I now know how certain Europeans felt toward their countrymen that had collaborated with the Germans. The MFM are collaborating with the far left to destroy our country.

This is perfect -

"One of nine people indicted in federal court for looking up President Obama’s student-loan records, was found guilty of a misdemeanor in U.S. District Court in Iowa."

I wanna know what he found. I bet there is a clause in the plea that requires him to not reveal the info.

So we have a president who makes citizens feel like rubes for being honest, telling the truth, making your own way, paying your mortgage and student loans, working hard - what in earth happened to America?

It got beat. We have a Congress that has no qualms about a dual citizen being charge of US foreign relations, and a SCOTUS that won't defend its Presser decision for what is says.

Cooper beat the stones out of Friedman and some chick reporter on Jeopardy.

narciso

Well listening to the question, might have helped;

With the category “21st Century Lingo,” the answer was, “In 2011, BusinessWeek said European government bonds were this ‘poisonous’ kind of debt.”

Friedman responded, “Sub-prime.” I guess he missed the clue in quotation marks “poisonous.”

The correct response of course was “toxic.”

In the same category moments later, the answer was, “It’s the ‘tiny’ term for a person who writes short posts about one’s personal life on Tumblr or Twitter.”

Once again, the word in quotations marks was the clue, and once again Friedman missed it.

“What is a tweeter?” he replied.

Of course, the answer was “micro-blogger.”

Ignatz

--One day on our way to work we hit a deer, not fatally but it did injure her.--

I may have told this story before. If so stop me.
But I went up to Canada to look at a cat, a bulldozer that is, and since you can't take a pistol into Canada was gatless on the way home when I hit a deer in the wilds of Eastern Oregon. Almost missed her but clipped her rear end and broke her pelvis and rear legs and she ended up in the ditch. So I backed up with the intention of finishing her off hoping no one comes along.
The only thing I could find was a good sized rock. Let me tell you, a deer's head is a lot harder than it looks.
I felt like the fiend from a Sherlock Holmes story as I stood there at the side of the road bludgeoning this injured animal to death with a bloody rock. I don't know how many whacks it took and only one car came by, which thank goodness didn't stop, but it was a pretty traumatic experience for the poor dumb creature. It was pretty bad for the deer too.

Captain Hate

I sympathize with you Iggy; deer can come out of nowhere and if you clip 'em you don't want them to suffer, but you need the right tool for the job.

This was in the country.

Similar story, but the deer died just as I got to it with a tire iron. The trooper asked if I wanted the carcass and had someone to call when I said no.

They had that really bad Geena Davis vehicle, by that overpayed hack, Shane Black, they paid about a million dollars for that script,

overseas, Well that little wrinkle begins when she swerves out of the way, of a deer
that appears out of nowhere.

White knuckled tail.

I also strongly believe in deer whistles. After I installed some, I'd see deer stopped by the side of the road instead of sailing by in front of me. Also, slow down dramatically if you see even one. Often several more behind it.

Captain Hate

I may have told this story as well but one day I was driving through a local park after a rain storm and there was a huge snapping turtle in the middle of the road. I stopped my, at the time, mini-van and turned on the flashers; even though the vile creature would probably hammer the local ducklings, goslings and smaller more benign turtles, I have an aversion to having them hit by cars. But there was no effing way I was gonna lose a digit or more picking the damn thing up by its tail and having it whirl and fire on me, so I flagged down oncoming cars to see if they had any tools for the job. I was thinking of a large shovel to scoop the damn thing up and throw him back into the water but somebody had a set of golf clubs in his trunk. We wedged a (what else) wedge and another short iron under the thing and carried it to the water and reacquainted it to its natural environment. I hope not too many ducks and geese had an early demise thanks to my and another samaritan's act of kindness and ability to improvise a solution.

Ignatz

Tire iron! Why didn't i think of that?

--Also, slow down dramatically if you see even one. Often several more behind it.--

First lesson I taught our kids.

I believe grey squirrels and deer constitute a major challenge to evolutionary theory.
How come the 'gee I'm safe, I think I'll double back and get squashed' gene hasn't been eliminated by the grills and Goodyears of millions of cars by now?

