From Iowahawk tweet about Ace:

iowahawkblog David Burge
How does @AceofSpadesHQ perfectly predict @RepWeiner's every move? Because... he IS REP WEINER #DrJeckyllAndMisterWeiner

bunky

At boarding school we had an 80 year old prof always saying some monarch had "pulled a boner" when he effed up somehow. Now I get it.

Captain Hate

Favre lost a lot of man-cards in his final season between being an embarrassment on the field and making an ass out of himself by getting sucked into the orbit of the only bigger attention whore.

lyle

making an ass out of himself by getting sucked into the orbit of the only bigger attention whore.

But you've gotta admit, she had a pair of nice qualities going for her.

MayBee

Gad, Ace's twitter feed is funny.

peter

Weiner ain't that smart-- he didn't get into Stuyvesant, whose standards are so low they accepted Eric Holder

lyle

What is it about the fluffer media that they have to constantly remind everyone else how "savvy" or "smart" their porn stars politicians are. Overcompensation?

narciso

Because otherwise, people would figure out they are nothing of the kind,

Captain Hate

Yes lyle, there were two big reasons to contact Jenn Sterger. Actually when she was at Free Shoes Florida State University she used to visit other ACC schools', including Maryland's, Scout bbs and interact with posters there. She was very good at using her assets effectively combined with a good line of gab to stimulate conversation. It's one thing to watch a bunch of internet geeks tripping all over their online johnsons and another to see an enneffell icon doing the same in real life.

Captain Hate

Dumber than Steadman? Unpossible.

Danube of Thought

The comely coed's mom is now calling for Weiner to come clean.

lyle

Well put, CH. Favre's actions last year were beyond embarrassing for him and most NFL fans. Cringeworthy. I've seen aging divas who won't leave the stage exit more gracefully than BF. He didn't just fall into the orchestra pit, he nosedived into the dumpster out back.

lyle

The comely coed's mom is now calling for Weiner to come clean.

Methinks it's a little too late for those tidy whities to...ahem, come clean.

MayBee

I'm trying to figure out what would distress me more. Finding out my husband had sex with another woman, or finding out he was sending out junk photos to random women.

centralcal

Vicious.

Breathtakingly mean spirited.

Words Rush used to describe the GOP, Republican attacks on Palin.

Rocco

Maybe that picture does belong to Weiner but it isn't a picture of him? Know what I mean?

Captain Hate

I've seen aging divas who won't leave the stage exit more gracefully than BF.

The image of current Kathleen Turner just stumbled through my mind. I'm doing my best to try to return to the vision of hawtness that was hers in Prizzi's Honor, but her current tranny voice just ain't letting it happen.

Captain Hate

For all of the negative things I've said about Rush, he has understood the appeal of Palin since Day 1. When you consider the size of his audience, I have to wonder if her polling numbers aren't being jacked around with.

Extraneus

I think he regrets that he didn't back a candidate during the '08 primaries, and plans to avoid making the same mistake this time around. If I'm right, he has to be looking at the field and figuring it's likely to be her.

He also had some positive things to say about Perry a week or so ago, and not much for the rest of them, although he was polite enough to say he was impressed by Pawlenty during the recent debate.

centralcal

Captain - in every on-line poll (conservative blogs, news sites, etc.) I have seen, she comes out on top. Some polls only let you vote once, others have no restrictions, yet she always beats every other candidate listed.

I don't think it is a Ron Paul vote swarm kinda thing either.

anduril

The appeal of Palin--to the stupid people.

centralcal

So, Rush had a "top-secret" meeting yesterday (his words, not mine). Any guesses with whom?

narciso

Didn't he support Romney, if only in opposition to McCain, as did Coulter,
Beck, Hannity

C.R.

MayBee - I assume the two go hand in hand.

anduril

Sarah Palin. The woman is simply a nutter. A fringe dweller among the truly stupid people in this country.

From The Washington Times, '08: Evangelical faith drives Palin’s pro-Israel view.

ST. PAUL, Minn. | Sarah Palin displays an Israeli flag in her governor's office in Juneau, even though she has never been to the country, and attends Protestant evangelical churches that consider the preservation of the state of Israel a biblical imperative.

...

In June, Mrs. Palin told ministry students at her former church that in going to war with Iraq, the United States is "on a task that is from God," the Associated Press reported.

...

Mrs. Palin was baptized as a teenager at the Wasilla Assembly of God Church. She frequently attends the Juneau Christian Center, which is also part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God. Her home church is the Church of the Rock, an independent congregation.

"Historically, the Assemblies of God have been dispensationalists, which means they believe in 'the rapture' of Christians that takes them out of the world," said Mr. Matthews. "Central to that position is a very strong support for Israel. It's integral to their view of both prophecy and politics. Denying Israel is almost like denying the faith."

Captain Hate

I dunno, narc; I know Rush has hated McCain for years so maybe he supported Mitt early on before he started flip-flopping like a freshly caught fish.

