Sue

So, what you're saying is te Rangers are going to be playing SF in the WS?

Danube of Thought

TM, you surely recognize that each of the next three games is a must-win for the once-proud Bombers. Unless they win all three, they will (a) lose in five, (b) lose in six, or (3) face Mr. Lee in Texas in Game 7"

Sue

It's a good thing the fans are helping.

Sue

Well okay. No fan help with that one.

Sue

Whoa...

Sue

Too bad we only have one Cliff Lee on our team. ::sigh::

Tom Maguire

So, what you're saying is te Rangers are going to be playing SF in the WS?

I think in that scenario Fox will just go with 'House' reruns.

Sue

How rude!

Gmax

Looks more like the A J Burnett we have come to know and love.

2-1

And the best thing is Aroid cant make the play.

Gmax

Sue

I got your back. And remember its yankee fans and NY rude, they go together like
Democrat and lying.

Sue

I'm liking it.

Sue

Our bats better wake up.

Sue

Whew!

maryrose

This is a really fun thread. I feel like I'm getting a play by play account of the game. And no I am not watching the game per my rule that if I watch the Rangers will lose.

Sue

Drats!

PD

Interesting optical effect.

PD

Our bats better wake up.

Your bats better bat better?

sbw

And how much does a TV camera lens cost?

PD

maryrose, all the Yankees fans declare as one that you should not deprive yourself the pleasure of watching the game.

Sue

I'm sort of thinking we need to regroup.

sbw

Losing Tex hurts.

Funny you should think of a show where the main premise revolves around someone near death in need of a miraculous cure.

not_bubarooni

ugh...

joe and valerie are laurence o'donnell's comedy hour show.

laurence is clearly in love. not sure if his object of interest is joe, val or himself though.

not_bubarooni

joe and valerie are ON...

Sue

Holly

Bats battin' bad better.

PD

The patient is coding! Get me 500cc's of viagra and the defribulator, stat!

Those mean M*A*S*H doctors we were talking about the other day have nothing on TM's Unruly Lot.

maryrose

So who won?

Sue

Bottom of 7th Rangers 7 Yanks 3.

MarkO

Thanks a lot, Sue. Just thanks a lot. Who needs Cliff?

maryrose

Go Rangers! Sorry MarkO.

Sue

Mark,

You're welcome. ::grin:: I haven't stopped grinning since they intentionally walked Murphy and Bengie made them pay for it.

Captain Hate

Has Joe Plame lost any weight since we last saw him looking like he was crushing the all-you-can-eat buffets on a nightly basis?

Sue

I'd like to take a moment and thank Tom for giving me a place to gloat tonight. I hope he does the same tomorrow night so I don't bore the political posters who are doing serious business while I grin like a possum.

PD

I hope he does the same tomorrow night

Not likely, the game's at 3:30 ET. :-)

Sue

Are you kidding? I think I knew that they were talking about Josh not liking day games.

Sue

My comma is not working. Weird.

narciso

I saw the preview for "Fair Game" while waiting for a otherwise enjoyable showing or Reds, I think Doug Liman, took a little too much quat when he wrote the screenplay

But I do.

Well, for sure, he didn't know squat about what happened. Heh, neither do Joe and Val.
==============

Sue

Deja vu?

Sue

Huge out.

Esperangers.

Sartainly no presque vu, hope you.
==================

Sue

Loving it.

Sue

Seriously Kim I have a hard time understanding you in English. And my comma is still not working.

Sue

And Josh just hit it out again.

Holly

Something to do with Sarte? Go bats.

Holly

Oh, my gosh, bats are batty tonight! *grin*

Sue

And now Nellie hits it out. 10 to 3. And they are piling out of the stadium in NY.

Sue

Our bats woke up.

Sue

I could get used to this. No wonder the Yankees are so arrogant. It's fun when you're winning.

PD

Something to do with Sarte?

Can't be. That's "No Exit" and the fans are heading for them in droves.

Sue

Night y'all. Thanks Tom.

Holly

LOL PD. I meant to type "Sartre," but "no exit" is much better.

Danube of Thought

Goodness gracious. The dimensions of this humiliating disgrace for the New Yorks are becoming quite astonishing.

The astute fan will want to compare the total runs scored by each team (a) in the series to date and, more alarmingly, (b) in once-hallowed Yankee Stadium.

