Jane

This has been out there since Friday. I have yet to see one whit of outrage from a democrat. CRT in action.

JoanOfArgghh

As a white person peacefully dwelling within a mostly black neighborhood, I have to say I find Jesse Jackson's call for "war" just a bit uncomfortable.

Clarice

The Black Panthers' action is awful. Do you suppose , however, the media thinks that if they publicize the offer they are aiding the Panthers by spreading the word?

narciso

'NBPP, I don't know who that is' better check the cables'

NK

Clarice-- you give Pinch waay too much credit. He's a shameless punk.

Jack is Back!

This is the same media who has no shame outing a CIA chief and putting his family and self at risk. The same media who complained that a WH would do the same thing to Plame who couldn't carry Rogers lunch bucket.

This is the same media who finds nothing wrong with its members signing recall petitions and then deny any bias in the reporting.

This is the same media who refused to vet Obama in 07 and 08 but have no problem finding every nugget of lies and rumors on Palin and Zimmerman as fact.

So, why are we outraged or questioning what they do and don't do?

Jack is Back!

And why would Blow name his daughter, Iman? What's that all about?

jimmyk

I think this probably explains the Panthers' action as much as anything (from TM's linked article):

Muhammad said the group's national chairman, Dr. Malik Zulu Shabaz ofWashington, D.C.is receiving donations from black entertainers and athletes. They hope to collect $1 million by next week, Muhammad said.

Raising $1 million for a $10,000 reward. Nice work if you can find it.

Why aren't they being arrested? If I privately offer someone $10,000 to kidnap and/or murder someone, that's tantamount to committing the crime myself, is it not?

narciso

After Weaver and this other backstabbing weasel, maybe they should vet their staff
more thoroughly

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/03/23/after-palin-expect-a-more-intense-vetting-process/

NK

2OTs--
1. Ben Bernanke gives speech, hints at QEIII in April; by 4th of July expect $5 Gas and $14,000 Dow;

2. Punkster 'Bam tell Dimitri M in Seoul to tell Vlad Putin that after November he can give away the store; Dimi the message boy promises to tell Vlad. 'Bam is an enemy agent.

narciso

REmember how they wrote that story, that contradicted what the CAC's own documents said;

http://legaltimes.typepad.com/blt/2009/04/ab-culvahouse-defends-sarah-palin.html

jimmyk

Narciso, that article is a riot. I liked this:

But in the world after Sarah Palin and “Game Change,” the chances of Mitt Romney or anyone else choosing [for VP] a first-term governor lacking a national brand name and experience are greatly diminished.

Whereas, a nominee for president who is a first-term senator: Priceless! No vetting necessary. That writer had to tie himself in knots to avoid mentioning the non-vetting of Obama.

GMAX

If Blow's daughter is truly named Iman, you can probably safely assume that either he or his wife or both are members of a Black Muslim org.

Porchlight

Obama's words to Medvedev: "after my election." Not "after the election" as most of us would say.

Does anyone else find that usage a little creepy? Of course he makes everything about him, so it's no surprise, and technically it would be accurate if he was indeed re-elected, but still....that's not typical American usage.

Jack is Back!

Gmax,

I know about Iman because she is a fencing competitor and one of her best friends is an Olympic fencer who wears a jihab. Total muslim but an American fencer and far to the left of even Obama.

She fences out of Peter Westbrook Foundation's fencing club.

Jack is Back!

Oh, for Allah's sake ::hijab:: grrr.

jimmyk

Yes, porch, par for the course with this guy. Even "our election" would have been ok, as he hasn't resorted to the royal "we" yet.

Captain Hate

After Weaver and this other backstabbing weasel, maybe they should vet their staff
more thoroughly

That article is complete garbage and Pinch's slurp boy that wrote it needs to be popped hard. It takes the HBO version of Game Change as "fact" and proceeds from there, as if Palin wasn't the only positive thing that happened to McRINO's campaign.

centralcal

Well, Porch, Obama is not your "typical American" in any way.

bunkerbuster

Anyone who believes Hillary Clinton couldn't or wouldn't or didn't ensure Obama received the maximum possible ``vetting'' either has the same IQ as kelp or is in very deep denial...

