Ignatz

--Will it be Mittsanity?--

Doubtful.
He has WASP in his armor.

Ignatz

*a* WASP

narciso

The beatings are continuing, morale must improve.

rse

Welcome back Melinda.

Left a question for you and Rick on the previous thread.

Ignatz

--Welcome back Melinda.--

?

narciso

Yes, rse, and that is certainly in the works,

Jane

I can't believe these guys have agreed to be on CNN.

narciso

They are having their own debate of sorts in Tehran;

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/opinion/opedcolumnists/time_to_attack_israel_uAiCATfZE30v7P5howES3J

Janet

CNN live link.

Extraneus

Teen arrested on flight sang of bin Laden, authorities say

PORTLAND, Ore. – A teenager on a flight from Portland to Houston who caused a ruckus by swinging his fist at an attendant and praising Usama bin Laden as the flight turned around was indicted Wednesday on charges of interfering with the jetliner's crew.

He was identified as 19-year-old Yazeed Mohammed A. Abunayyan.

Ashland police said they believe he is the Saudi Arabian teenager who led police on a slow-speed chase on Sunday, ramming two police cars and nearly hitting a pedestrian. He was accused of drunken driving and assaulting an officer. He was released on bail Monday.

Threadkiller

Mitt attacks Obama! Great start!

Janet

Gotta love Newt reminding everyone that Obama bowed to a Saudi king.

Jane

First question on debt. At least the audience is smart.

Jane

Someone should throw an egg at Mitt everytime he talks about his resume.

Threadkiller

Rick and Mitt are having a smirk off. I think Mitt's grin is more irritating.

Janet

Newt isn't gettin' much time.

Jane

That's what you get for looking at the TV TK.

Threadkiller

Good point Jane.

Janet

I like Newt in these debates.

Threadkiller

Rick should have earmarked the drones, since that is what he is doing.

I will go back to watching paint dry, if this doesn't pick up.

centralcal

I think Rick and Mitt will cancel each other out. They are already losing me as far as listening.

Ann

Did they only invite friends of Romney to sit in the audience?

THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT EAR MARKS#$%^&*

Palin would be talking about TRILLIONS IN STIMULUS, OBAMACARE.

Good Lord Help Us PLease.

MarkO

I'm not watching. But, that doesn't stop my continuing amazement that the GOP will go on these shows with these moderators. The outcome is certain to be sound bites and film clips for the Obama re-election.

Threadkiller

John King is letting them kill themselves. CNN has a new trick!

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

Severely conservative Mitt who permanently banned scary weapons for his state blathering endlessly about earmarks. Moderator, Noot, please move these assholes off of this and back to real topics.

MarkO

"Palin would be talking about TRILLIONS IN STIMULUS, OBAMACARE."

True, and she'd be getting paid to do it. That's the point.

Frau Steingehirn

Ann for president!

Ignatz

Hi Ann.

I take it Jane is unable to live blog this debate because it's dead?

centralcal

It is a mud fight, Iggy. They look like childish school boys. Oh, and did we mention the Olympics again. eyeroll.

narciso

Seriously 'if needs must' and earmarks should come up, why not bring them up, in connection with the Obamacare and other votes,

centralcal

David Burge @iowahawkblog
Romney has a stack of 36,000 3x5 index cards. On each one it says "Olympics"

narciso

It's certainly pining for the fjords,

Ignatz

If you haven't got any wet paint to watch you could always read the indispensable Andrew Ferguson's demolition of Bill Clinton; The Big Creep.

narciso

Even if you paid them, they couldn't buy a clue for a country mile.

Threadkiller

That does it. California is hopeless anyways so I am voting for Ron.

I said it. (and I think I mean it)

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

John King screwed up. Thought he would get someone to screw up on the bailout, but he had em all nodding their heads to what Noot was saying. He had to go to break so he could break it up then go on to the next gotcha.

Barbara

Good debate so far. Mitt is doing just very well. Both Gingrich and Paul add to the discussion. Santorum is acting like a spoiled brat.

Mud fight coming up on religion.

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

immigration and "faith" coming up I think he said

Barbara

just very well

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

John King stepped on his pecker again... better go to another break

Danube of Thought

I'm gonna go surfing for pictures of asses, See ya.