Btw, did anybody watch the Spurs/Clips game today? Mark Folkestad

CH, you have good reason to think about the ducklings lost. And you missed some great eating, although it's a lot of work getting the beast dressed out and ready for the kitchen.

narciso

What does turtle taste like, it can't be as tough as gator meat?

Captain Hate

They are ugly suckers, Ig. I had a similar experience in my hometown when I was working summers for the B&O during summers when I was going to kollidge. I was driving home after midnight after working the swing shift and noticed one less than a mile from where I lived but in the middle of a housing development. I drove home to get a shovel and my dad was up so I told him to get in the car and check it out. We got there no more than 5 minutes later and it was gone. I parked the car and was looking in the adjoining lawns when somebody came out and said "Are you looking for the snapping turtle?" to which I obviously responded yes. He told me it was his pet in a pond in his back yard and he came out and got it. I was pretty incredulous that somebody would willfully own one of those throwbacks for anything other than ultimately eating (which may have been the objective) and just shook my head and drove home.

Captain Hate

It's surprisingly tender and tasty narc.

narciso

You're a softy, at heart, Captain, don't let it get around, Soylent's pic, was one of the most SFW around,

Elliott

Happy birthday, glasater and Thomas Collins!

Sara

My turtles eat hotdogs right out of my hand and come when I call them. I have 5 in the pond now.

Have Blue

Captain Hate - What time of year did that occur? (With the snapping turtle) In the spring the females will come out looking for a soft spot to bury eggs, especially after a good rain. On of my security jobs we had a couple of small retention ponds and had several smallish (12 inches or so) females laying eggs next to road ways or in landscape beds.

On my current job the corporate campus is in the middle of a golf course. About a month ago my vehicle patrol officer came across a huge snapper in the middle of the road. (The city police called to let us know it had been reported on 911 to them.) Being from northern India he had little idea about how to handle the situation.

Mark Folkestad

Narciso, there are several distinctly different flavors in snapping turtle meat, depending on what part of the body it is from. All of them are good. You can cook it any imaginable way, but soup is never wrong. The Hmong who settled in Minnesota love snappers. They get a big one and it's food for a week for a family. Even the smaller ones can easily amputate a finger or toe, so you have to be very careful. Have a buddy use a stick to draw the snapper's attention, then be ready with an axe to chop the head off when it is stretched out. Folks use a wire brush and cleaning solution on the skin, after the shell has been removed. There's a nasty algae and bacteria growth on the hide that you don't want on your kitchen counter, and you certainly don't want it in contact with any cuts or open sores.

BR

Pagar, the data in your 11:04 link should make all the sirens in the US go off at once. Un-f-believable, and that he actually took out the explicit language exempting US citizens and residents from indefinite military detention without trial in the Act, then lied about it, saying US citizens are protected!

BR

Jane, I see others are also questioning if Miriam Goderich was even the assistant involved in the first 1991 publishing.

Short bio says she grew up in Cuba, Spain, and Miami and graduate from Columbia University - wonder when, i.e., how old was she in 1991. As an Obama contributor, is she just being a willing scapegoat?

Miriam Goderich, Literary Agent, Twitter page.

BR

At least we can confirm where she was born. This bio actually states: "born in Cuba."

BR

Hm, I just noticed this line at Breitbart: "According to the booklet itself, the text was edited by Miriam Goderich..."

So, that answers that. She was there in 1991.

Jane

So either she is lying or it takes 3 years to publish a book.

Something is very fishy, and once again the rules don't apply to Obama.

Jane

Clarice takes it all on over at AT. It's great!

Got me thinking:

Literary Agent Miriam Goderich: "Hi Barrack".

Obama: "Hi Miriam."

Miriam: "We need to spice up your Bio."

Obama: "Can ya'? "

Miriam: "Works for me."

Captain Hate

Have Blue, the "golf club" incident was probably related to egg laying in the spring but the one that was the "pet" was in the middle of the summer.

daddy,

That is a great find - the ancient football. My great-grand uncle published the first Football Association rules and his footballs were the first officially adopted by the FA. The same with American football, where we made the first offically adopted College football from our extensive Rubgy manufacturing capability back in the 1880's.

