Far be it from me to attempt to defend ACORN prankster James O'Keefe, whose latest stunt - the CNN Love Boat - was not fully thought through. As I understand it the intended punking of CNN was sexist, but not nearly as ghastly as some imagine. Think of it as metaphor madness.
Here is CNN:
Lusby, Maryland (CNN) -- A conservative activist known for making undercover videos plotted to embarrass a CNN correspondent by recording a meeting on hidden cameras aboard a floating "palace of pleasure" and making sexually suggestive comments, e-mails and a planning document show.
Tracy Clark Flory of Salon takes a guess at the intended plot:
It isn't entirely clear what James O'Keefe hoped would happen when he invited CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau onto his floating "sex den." But the conservative prankster, who gained notoriety through his undercover ACORN sting, has certainly provided plenty of laughs this afternoon based on his proposed props for the stunt: dildos, lube, fuzzy handcuffs, Viagra and a mirrored ceiling. What, no edible undies or penis straws? O'Keefe says his plan was to "seduce her, on camera, to use her for a video," as payback for "trying to seduce me to use me, in order to spin a lie about me." A planning document obtained by the network reads, "The joke is that the tables have turned on CNN. Using hot blondes to seduce interviewees to get screwed on television, you are faux seducing her in order to screw her on television." If you can follow that logic, congrats: You must be a young conservative.
Hmm - the calendar says I am not so young, but I can follow that. Maybe I'm young at heart! And maybe Ms. Clark-Flory has a future as a young conservative, too, since she is close to my wavelength:
At first, I assumed O'Keefe's bizarre collection of sex-store sundries was a genuine, albeit tone-deaf, attempt to actually seduce Boudreau. However, I am going to generously credit O'Keefe with being smarter than that. So what was the purpose of these props? Maybe he wanted to trick Boudreau into believing she had happened upon a salacious story about another conservative with a sordid secret life just begging to be exposed. Given that O'Keefe sees CNN as wildly biased -- which is funny, given that the network is "allergic to opinion to the point of occasional incoherence," as Alex Pareene put it -- it could be that he assumed Boudreau would run wild with the story and then O'Keefe would humiliate her by revealing it as a hoax.
This young conservative agrees that O'Keefe had no intention or expectation of physically seducing Ms. Boudreau. In fact, the excerpted planning document released by CNN and quoted above makes clear that we are dealing with metaphor madness. Per the plan, CNN's hope is that a hot blonde reporter will "seduce" some young conservative guys into dishing dirt on, e.g., Sarah Palin; the crafty young men in question plan to dangle some juicy (but bogus!) Sarah Palin story, thereby "seducing" the reporter, while hitting on her and making the sexual subtext a bit more (OK, a lot more) obvious.
As stunts go, uhh, har de har. It does seem to be an extraordinary coincidence that all female television reporters are hot. But contrary to the premise of these young conservatives, hot people can be smart and professional, too (But enough about me!). O'Keefe could have come up with an amusing video of Boudreau cajlong and flattering him into divulging some absurd Sarah Palin vignette without the Love Boat angle. Actually, I would have paid extra to watch a CNN reporter who thought she had Pulitzers, Emmys, and some game-changing dirt on Sarah all within her grasp, and it would have made O'Keefe's point (I am presuming he had one) just as nicely.
Put it nother way - wouldn't you love to see the video of Mary Mapes, the Dan Rathergate producer, as she got ahold of the documents "proving" Bush had gone AWOL? O'Keefe hoped to bring an updated version of that moment, but with a kinky angle thrown in that was both sexist and hypocritical.
Hypocritical? Yes - the O'Keefe's ACORN videos got a big boost from the shapely Hannah Giles. Dressing a hot college chick as a hooker made great, marketable video, O'Keefe knew it, and he was happy to exploit it. For his group of pranksters to now decide that television news sells itself with sex is a bit rich, and unfair to the many hardworking (and hot) newsbabes.
ERRATA: A key point informs my thinking here. First, as a blushing young high schooler I went with friends to see a hot Italian film, The Seduction of Mimi. Spoiler Alert - Mimi was a male metalworker seduced by the Communist Party. I have been wary of leaping to conclusions about the use of that word ever since.
"In sum, the letters Aramark received are not intended by the SSA to contain “positive information” of immigration status, and could be triggered by numerous reasons other than fraudulent documents, including various errors in the SSA's NUMIDENT database. Indeed, the letters do not indicate that the government suspects the workers of using fraudulent documents. Rather, they merely indicate that the worker's earnings were not being properly credited, one explanation of which is fraudulent SSNs. This falls short of the “positive information” from the government that was held to provide constructive notice in Mester and New El Rey and held lacking in Collins. See Collins, 948 F.2d at 554-55. Without more, the letters did not provide constructive notice of any immigration violations."

