Chubby

Hi CC

I enjoyed reading about your great Thanksgiving surprise. :)

narciso

Hey, Chubby, how have you been,

Porchlight

Chubby! Hooray! I am so very glad to see you. Thanks for dropping in.

My "niche" rhymes with "itch." :)

centralcal

Oh, chubby! It really was a great Thanksgiving and a heartwarming surprise. The surprise being the best part of all. So, you rascal you, you have been lurking! You had to know we were getting a little worried. So glad to see you back.

Porchlight

Yay! Chubby is back. Just had to reiterate.

Sara

Jennifer Aniston Voted Hottest Woman of All Time

I am pretty sure DOT would disagree.

I think Anniston is up there with the cutest of all time, but hottest?? Hotter than Marilyn, hotter than Liz Taylor or Sophia Loren, hotter than Bardot in her heyday? And who does she name as her hottest? Bridgitte Bardot and, get ready, Gloria Steinem. Oh well, no accounting for current tastes. At least she beat out Jolie, who came in #10.

Frau Alptraum

Zut alors! Rocco's link to the in-depth richness of Barry's speech in Osawatomie, KS is one to keep me awake at night. Talk about audacity! I thought it was *just* his Teddy Roosevelt reincarnation which according to wiki is bad enough:

"Roosevelt made the case for what he called the New Nationalism in a speech in Osawatomie, Kansas, on August 31, 1910. The central issue he argued was government protection of human welfare and property rights, but he also argued that human welfare was more important than property rights. He insisted that only a powerful federal government could regulate the economy and guarantee social justice, and that a President can only succeed in making his economic agenda successful if he makes the protection of human welfare his highest priority. Roosevelt believed that the concentration in industry was a natural part of the economy. He wanted executive agencies (not the courts) to regulate business. The federal government should be used to protect the laboring men, women and children from exploitation. In terms of policy, Roosevelt's platform included a broad range of social and political reforms advocated by progressives."

narciso

So, Newt's spokesman, had to back track, because his earlier statement was 'overbroad'
it happened to be true, but that's sort of besides the point.

Had he said something to the effect that as long as the PA is allied with Hamas, there's no reason for a deal.

Porchlight

The Osawatomie speech was a disgrace.

Frau Alptraum

Sara, I'd put Sarah Palin in with your mentioned hotties. She's one good-looking woman.

daddy

ADN posts this story Harry Reid defends nuclear chief amid complaints.

Had heard nothing about this, but apparently the NRC head, a former Aide to Ed Markey and later Harry Reid, is being called "an autocrat" with "a bullying style" who "ignores his fellow commissioners."

Thought it interesting that 2 of the 4 fellow commissioners calling him a belligerent A-hole, are Democrats.

Anyone have the back story on this?

Janet

Here is Rocco's link again.

Janet

Hey Chubby!

narciso

Christina Hendricks, #87, really, Daisy Duke
as 100,?

Frau Alptraum

Hi, Chubby.
Maybe we can have a way to check in just to say Hi! so folks won't worry as in "Where's Glenda?"

Chubby

Hi Narciso

I've been well, and I hope you and yours have been as well.

I watched Broken Trail on YouTube last night. I had never seen it before. and thoroughly enjoyed it. As I was watching, I was thinking about the odd tricks our minds play on us. We know that what we are watching is fiction, we consciously know the bad guy is an actor and that the good guy is going to win, but that doesn't stop hearts from thumping with fear when the bad guy is onstage. We humans are so weird. :)

daddy

Listened to Larry Kudlow's Radio Show today.

Hour 1 was simply comparing Mitt Romney to Newt Gingrich in regard to Supply side economics. Kudlow kept saying that he was not taking sides, but pretty much the entire hour detailed how Gingrich has and had been a Supply sider, deeply involved with Reagan and Jack Kemp from way way back, and that Mitt in 1994, when running against Ted Kenndy for Massachusetts Senator, was actually running ads criticizing Reaganomics and heavily criticizing Steve Forbes.

Don't know how Kudlow is viewed out there, but it sure came across as advantage Newt if their personal history as Supply Side Economics supporters is the grading benchmark.

Chubby

Porchlight.

My "niche" rhymes with "itch" too!!!!!

Yay!!!!!

Jane

Where and when is the debate?

Chubby

daddy,

this is a bit old, but I've been wanting to ask you if you are following this particular story?

