Which could mean he could go either way. Dallas is not known for great kickers and we let this one go. So happy Peyton Manning is going home.

And that breath turns into a win.

Two upsets today. What will tomorrow bring?

Boss Hogg

If the sheriff was doing his job, none of this would have happened.

Hit - no, I didn't grab anything from Yankeeland. Glancing at the calendar, December alone would have netted TM $550. Then again, December alone would have made me $475.

They are saying we could get 6 to 10 inches of snow tomorrow.

"It is all Sarah Palin's fault. Thousands of google hits say so."

She is responsible for all the recent wild life deaths lately, too. Just watch her in action on TLC's "Alaska."

Surprisingly, Shep did one good thing today. He asked if blood donors were needed.

John Lewis has weighed in on one of our local news broadcast Not surprisingly, he is hewing to the lefty template. This is all caused by the excessively incendiary rhetoric from the other side. While he didn't expressly accuse Palin or the Tea Party, he strongly implied they were responsible for "climate" which encourages acts like were perpetrated in Arizona.

Injecting politics into this tragedy is cynicism at its worst. I don't know who is more contemptible. Tthose who really believe this sick line of thought or those who are putting it out there as a pure political exercise.

I think outside his district Lewis' credibility is not very great after his attempt to paint the tea party as racists.Nothing more pathetic than someone who hasn't caught on that the game is up.

Hulse and Zernike waiting for "a wrenching debate" that we doubt will occur.

Bloodshed Puts New Focus on Vitriol in Politics
WASHINGTON — The shooting of Representative Gabrielle Giffords and others at a neighborhood meeting in Arizona on Saturday set off what is likely to be a wrenching debate over anger and violence in American politics.

While the exact motivations of the suspect in the shootings remained unclear, an Internet site tied to the man, Jared Lee Loughner, contained antigovernment ramblings. And regardless of what led to the episode, it quickly focused attention on the degree to which inflammatory language, threats and implicit instigations to violence have become a steady undercurrent in the nation’s political culture.

Many will ask "why was he allowed a gun?"

Will anyone ask "why wasn't anyone else there armed?"

hit and run

I'm sitting here this afternoon, minding my own business on the sofa in our bonus room, I on the laptop, mrs hit and run watching some TLC show -- when I suggest, hey maybe we should put it on Fox News because of the shooting. Well. After three minutes of Shep I was begging her to turn it off. Surely there was some cooking or history or reality show that would fulfill her entertainment needs. Alas, after three minutes she was hooked on the coverage.

It's ok. For the past dozen or so years I've officed with people with whom it was necessary to be able to tune out ramblings or all sorts and remain focused. And here at home I could tune out, focus . . . and drink.

But not to demean any of my former co-workers,Shep presented an unprecedented challenge.

But let's be honest, again without demeaning any former co-workers. The key today was that mrs hit and run is waaaaay hotter than any of you.

Sara (Pal2Pal)

Oh gosh, I just read that Christine, the 9 year old who was killed, was born Sept 11, 2001.

God bless the family of http://globalgrind.com/channel/news/content/1899875/she-has-a-name-christina-taylor-greene-9-yr-old-killed-in-tucson-massacre-born-on-91101-photos/>Christina Greene.

Family says she was vibrant, excited about life, and she was the "best daughter in the world."

Born on September 11, 2001, Greene was excited about the political process, was on the student government, and went to the Giffords event today to learn more about the political process, family members say.

Greene attended Mesa Verde Elementary School. She was the only girl on the CDO baseball team - she loved the sport, as well as horseback riding and swimming.

And all the families of the other victims as well,of course. But my heart right now is broken for Christina. I'm glad I'm not in charge of keeping what's-his-%#@$% in custody right now because he probably wouldn't survive until morning. UGH. UGH. UGH.

I know Sara, I saw that picture at Patterico's, and the heart breaks.

And regardless of what led to the episode, it quickly focused attention on...

That would read more honestly as,

And regardless of what led to the episode, we quickly focused attention on....

New thread is up on the shootings