I'm having a hard time understanding why I should care about the O'Keefe story.
No, don't bother to explain -- I just don't see how this rises to the level of planting explosives to "demonstrate" faulty gas tanks, or purposefully rigging a car's engine to bypass the electronic controls to "demonstrate" runaway acceleration, or trying to pass off Word docs as 1970's era type-written reports.

More on Stuxnet--from Legal Insurrection:
Now, a Symantec researcher has found a reference in the code to an obscure date in 1979 which just happens to be the date on which the Iranian revolutionaries executed a prominent Iranian Jew. As reported at ThreatPost:
A Symantec researcher filled in more critical details about the Stuxnet worm here, demonstrating the worm's ability to take control of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) by Siemens Inc. and disable machinery connected to them.
Liam O'Murchu of Symantec, speaking at the Virus Bulletin Conference here, provided the first detailed public analysis of the worm's inner workings to an audience of some of the world's top computer virus experts. O'Murchu described a sophisticated and highly targeted virus and demonstrated a proof of concept exploit that showed how the virus could cause machines using infected PLCs to run out of control....
As for suggestions that Israeli intelligence may have authored the virus, O'Murchu noted that researchers had uncovered the reference to an obscure date in the worm's code, May 9, 1979, which, he noted, was the date on which a prominent Iranian Jew, Habib Elghanian, who was executed by the new Islamic government shortly after the revolution.
Here is a portion of the Wikipedia entry on Elghanian:
On May 9, 1979, Elghanian was executed by a firing squad in Tehran sending shock waves through the closely knit Iranian Jewish community. He was the first Jew and one of the first civilians to be executed by the new Islamic government. This prompted the mass exodus of the once 100,000 member strong Jewish community of Iran which continues to this day.
Was this an Israeli attack with snippets of code manipulated to mock the Iranians, or a false flag operation meant to blame the Israelis?
Somewhere, someplace, someone is laughing. We just don't know who.

I just don't buy the "we found this string in the code, it means 'X'" line. Some of that may be the filtering through the mass media -- I don't trust them to understand what they're told.
But most of it because the human brain is trained to look for patterns, and we all too often find them when they're just not there. Pawing through megs of binary code is a ripe environment for seeing things that really aren't there.
And if anything, clues like this point AWAY from the Israeli government. They'd want plausible deniability. That doesn't mean it didn't come from a non-governmental source, though.

"When a powerful man like this is failing, he can become dangerous."
Time to push the jug-eared commie bastard over the edge.

I think Wehner's right. I've been saying he's losing it for weeks now. With Axelrod and Rahm out the door and MO as crazy as he is, our back up is Biden?
ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Followed by Pelosi.

Bill,
He may be rubber room ready right now, as Clarice suggests. Biden has to agree to the certification and there would be a problem if MO did not sign off as well. I still believe that his 'they talk to me like a dog' was a reference to the 'inner circle jerk' of advisers. They've been telling him to get his lazy ass to work ever since they rammed the health care fiasco through.
He has no idea how to go to work and he's really too damned dumb to do much even if he tried.

Roiling the sceptic blogosphere today is a little 5 minute video put out by Greenpeace, the Guardian, and a sick little outfit called 10:10 featuring sceptical schoolchildren being blown up. L!ink U!nder N!ame for viewing at Watts Up.

Talk about lunatics running the asylum--I'm trying to picture Biden certifying someone as unfit for office.
And has there ever been a threesome--Obama, Biden, Pelosi--as ridiculous as the current line of succession? Larry, Moe, and Curly would be preferable.

Don't make a damn move to remove him til after the new congress takes office.
New speaker of the house named then Obama removed, Biden simultaneously impeached for keeping the info from the congress and the new speaker of the house is sworn in as president.

No Pressure

jimmyk-
Kirk, Spock, and Scottie? I'm guessing Obama's charm offensive isn't working out quite as planned.
And above, I think it was on this thread, the slavery bit was in his prepared remarks at Wisconsin:
If he's using it again, Obama's political staff was probably focusing grouping and polling the speech.

Kim:
I saw that on twitter and still can't believe it.
O…M…G – Video explodes skeptical kids in bloodbath
It also reminded me of that sick polar bear commercial Polar Bears 9/11
I just hope the DHS has the global warming militias on their radar.

Oh my goodness Kim...that 10:10 film is horrific. If we won't participate, they will kill us.

What's funnier, that wingnuts actually believe Reagan won the Cold War, or that Glenn Beck and his lizard-brained fans are too dumb and/or too spun to get how calling the president a commie means they think we've actually lost the Cold War?