NK

Porch-- actually, I am more disturbed that after 'his' election, 'Bam is promising Comrade Vlad that the US will give up the store on missle defense, and cut US nukes so we are just another second rate power like-- well Iran. HELLO-- 'Bam is the Manchurian POTUS.

Porchlight

No indeed, centralcal. And he won't hesitate to point that out in situations when he believes his exotic background is of benefit to him.

Tom Maguire
Does anyone else find that usage a little creepy?

In my rare role of Obama apologist, he *is* one of the people on the ballot and I believe I have heard other politicians talk about winning or losing "their" election.

For example, here is a Presidential trivia game with that usage:

7. I lost my election due to a smear campaign that I'd cause a nuclear war. I am from Arizona and I have Gold like California.

Extremism in the defense of Obama is a vice, but I'll give him a pass here.

bunkerbuster

Edifying to see that the search for dark-skinned villains has Tom drawing hypotheticals from what he DIDN'T see in one particular newspaper yet, rather than on the established facts...

KELP SPEAKING

BB- uh, remember in 2008 HILLARY!! was speaking to the partisans in 1/3 of the population, people, well like you. So outing 'Bam may well have been counterproductive; plus when she saw the writing on the wall, better to stay on the team, get help with campaign debt, and a cushy resume job -- SoS. Over and out from the Kelp.

Captain Hate

The identity imbecile ("Trayvon was shot in the back of the head") questioning anybody's intelligence is comedy club material.

NK

TomM-- are you willing to give 'Bam a pass for telling Comrade Vlad that he'll give away the defense and nuke store after November?

BR

Hee, you think Hillary is a free agent :)
She was already in Soros' pocket before Obama.
He didn't care which one of them won.

Tom Maguire

Ooops - after seeing the headline with "After my election I have more flexibility", I am aghast. Surely our negotiations with the Russkies is not subject to Obama's politicalposturing?

NK

TomM's SnarkOmeter has "gone to plaid" today.

rse

drudge now has this as his headline with quite a picture.

The language used is bad, the sentiments are worse, the visual feels like treason.

Clarice

Surely not?

At a minimum the FBI should pay Shabazz a visit. I expect, depending on the exact words of the offer, there is a federal crime there. Heck there are over 4,000 "crimes" on the books, not counting regs. Maybe if we had a snail darter adopt Jorge.

Captain Hate

TM, thanks for cleaning cat the turds out of the sandbox, give or take a few.

Captain Hate

errrr the cat turds.

Extraneus

Here's the pic ABC News is going with today:

(Right is the Zimmerman mug shot, not the smiling older guy in a suit. Right click "View Image" to see both.)

rse

I have finished describing one story and I have documented the beginning stages of others and tracked down the documents where bo's appointees working with others describe the type of changes they hope to get in place in the years to come.

Honestly few autocrats in history were more aspirational in their tyranny than the ways in which this man seeks to limit what any citizen can know or become. It's also why he keeps jumping at these race stories like the Cambridge police and Trayvor's death. He is quite aware of what many schools have been cultivating for about 20 years now. He intends, with arne's help, to lock it in place and politically manipulate its products.

When I joked last week he must have had his fingers crossed when he took that oath of office it wasn't much of a joke. The Constitution does not exist for him except as a shield when needed.

Clarice

So Shabazz is using this to raise money and increase his influence--as I am sure are Jackson and Sharpton. What's the end result? Cops and neighborhood watch folks fear for their lives no matter if they act or not and black residents--the overwhelming victims of black crime--are worse off.

Danube of Thought

Minus 13 at Raz today.

Trails Romney by 3.

