Huntsman is out, which creates a great sense of excitement - whom will the NY Times endorse this spring on the Republican side, prior to endorsing Obama this fall?
And let's brace for tonight's debate.

Is there a bigger blow-hard ouside of Joe Bite-me than Bob Beckel? Watching The Five and he says Obama was more qualified in 08 to be POTUS than Romney is today. Then after the break he had to walk it all back. This in less than 3 minutes.
Now he is saying that with 3 plus years in office Obama is now more knowledgeable than Romney in Foreign Affairs and National Security. But was he in 08? The Progs have only one thing going for them - voter ignorance supported by an enabling media.

Did anyone mention that Obama was the least qualified president in history? That fool McCain couldn't bring himself to make the case when he had the golden opportunity (and he could have added "far less qualified than Palin," just to rub it in), but maybe Romney can.

Now We Are Six
Author: A.A. Milne
When I was one,
I had just begun.
When I was two,
I was nearly new.
When I was three,
I was hardly me.
When I was four,
I was not much more.
When I was five,
I was just alive.
But now I am six,
I'm as clever as clever.
So I think I'll be six
now and forever.
Oops, now down to five,
Huntsman takes a dive.
Soon twil' be four,
Perry out the door.
Newt leaves leaving three,
Down the toilet with thee.
Rick fades down to two,
Evangelicals Boo Hoo,
Ron Paul loses and one
is left to get the job done
Of beating the Zero.
Mitt's our ABO Hero:(

Isn't that amazing, Mark?
After four years in office he'll still be the least qualified candidate any party has nominated.
Reminds of Northwestern University back in their hapless days and how they always managed to be number one year after year in the old syndicated column "The Bottom Ten."

Germany rejects rescue fund boost, Greece under pressure
(Reuters) - Germany, the only major euro zone member to retain a top-notch credit rating, refused on Monday to consider boosting the bloc's rescue fund, while Greece was under pressure to urgently break a deadlock in debt swap talks if it is to avoid an unruly default.
To paraphrase Thatcher: The problem with the Euro is that you eventually run out of German money.

That we are on the brink of another time like that also behooves us to take the advice of these Elders and step up.

All liberals have to believe Obama was qualified when elected - - its called AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. Bob doesn't want to be a rascist so his default is Obama was certainly overqualified simply because of his skin tone.

Whats going to be fun about this election is how many Democrats, left of center types and moderates turn out to be racists.
Conservatives/Republicans never voted for Obama, the moderates and lefties did..many simply because he was black...therefore if they vote against him or don't vote THEY ARE CLEARLY BEING RACISTS!!

Speaking of names, I was curious what George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's middle name was and discovered that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, or most of the other founders had no middle names nor did Lincoln.
I have only known one person with no middle name and he went to court and had NMI added as a middle initial after being delayed by a no-fly list on his common first and last name. It isn't exactly John Smith but close.
As one who has battled the name game, I feel sorry for those who have what they consider goofy names, Willard being that for Romney. I was known by my middle name all my life and only changed to my first name when I got more involved online. But people use all kinds of variations on their own names. My Grandfather was a William, always known as Will, his son, William, preferred Bill. My Mother was Lucie, but when filling out her marriage license form, she put down Lucile because she thought Lucie sounded childish. My Grandmother, my own namesake, preferred to be called Sadie rather than Sara, yet she is referred to often by others in the family by her middle name, which to me would be a horrible name to live with, Pluma. I thank God that my Mother drew the line with Sara and went with Leslie instead of Pluma, even though most people always thought Leslie was a boy's name. Plus I hate it, HATE IT, when it is pronounced LeZlie, although I took some comfort when I heard Elvis correct a reporter one day that his last name was PreSley and not PreZley. Hey when you're 14, these things have great import.
It is an insult to continue to use a name for someone that that someone has made clear he prefers you don't use. My Dad was known in his football days as Big Griff or Tiny, but his real name was Edgar Marshall. He despised the name Edgar and made no bones about it. Use that name for him at your peril as he would be likely to knock your teeth down your throat. I'm sure Romney is too much a gentleman to take that kind of action, but I'll bet he's wanted to, especially when said as a sneer.

I don't have a middle name.

According to the NYT editorial board, Republicans like income inequality because they hate the poor. And get this:
"Fanning resentment of the poor--and deflecting attention from the relentless Republican defense of the rich--is also central to the party's current political strategy [apparently nobody told Newt and Rick Perry]. That's why so many Republican candidates and lawmakers keep talking angrily about poor people not paying federal income taxes. [They are? But here comes the whopper] THAT'S HOW THE TEA PARTY GOT STARTED IN 2009, WHEN MR. OBAMA PROPOSED LOWERING INTEREST RATES FOR HOMEOWNERS WHO WERE BEHIND ON THEIR MORTGAGES AND CONSERVATIVE ACTIVISTS SAW AN OPPORTUNITY TO PIT THE AFFLUENT AGAINST THEIR STRUGGLING NEIGHBORS." (Lead editorial, 1/15/12).
What is the opposite of an historian? A NYT editorial writer.*
Jane, call your office.
*Note that on the page immediately before this editorial excresence, there is a "News Analysis" by Sam Tannenhaus about "history vs. The Tea Party." which not coincidentally discusses the history of the Tea Party. Not a word about mortgages, Obama, or class resentment.

