Captain Hate

Linking Tapper and AllahPander, the Frick and Frack of douche? Everybody knows the WH and State Dept dimwit quislings got caught in another of their commie loving schemes.

China's a faux hoosegow, a hokey-pokey.

You put your right foot in,
You take your left foot out.
That's what the tail's about.

Janet

The entire idea of a fancy dinner party for the communist Chinese is sickening...not just the song.
A giant event honoring Liu Xiaobo while the Chinese delegates were in town would have been more fitting. An empty chair in a place of honor while songs about freedom & liberty were played loud & proud.

Jeff

My inside sources tell me they were going to play "Socialism is Good", but they scrapped it when they found it impossible to keep Barry in his seat during rehearsals.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Morning everyone. If the bloody snow will cooperate I will be meeting Hit later today. Well the snow doesn't matter it just dictates how early I have to leave.

You better get a hat Hit. It's gonna be a cold one. (And I hear there is ice under the snow.)

Danube of Thought

Had me tappin' my toes by the third line. Hope Rex Ryan wasn't watching.

Captain Hate

Janet, the jugeared clown couldn't be bothered to exhibit any disgust over Neda being gunned down in Iran; why would he make a fuss about a Nobel prize winner who was actually deserving of the award being imprisoned. Civility dictated that he vote "Present".

Is Obama changing his mind about energy and climate, or not?

Here's some good news: Carol Browner is out as Energy Czar and possibly no replacement. Holdren, Chu, and Jackson are still there.
============

Janet

and if we really wanted to celebrate their communist culture we should have served everyone equal amounts of rice....lent them bicycles to get around Washington DC. We could have had a special table representing North Korea - off in a dark corner with no lights - & served equal amounts of dirt.

NK

just more muppetry from the 2009 noble winner hosting the man imprisoning the 2010 noble peace winner. Barry is hardcore Alinsky Lefty-- we're blessed that he's a moronic incompetent Alinsky Lefty. jake Tapper? He's the HS kid who's dying to be in with the cool crowd but is too arrogant to ask in, he holds out like he doesn't care, but does everything he can to be asked in.

centralcal

Good morning. Have fun meeting Hit, Jane and both of you keep warm!

Okay fashionistas, I am sorry to go O/T so early, but the first Floozie FLOTUS finally wore a skirt/suit. With stockings (tights, more than pantyhose) and heels. Sounds dignified and appropriate, right? Yeah, well - take a close look at the outfit.

What really is wrong with this First Lady?

centralcal

Just one close up of the suit jacket.

Notice anything amiss on the collar?

(h/t MOTUS Mirror)

squaredance

Well, for a jugg-eared clown is is doing pretty darn well at turning opinion around.

Just unbelievable given the damage he has done to the nation. (And to think that a patriot like Palin has her rating go down)

It goes to show that the so-called "independents" were focusing on something other than the reality of what he and the Democrats are doing. We are wrong to imagine that the nation has finally figured out what the Democrats are really about or the hideous implications of Socialism

That bizarre propaganda campaign around the Tuscon "incident worked wonders. Just wait for the next one. Obama can kowtow to the Chinese just a few days before the SotU speech and nary and outcry. The poll go up

What a bunch of foolish children we are.

Obama has caused nothing but ruin, has lied through his teeth and he is back in play.

I predict a real bump, that he remains on the up side for quite some time, and that the general public will buy all, or at least most, of the snake oil he will pedal in his speech.

Sue

C-cal,

That must be the look the designer was going for, because it appears to be that way on both sides. My grandma would have fainted, since points on collars were a must with anything she sewed.

narciso

How many times, have we been through the "Charlie Brown" rollercoaster. this too shall pass, reality will get in the way, it always does.

Captain Hate

The bump won't stay in place with a crummy economy and high unemployment; no matter how much the oily smarmy Chuckie Sleaze plans on demonizing Ryan.

clarice

Yes, sue, more fashion forward stuff Ikram picked up for her off the runway.

squaredance

we're blessed that he's a moronic incompetent Alinsky Lefty.

Tell that to the bond holders of GM.

He is hardly incompetent, and in any case, he is just a figurehead. That crew is highly competent at what they value: The dismantlement Western Civilization, starting with the USA. incompetent? We may never recover form the damage that these people have done, but if we do it will take a generation.

What makes you think that this little burlesque with the song would be disapproved of by anyone in the WH? They are decidedly Maoist themselves. What makes you think that they have not over and over apologized for "the Cold War" behind closed doors? It should be obvious that they are in the pockets of the PRC, but it should be just as obvious that they would sell us out to them for purely ideological reasons.

