Captain Hate

Anyway, I came across that today when I started reading "The 86 Biggest Lies on Wall Street," John R. Talbott.

Is he related to that asswipe Strobe Talbott who was wrong on just about everything involving the former Soviet Union; but he was the salad tossing media's go to guy.

And I agree with maryrose: Tar and feather the fleebaggers when they show up. To hell with negotiating with those vermin.

PD

Are the Republicans really buying this? Is anyone?

I'm sure not.

On the other hand, I'm in the district of Fred "Fled" Risser (D) and I'd love to see HIM recalled.

bgates

Scientists believe a spider could lead to a breakthrough in sexual health after finding a single bite can cause a four hour erection.

What's the big deal? We've known that for years.

bgates

Oh, my mistake. That said "a spider" I misread it as "Angelina Jolie".

PaulL

Thanks for the post, Running Bear.

Captain Hate

Jane, LUN to the site where the White House report came from. I thought that Ulsterman was dishing out the dirt but it appears that he's writing other articles too. That site was made for popup blockers; Gawd they've got a ton of shit running there.

Captain Hate

White House Insider

Jane

They sure do, and as far as I can tell, no new report.

I just watched Juan Williams go ape shit over NPR on Hannity.

DebinNC

WSJ: "The recall committees have 60 days to collect signatures in districts equal to 25% of the votes cast there in the last gubernatorial election. A recall election would then be held six weeks later between the senator and a candidate who gathered 400 signatures."

So there could be multiple 400 signature getting candidates on the ballot with the recalled person?

Captain Hate

They sure do, and as far as I can tell, no new report.

No, the last one seems to hint that they may have outed whoever the source was; although it was so boringly written that I may have missed something through lack of interest.

I just watched Juan Williams go ape shit over NPR on Hannity.

Well with that it's personal for Juan; too bad he can't connect a few adjoining dots and get the bigger picture.

Speaking of not connecting dots, LUN for somebody who might be right but he's so damn annoying in making his point that by the end you just want him to STFU. Maybe he's the new Thomas Frank for the WSJ.

Sara (Pal2Pal)

Miss Him Yet? You betcha'!

An oldie but goodie guaranteed to make you smile.

Danube of Thought

Strobe Talbott was responsible for Time Magazine's awarding Man of the Decade to Gorbachev instead of Ronaldus Maximus. He is now president of the Brookings Institution. He is a low turd of a man.

maryrose

I agree with Hannity-Juan should sue NPR. Schiller called him a bigot and uninformed and not professional or objective. This Schiller seems to be a real douchebag.

Yes, narciso, that is his main failure.

Bravo, Rocco!

LOL Rocco!
I remember the first time I saw that dress on Michelle. I thought she had been hit with the ugly stick.

Ah yes, the Black Widow dress, only to be outdone in hidiousity by the "Grandma's bedspread on steroids" dress.

Hey Dave, have you checked out the Braxton site that there's a thread at Speakeasy about?

CH, no -- I only get over there once in a while because there's so little traffic.

Captain Hate

Yeah the place has turned into a mausoleum but check out the thread.

I will.
I was listening to and enjoying this show, but when I got to the 3rd segment I got POed and turned it off. He should know better. It's a cliche, but if it weren't for the American flag he so hates he'd likely be speaking German.

I think the first time the sheikh scam was played...

Notice how it was no-big-deal having some Muslim outfit offering 5 million dollars. How common is this? The useful idiot is eating his lovely lunch, drinking, & yucking it up with some Muslim Brotherhood offshoot!! Do these transactions occur frequently?

clarice

The scammers sent a limo to bring the NPR folks to the lunch which was a Cafe Milano, a prime spot to see and be seen, in D.C. They knew what they were doing.

As I said, I expect the luncheon wasn't much different than the actual pre-dpnation meetings between Arab donors and the universities and other "charitable institutions" which take their money.

Extraneus

Well I sent Project Veritas gas money for the limo's next few rides. James O'Keefe is a modern-day hero.

A link from Gov. Walker's Facebook page -

Strange But True Provisions of Collective Bargaining

Henry

Thanks Janet, Walker needs to push that more. Otherwise I saw saw that Idaho's legislature just passed a similar bill to curtail teachers unions (LUN). I guess WI gets to hold them by the nose while everybody else kicks them in the a**. : )

jimmyk

Apparently Obama's budget increases NPR funding by seven percent. No wonder they love him. How could an entity that's dependent on the dole by anything but pro-Democrat?

