That's hilarious, Gus. They never solved the murder of that "exotic dancer" that had been seen in Kwame's company and apparently Mrs Kwame wasn't very pleased about; so be sure you delete any hinky emails.

AliceH

Gus - I left around '79, and most of my family moved in late '80s. I miss how green everything is in the summer, and how black the dirt is. Now I'm in Missouri, and I smile when I buy soil to work into the garden... it's from Wausau.

centralcal

Oconomowoc.

Easy for you to say!

I hope.

Gus

Clarice, this GUS thread is unbelievable.

Of course I know Michael Feldman. He's a good natured PUBLIC TV liberal.

Do you know Dan Jones from "Interchange"?

Gus

CARO, no offense, but I don't know you.
But if you were typing in RECALL PETITIONS in OCONOMOWOC, you'd be bright enough to know, that there is only ONE ZIP CODE.

Interesting post at Bookwormroom titled Molock Rising.
Especially after reading HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius's views on humans. I just ordered David Horowitz's book "A Point in Time" which has this line - "The passion to create a new world is really a passion to destroy the old one, transforming the love of humanity into a hatred for the human beings that stand in it's way."
The left uses the language of caring about people....but they don't really care about actual individuals.
Years ago my roommate talked me into going to a Holly Near concert in Austin. Good Lord. There was some collection for children in 3rd world countries. I just remember some baby crying during the concert & I thought those people were gonna kill that mom & baby! The concert goers seemed to like the idea of helping kids far off...but that noisy kid right in front of them got on their nerves.

Frau Gartenzwerg

OCONOMOWOC.

I think I saw that on Verify the Recall, that and New Berlin. A lot of people in Milwaukee seem to have missed out on spelling and penmanship skills. Of course, it would be much worse in CA where I live.

I also had records from New Glarus. daddy would love to sample the beer from there!

Capn' Kwame's Mommy was in Congress.

This is what LBJ's GREAT SOCIETY has brought to each and every CITY in America.

AliceH, I learned gardening in MO. Lots of clay, not much soil.

Gus, since you are in the neighborhood, maybe we can talk Mel PD and Harrjf into another Kopps adventure.

" Do you know Dan Jones from "Interchange"?

No, I don't. Michael started his show when I was long gone from Wisconsin. We used to be able to pick up his show from Baltimore but we can no longer do that.

Caro

Well,cc, it is just like it is spelled. Though it looks a bit daunting.

A couple of days ago there was a couple from Madison in my godola heading up the mountain. They were retired. I lacked the courage to ask if they had signed a petition for Walker's recall.

From now on I will whisper, WWAD.

Gus

Henry, there used to be 3 Kopps. Port Washington Rd on the east North Shore. One on Appleton Ave about 60th st. DEAD new Hood,
And Brookfield. Bluemound and Brookfield Rd.

I'm in. Name the day and time.

Ignatz

--Hot chick on a bike...

Sarah Palin? (that is who I think of, right after our very own Janet.)--

I'm only posting this again so that cc can see that Garden Gnome has had certain optional equipment and other upgrades added, hence the new name:

I'm calling it an early evening. Good night all.

Captain Hate

Levin's blast is outstanding; still it's distracted the rodents in the alphabets from talking about Volt tonight so they could whine about Sister Fluke's good name being defamed. And I'm shocked, SHOCKED that Scottie Centerfold would show more concern over that than he did identifying the camp counselor who "molested" him.

Gus

HEY!! There's Melinda!! She teased me a couple days ago. Kopps was her HOOK.

Melinda Romanoff

henry-

That was a hike for harrjf and PD. Perhaps something a bit more rural and flexible for them? I'll drive up to two for a meet. End of March is better.

henry

Gus, we met in Brookfield. The others travelled farther, I'll see what I can pull together once I check in with them.

Gus

Cool Henry. I'll be there next time, and Melinda was teasing me!!!

centralcal

Better than Osh Vegas.

Oh, Mel! Here in Californication, we just call it Lost Wages.

Sounds like a really good Obummer campaign slogan, doncha think?

Caro: Clarice-ish smooches to you for all the really difficult work you did helping out Gov. Walker.

And, don't whisper - SHOUT!!! - WWAD!

