Obama whines to Hearst Magazine about the burdens of life in the White House:
The president said he loves his life in the White House but doesn't enjoy some of the ways of Washington, such as the "kabuki dance" among political partisans before serious policy discussions begin. He also regrets his loss of personal privacy.
"I just miss - I miss being anonymous," he said at the meeting in the White House.
Millions of others share the wish that he was stilll anonymous.
If the job is too tough, Mr. Precious, feel free to step down.
Posted by: PD | April 10, 2011 at 10:35 PM
If he hates the "kabuki dance" so much, why is it that virtually all of his staff are "kabuki choreographers" ?
.. perhaps it's because his "Kung Fu" is not superior.

A few months ago that DA joined up with others , the wis DOJ and the election commission to investigate vote fraud in the state. There has been significant fraud in recent elections in Milwaukee by the D's.
I suspect they found some evidence of it but whether it was in this election or an earlier one I cannot say.

A commenter to the article Ranger linked says:
Fresh from the rumor mill....
The results of the “significant investigation” that will be released today have to do with the investigation by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office into alleged illegal campaign work on the part of Tim Russell and Darlene Wink, both of whom worked in Scott Walker’s office during Walker’s time as Milwaukee County Executive. Both Russell and Wink have allegedly been under investigation by the Milwaukee County DA’s office due to allegations they engaged in illegal campaign work on behalf of Walker’s gubernatorial campaign from their County offices and on County time. Russell’s county-provided computer had previously been seized by the Milwaukee DA’s office, and if I remember correctly, Wink’s personal laptop may have been seized as well.

The Kennedys has been a wonderful movie. I only have one complaint. There is no way Jackie would have ever worn such ill-fitting gloves that they have Katie Holmes wearing. Nobody wears gloves anymore, however, so maybe only those of us old enough to have had to suffer glove inspections in our own youth would notice.

Thanks for all the BD wishes!
We went out of town on Thursday for a short Spring Break to Charlotte and Carowinds amusement park for a few days and just got back. Awesome! The Intimidator (named after Earnhardt) 200+ foot lift hill and 80+ degree descent. Whee! Yeah, I'm a coaster junkie. Plus go-carts and bungie jumping... wicked fun!
Fortunately, I was able to keep up with reading the threads late at night in the hotel room and giggled with glee as the Prosser sh!t hit the fan.
Unfortunately, we got stuck at Carowinds yesterday just as a horrific thunderstorm came rolling in dumping hail on us with a tornado warning thrown in for good measure. The daughter's new 08 Ford Escape now has hail damage and looks like a golf ball - totally dimpled on the hood and roof and we've only had it for a week. She's totally bummed about it. Poor baby.
On the bright side, Carowinds took pity on us for enduring the storm under their ticket booth's eaves (we didn't quite make the parking lot before returning to the tix booth's quasisafety before they ran out with umbrellas and rescued us during the tornado warning) and, hearing we were from out of town, gifted us with complimentary passes for a return trip later this summer.
And wasn't that Master's great!!! Tiger finally got his mojo back. I hope it lasts.
My prediction for a winner is.... Charl Schwartzel.

For anyone interested in that "What Is a Planet" stuff we talked about this weekend, here's a link to an interesting page at Astronomy Picture Of The Day. The new Space telescope Kepler, that is floating around way out there since 2009, has been taking shots of distant stars in an effort to find Extra-Solar Planets. This page I've linked to has each of the 1,235 candidate planets Kepler may have discovered, imposed upon a simulated image of the Star they are circling. It provides an idea of the sizes of planets and stars they've been looking at, and gives our Sun, Earth and Jupiter for comparison, (though I personally can't make out Earth even in magnification.)

Good morning all. I have no idea what the Milwaukee DA and the GAB are up to, but going after Walker's county exec assistants rings a bell. Somebody gets nailed for campaigning on the taxpayer dime every election, and the investigations take a while. Search for ex assembly leader Scott Jensen for an example of this. Also both parties get caught from time to time. I'll check the radio this morning for better rumors.

French troops enter centre of Abidjan
French ground troops have entered the centre of the main Ivory Coast city of Abidjan for the fist time as incumbent leader Laurent Gbagbo refuses to quit.
Helicopter gunships are firing in the area around Mr Gbagbo's residence.
It seems that the local boys the French were backing were unwilling to advance in the face of actual resistance, so the French have simply dropped any pretense. But have no fear, in the end the credit will go to the local leadership. The French are just lending a helping hand.
A spokesman for Mr Ouattara has said his troops were involved as well, and that this was the largest joint attack since the conflict began.
The action will not stop until Mr Gbagbo steps down, the spokesman added.

Born in 1982, Ayers' parents are democrats and he told The New Republic he was "high on Clinton" back in the 90's. He's from Cobb County, Georgia.
So, Pawlenty has hired a 28-year old from one of the few Cobb County residents that actually liked Bill Clinton. This does not sound like a "big get" to me. It sounds like most of the campaign people know that Pawlenty doesn't have a chance.

The initiative aims to educate, challenge, and spark action from all sectors of our society -- citizens, communities, businesses, non-profits, faith based institutions, philanthropic organizations, and government -- to ensure military families have the support they have earned."

Not really. You know what's on a piece of paper, and what you've been told all your life.

Everyone's Green and wants to save the planet, probably O,designated by lucifer's creations as earth leader trading for the light of the green lantern turning humans green as servants and adopted creations of Lucifer, his ultimate perversion of God's creation. If O s traded the humans of earth for his using creation to run existence like God,making Lucifer's creations show up and claim us to as servants of lucifer, will he go to other planets, etc.and not come back? Will he be our ruler in other worlds or more like an ambassador with limited powers? Will he claim his birthing as off earth and as a creaion of Lucifer or an equal world created by God?

The Corner has an interesting take on budget battle:
Budget Politics and Spending Realities
It foceses on this one quote from a Politico story:
A top Democratic official, insisting on anonymity in order to be candid, said: “The fundamental problem of the whole process is Democrats have zero ability to describe what our view of government really is. So basically all we do is defend the status quo against attacks from the right-wing fringe of the GOP.”
I don't take this as an admission that Democrats have to lie about their view of government. I think we have gotten to the point that after 40 years of watering down education and eliminating any real debate in higher education about the role of government in people's lives, Democrats today simply don't know what their view of government is. To them, government 'does good things.' Therefore, spending more on government means doing more good things. When confronted with alternate viewpoints, or even simply asked to realy explain their view of government, they are at a total loss.

We need video proof from now on. Mom, doctor and hospital administrator mugging for the cameras right there at the last push with the front page of the NYT clearly shown.

--"Will he claim his birthing as off earth and as a creaion of Lucifer or an equal world created by God?"--
As long as he has a piece of paper that tells him different, he is OK in my book.

Meanwhile, back in Ivory Coast, one well trained French battalion accomplishes what weeks of local fighting and UN airstrikes can't:

The grocery store and paying at the pump are obvious.
But inflation is coming fast to retail and rents as well.

The initiative aims to educate, challenge, and spark action from all sectors of our society
WE don't need to be educated by government. My church already has a military ministry...care pkgs., care for the wounded & their visiting families at Walter Reed, babysitting, airport shuttle, supporting small groups for military families that attend MBC, ... all kinds of stuff.

From Deb's quote:
On Tuesday, the President and the Vice President will deliver remarks at the launch of the First Lady and Dr. Jill Biden's national initiative to support and honor America's service members and their families at the White House.
And they've tapped Stanley McChrystal to help lead it.
That right there is a job created or saved.