Dave (in MA)

Newt! Woot woot!

daddy

Good morning.

It's 7:08 in the morning in Bangalore India, and I've got Mittmentum on tube.

Uh oh, here's an angry Rick responding.

Now Newt. The other car industries were great. Barrack violated 200 years of bankruptcy law to pay off the UAW Union.

Ron's turn. It's like the Government is rewarding successful bank robbers as opposed to allowing the Free Market system to work.

What an amazing world that I can get in an Airplane (invented and developed by Private Industry), fueled by gasoline (discovered and developed by private industry), fly around the planet, turn on the TV (invented and developed by private industry), powered by electricity (invented and developed by private industry) and comment instantly around the world to you guys via my laptop, (invented and developed by private industry), and watch our 4 candidates railing at Obama who thinks Government control of everything is the way to go.

Dave (in MA)

DoT, there's 5 of them on CNN right now.

Threadkiller

Rick is making me sleepy.

narciso

I was watching NCIS repeats and rolling, so carry on,

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

why can't these idiots recognize what King is doing ans shut it off

Jane

Oh I'm here Iggy, but after 20 debates I think the live-blogging ship has sailed. I will say I loved Newts comment about the media not mentioning Obama's support of infanticide, mostly because it will really piss Obama off.

centralcal

Because Mitt and Rick want to see who can out petty each other, Bill.

daddy

Let's do it beauty contest wise.

Mitt is the best looking. Admit it ladies. With that distinguished bit of gray around the ears like Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four, Mitt would make a good Mister Fantastic in a remake. The stretchable FF uniform would work well. Very light blue striped tie.

White haired Newt is grandfatherly. Would make a good character in a remake of Elf. Can do the friendly benevolent look. Purple tie, but it works.

Ron. He could play a character lying in the gutter on a bender. Nervous tics Red tie with white dots.

Rick. Youngest of the bunch, lookswise. Clean skin, a little like a High School Baseball Coach. Nice light blue tie.

Dave (in MA)

I'm disappointed that someone (Newt) didn't bring up the fact that the whole contraceptives issue now dominating the news cycle was bizarrely introduced out of nowhere by a Democrat media operative who was "moderating" the NH debate, and that it could not have been coincidental that the regime's mandate came out soon after.

Jack is Back!

daddy,

I like Bangalore more than Mumbai. Was going to do a big project there back in 1998 but local conditions (politics) made it impossible.

Enjoy the humidity and the cricket if it is going on.

Janet

If I just watched the debates & knew nothing else about the candidates...I would vote for Newt.

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

The Real Sheriff Joe - woot!!!

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

Mitt - e-Verify. what an idiot.

daddy

Gary Lott from Kingman Arizona asks the following question--What will you do to protect our Arizona Border?

Paul. Bring the troops home. Quit rewarding illegal Immigration. Why isn't it considered trespassing and why can't we stop that. Shot of Newt looking bored during Ron's answer.

Perry is in the audience. He looks good. Rick Perry laughs at Newt's joke. Rick Perry would make a good character in a cowboy flick.

Newt questions the premise of the cost of a fence as presented by John King. Always a winning strategy as evidenced by the audience applause.

Can't remember what Mitt said. Nor Rick. Less memorable than Newt's "Build the Fence" comment.

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

the only reason employer sanctions work in AZ is because that is the only tool LEO's have thanks to Zero, and SFB Napolitano. Sheriff Joe makes extensive use of it to the great chagrin on stupid libs who pushed it - and what he does with it is nail the ID forgers

Jane

I'm disappointed that someone (Newt) didn't bring up the fact that the whole contraceptives issue now dominating the news cycle was bizarrely introduced out of nowhere by a Democrat media operative who was "moderating" the NH debate, and that it could not have been coincidental that the regime's mandate came out soon after.

He did Dave. Well Mitt brought up Stephanopolus and said "now we know why he brought up contraception" and then Newt went on the infanticide rant.

daddy

Define John King using 1 word only.

daddy

JiB,

Just here for 1 day. Expect to tour one or 2 of the Govt buildings or palaces. Which Hindu site would you suggest by cab-ride as a favorite to visit if you have one. After the debate and a stint in the gym and breaky, we're hiring a cab.

daddy

Juvenile.