Okay, chatty CC is going to bed pretty soon. I am leaving fairly early in the AM with the short people (and their parents) to go wine tasting in Cambria. Oh - the short people aren't wine tasting - just their parents and their Grandmother.

Of course, the short people have grown up rapidly these past few years and will soon be designated drivers. Not yet - Dad will be - but soon. All too damned soon!

Captain Hate

Capn' Kwame's Mommy was in Congress.

Past tense is the key. Maybe the denizens of the motor city have hit rock bottom and finally are getting some sense; by kicking her out they show more intelligence than most of Cleveland's voters, sad to say.

The Volt story is amazing, I've analogized to Homer taking charge of his long lost brother's
auto design plant, but on steroids, I forget
who are the characters in the Sting, because
they are mighty impressed,

On a slightly more serious note, Sandra Fluke is that canary in the coal mind, that indicates there is something rotten in GeorgeTown, I think the invitation to Obama
with them covering over Christian inscriptions.

Melinda Romanoff

Not a photoshop.

I almost wrecked the first time I saw it.

In Osh Kosh, of course.

Melinda can tease with the best.

Mel, I was thinking about drive times & locations, I'll check with our Madison friends to see what makes sense.

Frau Gartenzwerg

clarice feldman

Kopps Custard? You are going to Kopps Custard? Lucky fellows. For those of you not in the know--http://www.kopps.com/

No Caro. I haven't. And I don't know what you think is "so low". I said nothing untoward.

Sorry, don't think I will be able to join you and Henry. Hoist one (or 2) for me. I will be there in "spirit."

Ta-Ta. I will see you all in the morning (Cali time before many of you are up. If only Breitbart would have asked me about the importance of real rest and relaxation. Alas.)

Oops, just refreshed.

Gus - Caro is a really exceptional gal. Really.

Be nice and exchange smooches. Or else, I will sick something really ugly on you. Not sure yet what that will be - guess I will have to sleep on it. grin)

Gus, I had the idea you were dissing Caro, too. If you didn't mean it say so because it did sound like that.

I bet it was the point. Zips are fairly "blanket" around here. They would cover a number of townships, I would imagine. I know mine does, and I get fits from those whom should receive stuff from near there from me and don't.

Gus

No offense to CARO. I'm learning who's who.

Sorry Caro, no offense intended. Sincerely sorry.

Just watched Lou Dobbs and heard a great closing comment by 1 of Lou's guests.

The topic was Obama comparing himself to Ghandhi and Mendela.

Lou smirkingly said Obama refers to himself often and also often finds himself "incomparable." Then he played Obama and the Ghandi, Mandela clip.

Then going to his guests, he starts with the lefty pundit gal who thought it appropriate and said "we've seen Obama be exceptionally humble at times...Lou politely blew her off by saying she "had to work on the spin", then turned to the Conservative guy on the panel who answered:

"I'll stick up for the President here, they actually all have a lot in common. The are all 3 Nobel Peace Prize winners, they were all economic illiterates, all they all needlessly impoverished their country."

Lou burst out in great laughter as did I:)

That was great. Even the Lefty gal was laughing.

clarice feldman

People who haven't tasted Milwaukee custard have not lived. Sneer if you must at the often zaftig denizens but those added pounds are the product ofthe consumption of outstanding sausages, beer and 175% pure cream and egg custard. Top that with whipped cream, hot fudge and pecans and you go to your maker without complaint.

Danube of Thought

A couple of years ago my sister-in-law gave us an aluminum chair that I understand is called the "Navy chair." It is the most basic and ubiquitous of all chairs (go to Google Images). It was first mass-produced in WWII, and now is seen everywhere, such as all over the TSA areas in airports where you can sit down to put your shoes back on. It has been re-issued for private purchasers by some guys who use recycled Coke cans and plastic bottles. Cost about $200.

Anyhow, the urban legend is that the molded butt area is shaped from a mold of Betty Grable's butt, as seen in the famous pinup posted upthread. The manufacturer is mum about this.

Not sufficiently callipygous for my taste, but de gustibus non disputandum, and in any event very comfortable for non-Kardashians. Concerning Miss Grable I express no opinion.

Know your butts. Keep your friends' butts close, and your enemies' butts closer.

I actually am not a regular fan. I will, however, cut by Penzey's nearby, because the used record store next door is great.