Extraneus

Contrast that pic with the one on Drudge right now. Honestly, what is ABC News trying to do? Convince us that Zimmerman murdered a 10-year-old skier?

Ranger

Yes, well Bubu is also the guy who wants to do away with the "right to remain silent", provided the suspect is white or jewish.

BR

Yes, Jack, re WaPo putting CIA Chief in danger. Parts of the article are written in the past tense as if it's an obit.

This puzzles me: "He also married a Muslim woman he met abroad, prompting his conversion to Islam."

At his level, he didn't marry for cover to personally infiltrate Islamic terrorists. So, why didn't she convert instead, if it was for love? It's so incongruous intellect-wise that I'm wondering if WaPo isn't out and out lying.

I could envision a fictional story where someone who is so eager to get "the job he is thought to have wanted most: director of the National Clandestine Service, which is responsible for all CIA operations overseas," is really a Chinese or Russian double agent, who then excels in anti-terrorism and marries a Muslim to strengthen his internal cover. No, I better stop, this is getting too sexy.

maryrose

Porch:
You are absolutely correct. To the narcissist Obama - he is the only candidate. It's almost like he is saying "I dare someone to run against me!"

fdcol63

The MSM knows exactly what it's doing with its manipulation.

The facts may come out later, but by then the MSM has been able to create the first impression, and a very emotional one at that.

People make up their minds based on this first impression, and this is reinforced by the emotional response that was elicited by the misreporting of facts.

Once people's minds are made up and tied in with these emotions, it's almost impossible to undo no matter how many contrary facts are later presented.

The MSM and the Dems know this, and rely on it.

maryrose

As long as Obama reigns- nothing will happen to the Black Panthers. Witness AG Holder on former comments of "black first" and "my people".

maryrose

fdcol63:
I believe we now live in a propaganda state.
Hannity is revealing the real Obama every night. We need to encourage others to do the same and unmask this charlatan.

Threadkiller

Vetting:

" When it was announced that talk radio powerhouse “Mancow” Muller would be featured in two one-hour Fox TV specials called “Mancow TV Worldwide,” the radio host specifically requested that WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi be his first guest. Corsi, a two-time No. 1 New York Times bestselling author and Harvard Ph.D., was set to discuss Iran and Israel, as well as globalism.

When Fox was setting up the time for Corsi to be interviewed on Muller’s debut show, he was specifically prohibited by the show’s producers from discussing anything to do with the constitutional eligibility questions still plaguing Obama.

Corsi agreed to the restrictions on the Mancow interview, and the Fox segment was taped and scheduled for broadcast.

But then, Corsi’s publicist received a call from the show’s producer saying network executives had viewed the segment and determined that it “didn’t fit,” and thus would be scrubbed.

“It’s clear censorship at Fox,” according to Corsi, who says it’s apparent the network didn’t want an appearance by anyone even linked to the Obama investigation, and claims it confirms the various reports that the mainstream media are censoring reports on Obama’s eligibility.

“Fox does not want to cover the Obama eligibility issue,” he said. “It’s a clear indication Fox is moving to the left. [Owner Rupert] Murdoch must be under increasing political pressure …”

Corsi added, “This confirms stories we’ve been gathering about the threats (against reporting on Obama’s eligibility),” he said. “In fact, it’s reaching such a level of censorship that it’s of interest to the sheriff’s posse.”"

http://www.wnd.com/2012/03/media-blackout-on-eligibility-near-total/

More scrubbing at the link. Of course, we do not care why they are scrubbing it, right?

Danube of Thought

Iman is the name of the beautiful Somali-born supermodel who has been married to David Bowie for twenty years. Blow may well have named his daughter for her.

pagar

A few days ago we we treated to a report that Obama has told the same "you are our most important ally" story to a good many nations.

I think it is very important to find out how many nations he has told "he'll have more flexibility after the next election."

