Who believes the First Whiner actually said this?
In an authorized biography written by French journalists Michael Darmon and Yves Derai, Bruni recalls that during her March visit to the White House with French President Nicholas Sarkozy, she asked the first lady about her post.
“Don’t ask,” Obama said, according to Bruni. “It’s hell. I can’t stand it.”
This is totally in keeping with the attitude of the woman who never in her adult life had been proud of the US, not to mention the attitude of the woman who hit the campaign trail whining about the high cost of piano lessons for her daughters.
However! I am sure White House spinmeisters will restore the missing context, in which we will learn that Michelle's life is hell because she is so worried about disabled soldiers and unemployed workers, as well as Gitmo remaining open, and a lack of a public option in the health bill.
Clarice, you owe me a keyboard.

More fact-free speechifying from the inveterate liar himself.
I'd say the Democrats themselves have done a good job of destroying government by turning it from "of, by, and for" into a monstrous, inefficient, ineffective, costly, bloated horror. And their most recent efforts in the last couple of years go a long way toward turning government into something that ordinary citizens have reason to fear and despise.

It actually could be a good policy (the doubling part is unrealistic). A realistic policy would include: a domestic energy policy centered on production, a foreign policy directed to Europe and Asia defending themselves, eliminating ethanol subsidies specifically and agricultural tariffs generally, and using soft power to liberalize health care internationally(pharma and devices). That would be a policy that would drop our imports and expand our exports. Obama's plan is impoverishment.

From Peggy's perch above her bed...
It is true that the party establishment is compromised, and by many things, but one of them is experience. They've lived through a lot, seen a lot, know the national terrain. They know how things work. They know the history. I wonder if Tea Party members know how fragile are the institutions that help keep the country together.
After that, I don't wonder if Peggy still thinks we're a bunch of poorly edumacated hicks.
And. BTW, it looks to this unedumacated hick that Ms. Noonan and her editor are in sore need of some skillz...
Shouldn't this read..
It is true that the party establishment is compromised, and by many things, but one of them is NOT experience.
She is arguing that it is good that it is comprised of experience and bad that it is compromised by other issues.
She best be careful or some of us hicks might come to believe we're as gooder as her. Horrors!

Big $ from green = good

Insty "Reader David McCune writes: “Seriously? Obama is now hanging out with Richie Richman? Was Scrooge McDuck busy?” lol
