Jack is Back!

She also said something to the effect that it was "Bush's fault" and I almost wish Diane Sawyer would have asked, "which one?" The problem with progressives, radicals and Democrats (did I just repeat myself?) is they are sore losers. They are never to blame, never to accept responsibiity, accountability or any sacrifice for the common good.

Spin,Spin,Spin, that's all you are going to hear from the ex-Speaker. Your 15 minutes are up ,time to move on and "lean forward" into your future.

... and blamed the economy for her party’s losses.

Well, she's not completely wong on this point.

It's the fact that the Congress and the White House seemed to ignore the fact, that we were in a deeper than usual recession, when making their legislative choices, that got them into trouble.

But really, it was their "tone deafness," that made thing worse. You can't ignore the protesters that show up outside your door completely ... you have to figure out if they have a point before ignoring them.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

Well, Nancy had four years and Barry has had two, so just exactly why are they surprised that people hold them responsible for the state of the economy?
They believe if they claim they were "shellacked" because of the economy, it had nothing to do with their policies but we all know better.
Their idiotic economic policies along with Barrycare and all the rest are the reasons they got crushed.
"No regrets" is the voice of the True Believer.

What's the deal with the governor's race in Connecticut? they have Malloy winning but Foley has more votes.

Clarice

WWhy is the Glib Pasha taking 34 warships yo India?

DebinNC

What surprised me in CT is that AP's vote count, not the Dems/Reps' or the Sec of State's, but AP's count moved it out of the win column.

Porchlight

This ridiculous Asia trip is going to be the icing on the election cake. It will confirm to voters that Barry has learned nothing from Tuesday.

Unfortunately I'm afraid the MSM may tone down the coverage as a way of protecting the WH as it licks its wounds.

bgates

Nine and a half percent unemployment is a very eclipsing event

Wow, that Christine O'Donnell is stupid.

and pray over it

Theocrat, too.

Captain Hate

She also said something to the effect that it was "Bush's fault" and I almost wish Diane Sawyer would have asked, "which one?"

You're assuming Diane remembers there were two of them.

Jack is Back!

Clarice,

As I pointed out to DebinNC on the other thread - that is close to 1/3rd of our deployed combat ready fleet. We only have 3 fully operational and deployed combat ready aircraft carriers anyway and now 1 of them is there to make sure The Biggest Loser doesn't get so much as a hangnail. What a show-off.

AP today: Speaking to reporters after a Cabinet meeting, Obama said has invited the incoming House speaker, John Boehner, and top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell to meet with him on November 18. The meeting is also to include current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

So two days after the msm's 10 day saturation coverage of the Obamas' lavish style over substance $2B photo-op abroad, Obama will host a WH meeting on working together to fix the economy?

Neo

What's with all the military hardware to India ?
Are they going to surrender ?

The Hartford Courant (very left leaning) is now reporting (http://www.ctnow.com/news/hc-ct-governor-election-results-1105-20101104,0,4227588.story>Story Here):

The most recent vote totals posted online by The Associated Press, which on Wednesday withdrew its call that Malloy had won the race, now mirror the numbers reported by the New Haven Registrars of Voters.

The AP's online totals now show Malloy winning the race by 4,242 votes, with all but 10 precincts in Bridgeport reporting.

Foley is still considering legal action because the city of Bridgeport was allowed to keep the polls open 2 hours extra (http://www.ctnow.com/news/connecticut/hc-bridgeport-voting-mess-2010-20101102,0,1172702.story>reported here):

Connecticut's state Democratic Party sued because of a ballot shortage. Bridgeport officials ordered 21,000 ballots despite the fact that the city has more than 69,000 registered voters, Secretary of the State Susan Bysiewicz said.

She called the judge's decision "extraordinary."

Superior Court Judge Marshall K. Berger, Jr. in Hartford made the ruling.

Bysiewicz said the state Republican Party argued against extending the hours, saying that voters were not disenfranchised because photocopied ballots were provided, which will be counted. The state attorney general's office also argued that the polls should close at 8 p.m.

Crazy.....

Pray over it? Like she would listen to anyone, including God.

The taxpayer cost of bailing out mortgage finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, already at $148 billion, will likely rise to $280 billion and could balloon to $685 billion, according to Standard & Poor’s

Clarice asks a good question about the war ships. But the whole trip reeks, if you ask me. $2 billion for Barry and Shelly and the girls, along with 3,000 of their security, family and friends, for Diwali (or however you spell it)?

My gawd!