Ask yourself: "What secrets has he given the Chinese"?

More kabuki theater. The Democrats are laughing about it. They can now insult the rest of us right to our faces. Consider what happens if the Democrats get back into power on the Hill and Obama get re-elected.

They got trounced last Nov. and it appears that already they are turning it back. They will not turn away from their path but redouble their efforts.

The nation is facing a real struggle to even save itself let alone restore us to what we were even a short while ago.

Jack is Back!

daddy,

This is for you when you show up. Your boy Begich, when he was Mayor of Anchorage, got this one underway. Living up to the Democrat credential of tripling the cost and time to get something done even if you have to rip it up and start over. LUN

PaulV

Obama missed an opportunity. He could have gotten up and led Marine Corp band in La
Marseillaise

squaredance:
Don't be discouraged. Obama gets a temporary bump-yawn.
He has exposed his true self for all to see and we have the video to prove it. This boy in going down in 2012.

Sue

I think the suit could fit her better, but for once, I am going to applaud her for her choice of wardrobe. It was appropriate. She had on opaque tights which covered her oily legs. This is definitely one of her better choices.

Danube of Thought

Minus 5 at Raz today, 52% at least somewhat approve.

Seems you can inflict untold carnage, but the minute you start talking like a conservative your stock rises. And when (and if) this stagnant economy begins to stir, he will claim and get huge credit for it.

But even if it helps this guy immeasurably, I still hope Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell do what's right. God knows no one else will.

Janet

Obama has caused nothing but ruin, has lied through his teeth and he is back in play.

I know....I just don't get it. Am. Thinker has a post on the ruin of Detroit. Look at the Dem. run cities...
They only do okay (like my town Arlington, VA) while there is tons of money to steal from the citizens. They are almost always made up of the really rich, & the really poor. They rot & rot until the rich move away or into safe enclaves.
...and Obama is a liar about his life. It is maddening that the media won't question him on the inconsistencies.

Pops

If Sarah Palin wants to see the liberal media's heads collectively explode, she should TWEET today that if the President really wants a new tone, he can start tonight by leading off his speech with an apollgy to the Supreme Court for attacking them last year.

Then she should suggest the President address the tragic mass murder which happened recently which the media has ignored, the Philadelphia Baby Butcher mass murder.

Neo

This is too ironic (or something).

From Jeremy Hance of Mongabay: “How Genghis Kahn cooled the planet.”

So does this prove that the mission of the US military in VietNam was a good eco mission ? Hey, John Kerry said that they “razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan.”

Jack is Back!

I think the reason you are seeing a bump for The Won is that there is no clear and present danger to him in the form of a leading national conservative player who can clearly articulate why we are doomed under his leadership. The MFM have already created charactertures of Palin as a dimwitted, stupid, hick from up there in Alaska. Then the only media outlet with the right message and with anything approaching audience share is Fox against the onslaught of CBSNBCABCCNNMSNBC et. al. But then again, Indies are fickled voters and some don't start paying attention until it is too late. He is going to sound like he is moving to the center but he always sounds like he is going to do something but in action never does. People will hear him say - Jobs, Investment (ie. spending), Opportunity, Debt reduction and Education - but they will then tune out the actuality of the succeeding events. Tuscon, as tragic as it was, was the first of MFM's strategy of changing the subject just to keep Obama, socialism, Marxism and Islamism in the WH.

Pagar

I've been checking out the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Fl and can report they do good work.

Janet, I like your thoughts on the Chinese state dinner issue.

Over at AT, Jack Cashill reports that Gov. Abercrombie has made a new statement. LUN
Yet the SOTU address is scheduled to go on.
Amazing!

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

DOT they may "somewhat approve" but that doesn't mean they would re-elect him.

So is Mel holding us all for ransom on his Rahm explaination?

Janet

Yes, sue, more fashion forward stuff Ikram picked up for her off the runway.

What?? You don't think Ikram knows fashion?

No points to worry about on this outfit!

Jack is Back!

Pagar,

I am a Mayo client, also in Jacksonville. Use the satellite clinic in St. Augustine for annuals. Nice and efficient facility and hospital in Jax. Everything under one roof. Wait til Obamacare really clicks in and see if they have a fall.

One other thing as to the above: Consumer confidence at an 8 month high. Any odds that gets penciled in the speech tonight.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Who is that janet?

JIB that was interesting, but if you summon another birther anchor baby poll with it, I won't speak to you for a month.