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

King brought up the SFB Napolitano argument, but it must be affected by inflation due to QE(n). Build a 30 ft fence, and companies will spring up building 35 ft ladders. what does he have against capitalism (besides it being a stupid argument. For Nappy it was a 20 ft fence and 21 ft ladder

Jack is Back!

Hey, narciso,

So are we watching NCIS repeats. You must have DirectTV USA channel:)

Bob Newhart is back and looks fantastic next to Abby.

Clarice

We're lucky. I doubt anyone but their mothers and campaign staffs are watching this dreck.

daddy

Ron "Consistent"

Rick "Courage"

Romney "Resolute"

Newt "Cheerful"

daddy

Concur Janet, If this was the only debate I had seen, I'd vote Newt.

Ignatz

--Define John King using 1 word only.--

How many letters?
I can think of a few with four, but considering my contributions today figure I'm already on fairly thin ice.

Stephanie

Four letters? Smug :)

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

Noot did a good job deflecting Kings loaded question about JSOC Dempsey and Iran getting a nook.

pagar

Don't need no ladders.

Just the ability to sign US govt checks.

LUN

"The ludicrous suit alleges that they were discriminated against for being Hispanic. "

Illegal immigrants were discriminated against?

Why don't we have candidates bringing this stuff up.

Janet

Clarice posted this on the last thread at 8:50 -

"Remember how pissed we all were when the NRSC gave money to Linc Chafee instead of his more solid primary opponent..and did so without even a promise by him that he's support Pres Bush's judicial nominees?
You'll be interested to know Linc is now co-chair of the re-elect Obama Committee. Remember this when the NRSC calls begging for mney."

Unbelievable....

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

ron paul belongs in a rubber room

daddy

Kent Taylor from Arizona asks "How do you plan on dealing with the nuclear threat in Iran."

Newt-Takes King's question and does a nice job educating King and the audience on the background problems with King's question.

Santorum agrees with Mitt's answer. Find out what ever Biden's position was as a Senator re Foreign Relations and do exactly the opposite. Mitt laughs---3 "Heh's.

Ron--We don't know if they have a weapon...Not fat enough to play Otis the town drunk from Mayberry, but maybe Jack lemon drunkenly dancing in the speakeasy from The Apartment.

Jack is Back!

daddy,

Cross post:

The Nandi Temple aka The Bull Temple in Basavanagudi. Have fun.

Do not be tempted by the young, beautiful, professional high tech babes that litter the landscape:)

(Another) Barbara

I have to leave for a dinner invitation, darn it, but I think it's been a compelling debate with all four candidates doing well. Mitt started slowly, but gained as he went along and in the past half hour or so has been masterful, in my opinion. Newt's had a good night too. I even would give kudos to John King, for being (mainly) fair and intruding very little. Sorry to be such a contrarian, but I'd call it a good evening for Republicans and I enjoyed being an observer.

Dave (in MA)

Thanks Jane, I missed a few seconds due to a pet incident, but I guess it was the wrong few seconds. I did catch the Newt rant.

narciso

Guess who the other co chair is;

http://www.lvrj.com/blogs/politics/Las_Vegan_named_co-chair_of_Obama_re-election_campaign.html?ref=583

centralcal

I think Newt has done extremely well in this debate.

Threadkiller

Applause for Rick sounds canned. He is putting on the sixth hole but the clapping is on the seventh tee. Weird.

daddy

Mitt is coming across to me as hi-strung tonight, speaking very rapidly. Seems to me to be nervous, stutters a bit, and starts a sentence and then swaps and does a different sentence in mid-stream. Not a deal killing behavior, but in comparison to Newt's much more precise and better thought out and stated answers, it comes across as slap dash and IMHO, ineffective. At this stage in the Campaigns I wish he was better, since he's probably the guy who's going to go up against Obama. I wouldn't say "Doom" yet, about the Election, but I'll certainly say "I'm scared to death with him as our nominee."

Even Rick speaks at a slower clip than Mitt.

In terms of debate skills I'm seeing tonight, I think its Newt 1st.

I don't think Mitt tonight is making a convincing case that he will be better in debate against Obama than Rick Santorum.

Ron Paul is a mess.

Threadkiller

He is a mess. It will be difficult to vote for him. What to do? Ughh. I hope newts numbers start climbing.