Captain Hate

The MFM is strictly a mouthpiece of the left-wing of the donk party. They've stopped stumping for a national "shield law" because either they know they don't have the votes for it or the Supreme Court would knock it down. Instead they have an administration that will mainly look the other way when it isn't occasionally admonishing it for political gain. The manipulation of poorly educated people is a disgrace and hopefully there will be a future price to pay for it.

fdcol63

maryrose,

I think you're right. Josef Goebbels and Sergei Eisenstein were pikers compared to today's MSM.

maryrose

pagar: probably all of them as he pursues his goal of putting America on an equal footing with every other nation. His confidence in being re-elected shows some distinct distance from reality and wishful thinking on his part. He wants to appear to be inevitable. The bigger they think they are; the harder they fall. Witness fig-leak in Oklahoma last week. Obama is in Trouble...

Jane

Why aren't they being arrested? If I privately offer someone $10,000 to kidnap and/or murder someone, that's tantamount to committing the crime myself, is it not?

Well Holder will never arrest them but Pam Bondi can. I suspect she is in DC. Can you imagine the retaliation against Florida if her department acts?

And it is so sad that at this point retaliation is predictable.

Jane

BTW, where is Jon Corzine today? Note that none of the Sunday talk shows talked about him.

BR

TK, the more they (MSM and the Obama cabal)
resist it, the stronger the force becomes.

GMAX

What religion is preeminent in Somalia?

Chubby

((If I privately offer someone $10,000 to kidnap and/or murder someone, that's tantamount to committing the crime myself, is it not? ))

the postmodern version of bounty hunting: the prey has not legally been charged with a crime.

but isn't the order to capture and turn him over to the authorities "for his own protection"?

maryrose

Pam Bondi should arrest the person putting out this "contract to kill" on Zimmerman's life. We need to play hardball with this kind of thuggery.Otherwise it is billyclubs for everyone on election day.

MarkO

Corzine should be in jail, awaiting trial.

fdcol63

Corzine is counting his loot, thinking to himself: "SUCKAS!"

Captain Hate

That Corzine wasn't even mentioned on the Sunday gab shows after the Friday data dump is a disgrace to how news is reported in the country, including Fox. That a local law enforcement matter has captured the nation's attention while other matters of national significance are overlooked is an insult to the concept of an educated populace.

Jane

WEll who should be arresting him? Holder or the NJ AG? Or the NY AG? Holder never will. Obama will pardon him regardless of what happens. Of that I am sure.

Danube of Thought

"What religion is preeminent in Somalia?"

Not sure, but Iman (the model) is Muslim.

Danube of Thought

I think it would be highly entertaining, but horribly unwise, for Bondi to make an arrest over this. Better just to treat it as more NBBP bullshit.

OldTimer

There's no doubt the MSM including FNC and conservative talk radio have made editorial decisions not to report The Arpaio findings, and when they do mention the story it's only a brief sentence or two. Personally, I believe Barry's gross anti-Constitutional and foreign policy indiscretions while in office will bring him down without the help of his questionable personal bona fides. What I can't understand, however, is why---if the media really believes there's no "there there" on the BC, etc., they don't do their own investigative reports validating the BC and selective Service registration and show beyond doubt using forensic science why they believe all his documents are AUTHENTIC?

Wouldn't that be the best way to shame and humiliate Sheriff Arpaio and anyone else who claims Barry is an usurper and fraud?

fdcol63

OT, the issue is "settled" as far as they are concerned ... just like AGW.

Danube of Thought

"the search for dark-skinned villains has Tom drawing hypotheticals from what he DIDN'T see"

I suspect every reader but one sees TM's search in this thread as one for inept and biased journalism, not for villains of any color. And that one reader is the Identity Teenager, who seems to be coming apart at the seams these days.

GMAX

Iman translate in Arabic to something like spiritual leader or holy person.

I will concede Blow might be a David Bowie fan, however incongruous that is in my mind.

