I'm wondering whether anyone in the media will point out that the president committed a gaffe big enough to sail the Titanic through. He claimed that overturning the ACA would be an unprecedented action by the court against a duly passed law of Congress.
Has he already forgotten about Citizens United? McCain-Feingold got more support by Congress than ACA. As did the Detainee Act of 2005 which the Supreme Court nailed in 2006. I'm sure there's a whole laundry list of cases that disprove the president's completely absurd statement.
Is the president really going on a pre-emptive attack on the Supreme Court in a case where 70-75% of the public disagrees with him about the constitutionality of the law?! Really?
After his already poor relationship with the Supreme Court after berating them directly in a State of the Union speech, it seems the president risks being seen as a King who doesn't respect the other branches of government.
I'm just amazed he would be so brazen - even for him. Shocking.

This is the first I've heard of it, and (barring the hoped-for reports of how his poll numbers dipped again once the public had to take another look at him) hopefully the last I'll hear of it.

unprecedentedly" overturning the "democratic will" as expressed by Pelosi and her sidekick Reid" on Christmas Eve.

We are now seeing some of his strategy working with women and the black community. He wants them outraged, inflamed, and mobilized.
He then went on the offensive with the Latino community last week. Amnesties, non-enforcement of immigration laws on the books, DREAM Act, etc.
I have a black friend who spent a lot of time on Wall Street. He also wears his aluminum foil helmet on some issues. Already, the perception in the Washington Corridor media has already been shaped.
An "us vs them" grievance based campaign is upon us.

You know, there were a number of steps the Administration could hace taken to slow the case down do it wouldn't be decided before the election. I was frankly surprised they didn't take them. Now I see why--like Pelosi they really did not believe there was any constitutional limits to Congressional action.

Yes, Obama, they are an unelected body, it's kind of the point, Mr. Genius Constitutional Scholar. Seriously, how can the media not call him on this? This must rank as one of the worst gaffes he has ever made.
It makes him look like a middle school kid who hasn't learned about the US government yet. I just cannot comprehend how he could make such a statement, and I won't be able to comprehend how he'll probably get away with it as well.

Has the Supreme Court ever gone through the trouble of overturning a law of another kind than "passed by a majority of a democratically elected [legislature]"?
This is like accusing Obama of taking the unprecedented, extraordinary step of being a race-baiting, narcissistic, ignorant, arrogant, lazy, incompetent jackass. As Kyle Reese said about Romney, "That's what he does! That's all he does!"

Sara, Ryan had the same reaction. The caller said she read that in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal. Maybe she heard it in an add, Santorum ads claim Romney=Obama on all things including AGW and green energy (but Rick knows how to bowl). One questioner asked why Romney didn't lay out his plans in his ads (funny, they tie Santorum to DC), Ryan answered that he was frustrated with negative ads in the primary and we need to settle on one candidate ASAP. Half of Romney's robo-calls attack Obama, the rest attack Santorum. Half of Santorum's robo-calls attack Romney, the rest attack abortion.