Extraneus

Yeah, anyone but McCain, but I thought that was way late when he picked one guy. I'm not dumb enough to get into a memory contest with you, though.

narciso

That of course, was the infuriating thing, McCain, ticked off every faction, of the Party,

OT, so the booster for Hamas and Hezbollah doesn't know nuance,

Janet

Maybe that picture does belong to Weiner but it isn't a picture of him? Know what I mean?

That's what I wondered Rocco. Weiner & his staff buddies having a party & joking around. Maybe the staff guys are the ones who pick who Weiner follows on twitter.
"Hey, look everyone! A porn star! Let's follow HER!"

Yes, well many of those Republicans part of the credentialed class as well. Her success puts their special status at risk, as it would destroy the carefully constrocuted gatekeeper system put in place over the last 50 years.

DKos on Weinergate has become nearly incomprehensible. Rather than resorting to commonsense arguments about the facts at hand, one Kossack, stranded wind, has gone deep into conspiracy mode and is ranting about "crimson hexagons," the Koch brothers, Breitbart, and the sins of CNN.

He has authored a series of "recommended diaries" on the subject. Commenters fall in line to spit on CNN and burn Breitbart in effigy.

Occasionally, a commenter will say, "Hey wait, this is kinda crazy and not helping our cause," only to be kicked to the curb or ignored.

Captain Hate

LOL @ Katranny vanden Trustfund getting the vapors about somebody responsible for kicking the commies out of Poland refusing to meet with the dismantler of their missile shield. Which closes its doors first: The Nation or NYT?

Rocco

I was thinking that perhaps someone sent that picture to him so technically, the picture belongs to him. And if he's not that well endowed as Jon Stewart suggested, he used that picture instead of one of his own to impress a young college student. Note the question Maddow asks him, is it "possible that this started out as a private photo of yours that ended up in the public domain accidentally or at least in a way that you didn’t intend?" She didn't ask him is it you? His answer, "Well, it could be or it could have been a photograph that was that’s taken out of context or manipulated or changed in some way." Could a photo of another guy be "taken out of context," "manipulated," or "changed?" Now I'm not suggesting he's bisexual, just that he may have used another guy's photo instead of his own? Just a thought.

Captain Hate

huxley, don't you need a flea-dip after being around broken wind and the rest of the vermin?

Jane (sit on the couch or save your country)

I haven't read a thing but wanted to give you all a tornado update. First of all if you can get Worcester Cable on TV tonite at 6:00 Amy is interviewed, so you guys can meet her. She also should be in this paper by later tonite or tomorrow with pix of the damage.

Here is a little view into the town I live. At 6:45 AM I called a local contractor who I've known for several years. He returned the call at 6:50. I asked if he could meet me at Amy's house sometime to see if it was safe to go in. He said he was on his way and we were both there before 7:00 AM.

I left for a while to so something, I forget what, and when I returned at 9:00 AM the 1 mile trip from my house to hers took 1 hour, because so many roads are blocked off. From what I can tell, her area got it the worst. She lives next door to my first house in Sturbridge, where the entire yard has been covered with trees and it also has windows blown out.

By the time I arrived back at 9:00 her brother was there from Albany, and had hired a guy to get the trees out of the driveway. I started washing walls which were covered with mud and debris, and sweeping floors and stuff.

Shortly thereafter the food started arriving. 10 Pizzas from someone, sandwiches from someone else. Before long her other brother arrived with more food, drinks etc and a small generator.

The roofer was called and replied "consider it done." At one point I looked out in the yard and there were about 15 buff guys in the front yard working their butts off. I kept thinking, these guys must have done something right in another life, because this is truly amazing. The windows have been boarded and when I left they were putting a tarp on the roof.

There is a steady stream of cars driving by taking pix. It's the only route open to the next town so the delay is huge.

Amy's kids are with friends down the street and her mom arrives from FL in a few hours. They are planning to stay in the house tonight.

The back yard is still a mess - it's probably close to an acre and there are trees everywhere and everything else is in the pool, but you can now get all the way to the garage.

I would never ever ever had believed that so much could be accomplished in one day.

And thank everyone for all their prayers and good wishes, I think they are coming through loud and clear.

MayBee

I'm speechless, Jane.

Thanks for the report, Jane.

Big Government:

According to the House regulations, any Member “must immediately report any unauthorized access or unusual system activities to the House Information Resources Security Office (202-226-6448). HIR will investigate any breaches of the Internet security system.” This rule would apply to Rep. Anthony Weiner’s claim of a hacker gaining access to his official facebook and twitter accounts. Did Weiner contact HIR? Why is this important? Any unauthorized access to Congressman Weiner’s equipment could very well have included the introduction of malware on his or a staffers electronic device. Such malware could, at this minute, be stealthy procuring information from his office.

I suppose he would say that the rule doesn't apply to what he is calling his "personal account." But he uses "Rep.Weiner" on that account, so go figure.

The report on the coed's mom was on the infallible Fox News Channel.

OT Alaska Oil Stuff:

In one of the lousiest, most uninformative news stories ever written, the ADN Reports Oil pipeline value increases by more than half-billion dollars.

"The value of the trans-Alaska oil pipeline has increased."

"A state panel now values the pipeline at $8.6 billion -- up from $7.9 billion."