Epic fail on the diamond.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Man, DoT sures kicks the poor Yankees when they're down.
Heh. Keep it up.

BR

What, total nuns scored by each team! And on top of that, on hallowed ground. What is this country coming to!

Sue at 11:52 - the French are best known for speaking in tongues :)

i'm not a giants fan, but they are clutch hitting just enough, and the pitching has been stellar.

while i normally hat to descend into personal attacks on someone's looks...

joe wilson's jowls looked like luggage. even on that overblown head, the optical effect is jolting.

he was on touting his new movie and i must say sean penn is the perfect pinhead to play joe in their new movie 'Fair Game'.

am i to part with my hard earned cash to go watch joe & val fight russkies, terrorists and rascally republicans? i predict the movie will be an epic fail.

PD

There's a movie? Clear my schedule when it arrives in town.

Yankees fans are . . . well . . . http://30fps.mocksession.com/YANKEEDOUCHE.gif>they're something. (I'm telling you, that thing just keeps looping over and over -- and I keep watching and watching. It's oddly addictive)

That's even before discussing the nutjob who http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/Police-Man-who-rushed-Yankee-Stadium-field-went;_ylt=AoWkjwEcki3GKnzEuQB.48A5nYcB?urn=mlb-278394>ran onto the field allegedly to kill A-Rod because he's in love with Cameron Diaz (the nutjob, not A-Rod. We think).

To be fair, there's no evidence he's an actual Yankees fan. Just call him a New Yorker.

Not yet 8am, and already I've seen a headline I had to read twice:

Troops discharged for being gay try to re-enlist | FAQs

peter

Congratulations to the Texas Rangers fans. Let me know when you make the playoffs 15 out of 16 years and have 27 World Series championships.

Think the San Francisco Giants vs Rangers WS will draw a lot of viewers?

Extraneus

What's that guy in the back talking about?

Pagar

Another headline to read twice.

Illinois Soldiers Wait for Ballots. Prisoners Get Hand Delivery..

This (from their comment section) says some felons may not be eligble.

So, does this mean that Josh will beat Cano for the Cy Young trophy?

Could be, could be.

Joe can't explain to Val why she didn't play herself.

TM--

we are all eagerly waiting for that Yankees lose, Yankees lose..... TTTTTTHHHHHHEEEEE YANKEES LOSE!!! post.

I love the JOM blog, hate the Yankee arrogance.

Jack is Back!

Mak,ala, aka JOMOs,

After the elections Barry and Moochelle will go to India to sikh the truth, I guess:)

gmax

OK TM so the burning question is this. Do the Yankees pay Girardi for strategic decisions, or is he a beneficiary of a legacy job due to marriage to one of the Steinbrenner heirs?

Seriously, a deep thinker decides to throw hittable pitches to Josh Hamilton all game, and then in the most brilliant thought of all, walks David Murphy to get to Benji Molina?

The only yankee supporters left in the stands at the end of the game were the players, and most of them knew their cars were double parked in the players garage and they could not get out anyway. SHEESH.

Captain Hate

Here is Ol' Joe at Cannes

Check out the stress lines on the coat centering on the button, which must be secured with 300 lb test line suitable for fishing for blue marlins. He could always do the John Pinette schtick in comedy clubs: "Does this suit make me look fat?" No, Joe ::rolleyes::.

And dear God, somebody get Val some undergarmets for those droopers; she's not nearly as young as she thinks she is and the world's thickest pencil couldn't stay suspended by those hideous things.

gmax

Hey Peter console yourself. As you rightly point out, you can just take another stroll through monument park. Dont mind us Texas trash over here have a small and insignificant tailgate celebration.

How does it feel by the way to get crushed night after night to a team that you look so far down upon?

Captain Hate

Think the San Francisco Giants vs Rangers WS will draw a lot of viewers?

Is that why they play the games? Btw, I hate the Ginats more than the Yankees...

sbw

Actually, real Yankee fans are astounded that this team got as far as it has with the bullpen it had: A.J., Joba, Vazquez... I could go on.

Extraneus

Whimpering into their pillow, NAACP releases report accusing tea party groups of links to bigots.

Ex,

Don't forget to party like its 1773:)

Janet the tea-vangelist!

