But the CLASS experience should, if anything, make us more confident in the underlying law. As I mentioned earlier, the problem with CLASS isn’t that it unexpectedly failed in practice. It’s that further analysis showed it worked exactly as the Congressional Budget Office predicted: it saved money in the first 10 years and cost money after that.
Now, it will be fun to watch Obama veto the repeal of this fiasco.
I wondered what my local fishwrap would do with this story, they don't dissapoint, it's
an unstory, like Comrade Ogilvy, who's dissapearance from the Malabar front was too hard to explain,
I heard Ed Henry tell F&F this morning that Obama wasn't greeted all that warmly at a restaurant in either NC or VA, I don't remember which. Some of the people eating didn't get up to shake his hand. I wonder how that makes him feel? Angrier would be my guess. Welcome to Obama's meltdown...
I was sitting in a restaurant in Aspen, Colorado on Super Bowl Sonday in 1985 when Jimmy Carter walked in. He started to work the room from table to table. We all averted our eyes and hunched over our food. Mhe read the body language and avoided us like the plague.
Isn't ezra's piece a winner?
It's so stupid it's not worth the time to fisk, but it is a great example of the lengths of spin clowns are willing to engage in.
There was a book signing at a smallish independent store and the signer was Jimmy Carter. I looked in the window. The line was short, and, after all, he had been President of the USA. So, I walked on, happy with the thought that I would never go near him.

Wasn't just CBO.
Barry and Sibelius's own actuaries and planners in HHS and elsewhere told them, before it was inserted in Barrycare, it wouldn't work and they rammed it through like the good little commissars they are; gotta make that five year plan look productive.
There are so many things it could be.
Murder--killing of inconvenient unborn children.
Lies--every thing they say.
fraud--everything they do.
The list could go on and on.
What is it about old politicians that they never get tired of that recognition by the public crap? I remember seeing Ed Koch on the street and saying hello to him. It was like I handed a candy apple to a hungry kid.

Maybe it was the bunny ears that you fashioned from the napkins.
Doesn't that part of the law contain taxes as well as other means of funding the program even though they are inadequate? If so just killing the program but keeping the fees and taxes that they can gives Obama & Co more $ to play with. If they repeal it then those taxes/fees go away
Bob Dole was a big supporter of the Kosovars in their rebellion against the Serbs. In the Spring 1999, I was in Skopje, in the lobby of the Ally Pally. In walked Bob Dole. It was sort of like the bar scene in Star Wars, what with the Clinton-Albright-Clark air campaign (a/k/a Allied Force) underway. Dole immediately started working the room, you would have thought he was running for President of Macedonia.
So I've kind of lost the thread here -- maybe somebody can explain it? If I understand it correctly, the plan was that people would be "allowed" to pay premiums starting in 2012, but wouldn't be allowed to collect on any claims until 2016. And that someone who signed up in 2016 and started paying in 2016 received exactly the same coverages as someone who signed up and started paying in 2012. In other words, anyone who signed up in 2012 would pay 4 years worth of premiums and would receive absolutely nothing of value in return.
And the CBO "scored" that there were enough clueless chumps in America that the government was going to collect $86 billion from people who were going to hand over the money voluntarily and receive nothing of value in return? How is this anything other than a bald-faced lie?
And even in the face of defeat, Ezra Kline finds a victory (via RCP):
What the CLASS Act says about health-care reform

20 miles outside of the Northern Virginia area we saw a big "Get out of the UN" sign next to a gun shop. I told the kids..."these are my people".

Is the correct answer "fraud'?

Beyond parody, Clarice, 'it's just a flesh wound' my local paper chose the better part of valor and ignored it entirely.

The OMB scored the repeal of CLASS as having a $0 effect on the budget.
Does that mean that CLASS did not contribute the bogus scoring that Obamacare would reduce the deficit?

The same insecurities and pathologies that prompt so many weirdos to become actors and comedians.

Does that mean that CLASS did not contribute the bogus scoring that Obamacare would reduce the deficit?
Does that also mean that there was no current funding of CLASS?