"The value of the pipeline is important because it determines taxable revenue based on the portion of the pipeline that passes through the borough. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says the higher assessment could mean $55 million for the borough."

Thats the entire story.

Whats missing? How about who the heck owns the Trans Alaska Pipeline and therefore who the heck has to pay the extra taxes. That info is not in the story.

Obviously that is not an important consideration to the ADN. What's important to the ADN is simply that there's new free money coming in to Alaska

Well here's who owns the Pipeline and therefore here's who's going to have to pay any new taxes as a result of the Pipelines value increasing by half a Billion dollars:

"The pipeline system carries North Slope crude oil from Prudhoe Bay south to the Valdez tanker port. It belongs to five companies: BP, Exxon Mobil, Conoco Phillips, Chevron and Koch Industries.

"BP is the largest owner at 46.9 percent."

I hate the ADN. Good morning.

The MSM gets in on the act:

(CBS News) New York City Congressman Anthony Weiner has not asked the FBI or U.S. Capitol Police to investigate a bizarre Twitter incident in which a lewd photo of a man's groin was sent to his 45,000 followers from his account.

Weiner told CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes in an interview Wednesday he has asked a law firm and an Internet security operation to "give advice" on the situation.

He said, "I don't believe this is a federal case, I don't believe that this is a capital crime. I believe this is a bit of mischief."

But why is Weiner so seemingly reluctant to involve law enforcement authorities in the case?

On "The Early Show" Thursday, CBS News Legal Analyst Jack Ford said if he's not pursuing official assistance in this situation, it's about not getting wrapped up official statements.

"If I'm a lawyer, and I'm representing a politician, in general, it's not against the law to lie to the media. It's not against the law to lie to your constituents. It is against the law to lie to law enforcement authorities," he said. "Martha Stewart went to jail not for insider trading, but for lying. Barry Bonds gets charged, goes to trial, not for using steroids - for lying about it. So if I'm a lawyer looking at a case such as this, I'm going to be real careful before I let my clients talk to law enforcement authorities, because I don't want to find my client, you know, jammed up here criminally because, despite what happened here, they're not telling the truth."

A Southern California high school has banned frog dissections in biology classrooms, becoming the first U.S. school to take up animal welfare supporters' offer of free anatomy software.

Rancho Verde High School assistant principal Kevin Stipp tells the Riverside Press-Enterprise that it agreed to the deal with the Animal Welfare Institute and Save the Frogs to save money.

Needless to say, virtual frog software is not going to provide the same learning experience as poking around inside the real thing. It's funny how educrats are suddenly interested in saving money on the rare occasions that it jibes with a liberal cause.

Yes, they would miss getting the only female frog and cutting it open and having a gazillion eggs go rolling out all over the lab table and making a gigantic mess for me.

Interesting factoid:

IE 8 is Windows 7’s number one Web browser with a healthy, but declining 42.51%, Chrome 11, with 14.82%, and Firefox 4 with 14.05% are both ahead of IE 9. If you lump in Firefox 3.6’s numbers, 8.52%, with Firefox 4’s share, Firefox has almost twice as much market share on Windows 7 as does IE 9.

I figure he and the boys were sitting around watching hockey and doing pubescent boyish things like consuming mass quantities of alcohol and playing truth or dare and those magic words were spoken: ‘Hold my beer and watch this!’ Snap! (or snip in this case)

Someone at the party attempts to send it to one of the participants (or even his wife) as a joke and accidentally mistweets. Autofill is not your friend even in a twitter stream.

The current meme that he is spraying about is that he was tweeting about hockey. ‘that’s not entirely accurate’ as the weiner in Independence Day would say. He had a three hour dead zone on his twitfeed from first hockey tweet and the infamous #545 tweet until he sent the pic and then quickly sent the ‘my tivo ate my hockey game’ tweet and several more in rapid succession suggesting the hacking story and the die was cast.

The truth is that he was acting like a college fratrat and knows how poorly that will play in the public. Tis why the hockey story was easy cover – misdirection and partially the truth.

So yes, it is his crotch shot and no he didn’t send it. Case solved.

@Jim,MtnViewCA,USA

Nice retort. Even smart, principled people do stupid things. Richard Nixon was, by most estimates, the intellectually most capable of our presidents, yet he famously did some very stupid things. Probably some of the MOST stupid things a president has ever done, such as, implementing the Great Society. For starters. His leading principle? Being president?

Still, if I have a choice, I'm gonna pick the smart guy with principles over the deluded, not so smart ideologue every time. That means Christie over Palin. That leaves Romney out in the cold, too: smart guy, no discernible principles. I can live with some mistakes, and Christie's have been few and minor so far.

Prediction: Palin will never get the nomination.

Comment: The further she follows that path the more she'll be exposed. She should keep taking the money and run...back to that other state that starts with an "A". The first one was too damn cold.

The furious mom of the Seattle college coed at the center of Weinergate yesterday demanded that the cocky congressman come clean about the lewd photo.

Dennis is trying to figure out Weiner's actions and motivations and mentions using Ockham's Razor, to which a guy calls in and says "The problem Dennis is you're using Ockham's Razor to try to figure it out whereas Weiner's using Ockham's Spatula."
