagreeing after all. Little by little perhaps you are learning, grasshopper.

--Ig even refers to them as "rare birds,'' a hilarious, if tawdry and desperate, attempt to have it both ways…--

They are rare birds. They're moderate muslims who do not appear wholly secularized. How is that having it both ways?
Now back to your cookies. If you ask mom to warm your milk it'll probably help you get to sleep easier. You've had a rough day.

Narciso, sometimes certain fish in certain barrels just beg to be shot.

"These two are obviously ignorant of the basic facts."

Maybe they don't consider a victory mosque with a crummy memorial plaque inside to be "a monument to those who died". I sure don't. Thus calling them "obviously ignorant" is an unwarranted personal attack apparently grounded in your discredited reading skills.

boris

As if JOM regulars need schoolding that a monument is not a memorial unlike the idiot troll bubu who doesn't know the difference.

The Wind & Sea was a "stumblebums" bar in a rapidly yuppifying part of town. Expensive restaurants, resort hotels and luxury retail shops were popping up all around the place, but for many a year, the Wind & Sea hung on as a locale for hard drinking, drug dealing and pimping undeterred by the gentrifying surroundings. I asked a couple of friends who worked on the police force why they couldn't shut the place down. They laughed and told me I must be joking. They get half their arrests either just outside the bar or based on information from their sources inside the bar. Cops generally aren't stupid and, these ones anyway, were about getting the job done, not about showboating and psychodrama…

boris

if you actually had any friends you wouldn't be here namecalling deriding and accusing people for ... imagined sub psychotic standards of "tolerance" ...

Poor Boris, always nipping at my heels. I guess I should appreciate it as the best he can do...