Danube of Thought

ABC News:

"A friend of George Zimmerman, the man who shot unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Fla., told ABC News today that the voice heard howling on the tape of a 911 call was Zimmerman’s, not the teen’s.

"The man, a black friend of the family who spoke to Zimmerman tonight, told ABC News that Zimmerman was weeping for days after the shooting, which sparked protests across the country, and he insisted that Zimmerman, who is Hispanic, is not a racist.

“'We wanted to come forward because allegations of racism just aren’t true. His friends speak highly of him,' said attorney Greg Sonner, who has been representing Zimmerman for two weeks.

"Zimmerman’s friend said that the howls heard on the 911 call, which helped galvanize the nation against Zimmerman, in fact belonged to Zimmerman, not Martin.

"A witness who saw Martin on top of Zimmerman told ABC News the same: the pleas for help were Zimmerman’s."

Jim,MtnViewCA,USA

I'll go on record as favoring changes in the tax code. Please spare the bunny! (LUN)

Danube of Thought

"I will concede Blow might be a David Bowie fan"

Seems far more likely that he's an admirer of Iman, doesn't it?

GMAX

Neither SEEMS likely to me to give my my unvarnished opinion. And Somalia is an overwhelmingly Muslim nation.

jimmyk

Better just to treat it as more NBBP bullshit.

I wish I had your confidence that that is all it is. Even if there's only a small chance that someone will act on it, I think stuff like this needs to get nipped in the bud.

Surely not!
Clarice, I didn't mean to suggest that a $10,000 offer is equivalent to the murder, but paying someone $10,000 to murder surely is. So I would presume a genuine offer is a serious crime.

GMAX

Ch ch ch changes, turn and face the strain...

As Blow taps his toe along with the beat.

Ignatz

--Seems far more likely that he's an admirer of Iman, doesn't it?--

The other possibility is Blow took the same grade school Spanish lessons I did.
"Iman, Iman donde esta Iman?" is burned indelibly into my neurons from about a thousand repetitions of little Pepito or whatever his name was looking for his cursed dog, Iman.
Blow seems the kinda guy who'd name his daughter after a dog.

MarkO

DoT, that might explain a reluctance to charge him with murder. All those who caution against a rush to judgment seem to be able to rush when the judgment favors their particular narrative.

Danube of Thought

And Somalia is an overwhelmingly Muslim nation.

So what?

Danube of Thought

Iman:

Only a member of a Black Muslin organization would name his daughter for her. Of course.

Clarice

I was joking, jimmyk. I think there certainly is a crime involved in the offer. Offering a bounty for the capture of someone for whom there is no arrest warrant outstanding--of course it violates the law.

Clarice

You may be right about not arresting, DoT. But someone at DoJ should visit Shabazz and get him to pull it. If anything happens to Zimmerman , Shabazz and the NBPP will surely be targetted in civil case, if not criminally--and then how can the press sit on the DoJ pass on the voter intimidation case?

fdcol63

If the ad says "Dead or Alive", I'd think that if Zimmerman was actually killed in the pursuit of this reward that the poster creators could be charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

But what do I know. I'm not a lawyer.

Danube of Thought

But someone at DoJ should visit Shabazz and get him to pull it.

I agree. And I believe the FBI Director can cause that to happen and tell Holder about it later.

Jack is Back!

DoT,

You mean Iman Mohamed Adulmajid, the daughter of the ex-Somali ambassador to Saudi Arabia? It is interesting that Ibtijah Muhammed, the Muslim-American Olympic fencer picked her sport because it allowed her to particpate in athletics "fully covered" since, in her words, my religiion requires me to be covered. In France, with a larger per capita population of muslims they outlaw the hijab but in America we welcome it on our Olympic team.

America - the great melting pot of assimilation.