Is there the slightest scintilla of evidence that the Tea Party movement arose because conservative activists saw an Obama proposal to lower mortgage rates as an opportunity to pit rich vs. poor? Has anybody--right or left--ever suggested such a thing? Does it make any political sense?
Or do they just sit down at the editorial table and make shit up? (rhetorical question).

The US’s largest Marxist organization Democratic Socialists of America is moving to infiltrate and direct the Occupy Wall Street Movement into a more organized and socialist focused protest movement. Unfortunately it is not easily searchable in its e-book form, so I was not able in a quick perusal to find where the issue is discussed. However, searching the phrase "couple of" yielded innumerable instances of his using it in the discussion of unrelated topics.

He asked the somewhat pertinent and discomforting question, 'a show of hands for how many people want to pay off their neighbor's mortgage?' which had the effect of distilling Barry's opaque rhetoric to its plain essence; always a no-no in the Times world.

The 63,566 republican debate from Myrtle Beach. (Where did the name Myrtle come from anyway?)
Introductions. They are all wearing suits, and ties. The sent is blue, with red and white trim. How unique.
Why oh why is Juan Williams the token liberal oh and token black man too. I guess we have all bases covered.
Brett quotes MLK - unemployment in black communities is at 16% but the controversy is about Romney and Bain. So let's clear the air.
Newt, you promised to not attack fellow candidates. Now you are using the Obama campaign tactics. Why?
I got screwed in Iowa so I had to bring up Romney's record or leave. Remember I was a huge job creator under Reagan and Clinton and those are real numbers. Romney was a bad job creator and finished 47th. It is legitimate to raise business concerns and that is exactly what campaigns are about.
The WSJ called you crude. How do you respond? I'm not intimidated.
Romney takes this opportunity to talk about his record.
So Perry talk about vulture capitalism.
I'm a capitalist. We got records and mine is open, so is my income tax and Mitt hasn't released his. (Please Mitt, say you will do it when Obama shows his college transcripts). Perry is very discombobulated.
Romney responds. Perry is talking about a steel mill, and when other countries dumped steel in this country it failed which is why we have to stop that. And I will also stop regulations.
More discussion of the Bain model. Romney is very articulate about all the examples being thrown at him. He believes in free enterprise.

My great-great-grandfather was named Arthur Sinclair, with no middle name. We know him as Arthur Sinclair V, though neither he nor any of his four predecessors or two successors of the same name ever used a Roman numeral or a "Junior" to make things a bit clearer.
Arthur Sinclair I, II and III were Scots. Arthur III circumnavigated the globe with Anson (a voyage that is the subject of one of the non-Aubrey O'Bryan novels), then settled in America. Arthurs IV, V and VI were also naval officers, the latter two going over to the Navy of Virginia--later merged into the CSN-- during the unpleasantness.

Santorum: You called Romney a liar, should you stop.
SantoruM; I've run a positive campaign and Romney said I allowed felons to vote, and shouldn't felons be given the right to vote.
Romney defends PACs which sounds stupid, Santorum demands he answer - the crowd cheers.
Santorum gets ugly. he demands whether or not felons should vote and then says blacks care and blacks get disproportionate time for drugs.
Romney: i don't think people who commit violent crimes should get to vote.
Gee, you could do that in MA, so why would you criticize me, and not try and change that.
As governor I had an 85% democrat legislature. I was against felons voting. And I disagree with Super Pacs.

Rally held today in Atlanta that merged the occupoopers with the SCLC to call for economic justice. They have demands that are thinly disguised agitprop for a racially based takings from those who inherited their "advantages" and giving it to the historically disadvantaged. Historically being segregated for the bounty based on their desendance from slaved v the other disadvantaged who might also be on the lower rung of the economic ladder.
Some poor are evidently more deserving than others. Appalachia and the barrios hardest hit.

Santelli's rant (and transcript) at the CME(?). Without looking I think the Obama Administration had just released the outlines of ver1.5 of his plan to save housing, which like the Bush Administration's plans and Obama's subsequent plans, was a failure.

This debate is very very very ugly. Santorum says he would tell a superpac to stop it - probably ebcause he has no money.
Perry jumps in and calls them insiders and the crowd cheers.
Romney agrees with Perry, this should be decided at the state level, then he goes back to Paul's criticims of Santorum. ROmney has gotten pretty good at deflecting the criticism. Santorum sounds like and ass.

As I did my Monday tour to my youngest's voice coach I got to hear Berniece King interviewed on the radio. She was upset there were businesses open today and thought the retail establishments especially should be donating 10% of today's take, not clear whether she meant rev or profit, to the King center for the family shakedown. I mean Nonviolent training.
Anybody play "I Have a Dream" today and forget to pay the family?

Rick Santorum really got Romney and the audience was quite supportive of the points he made. Surprisingly, the audience seems quite receptive to Perry, too.