Kivalina claims climate change cover-up by energy companies

LUN

((A key Kivalina argument charges that the energy companies are engaged in a conspiracy to cover up the link between their emissions and the earth's warming temperatures. A similar argument proved pivotal decades ago in helping smokers prevail in court against tobacco giants.))

centralcal

Jane: ABC in only minutes from now.

Threadkiller

I first read your niche has an itch. Time to get my eyes checked.

pagar

Good to hear from you Chubby!

Threadkiller

Hi Chubby! I hope you are well.

narciso

Kudlow has had an interesting evolution, that belies his seemingly always Reaganite veneer

he was SDS at the U Rochester, then he mellowed out worked Duffy, along with Clinton
and Medved, did research for the Fed, segued
into the Moynihan campaign, back when he was
right off the UN shindig;

Yes, Newt had has his slip ups, but in terms of actual policies he's been solid, whereas Romney whenever possible has tended
to stray as in the '94 race, now they went
after North and Jeb, that year, but maybe
if he didn't seem like he was ashamed of being a Republican, in short the campaign
that Scott Brown ran, maybe he might have done better.

daddy

Jane,

Just about to start on ABC news.

Chubby

Frau,

maybe the thing to do is pre-announce our sabbaticals?

my mouth literally watered reading about your meal that featured the red cabbage dish. :)

Extraneus

Hi Chubby!

So I checked the Talisman Italian Cookbook by Ada Boni, which my mother had a falling-apart copy of, and I see there are several tripe recipes (as well as others for sweetbreads, etc). Trippe Alla Milanese looks like it might be close.

Cook tripe in water, salt, celery heart, onion and cloves for 2 hrs. Cut into thin strips. Saute onion, carrots, celery and bacon in butter until browned. Add fresh or canned tomatoes, cook for another 5 minutes. Add tripe, salt, saffron and a cup of warm water, cook for another 1/2 hr. Add red beans, cabbage, potatoes, and cook another 1/2 hr. Add sage, sprinkle with parmesan and pepper, cook another 5 minutes.

Maybe I'll try it. Don't imagine anyone else will eat it, though, unless I don't tell them what it is.

Porchlight

Sara, I'd put Sarah Palin in with your mentioned hotties. She's one good-looking woman.

Indeed. Here's some Christmas cheer from a couple of years ago:

Porchlight

maybe the thing to do is pre-announce our sabbaticals?

that would make the mother hen in me very happy. :)

Sara

Federal agents raid Mormon food storage facility, demand list of customers storing emergency food !

I am unaware of any LDS Distribution Centers where individuals can store food. Food storage is done at home normally. Doesn't mean there aren't any, but I've volunteered at some of these LDS facilities and never heard of one that allows individual storage. There are privately run places that specialize in food storage items however.

But then, I've never seen one cash and carry either. Normally, you must get a recommend from the Relief Society president that comes from your visiting teachers letting the Ward know that one of their people is in need. With properly signed recommend, you shop at what is similar to a grocery store, but it is free. Mormons don't believe in state run welfare, they believe in taking care of their own. Most of the produce and canned and paper goods come from LDS run farms/canning plants, etc. Our Ward had responsibility for a chicken ranch and before the bottom dropped out, a tuna cannery. The Distribution Center got all the eggs they needed for redistribution, the rest were sold thru word of mouth. I used to have orders for about 70 flats of eggs every Thursday just from those at work. Fresh eggs at half the cost.

Why would the government be doing this?

centralcal

Diane is already a little over the top with unctiousness.

Porchlight

Lidia Bastianich has a Trippa alla Romana recipe, Ext.

Chubby

centralcal

((So, you rascal you, you have been lurking! You had to know we were getting a little worried. So glad to see you back.))

Yes, I have been lurking but not reading every post or thread. Just time permitting.

Where is Melinda's egg recipe?

Chubby

Hi Janet,

I have to tell you that the first thing that I think about now, whenever I hear anything in the news about Virginia Tech, is "Janet".

Chubby

Pagar,

I imagine you are following the eurozone mess very closely?

narciso

daddy, I saw a link on the Dispatch to Crude
Awakening's Amazon page, but the named reviews
are all by mendacious nazguls, btw a local library had both the Rogue and the welp's book in the new section, subtracting from the sum of human knowledge,

daddy

Chubby,

Only following the Kivalina story vaguely. On almost any day of the week I can browse the Alaska Dispatch or the ADN or a lefty talk channel and come up with similar type stories.

Kivalina, founded on a sand spit in 1950 because the Fed's built a school there, strikes me as a poor argument for Global Warming. Previously most of these folks were nomadic, moving to sensible housing locations as a function of game and water.