Sue

Janet,

LOL.

Danube of Thought

Look at the Dem. run cities...

While you're at it, check out how their states are doing, too.

Edward Spalton

They missed the opportunity to play the tune which stayed at the top of the Chinese hit parade through all the years of the cultural revolution-

"How I love to carry nightsoil (i.e. shit) up the mountain For the commune"

Sue

I wish I could post pictures. http://www.ikram.com/Whatsnew/FallWinter2010FavoritePhotos/tabid/188/Default.aspx>We should be thankful Michelle isn't really following fashion forwardness...

And those who believe the truth? Why, they're crazy.

Heh, Stop the Smears. They're true, but stop them anyway.
==================

rse

Most of us have explained to our kids that not intending the outcome is no excuse if you intended the action.

Can someone tell the WH that the test is not whether they were offended?

The pianist saw it as an insult and the Chinese see it as one (and are apparently quite pleased).

Kim-

Won't it be interesting to watch which foundation boards Browner goes to now?

Janet

Who is that janet?

"Ikram Goldman, the Chicago boutique owner whose role as Michelle Obama’s wardrobe consultant has made her one of the fashion world’s biggest influencers,..."

Clarice pointed her out to me.

MayBee

The Mrs O blog yesterday contained a link to a Politico piece from last spring, hinting that there may be a White House staffer who has taken over some of Michelle's clothing styling.

So...I think we're paying someone to help Michelle choose her expensive dresses. Needless to say, the White House will not discuss it.

Jack is Back!

Jane,

What? Have you got me confused with someone else? An anchor baby birther poll? When did I do that?

/Quiz day at JOM.

Rick Ballard

MayBee,

I believe it's just a slight cultural difference but I don't know enough about Wookie culture to identify the precise point of departure. I thought the First Lady was truly stunning in that blue trucker's tarp the other day. I wonder what it looked like billowing in the breeze above the WIDE LOAD sign?

Jack is Back!

Janet,

What are the odds that we'll see MO in a pair of those low cut Chuckies Ikram is wearing. Even if you have to photo shop - please, pretty please, for me:)

Janet

I wish I could post pictures.

Sue, I will send you a message of Facebook with the instructions I sent Frau awhile ago.

Sue

MayBee,

You know, I don't care. The 1st Lady needs to be dressed better than the average bear. If she has to hire someone to help her with that, fine. But dear heavens, don't hire someone that forgets to have your measurements taken. Or that can't figure out what is appropriate at certain functions.

Janet

JiB, I don't know how to photoshop.....yet. Bwahaaaaaaa :)

Jack is Back!

Sue,

This one is by a designer named "Narciso Rodriquez".....I wonder.....could it be......nah!

clarice

"Narciso Rodriquez just went bankrupt. I believe he designed the black widow spider lady dress MO wore at the Chicago post-election rally..

clarice

JiB, Jane said "summoned up" such a quiz, she did not suggest you posted it.

narciso

No, JiB, I'm not in fashion, seems like her wardrobe choice is better this year, on the margins, anyways

Sue

Clarice,

How many of Michelle's designers have gone bankrupt?

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

What? Have you got me confused with someone else? An anchor baby birther poll?

You didn't. I just didn't want your post to spur someone else to do it. I did find that article fascinating tho.

MayBee

I don't know, Sue. The first lady has all the free time she wants, thanks to the American taxpayer. Anything that takes up her time is of her choosing. If she wants to spend her time picking out clothes to enhance her image, that is no cost to us. If she can't do it alone, then I've no problem with her spending her own money on a stylist. I see no reason why, in addition to cooks, housecleaners, drivers, and social secretaries the American people need to pay for her personal stylists. She was the one who decided to be a fashion plate (to please the NY crowd)

All in all, I don't see why the first lady should need to look better than, say, the Secretary of State. Someone with a real job.

Sue

MayBee,

Good points, but of all the things the spend money on, having a stylist for the 1st lady doesn't bother me so much. That the stylist is making her look the fool is my problem.

Ignatz

Wait. You mean this Ikram Goldman advising Michelle Antoinette is the Cherry Jello Parfait disaster on the left above and not the nattily dressed David McCallum-after-a-stretch-in-Birkenau on the right?

Since we've been attributing things to Jesus lately, didn't He say something about the blind leading the blind into a pit, or was it an ill fitting tarpaulin with a boob belt?

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

So apparently the new moonbat talking points are to get Paul Ryan. They have him in their crosshairs and are planning to target him because he wants to cut spending.