Janet

I linked this up-thread, but for YouToo a good idea would be for the Congressmen to have to bring their own reusable cups to the cafeteria. They could save the Anacostia River!

DebinNC

If Scott Walker could channel Chris Christie and seek opportunities to directly confront his union foes, he should do so. Imagine how Chris Christie would have handled this situation. Walker is traveling the state and talking to small groups, but his low key approach is not cutting through the lies imo. He looks weak to me, when he's got the facts to win the day if he'd only seize it.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Thanks Janet,

They should be forced to telecommute as far as I'm concerned.

Walker needs to post those emails on his own site, and blast it to the media; yes I don't trust AP and USA Today's account of them, I don't know where I get my skepticism.

Twitter reporting is saying CEO Vivian Shiller has been ousted by the NPR Board after video sting.

Janet

FYI to all JOMers...Soylent's return date is April 16th. I haven't seen any postings here from him for awhile. He's at Camp Nathan Smith in Kandahar now. Still mailing pkgs....one to go out today.

As Geraghty and others have pointed out, NPR's problems are deeper and wider than just their CEO.

Defund them and force them to be competitive.

National Republican Trust goes after public employees in TV ad

A new TV ad from the National Republican Trust says public employees should “get real and get back to the jobs they’re lucky to have.”

The narrator says the economy is suffering, but government employees are demanding more. As footage of the protests in Madison plays, the narrator says “we work longer hours, but they earn more,” our tax dollars provide them better health care and pension benefits and they’re using taxpayer dollars to skip work and organize rallies “at the peak of the financial crisis.”

“Are these fat cat union bosses trying to destroy our country?” the narrator asks. “Don’t they know we’re hurting? It’s time for them to pay their fair share.”

Obama: More money is needed for education

I wish some reporter would ask, "How much is enough?" "Does more ever end?".
How does more money fix anything if the idea or plan is a loser?

Danube of Thought

Remember Scott Ritter? If so, you may find this as wonderful as I do.

Danube of Thought

Shall we inquire as to what we have got for our money in the thirty-plus years since the Dept. of Education was founded?

Janet

From DoT's link - "The case is the third in which Mr Ritter has been accused of trying to solicit sex with a minor, in what he claims is a smear campaign against him because of his opposition to the war."

THIRD TIME! Yeah Scott, I think the problem is that you are a perv...not your opposition to the war.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

That really is delicious DOT.

Bye Bye Vivian. Good riddance.

hit and run

Harry Reid:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) said that efforts to bridge the parties' $50 billion difference in proposed budget cuts for the remainder of fiscal-year 2011 could reach beyond domestic discretionary spending and move into tax policy and programs such as farm subsidies.

"Save the Cowboy Poets, Starve a Farmer!"
--stuff Harry Reid (almost) said

Not that I am a fan of farm subsidies policies -- but the ghost of Cowboy Poets demagoguery should haunt Harry for the rest of his days as long as budget deficits are an issue.

By the way, what is the "official" Democratic budget cut number? I know the "meet Republicans half way" carp from the WH is a lie. I've seen $10.5B,and now it looks like the dem bill they'll be voting on in the Senate is $4.7B.

Which,besides being confusing,is very disappointing.

Because I went with $10.5B for my comparison:

Henry

How does it get worse than Michael Moore on your side? Blago endorses fleebaggers (LUN).

Jim Ryan

Henry, what's this about Walker caving in: big concessions on collective bargaining if the fleebaggers will come back. What's your take?

narciso

It seems from the emails, actually posted on JSonline, are they the only ones who do any
journalism, anywhere, he did concede on some points, push forward on others

Extraneus

My BP just dropped 10 pts. Too bad they didn't put the camera on a thicker branch.

Extraneus

This doesn't indicate much wavering on Walker's part:

Walker rebuffs Barca request for open meeting on budget talks

Walker Chief of Staff Keith Gilkes responded in a letter that he is declining the request "on the governor's behalf to allow him to be used as a prop for your media grandstanding."

"I am disappointed that you have now chosen to join your Democrat colleagues in the Senate by attempting to negotiate an end to this impasse through the media, rather than through meaningful dialogue," Gilkes wrote. "This political grandstanding calls into question your sincerity for bringing the Senate Democrats back to Madison to fulfill their duties."

Gilkes took exception to the claim Walker has not been open to negotiation, noting proposals swapped with Senate Democrats, which were highlighted in emails released earlier today. He cast blame on Senate Minority Leader Mark Miller for "standing in the way of a solution to this impasse."