I find the notion of trying to say that this sand spit should never change shape, and if it does it is a function of Oil company culpability in AGW is totally disingenuous and unfounded. I simply look at the continual change in the East Coast barrier islands over the centuries as evidence that sandy coastlines change on a regular basis. Unfortunately IMHO, I think this Kivalina story, or others quite similar, will make valuable headlines to the Left, and ultimately will arrive at the 9th Circuit Court, and given this Administration, the EPA, and the Lefty courts, I think it is a given that it will ultimately cost the Oil Companies millions, if not in reparations, at least in Lawyer Fees and cost delays.

daddy

Newt's response to Romney in a few seconds is going to be an eye=opener. Want to see if he hits it out of the ballpa.rk

narciso

True, daddy, but the level of projection required to yell 'coverup' when they have cooked this whole thing out of thin air.

The apotheosis of said stupidity has got to be Rolling Stone, with that twit Dickinson, saying that the GOP is steering people into
only 'dirty energy jobs' among many such
insanities, If wind and solar would have
satisfied the world's energy needs, we wouldn't have needed the 'frackin' industrial revolution,

daddy

IMHO Newt's response is the type of response that is necessary to defeat Obama in the debates. No apologies, full steam ahead.

My biased opinion in that exchange we just saw between Mitt/Newt goes to Newt.

Seems like it's lets go after Newt night orchestrated by the Moderators.

I'm okay with that. Let them all take their shots at Newt and lets see if he can weather them, because that's what's going to happen in the General Election debates. I think he responded adequately and humorously to Ron Paul.

I think he also responded decently to Michelle Bachmann.

I'll be interested to see your guy's views.

Chubby

link to the debate's live stream

LUN

Threadkiller

No view, daddy. Literally. Local news has blocked the debate. I am counting on you guys.

Threadkiller

Thanks Chubby!

Thomas Collins

I'm fine, Chubby. Looking forward to Christmas. I hope that whatever matter is . . . resolves itself.

daddy

Now Romney is being challenged again on RomneyCare, especially the part about it in his first book where he wrote the now deleted line saying that the Massachusetts Individual mandate should be a model for an individual mandate for all US citizens.

Perry is attacking him on it again and Mitt, IMHO, does not effectively beat down that argument, and I don't think he will effectively beat it down in the General against Obama. Mitt wants to make a $10,000 bet to Perry that that is not in his book or at least not what he meant. I think it will be fact-checked later tonight by the Pinocchio guys and it will be found to be multiple Pinnochio's.

daddy

Goofy.

Already during commercials ABC is showing recaps of tonights debate instead of using that time to show more debate. Like instant replay. All we lack is John Madden and the chalkboard.

Whatever.

Ignatz

--Christina Hendricks, #87, really, Daisy Duke
as 100,?--

Any list that starts out with the boyish bubblehead Anniston at number 1 is only good for lighting fires anyway.

narciso

No, they don't even Kessler, who was often
as clueless as Friedman, on the Palestinian
question,

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/09/romney-book-changed-to-remove-line-about-national-health-reform/

Captain Hate

Kudlow has had an interesting evolution, that belies his seemingly always Reaganite veneer

I liked Kudlow better before he got off the sauce because, at least for a period of time, it made him lose his edge so that he was being civil to the likes of that harpy Eleanor Clift, who deserves nothing better than the back of your hand. Granted it probably saved his life....

In an otherwise useful interview by Taranto, John Cornyn let slip with a comment that makes me think, despite his in-depth look at competitive races next year including Ohio, he's not the right person to be spearheading the Repub efforts to capture the Senate (granted they might do it anyway..). He made a reference to El JEFe having an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other, the latter of which has had his ear recently. WRONG! He has only devils on his shoulder: One is his drunk deadbeat polygamist POS father and the other is Bill Ayers. Any attempt to give benign or better intentions to the jugeared fellow will only be met with disappointment. Cornyn needs to have the Duke and Duke finishing school experience purged from him.

daddy

Here comes the Adultery topic from Stephenopolous.

Looks like they are burying Cain, but I think from the order of questioning Perry 1st, the Santorum, that the ultimate aim of this question is to have Gingrich squirming as probably the last guy to be questioned on this issue. 3rd is Ron Paul.

My guess is Newt gets asked the question last.

Sara

'Sarah Palin country? It's Deliverance in ice,' says documentary maker Nick Broomfield

Ugh!

daddy

Ron Paul did well with the Adultery question. Now it's Mitt's turn. Good jon Mitt. Doesn't dwell on it too much and turns it into a decent answer about values.

