Michelle Obama waxes euphoric about her hubby and the Weekly Standard goes all Biblical:
Michelle Obama made a remarkable claim when talking up her husband, President Barack Obama, at a campaign event earlier today in Nashville, Tennessee.
"I am so in," Michelle Obama said toward the end of her remarks. "I am going to be working so hard. We have an amazing story to tell. This president has brought us out of the dark and into the light."
The crowd of nearly 450 folks applauded as the first lady likened her husband to a Jesus-like figure.
In the book of Matthew, we read, "the people dwelling in darkness have seen a great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up." (Matthew 4:16) The phrase is used to describe the words Jesus preached.
In Micah, light, however, is a reference to God's words. "Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD will be a light to me," it says in Micah 7:8.
Either way, in religious terms, light is used to denote the true path, presented either by God or a savior. Or by Barack Obama.
[Or, Shorter Michelle: If God had a son he'd look like Barack.]
Oh, relax. Does anyone think Jeremiah Wright has a Bible handy?
Michelle is a mom who has seen the Wizard of Oz with her kids one too many times (I know the feeling!). A blind man could see or a deaf man hear that she was comparing Barack to Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, who got Dorothy and her crew to the Emerald City with a well-timed snowfall:
You're out of the woods, You're out of the dark, You're out of the night.
Step into the sun, Step into the light.
Keep straight ahead for the most glorious place
On the Face of the Earth or the sky.
Hold onto your breath, Hold onto your heart, Hold onto your hope.
March up to the gate and bid it open.
My goodness. Hold onto your hope and wait for Michelle to click the heels of her ruby slippers.
PLOT TWIST: Whaat? With a Man Bites Dog plot twist was Michelle trying to hint that Barack ate Toto?
--This president has brought us out of the dark and into the light.--

More mockery of Obama, LUN
Former NASA astronaut and “the first mother to fly in space” Dr. Anna Fisher took a veiled shot at President Obama and his space policies Tuesday during an interview ....[The interviewer] pulled a little boy named Ethan out of the crowd who was dressed up as a NASA pilot and asked him if he wanted to be an astronaut when he grew up, which he answered in the affirmative.
“Any advice for Ethan, an aspiring astronaut?” ....
“Study Russian,” Fisher quipped, to laughter.....The Obama Administration ended the 30-year space shuttle program last summer...American astronauts presently have to pay Russia $63 million a seat to reach the International Space Station.

I hate to admit it, but I'm about to get curious about the Trayvon thing, and this is the curiosity. Obviously, this has been a created narrative. Why is it that the narrative was created around an incident with facts that will ultimately betray the narrative?
Were the creators of the narrative subject to such hubris that they ignored the facts. Did they think they had the power to overwhelm the facts? Did they not know the facts?
Much stuff to ponder. Also, who had the white hat, and whose ground was he standing on?

Narc's hawaii link includes a EIA and BLS chart that reminds me why $100+/barrell crude is primarily a dollar debasement event. Look at the chart, stable Dollar stable oil 1987-1999. the oil bubble began just after the Tech Bubble burst and hot money started chasing something other than equities. Greenspan's too loose money 2003-2005 accelerated the oil bubble, the Lehman collapse and credit freeze popped the Oil Bubble and it dropped to $40/Barrell in early 2009, since then its increased 150%. Is world demand up 150% -- course not oil demand is flat to slight down. I know Mel R disagrees, but to me yhe oil bubble is primarily a dollar event.

Thanks for that link rse.
Btw, El JEFe will be staining Ohio today with a visit to Lorain Community College. Even in such a toady laden forum it will be by invitation only, ostensibly to keep Ted Nugent away since the Secret Service will either be hungover, in rehab or being tested for stds. I'm wondering if Sherrod Brown has misplaced his invitation or has some "constituent service" matters to keep him away from the pep rally.