Check out the stress lines on the coat

LOL! I got such a kick outta your comments Captain the last time Ann posted pictures of Joe. I think it was something like,..now we know what happened to the yellow cake! Hahhaha Also something about how that stressed button could be used as a projectile weapon! Anyway.... Hahahahaha

jimmyk

Seriously, a deep thinker decides to throw hittable pitches to Josh Hamilton all game, and then in the most brilliant thought of all, walks David Murphy to get to Benji Molina?

The strangest thing was Joba throwing the first pitch right down the middle to Vlad, who will swing at anything within 5 feet of home plate.

The decision to walk a righty who hit .291 to face a lefty who hit .249 is defensible, except with 20/20 hindsight.

jimmyk

oops, I meant "walk a lefty ... to face a righty"

Oh peter, I'm so sad for you. ::nyuck nyuck nyuck::

You will not rain on my parade, buster.

Go Rangers!!!!!

Sue

jimmy,

You are right. Murphy had been able to hit off AJ earlier in the season, Bengie didn't. Any coach would have made that call. Probably. However, it was still sweet of him to give us that extra run when Bengie knocked it out. ::grin::

Sue

Who the hell is the guy between the two females in that picture Janet posted? He looks creepy.

gmax

Sue

He could have brought in the bullpen earlier, he had a lefty out there. In fact what was the justification for keeping the great and powerful Riveria on the bench? Is Joe saving him up for the offseason?

He was playing with fire all game, Burnett had been paying off like a slot machine for other team batters until this game. He should have done something other than he did.

But seriously you are afraid of David Murphy and not Josh Hamilton?

Captain Hate

O/T Why did Clarence Thomas's wife call that ignorant bint Anita Hill? Did she honestly think that any good would come out of that? Or that prudish Hill wouldn't publicize it? Let her rest in deserved obscurity bilking the people that attend Brandeis thinking the faculty is first rate. Or give Brett Favre her text addy.

Sue

gmax,

Burnett had been paying off like a slot machine

That's what the smart folks were saying post game last night. He was pitching fine, we were having as hard a time hitting him as we did Pettitte.

But seriously you are afraid of David Murphy and not Josh Hamilton?

Apparently.

Danube of Thought

Think the San Francisco Giants vs Rangers WS will draw a lot of viewers?

Not in New York, for sure.

Pagar

Another headline you might want to read twice. Apparently the Democrats don't think the Fed has enough public land and that more paths for illegals to enter the US without being hazzled by Border Patrol officers are needed. another disastrous federal land grab.

Danube of Thought

New Yorkers are cheered by the fact that when this fiasco is over, the can focus, laser-like, on the Knicks.

MarkO

Biff!!! Bam!!! Pow!!! Thwack!!!

Holy Speaker Pelosi, Batman. This is painful.

Janet the tea-vangelist!

Thanks for the link Pagar. That is a great example of something that sounds nice but Americans have no idea what the repercussions will be. The "news"papers never explain....just show some pretty photos, & say the government is gonna protect it.
Protect it from what? Us?
Wildlife doesn't care about a gravel road...in fact lots of snakes & animals will come out & sun in the open areas. Even the mowing on either side of the roads brings out animals to eat the tender new shoots of the grasses...which they prefer over the older "broom straw" top growth.
On one piece of land the King Ranch has oil production, cattle, & hunting leases. Because there is a value on the wildlife now, the Ranch is mindful of putting too many cattle on it.

peter

You know, the Yankees are a conservative team. They stress accomplishment. They don't rely on mediocre finishes so they can get better draft picks. Other team owners are perfectly happy to put mediocre product on the field, knowing that the rules are slanted to favor "parity" another word for mediocrity, or lowest common denominator and revenue sharing. George Steinbrenner was a Republican and an entrepeneur. He bought the team from the liberal mainstream media who was happy to let it finish in last place. I'm happy Texans are excited. I have nothing against Texas. Some of my favorite Presidents and musicians are from Texas. Yankee haters remind me of the irrational politics of personal destruction leftists, who resent success. Ok, they had a mediocre playoffs. Any team can get hot in October. It didn't happen for them this year. sheeeeeshhh

peter

And seriously, I like C.C Sabathia's fat gut more than Benjie Molina's

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Why did Clarence Thomas's wife call that ignorant bint Anita Hill?

I wonder that too. I bet her husband didn't know about it.

Sue

Yankee haters remind me of the irrational politics of personal destruction leftists, who resent success.

No, I just hate Yankees because they take our players and beat us. Come on peter, give us this moment. Chin up and all that stuff. There's always next year.

Go Rangers!