AS I have said previously, Paul Ryan is the one person I would name king, so I've got a few issues with that.

SunnyDay

OT - you'll love this! LUN

Wow.

SunnyDay

Ikram Goldman might be on someone else's payroll? :D

clarice

Sunny Day links to a pice indicating Cantor has invited Pelosi to sit with him. She hasn't responded yet. If she doesn't,,,bingo to that Dem trick..Ha

MayBee

I have been really surprised to see how many of the Hollywood stylists are absolute pigs. Rachel Zoe is rail-thin and wears high fashion, but some of the others..... (and I don't mean just pigs in the way they look. Sloppy, rude, poorly dressed)

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Oh I cannot imagine Pelosi will accept that invitation. I suspect she thinks lightening will strike her if she sits on the right side of the aisle.

narciso

So apparently they can't tie Manning to Assange, in s counterintel that incompetent,
that's not a rhetorical question

Rick Ballard

Contra Cantor

Monty writes on market/economic issues at Ace's and supports extending bankruptcy laws to include states. I'm rather firmly on the Cantor side due to my concern that the extension would be tweaked to provide statutory protection to the very people destroying the Blue Hells via establishment of "protected" classes which would include public employees and their health/pension benefits.

I also feel that the rotting remnants of the Blue Hells choosing the socialist road to ruin serve as salutary reminders to the citizens of states which have not embarked on that particular misadventure. Additionally, Wisconsin is providing evidence that the possibility exists for a reversal of course prior to ruination being accomplished.

Monty ends with:

The answer is not a federal bailout, certainly. Nor is the answer a grinding decade-long period of stagnant growth and declining quality of life as the various cities and states slowly grind to a halt, their backs broken by pension and healthcare obligations.

I see no reason not to root for breaking the backs of Blue Hells. Their citizens are not chained in place and if the will or numbers to effect change are insufficient, then the productive are free to leave the parasites to feed off of an ever shrinking host.

narciso

Frank J delivers the appropriate response, in the LUN

Sue

Nor is the answer a grinding decade-long period of stagnant growth and declining quality of life

I wonder if any of these people are from the same stock that crossed oceans to get to New York or prairies, deserts and mountains to get to California? They certainly don't seem to have any of the pioneering spirit this country was built on.

Army of Davids

Tom Donahue, head of the Chamber of Commerce on the healthcare bill...."a job killer"

Anyone that doesn't think the uncertainty, mandates, regulations and taxes implicit in the bill aren't a significant headwind to job formation either doesn't want to see it...or hasn't thought about it.

PD

I see no reason why, in addition to cooks, housecleaners, drivers, and social secretaries the American people need to pay for her personal stylists.

Laura Bush in her recent book mentioned that stylists are paid for out of pocket by the first couple.

Until now, I guess. Another "unprecedented."

Sue

Janet,

That red number that Ikram is wearing is a designer dress. Lanvin Paris. Seriously.

Danube of Thought

Nor is the answer a grinding decade-long period of stagnant growth and declining quality of life as the various cities and states slowly grind to a halt, their backs broken by pension and healthcare obligations.

To each his own, but to me that seems like a mighty fine answer. Pour encourager les autres, as they used to say in the Legion when someone was executed.

Didn't sail, but I only remember that his action was reasonable.

Or for a brave admiral incorrectly tagged cowardly for political reasons.
===========

Rob Crawford

That red number that Ikram is wearing is a designer dress. Lanvin Paris. Seriously.

Really? I thought it was Christo.

Danube of Thought

"At twelve Mr. Byng was shot."

Failure to do his utmost, don't you know.

Sue

Rob,

That it wasn't something done up in Homemaking I class surprised me.

Janet

That it wasn't something done up in Homemaking I class surprised me.

Hahahaha...I think I MADE that dress in Homemaking I!...& got a D. A circle D!
Hahahaha

clarice

Heh, narciso. And I agree the Assange story is really something. Does it mean we have no idea of the source of his classified docs?

clarice

I was terrible in the sewing part of home ec class--Ikram's outfits and a lot of MO;s, including the grey suit, look like my work then. I guess I was just too too fashion forward.

Sue

My grandmother could sew anything. She could use a machine or hand stitch pleats that were to die for. And I hated wearing my homemade clothes. Mother did too. After arthritis took my grandmother's ability to sew away, we all realized how lucky we were. She could take an old feed sack and turn it into the cutest darned play dress you ever saw. We were the best dressed poor kids in school.