Walter

This Wiki photo of the Abraham Lincoln carrier battle group shows 21 vessels. While I'm happy to dis the President for taking over two hotels and bringing most of his staff, I don't think it is out of line to combine his trip with a training exercise for ships in the area. I would hope that port calls and shore liberty will be conducted before or after the visit.

Simon

So which party will be at fault if we get hit while Barry's in India?

Neo

This is a lesson in here somewhere ...

Troubled solar panel maker Solyndra announced the company will close its first factory to save $60 million in operating expenses, and will lay off 40 workers just seven weeks after opening their second plant, a $733 million facility.
The company’s CEO Brian Harrison said the new facility is more cost-efficient than the old one, according to the New York Times, which first reported the story. The company has fallen on hard times, in part because of the rising tide of Chinese solar makers who can produce cheaper panels and are challenging American companies for business.
Outsourced before they got off the ground.
"Green Jobs" .. BS .. nothing but BS

Walter

Of course, I should know better than to depend on Wiki--another description of the photo is:

The USS Abraham Lincoln Battle Group along with ships from Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, and South Korea travel towards Honolulu in RIMPAC 2000.
All the same, I'm all for breaking up the monotony of overseas deployments. My cousin is on a carrier in the area.

Comanche Voter

Pelosi may "pray" to God; but if there is a God, and if there is justice; God will say "Pelosi, you just don't listen--and in your case, neither will I". Tough noogies kiddo, you're on your own. Still her San Francisco homies gave her 85% of the vote. Unless Ms. Pelosi is caught campaigning against gay marriage, San Francisco will elect her until Hell freezes over.

Cecil Turner

The real fallacy in Nancy's postmortem is the unspoken assumption that there's no causation between Dem policies and the poorly performing economy.

Ignatz Ratzkywatzky

As usual Cecil says what I wished I'd said, only much clearer and in one third the space.

Frau Spatz

"No regrets" is the voice of the True Believer."

Non, je ne regrette rien! Pelosi sure as hay-uhl is no Edith Piaf.

Frau Spatz

Neo, perhaps Barry will outsource our entire government to the Indians.

jorgxmckie

Perhaps Granny McBotox could point to any single Dem policy enacted on her watch which actually *helped* the economy? I sure don't remember one.

jorgxmckie

Oh, and I like the idea of Obama finally figuring out "it's the economy and jobs, Stupid" and then Pres. Smartypants decides that it's not so important that it can't wait another couple of weeks.

I demand an IQ test. Dumbest. President. Evah.

Neo
In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.
I’m firmly convinced that Pelosi never got that "oblige it [government] to control itself" part from Federalist #51
Boatbuilder

Obama, Pelosi and the Dems won big in 2008, largely because of the perception that the Republicans had badly mishandled the economy. While it seems unlikely that a substantial majority of the (grownup)electorate really thought that the Democrats were going to "fix" the economy, the gleeful, heedless and arrogant way that they went about seeking to utterly destroy it brought on real, and justified fear that they would succeed. Obama and Pelosi created the Tea Party. If Obama had simply muddled through, even raised taxes and focused on liberal social legislation, there would be no Tea Party and the Dems would still be in control. Blaming "the economy" simply doesn't wash.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

The republicans should immediately defund whatever fund Obama is getting the $2b for this trip from.

Clarice, how is your sciatica?

Chubby

His spending the people's money so audaciously is a form of subliminal revenge imo.

 centralcal

Jane, I couldn't agree more about defunding Barry and Shelly's travels.

Clarice

Jane--thanks for asking--Turns out it's some degenerative discs..The doc gave me some painkiller and steroids to take and said by Monday I should be fine. This has been building up since a misstep in April and I've kept it in check with exercise and Aleve until now but i think i overdid it for the election party.

Growing old is not for sissies.

Clarice

Ignatz, I have it on good authority that Cecil radio beams stuff into my head and extracts all my best thoughts even before I have them.

Specter

Hi Clarice....It's been a while. I was...well...let's say "waylaid" by certain individuals in the government. But, finally, I'm back...

Frau Nebenan

Clarice, I hate the saying "misery loves company," but I, too, am having sciatica problems - well over a month. I'm limping around and dreading our 2 and a half day drive to WA the 18th of this month. I've had to curtail my daily walks which really bothers me. I did think of you preparing your election dinner in pain: Clarice as the "little mermaid" in the kitchen.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Sciatica really sucks. It is the oddest and most insidious pain. And there is so little that you can do physically to feel better.

I hope both of you get rid of it fast!

caro

Oh, feel better,Frau and Clarice.I had that once and ended up in surgery after months of pain. I waited until I couldn't drive. That did it.The good thing is that it has never happened again.I do feel your pain.