Henry

Jim, the concessions were at the margins (things like allowing longer contracts than 1 year, and recertifying unions each year). Walker will not give in on anything important. The fleebaggers are holding out to protect the flow of forced union dues into their own campaign funds. They won't get that.

Jim Ryan

Any chance Walker's making an offer he knows they'll refuse so that he can score a few point in the polls? NTTAWWT.

Ignatz

--My BP just dropped 10 pts.--

Heh. Thought British Petroleum had just effed up another deep water well until I looked up thread a bit.

Henry

Jim, not that I have heard. Any offer Walker makes is subject to WI open records law (the reason we have the emails from last week). He'll score better here by playing it straight.

Danube of Thought

They're headed back to MD Anderson in Houston. the infectious disease doc they worked with in Dallas said that they should be there in case he needs further surgery. They suspect he may again be experiencing a cereborspinal fluid leak. Precautionary, not an emergency. But a pain for them the be away from the girls again. Oh,and my sis gets to continue to give in IV antibiotics for another 3 weeks. She loves loves loves having to stick needles in him. Then again,if they're at the hospital, she won't have to do it. From Newsbusters - CBS Ignores, NBC Downplays Sting Tape of NPR Exec Slamming 'Racist' Tea Party

Of coarse they do because they think the same thing!

"Ron Schiller: "The current Republican Party, particularly the Tea Party, is fanatically involved in people's personal lives and very fundamental Christian." In the tapes he can be seen adding, "They believe the term, white, middle-America, gun-toting – I mean, it's scary. They're seriously racist, racist people.""

Ya know, if we Christians were SO evil & "fanatically involved in people's personal lives", how did Mr. Schiller ever get such a good job? He has a boyfriend that also has a good job in Aspen...how can this be if Christians have been so evil to gays? A lot of gays seem to be living pretty good lives considering the evil persecution & hardships they have suffered from some unnamed "Christians".

Obama: More money is needed for education

Dissolve Dept. of Education, take 10% of the money that it would have sucked up and spend it directly on education rather than beauracracy.

--Dissolve Dept. of Education, take 10% of the money that it would have sucked up and spend it directly on education rather than beauracracy.--

Take 100% of the money and return it to the people who earned it and then end the state's monopoly on molding youngsters minds.

100% savings, much needed decrease in spending on education and smarter rather than indoctrinated kids.

Remember when NBC tried their own version of the Muslim sting? Muslim-looking guys wandering around Nascar races -- to get those white, middle-America, gun-toting, seriously racist, racist people to get fanatically involved in yelling at them or perhaps beating them up.

How disappointed NBC was to find that their bigotry was just as misplaced as NPR dude's.

Two Obama initiatives that have raised ed costs:

* Forcing schools to keep unruly black students in class or lose their fed funds, resulting in less instruction time and more hostility/danger for the students willing to learn and their teachers.

* The cost of all the uneaten MO mandated veggies thrown away, and the cost of the new lunch police tasked with checking trays and sending miscreants back for the wasted food they won't eat.

These leftists have a "Phantom Evil Conservative Christian" that they constantly rail against. Newspapers write about him, movies & TV shows portray him...but who is he really? What is his name? What specific person has been mean to these people & not let them do what they want to do?
I think the left has grabbed onto "Tea Party" as his name now....but the phantom existed before the Tea Parties ever got started.

OT, but Walker is starting to cave

Elections matter? Only when you are a Democrat it seems. It is really beyond belief. The Left rules this country--and I mean rules it. They just walk away from the table. Just who own that election? Can you imagine what would happen if the tables were turned?

Forget any notion that you may have had that we live ina constitutional Republic.

Imagine how emboldened the democrat will be now.

If there was ever a moment for reform, this was it.

The Grand Prize--the head of the snake--is the forced union dues, collected by the state and forwarded to the union.
No, I think the "skim" on the health insurance packages is the real head of the snake. The union members look at their dues and demand something for their money. The $200 per month per employee is pure graft, and essentially invisible to the union members in whose name it is stolen.
Sara (Pal2Pal)

What specific person has been mean to these people & not let them do what they want to do?

Probably their mother or father, who made them get up early to go to church each Sunday.

MayBee

agreed, cathyf.

All of the things that are supposedly set up as support for teachers- unions and the Department of Education especially- are really just money out of the pool that could go to the teachers/schools.
