Wow, that Kamado Grill is a thing of beauty. I am not even shopping for grills . . . it would be like a piece of sculptural art outdoors.

Rocco

From Mel's Blago link

One unpleasant possibility comes to mind: Fitzgerald has no interest in uncovering the identity of whoever tipped off Blago because, like the Justice Department did for former deputy secretary of state Richard Armitage in the Plame affair, the leaker's identity is being protected for political reasons.

The leak had to come from the DOJ right? So who's Fitz trying to protect, Obama?

clarice

It might appear so, Rocco.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Oh I'm sure it is Obama.

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

What do you guys think is the big story or stories of the week?

Sara, re: Wisconsin's improved business climate. That is from a CEO Magazine survey (conducted annually along with the monthly CEO Confidence Index. It is based on participating CEO perceptions of business climate along several dimensions -- I gave my copy of the results to a local politician to point out the lack of improvement in our tax / regulatory score.

The thinking (per above politician) is Gov Walker's repeated statement that "Wisconsin is Open for Business" is driving the ratings. Some concrete actions help -- tort reform & reorg of the Commerce Dept to a business concierge service have become law. Standing up to unions in a way that got national attention didn't hurt either.

Also important is Walker's agenda for after the state budget passes -- this will include investment incentives and regulatory reform (tax reductions have to wait dammit.

Overall I'd put the change to the Commerce Dept as most important because that is what CEO's thinking about WI will experience first. Check this post for how important a concierge approach is to businesses.

What do you guys think is the big story or stories of the week?

The popularity of the campaign slogan, "Win The Future"?

I'm convinced marketing departments are full of leftists too...in politics & in commercial marketing.

So, it looks like the rebels have 'retweeted' themselves back in power, in Misurata, this week, what's the explanation for the drop in gas prices,

Captain Hate

Per Laura Ingraham last night at the Common-Fest BOzo let loose with "I was a creative writer". Apes eating figs in underwater caves FTL.

So, I think the conservative world should spread the word that Obama is the person being protected by Fitzgerald. Sounds like a job for Trump-Man!

My brother bought a Kamado pot for $30 in the Saigon PX on his way home in 1967. Still uses it.

Minus 12 at Raz today; 47% overall.

"n his choice of advisors"
"Patel, a Muslim activist, has, like his advisee, close ties to another infamous America hater. That would be none other than Obama biographer Bill Ayers."

"Patel explained how he used religion to channel his rage toward America:"

Meanwhile Christian Americans just sit here and allow this insanity.

Does Obama actually have anyone advising him that does not hate America?

It's rare when Maverick misses the point so completely, is it any wonder that I voted for
his wingman, and not him:

The number of Republicans ( or so-called Republicans) who have been led to believe by someone that they can actually become President of the USA. Has anyone ever made a study as to where the money used on failed runs for the Presidency goes? My guess is that 75% or more ends up in the hands of leftists.

My 09:44: was supposed to say I thought it was the big story of the week.

Janet

Ayers & Dohrn helped Patel with his book too. They were running a publishing outfit out of their house! Perhaps that is a first step in prepping a leftist radical to be brought into the mainstream...get him/her published. The useful idiot elites salivate over published intellectuals.

Here's the collapse story, as far as gas and crude are concerned.

Danube of Thought

Does anybody know when the oil execs are going to testify, and whether it will be on C-span?

centralcal

Earlier today Mark Knoller tweeted this:

Pres Obama blames high unemployrate rate on "huge layoffs of government workers" at federal, state and local levels.

Jim Geraghty at NRO completely exposes the multiple lies in that statement.

It all feels like the Valentine's bogus crop report, refinery capacity isn't up, oil production, even counting the Bakken, is down

Obama is a liar and he's just not that smart.

Ccal, that reminds me of this McClintock speech:

Captain Hate

Now that we're stuck with McCain for another 5+ years he's obviously into his Spring Offensive to get back in good graces with his MFM buds. Ironically he'd have never lost that tummy rubbing status if he'd have continued being unsuccessful in his bid to be the Repub presidential nominee. I hate to rag on teh Sarah, but she erred badly in supporting this backstabber out of some misplaced feeling of loyalty which would never be reciprocated.

Rob Crawford

It all feels like the Valentine's bogus crop report, refinery capacity isn't up, oil production, even counting the Bakken, is down

The conspiracy-minded would think that the high prices started to spur domestic development despite government obstruction, and that the crash in gas futures puts an end to it.