Threadkiller

A female Don King just said Nude Gindritch was the winner.

daddy

"Nandi Temple aka The Bull Temple in Basavanagudi"

Thanks JiB,

Believe that'll be the gameplan.

All right .Donna Brazille tells us what we just heard. Now Gloria Borger.

I'm going to guess who comes up next.

I'm guessing we'll soon see, in no particular order:

Paul Begala
David Gergen
Christine Amanpour
Anderson Cooper

Who am I missing?

narciso

He's had five years to figure what he believes, Santorum probably underperformed
in light of the spotlight he was under,

narciso

This is what I was referring to earlier;

http://hotair.com/greenroom/archives/2012/02/22/administrative-earmarks-obama-as-influence-peddler-in-chief/

Bill in AZ sez it's time for Obama/Holder murder trial in Mexico

Noot did very well but he is under a Fred Thompson like news blackout by MFM. You won't hear a word about him on MFM or the clean togas, or anyone. Mitt made T1000 look like a poor fake - pasted grin, and what seemed like memorized answers pull from a tape library. Santorum did OK, but argued too much with T1000 about things King wanted them to argue about. ron Paul belongs in a rubber room.

daddy

Gergen sez Mitt.
Erick Erickson sez Newt.

Donna Bazille sez Repubs' came across as being against womens health Issues and not as against preserving Constitutional Religious Right's. She's happy about that.

Ari Fleisher sez she's wrong, and that probably Dem's saw it as Potayto, Repubs saw it as Potahto.

Arizona's Governor sez she really likes what Newt said about Border enforcement.

Chubby

Paul above all else needs a voice transplant.

OldTimer

I think they were all passable tonight but Newt was the most pro liberty and anti-Obama. Ya gotta give Paul credit for hanging in there, given his age and foreign policy infirmities.

Why, oh why, do the candidates keep bending into the propeller blades of the MSM. The GOP leadership (or establishment, or whatever it is) has finally convinced me to consider going Indy. It breaks my heart.

narciso

That doesn't solve the main problem about what he said, although he does sound like Plainview from 'There will be Blood'

daddy

Gergen just said "For a lot of women out there it'll just sound like 4 white guys."

Nice job David. That'll keep you in the CNN "Conservative" Pundit chair thru 2014.

Clarice

Yeah, if only they'd rapped their answers.

Niters.

Captain Hate

you could always read the indispensable Andrew Ferguson's demolition of Bill Clinton; The Big Creep.

Great stuff; brought all the loathing back. Those Esquire dipsticks' "concensus" is about as valid as those warmist scamsters. I still hope Slick gets the gateway to Hell at the hands of an irate husband while working as a casino "greeter" in Bangkok; although dying from the world's largest collection of STDs is at least as likely.

Soylent Red

"I'm scared to death with him as our nominee."

I am admittedly youngish, but Mitt Romney is the first Republican candidate I can remember that has abandoned tradition and tacked left in the primaries.

We can only hope Zero makes things so much worse in the next six months that anyone can beat him.

Captain Hate

I'm guessing we'll soon see, in no particular order:

Paul Begala

Don't fire until you're blinded by teh Forehead

narciso

I thought he was too harsh on the GOP investigators, and not enough was focused on how he was sending our troops to the Balkans
and Haiti, while AQ was on the march, or the
real crime in his lining up the dominoes for
the Subprime crash from the CRA to the Justice Department,

Melinda Romanoff

CH-

Wait'll you get a load of the new PBS paint job of the Clinton Admin. So many VOC's it'll make you puke at the pixellation. Hillary's cookies are given the broad brush for ALL critics, as opposed to just the rape stuff.

Of course, I might be biased.

daddy

Gergen says

"Barrack Obama's strength, his surprising strength, has been in International Affairs."

That's even more bullshit than I can handle, so off now to visit that Hindu Bull-God Temple JiB told me to visit.

narciso

Yes, that's a poser Soylent, some might say 'unexpectedly so' that's the Rockefeller strategy for '68, or Romney pere

Captain Hate

With Clenis there's so much sleaze to muck your way through: The FBI files, the convictions in Whitewater, moving missile technology to China, meddling in Israel's elections, Hillarycare. And that's just off the top of my head; Kristol could've devoted the entire issue to Caligula of Arkansas.