My earliest leather ball is a 1920 era Rubgy ball.

LUN is a link to a Canadian story on sharing secrets pushed by school officials. It's part of the "let us access your innermost thoughts and feelings" approach to education. We in the West are allowing it without sufficient alarm under the mistaken impression that elections are a sufficient protection against the predations of credentialed totalitarians using education as a weapon.

By the way I am still trying to get over red's graduation yesterday. I think I have sai I hoped to get the story out before it hit my own children. But a sudden district super retirement just the second she had the 3 years in at her new highly elevated salary and a principal firing over sloppy financial practices that apparently had been winked at for years and I have a Gypsy Super in my now Charter school district. I also have a Principal who has announced that he is "a constructivist" and a "change agent" and that teachers who still want to lecture and make the content the focus of the classroom. He has literally terrorized fine people that they adhere to "his vision" and "his mission" or leave.

Yesterday the super picks our graduation to attend to send the message to teachers that resistance is futile. He picked the intellectual eunuch and he backs him 100%. I already knew that from a Principals Coffee when Comrade Principal said that Comandante Super would not listen to anyone who tried to get around what was to be changed at the school by going to the Board or Super. He was In Charge.

Bullies quite sure there is nothing to stop the long-held political vision of using education as a weapon. They have our money. The accreditors are behind what they are pushing. Every principal on the stage is committed to the same education as a transformative social, political, and economic weapon. All you have to do is use the school to change the values, beliefs, feelings, and thus behaviors of the students.

And that smug look mediocre people get when they believe there is no longer anything that can stop them. Every impediment has been removed. They are as of last week a charter school district with a legal document that operates differently than the parents or the students or the taxpayers or the area businesses understand. It is full of counterintuitive defined terms. Its actual intent is just a clear as a church bell tolling noon if you have the glossary of terms.

Nothing To Be Done? I will always write on this subject with those smug, bullying mediocre people in mind. They are the antithesis of what made this country great. In fact they have the drives of other parasites who have selfishly sought to use political power to prevent anyone from obtaining greatness since they can barely spell it themselves.

Time to go read Clarice.

Don't expect lefties to cede any ground on this subject, but the ones i've talked to privately admit that he was more likely than not born in Kenya.I'm not convinced.

But on the offchance that it's true,I actually see our President as a modern day 'Don draper'(minus the burgeoning Constitutional and political crisis leading to an economic calamity). And as Sterling of 'Sterling and Cooper'(or was it Cooper?)told slimy Pete Campell,"a man is whatever room he finds himself in".

Nobody cares WHERE the President was born.People care about being able to feed their family.

AliceH

A lesser point, granted, but why does Obama's bio make a claim to being "raised" in Chicago?

He went from Hawaii to LA in 1979 (age 18), then to NYC in 1981 (age 20), and didn't actually arrive as a Community Organizer in Chicago until 1983 (age 22).

How i'm preceived has nothing to do with the simple fact that the United states and Europe are in the midst of an economic and institutional recalibration. We tried your way.It failed and that failure spread to other parts of the world.

Now,we're taking a more socialist approach with an emphasis on a much stronger central-government with the power to enact and enforce tighter financhial regulations.

Higher taxes on the wealthiest individuals and corporations will ensure greater access to more social services and Government programmes including Universal healthcare for every man woman and child.

This isn't something that's up for debate. This is how we're ALREADY reshaping this country and if you look at the trajectory of the current economic statistics...it's working.

Ignatz

Well at least weeDavey is more honest than the POTUS by admitting socialism is the goal.

Unfortunately he doesn't perceive that the perception of him is related to the fact that only imbeciles believe socialism is anything other than a disaster.

It's also hilarious how socialists think they can limit an all powerful government to only harassing and exercising its power over those people they disfavor and only in areas they wish it to remain.

And how does that compare to the "vetting" of Obama?

In other words, who cares what Rove thinks if he is not informative. Simply because it is his opinion doesn't make it worthwhile.