Danube of Thought

Beautiful (from AP):

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's main idea for getting quality health care at less cost was in jeopardy Wednesday after key medical providers called his administration's initial blueprint so complex it's unworkable. Just over a month ago, the administration released long-awaited draft regulations for "accountable care organizations," networks of doctors and hospitals that would collaborate to keep Medicare patients healthier and share in the savings with taxpayers.
Melinda Romanoff

Narciso + Rob-

It's simpler than that, just a hot money trade by the HF industry.

No demand at all, leaving a supply overhang, like a wave that's too big to surf.

cathyf

With the gasoline prices crashing, are we going to have congressional hearings about consumers gouging the oil companies?

Danube of Thought

Here's the whole thing on the Obamacare nightmare.

Hey cc, it's not far from Fresno to one of our favorite areas; Cambria and Morro Bay on the coast.

Is it wrong of me to enjoy this pic of Harry Reid?

Rick Ballard

Narciso,

Worldwide demand refuses to comply with the world central planning directive generated by the World Bank and the IMF. Rail traffic reports here in the States indicate a lack of compliance with Federal growth mandates as well.

On a brighter note - the economy appears to be reaching the level of stasis required for central planning to be truly effective. Pulse, respiration and blood pressure are now undetectable so the patient can be described as resting very comfortably.

narciso

Isn'r demand fairly constant, we don't have fewer people, they may not be housed for long,
or even be employed, but they still rely on
fuel for their daily needs,

centralcal

So true, Ignatz. I always forget about them because I lived for 30 years in a small farm town that was just a 45 minute to hour drive from the whole Monterey Bay area. So Cambria, San Luis Obispo, et al., were visited only occasionally due to the longer drive. We still vacation in the Aptos-Capitola area every year during the summer, even though the drive is longer now from Fresno.

Demand goes up and down. Quite a bit, as a matter of fact, and has been under pressure for some time, even as new sources come on line. Also, the trade is a bit muddled because traders are buying in the spot (cash, as indeliverable NOW) and storing it in tankers for delivery later, because the prices are so much higher, futher out. And the future prices are higher than the actual cost associated with storing it.

Biz name for it is "playing the contango".

How dare these companies deviate from the five year plan: http://www.cnbc.com/id/43003679

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

John Kerry just sent me a "For your eyes only" letter. He has asked me to be a firewall against the really really evil people who hate gays and the middle class. You know them - the ones who got tax cuts for the rich, and are threatening my health care.

He tells me they are not "flawed people" they just have "flawed priorities" that lie with special interests.

How nice of him to care.

narciso

Well you have to give him that, he's as dumb
in private, as he is publiclly,

Meanwhile, Whiskey Tango, this seems like a Clapper moment:

Porchlight

Obama is a liar and he's just not that smart.

But he has almost the entire MSM stiff arming for him in the front and covering up for him in the rear. Unless that changes I am pretty worried about 2012.

PD

With the gasoline prices crashing, are we going to have congressional hearings about consumers gouging the oil companies?

Congress can solve that with price supports.

I.e., no matter what happens, Congress must get its fingers in the works. Can't let the market take care of things.

clarice

Jane, did he enclose a copy of a receipt for taxes paid on his yacht? A letter from Tereza to the state of Pen saying that in retrospect declaring her massive estate an agricultural property to avoid taxes was a mistake?

fdcol63

" ... agricultural property ..."

Yeah, all those tomatoes in the Heinz ketchup, huh? ROFLMAO.

MayBee

I remember when Michelle Obama hauled a bunch of world leader wives out to Tereza's PA property for dinner and to demonstrate the local food movement.
Really. She thought the wives of the leaders of India, China, and the African nations needed to learn about local foods.

Porchlight

MayBee,

That sort of sums up the Michelle FirstLadyship. "Come and find out about this thing I just learned about that you already know. Aren't I awesome for telling you? And doesn't the government need to get involved ASAP?"

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

Jane, did he enclose a copy of a receipt for taxes paid on his yacht?

Clarice,

I brought it to the radio station with me and Dick went ballistic because Kerry only had to pay 8.9 cents for a stamp to ask me for money. He plans to go to the broke post office and demand his stamps for the same price. Good for him.

MayBee

"What? Millions of people in your countries grow their own food to survive? They only have access to local markets? I had no idea you were all so trendy!!"