Aha!

Stephanopoulos says you next Bachmann and we'll let you wrap up this question Speaker Gingrich. Can I call it or what?

narciso

He learned nothing from the last cycle, Captain, maybe the Beeks treatment with the gorilla would do him some good.

Larry seemed quite cogent back then, as opposed to Kramer, who looks likes he's one step from reenacting the scene from 'Scanners'

narciso

He's from Britain, so I think he should get lost in a bog like in 'American Werewolf in London'

centralcal

Dear gawd - did Diane take emoting lessons before this debate or what? Good grief! Bad acting.

narciso

'thousands of countries' cc, but she went to Wellesley, so who are we to judge.

RichatUF

Porchlight-

I agree that Obama's speech was a disgrace. It still makes my teeth itch.

Jane

Isn't what we need a president who can say "we have to save this country from becoming Greece and that means every last one of you is going to have to give up something, and we have to agree as a nation to do it".

A friend told me tonite she knows a woman who has spent her life on welfare, disability and whatever and she now has her own maid which goes with her free car and cell phone that we pay for.

How do we ever get those people on board?

RichatUF

Chubby-

Greatto see you back and hope all is well.

RichatUF

Porchlight-

Rick flagged it up a few days ago but Barone thought it was a disgrace too. Seems my criicism of it is going to go back onto the pile of "self-reliance"...

narciso

It shares the rare talent of being both vicious and utterly ignorant, which is an accomplishment even for him.

pagar

Chubby, I think the European mess is like a zig saw puzzle that has been soaked in water. Nothing fits like it used to and it will never get put back together.

Ranger

How do we ever get those people on board?

Posted by: Jane | December 10, 2011 at 10:04 PM

You don't get them on board, you cut them off of from taxpayer money. And you tell the Soroses and the Buffets of the world that if they really care so much about these people, they should help them out of their own pocket, not the pocket of the family making $70K a year who now has to find $12K a year somewhere in the family budget to pay for government mandated healthcare.

Ignatz

--How do we ever get those people on board?--

Get em off the dole.

Captain Hate

Newt should ask Diane Sawyer about Food Lion.

Ignatz

Andrew Luck's chances of being a success in the NFL weren't extinguished by winning the Heisman. He should consider himself fortunate.

daddy

Newt,

Decent serious answer acknowledging his personal behavior, and I did not see any sweat.

Now it's right back to him on how many years you will demand of illegals that they be here before they get your special deal to stay here as semi-greencarders?

Diane Sawyer saying "But..." and Newt disputing her "But..."

Newt smiled at the conclusion of that exchange.

Now she's asking Romney should they be sent home; a more open ended question. Mitt talking well, but Perry right next to him staring him down as if he doesn't believe a word of what Mitt says.

Perry is ready to counterpunch Mitt. Perry sez he wants to enforce the Laws we already have on the books. Then turns it into an opportunity to hammer the current Administrations policies.

The moderators change the subject before letting anyone else answer. Stephenopolous says he wants to know what everyone else thinks about Gingrich's statement that the Palestinians are "an invented People."

First question on that goes to Ron Paul, who hammers Newt.

Newt responds defiantly to Stephanopolous, forcefully condemns the PLO Hamas etc, the appeasment of the Obama Adminstration, and sez people need to tell the truth about Palestinian terrorism.

Romney is essence agrees with Newt tho' not his inflammatory words.

Newt reiterates his point, does not backtrack at all. Romney counterpunches saying as President he will come across with "sobriety", and that he is "not a bombthrower either literally or figuratively".

Newt responds saying he stands with the courage of Reagan in speaking the truth by saying "The Soviet Union is an Evil Empire."

Stephy now asks who has the best of this argument? Bachmann responds by stating personal incidents of the same sort of Palestinian hatred against Israel that Newt said, but not choosing sides on Newt/Mitt.

Santorum agrees, but sez our policy toward Israel should be spoken more in the mode of Mitt, even tho' neither he nor Michelle chose to give a thumbs up to Stephy's question of who was winning the argument Mitt or Newt.

Perry finishes it all up smartly by hitting the Obama Administration for a terrible Mid East policy, and gets big applause for saying that the problem is Obama not something that Newt Gingrich said. Big applause. Also said Newt's comment is being blown out of proportion by the News Media. Nice job Perry.

narciso

Well that was 'fake but accurate' when are they going to get a clue, not to participate
in these things, who's the next debate going to be with, Gibbsy,

the NCIS two parter with the Russian assassins, was better, even though I already know the ending.

daddy

More goofy replays during the ads, but the crazy music being played behind the soundclips is so darn loud it is very distracting to candidate speaking. I put nothing past these guys and suspect ABC producers are playing loud excitable music to make specific candidates come across as calm and measured, or brash, insecure, sweating and muddled.