Sue

She made her own patterns out of newspapers. She would look at a dress in a magazine or on the rack at a store and the next thing you knew, she had it whipped up from whatever material she had in her stash. The dang lady even made our bathing suits until we were old enough to say no more. ::grin::

Danube of Thought

You're always in fashion, Narc.

MayBee

I was such a geek I loved my homemade clothes.

narciso

This could suggest Charlie's notion of a second/ or other source, so Manning downloaded
some of the documents, boasted to Lamo, they
ended up in Assange's hands

Sue

MayBee,

We didn't. Not at the time. Looking back, we really do realize how lucky we were. We seldom wore a dress more than once or twice because she had something new whipped up for us to wear. The downside to that was my sister and I always had dresses made out of the same material. Maybe a different style, but the same material.

Danube of Thought

My take on it is they think they can prove he unlawfully downloaded the stuff and gave it to an unauthorized recipient, but can't prove that the recipient was Wikileaks. That should be enough to put him away for a good long spell, but they'll have to come up with something else for the rapist Assange.

MayBee

I remember convincing my grandma to crochet me a pancho made of multiple colors of blue, inspired by the color of WIndex.

I was a real sophisticate.

Janet

Same here Sue. My Grandma made me Barbie clothes too. She later looked at some of the Barbie clothes & said, "How did I ever make those?". Tiny & perfect.

MayBee

Oh Sue. We had the same thing. Either 3 matching things or 3 coordinated sister outfits. As the youngest, I often went years wearing the same outfit as I grew into what my sisters had grown out of. But geeky me found it to be just fine.

Sue

I didn't play with Barbie's but my sister did. She got a sewing machine from Santa when she was about 6 years old and grandma would cut out a Barbie dress for her and she (my 6 year old sister) would sew it up on her tiny little sewing machine. Not me. I don't have the patience to sew anything but straight lines. I love to quilt and am pretty good at it, but not sewing clothes.

MayBee

Looking back, I'm thinking my mother must have been a master propagandist. Her ability to get me to love those outfits year after year was amazing. Thank God she used her powers for good.

clarice

My grandfather was a master tailor and made me jodhpurs out of gorgeous men's suiting fabrics when I was little. My mom hand knit me cable sweaters. My grandmother copied dresses, blouses and bonnets from Vogue for me--I looked like a little British princess which was then the model of well-dressed little girls. Of course, those were the days when there was no kid's fashion forward stuff designed to make 3 year olds look like hookers, just beautifully made traditional clothing out of suitable fabrics.

Sue

MayBee,

I was the oldest so I never wore hand me downs, but my sister really didn't either. My grandmother loved to sew and we seldom wore the same things to school or church. All homemade, of course. In the summer, we really did have dresses and shorts made out of feed and flour sacks to play in. And those were handed down. She didn't spend a lot of time on play clothes.

Sue

just beautifully made traditional clothing out of suitable fabrics.

You mean feed sacks? ::grin:: Nothing we had was ever fancy. Cotton or knit with an occasional corduroy thrown in.

Rob Crawford

Oh, come on!

I make a perfectly good joke riffing on a major figure in modern 'art' and no one catches it?!

*sigh*

Sue

My take on it is they think they can prove he unlawfully downloaded the stuff and gave it to an unauthorized recipient, but can't prove that the recipient was Wikileaks

I don't enough about computers to know how they can prove he unlawfully downloaded the stuff, but if they can prove that, and the same stuff is what Wikileaks published, is it just they can't prove there isn't a middle man somewhere?

Sue

Rob,

Sorry, it went over my head. I don't anything about modern art.

Janet

I got it...Christo...the acres of fabric guy. The JOM crowd is so witty though that I become self-conscious typing LOL all the time!

 centralcal

Well, gals - expensive is not always tasteful, and homemade is not always tacky.

Part of the progaganda arm of the "Style" media is to make us not trust our own eyes, our own sense of taste, our own sense of appropriateness, when viewing Michelle Obama in the brightly shining spotlight.

I have become really resentful seeing middle aged Michelle in the most outrageous outfits during her first 2 years as Flotus, and being told by the media how fashionable and glamorous she is - while my jaw had dropped all the way to the floor.

I don't BUY the propaganda about her husband and I ain't BUYING the propaganda about her.

A skirt suit was appropriate for the function, but the tailoring, fit and fabric quality were just poor - no matter what price was paid for it.

Sue

Okay, with Janet's help I now know to LOL. "Over the River" 5.9 miles of fabric. Very nice Rob.

Sue