NK

JiB/All-- there may be hijab or burka in Malia and Sasha's future: http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/26/obama-turkeys-islamist-prime-minister-discuss-nukes-teenagers/

Porchlight

My guess: Iman the model is the inspiration for Blow's daughter's name.

However, that does not preclude the possibility that Blow and his wife were looking for a Muslim name for their daughter and Iman was on the list.

Porchlight

7. I lost my election due to a smear campaign that I'd cause a nuclear war. I am from Arizona and I have Gold like California.

TM, thanks for the response and the above example.

I'll get into the weeds a little further and say that "my" election in the Goldwater example refers to a past election, but "the" election is more typical usage when said election hasn't happened yet. IOW it is short for "the upcoming election."

Ah well, I'll give this one to Barry.

Danube of Thought

Yes, JiB, she's the one.

Heather MacDonald, via Insty:

So determined has the New York Times been to fit the shooting into its favored racial story line that it has been referring to the Zimmerman as a ‘white Hispanic,’ contrary to its usual practice of referring to Hispanics without any additional racial characterization.

I wonder if TM will assist us with a search for pre-Trayvon uses of "White Hispanic?"

jimmyk

I'll get into the weeds a little further and say that "my" election in the Goldwater example refers to a past election, but "the" election is more typical usage when said election hasn't happened yet.

Dare I point out that that other Barry of course did not actually say those words, so it's not much of a counter example? Granted if this were the only example of the current Barry's narcissism we'd have let it slide.

MarkO

Obama clearly does not have Gmax's perspective.

Clarice

Look at the bright side, the WaPo and NYT seem to provide employment opportunities for people as stupid jerks like Eugene Robinson and Blow, sparing us the need to pay for their welfare.

jimmyk

DoT, there actually are some examples in the NYT, though few and far between. Here's recent (pre-Trayvon) example, though only in a local piece:

http://eastvillage.thelocal.nytimes.com/2012/02/15/30637/?scp=13&sq=%22white%20hispanic%22&st=cse

Interestingly, in this article, both "black" and "white" Hispanics were lumped together in opposition to "white" in order to make a case for racial profiling:

According to data obtained from the Police Department by the New York Civil Liberties Union and released yesterday, police officers stopped and questioned people in the Ninth Precinct (which covers the East Village) 3,614 times in 2011. Of those stopped, 1,113 were black, and 1,200 were listed as either “black Hispanic” or “white Hispanic.” Altogether, 63 percent of those stopped were either black or Hispanic – even though, according to 2010 census data, those groups made up just 33.1 percent of the neighborhood’s population.

In any case, all the examples I found were talking about groups, not identifying an individual in a story. And these were vastly outnumbered by the phrase "white, Hispanic" used specifically to mark them out as distinct groups.

Jack is Back!

Media trying to do an Ann Curry on Tebow but Tim won't bite. Asking him about core beliefs trying to trap him into discussion of abortion, homosexuality, gay marriage but he says he is at a Jet's press conferene to talk about football.

As Arte Johnson would say, veeeeery interesting.

Porchlight

Dare I point out that that other Barry of course did not actually say those words, so it's not much of a counter example?

Sheesh jimmyk...that's what I get for not paying proper attention to links. I thought it looked odd. Thanks.

So now I'm back to not giving Barack the benefit of the doubt. Not to mention that what he said is of course far worse than the language he used to say it.

Danube of Thought

More from MacDonald:

Blacks commit 80 percent of all shootings in [New York] city — as reported by the victims of and witnesses to those shootings — though they are but 23 percent of the population; whites commit 1.4 percent of all shootings, though they are 35 percent of the population. Add Hispanic shootings to the black tally, and you account for 98 percent of all of the city’s gun violence. In New York, as in big cities across the country, the face of violence is overwhelmingly black and Hispanic.

Apparently those facts were not fit to print.

Jane

Hmmmm - seems to me if it were illegal for blacks and hispanics to have guns New York at least would be a safer place--for all including blacks and hispanics.

Ignatz