Ranger

Stephenopolous says he wants to know what everyone else thinks about Gingrich's statement that the Palestinians are "an invented People."

Its kind of funny because among academics that study the issue of nationalism, there is nothing controversial at all about what Newt said.

Thomas Collins

Axelplouffe must already be trying to figure out a way to avoid Ototus debating at all if Gingrich is the nominee.

Jane

You don't get them on board, you cut them off of from taxpayer money.

I'm down with that, but they are 50% of us. It would be a lot more interesting and successful if they actually bought into the notion.

Thomas Collins

I just listened to Grif-3's Heisman acceptance speech. At the end he thanked God. His speech focused on effort and hard work. Effort, hard work and God. Did Grif-3 miss the memo that now it's all about resentment, entitlements and Occupy?

Ranger

Oh, and in case you were wondering, things are going about as well as can be exspected in Libya:

Gunfight erupts near Tripoli airport in Libya

An army spokesman told Libyan TV two gunmen opened fire on Saturday on a convoy accompanying army chief Maj-Gen Khalifa Haftar but called it an "isolated incident".

It was reportedly followed by hours of clashes along the coastal road.

...

Unnamed army officials told AP news agency that rebels belonging to the Zintan brigade - who are control the airport - were behind the violence.

But a member of the Zintan brigade, Abu Bakr al-Ahrash, told AFP that it was members of the army who attacked his unit near the airport....

Just think of what a mess the place would be if we hadn't bombed them for 6 months.

daddy

Can't figure out what the current theme or question is?

Ron Paul supporters will continue to support Ron Paul. His seriousness about our pending catastrophic Financial situation comes across well.

Stephy is now trying some gimmick saying that the ABC viewers somewhere out there in TV land viewers have their fingers on some button and have said they want more answers on RomneyCare from Romney. Did he recommend a Federal Mandate or not?

Newt questioned on the same. Why did you believe in a Fed Mandate until very recently? Says ObamaCare is unConstitutional and Santorum has a good idea about Health Savings Accounts.

Ron Paul, should Govt do anything for citizens about Healthcare?

No. The Govt should be the referee, but not be an enforcer. Govt uses force, that violates the Constitution. Big applause.

Perry: It should be a State call. Agrees with Ron Paul. People in this country are sick of Washington DC. Perry has a strategy tonight that he is following. Still partly go after Romney, but much more going after Obama, and giving kudo's to points of his fellow candidates that effectively hammer Obama.

Ads now, so waiting for more awful background music in a second, and will see if my opinion of them making it sound bombastic carries water.

daddy

The background ads make Romney look measured and cool, in front of a blue uncluttered background, with I believe quieter music. All the others seem to have a busier multicolored red background and louder music and they just cut off Michelle Bachmann's ad appearance in mid sentence.

Sara

I wish Ron Paul's brains didn't fall out when he reaches the water's edge.

Jane

Why are they ending the debate with 13 minutes to go?

daddy

Now Diane and Stephy are chatting together about how so many viewers call in and ask why can't people who disagree be polite and get along nicely? Apparently they want Kumbaya.

Then they ask the candidates what did you learn from your other candidates about I think Leadership'

Santorum congratulates Newt for his Conservative assistance years back.

Perry says he really gives Ron Paul credit for getting him interested in reading about the problems of our Federal reserve.

Romney on leadership---friendly kudo's to Ron Paul's leadership in getting out his supporters with posters.

Newt sites 2 for leadership. Governor Terry Brandstead? He's in the audience. Rick Perry for getting Newt excited about the 10th Ammendment. And Rick Santorum's leadership on telling the truth about Iran.

Ron Paul. Very nice fun comment to Rick Santorum.

Bachmann says kudos to all and then gives a decent shoutout to Hermann Cain for his recurrent restated simplicity of his 999 plan.

Another ad. Get out the ear plugs. Hope I'm not boring you guys.

Applause to all and decent kumbaya.

Sara

Does anyone else think that the day after the Iowa Caucus there will be lots of news people and probably millions of muddled Americans who will wake up and say, "What do you mean it isn't over?"

centralcal

Good job, daddy!!!