It was a landmark all could hit to meet for the first time. henry stood on a bench to get business attired people to approach and ask questions. It worked. The other two figured out we were just meeting and piled in.

I'm not laying long odds for you, yet.

But there's time to establish that. (Heh.)

"Matt, wouldn't it be better for us to relocate to balmy Anchorage and be close to daddy?"

Paper today said we are the second snowiest winter ever in Anchorage (just behind 1955, but if we get 13 more inches we'll break the record since the towns founding back about 1920. Got 4 inches today and more inbound tomorrow.

A large Church's roof in town collapsed today due to snow, but for real fun, look at the video's of this warehouse getting demolished by an avalanche.

jimmyk

Great videos, Daddy, but I'd just like to know what kind of video cameras were used, like the old Timex commercials, "take a licking and keep on ticking."

AliceH

"Abbott Loop is a cornerstone of the community," she said. "It's planted churches all over the place." (From daddy's link)

That quote just struck me as... charming? nice? I don't know - encapsulates something I love about small towns, though I cannot find the words to define it.

daddy

Lot of power in an avalanche isn't there JimmyK. Yikes.

Also yesterday a local blog linked to this just released video of some tourists last year being unexpectedly charged by a grizzly at the Katmai Bear viewing site across the inlet and down a ways. It's here at this UK Mail link. Very scary, and you really feel for the lady in the orange hood praying that she doesn't get eaten.

Would hate to have been the laundry guy having to wash their underpants:)

daddy

AliceH,

We have our few problems areas to avoid in town, but all in all it is a great place to live, especially if you have a spouse that can handle the weather. Nice small town feel and enough going on in winter to keep you interested. In summer it's wonderful.

Captain Hate

he starts with the lefty pundit gal who thought it appropriate and said "we've seen Obama be exceptionally humble at times..

What a steaming pile that is. We've never seen Odummy be humble at all. What we've seen and heard is him talking about himself, which is all he ever does, as "humble" which is the opposite of humility because he's doing it to make himself look good and drawing attention to himself in the process.

Thanks kim for that Ferrara mention. LUN is that UN report we talked about yesterday in case you missed it.

Does anyone else read that report as seeking approval power and thus veto ability over future innovations and technology? I had intuited that's where the only universities can drive innovation sound byte all these chancellors are pushing was heading but this report seems to state it outright.

Jane-is this the weekly birthday tease or are we looking for candles this time?

I see a discussion of custard was had last evening. My dearly departed F-I-L kept his sailboat moored in Osh Kosh bgosh. Besides the sailing and staying in the massive shorefront Pioneer Inn, the custard was to die for.

There is now a chain that started in Wisconsin that has some stores in DFW now. The name escapes me but butter burgers and custard is 80% of the menu. Of course I never explored anything else on the menu either...

pagar

I see someone mentioned AG Holder who is always try to help the crowd who can't figure out how to get a photo ID.

"“Affirmative action has been an issue since segregation practices,” Holder said. “The question is not when does it end, but when does it begin. … When do people of color truly get the benefits to which they are entitled?”"

http://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/2012/03/02/eric-holder-wants-race-preferences-and-benefits-forever/

My answer would be that it would start when they get smart enough to get a photo ID. But I guess Holder doesn't think that is the problem.

And to continue the my Wisconsin nostalgia, there is a little cheese factory in Rudolph Wisconsin. Now Rudolph is a wide spot in the road, and the cheese factory is about all that is there, but you can stand at the viewing window and see the large vats being stirred making cheese. And if you have never had fresh cheese curds, the kind that squeek when you bite into them, well then you have missed one of the simple pleasures of life...

Speaking of approval power.

Here is one of the Obama regime now.

http://weaselzippers.us/2012/03/02/obama-adviser-references-to-size-power-or-sexual-potency-could-be-banned-from-automobile-advertising/

"“Advertising now functions in large part to keep the economy growing by creating demand for a wide variety of often useless, dangerous or environmentally destructive products,” Holdren and the Ehrlichs wrote.

“Its most dangerous abuses might be halted immediately by legislative action,” they said."

Holdren, Haven't we heard that name before?
Of course we have. Before becoming a Obama regime member, he was a Romney Admin member?
Some believe he could become one again.