Jane

Daddy, nice job! I'm very impressed because I know how hard that is to do?

daddy

First ABC ad is Fred Thompson selling Hearing Aids. Ha!

Now Jake Tapper sez everyone thinks Newt did very well.

Sez the Bet between Romney/Perry, that Perry was not exactly quoting Mitt correctly. Now Jake is saying that by making a 10,000 bet, that $10,000 equals a 3 month paycheck for the average citizen, and that makes Romney come across as an out of touch super-wealthy guy. Another ABC guy sez people will remember that $10,000 number unfavorably. Other ABC folks say Romney did not help himself tonight, that he needed to help himself, but that stuff like the bet didn't help him.

Now ABC turns to Donna Brazile for the truth.

Jake Tapper sez Gingrich came across well in the Adultery question. I agree.

All the ABC talking heads say that they expected Romney to go on offense and Newt to be on defense, but instead Newt went hard on offense and Mitt found himself on defense.

The ABC quorum says this debate overall made Newt the guy looking to continue to lead the Polls.

Clarice

excellent, Daddy. Thanks for sparing me.

centralcal

Newt did rather well, considering how both the questions and the opponents were gunning for him.

Barbara

Thanks, daddy!

ABC sure is pushing Newt.

Rocco

I notice on Page 20 of the Weather Underground's Newspaper, Osawatomie No. 2, (pdf) the WU bombed a bank in NYC.

On June 16, the Weather Underground Organization bombed the Banco de Ponce in New York City, a bank controlled by the multimillion dollar Ferre Enterprises of Puerto Rico.

Obama makes a class warfare speech in Osawatomie and another terror group, the Informal Anarchist Federation, attempts to bomb a bank in Germany.

An anarchist group claimed responsibility for a letter bomb sent to Deutsche Bank AG Chief Executive Officer Josef Ackermann and may have addressed two more explosive packages to other banks.

Now I'm not implying one is related to the other, just pointing out some eerie similarities.

nite all

Jane

I thought Perry did well and I have no idea if that is rational or a result of the fact I like him. Plus I missed a bit.

Melinda Romanoff

PL-

Which egg recipe?

Rick Ballard

Rocco,

You have to go a step farther down and touch upon the deranged murderer, John Brown, and his family of domestic terrorists in order to get the full flavor of why Teddy Roosevelt, the Weather Underground and Barack Obama selected Osawatomie. The Kendonesian commie was spouting about TR but he was setting the table for a parasite "uprising".

He's as vicious as he is stupid.

Clarice

Was ut you or was it JB who posted the Portuguese egg recipe? I think that's what Chubby is asking for,

daddy

Thanks Jane and everybody. Believe it or not, that was fun.

Credit to the Larry Kudlow hour on radio earlier contrasting Newt/Mitt's history during my dog walk. It had me well primed for the contest, especially when right off the bat Mitt charged Newt with being a career politician, and Newt responded that the only reason Mitt wasn't a career politician was because he lost the Senate contest to Ted Kennedy in 1994. Ha! That had me off and running, and I suspect we'll hear that sound bite over and over again.

Narciso,

Saw Bristol's book at the Library yesterday but I elected not to pick it up. It was sad to me how many new Library books on the new book shelves were on America's decline. Seems like a new growth industry almost.

Barbara
I thought Perry did well and I have no idea if that is rational or a result of the fact I like him.

I didn't see the whole debate either, Jane. I really liked Perry's answer to the question re: which candidate they learned the most from - or some such thing. Perry's comments seemed the most sincere and straightforward.

Agent J

So today I decided that I would try to rejoin the normal routine of life that I had created and enjoyed over the past few years.

It was pleasureful to read the post and reconnect with the different personality's..

Thanks daddy for the play by play of the debate..

Now all I have to do do is to create a new normal life style, with new habits. At age 75 that may be more then I can do..but we will give it a try..

Melinda Romanoff

Wow!

Agent J and PL in the same day.

I knew it was a Happy Saturday!

Melinda Romanoff

daddy-

Try on some Margaret Atwood.

A series of essays that may surprise you.

Rick Ballard

Daddy,

Thanks for a great job. I enjoyed it almost as much as a good Moose Tale.

daddy

I thought Perry did well also Jane.

Early on I almost posted that he was coming across as a second or third stringer, especially following the linguistic ability of Newt and to a lesser degree everyone else, but after a bit he seemed to hit a stride and I thought he gained confidence and did well. I think he did well enough tonight to make folks who might have dismissed him take a second look.

Clarice

Agent J, 75 i the new 50.
