Is HBO gonna make a movie about the story?

lyle

The Mittster gettin' some street cred! Wait until you see his tats...

Captain Hate

Willard "Hard Times" Romney, certified badass.

Ranger

Who knew that boating while being a Mormon was a crime?

Gus

Yeah well Obama smoked "weed". And wrote this. Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!! It still cracks me up

UNDERGROUND

Under water grottos, caverns
Filled with apes
That eat figs.
Stepping on the figs
That the apes
Eat, they crunch.
The apes howl, bare
Their fangs, dance,
Tumble in the
Rushing water,
Musty, wet pelts
Glistening in the blue.

Gus

I hear Romney held a BAKE SALE for bail money.

lyle

I'm just glad Willard had the good sense imbued in him through his fine upbringing to have refrained from striking that impertinent constable with his diamond and platinum walking stick. Oh, the contretemps he has properly avoided...

Bruce

My thoughts earlier when I first saw this, was that it isn't going to hurt him. Shouldn't have been arrested, but that was because he had engaged in contempt-of-cop (or ranger). Not sure though if his false imprisonment claim would have flown, given how much deference cops, etc. are given in this area.

hit and run

Wait until it comes out that Seamus was in a flotable crate being pulled behind the boat.

matt

Rmoney, he be the king a tha lockdown.

Jimmyk, I stole your line for my blog. Please forgive me.LUN.

Jane

So does this mean Natick District Courts clerks office has been inundated today? It's a one judge court with maybe 5 people in the clerk's office. I can only imagine.

Danube of Thought

Cop be lucky Mitt doan bust his chops.

centralcal

lol, Hit!

hit and run

So Romney had a boat small enough that he could trailer it. Surprising.

AliceH

License? We don't need no stinkin' license!

Occupy Lake Cochituate!

Extraneus

Seamus at the lake.

DebinNC

Romney was at a boat ramp in a state park. He was "launching" the boat himself (As in backing the boat trailer down the ramp into the water?) while his 5 kids looked on. What's more average American than that? What's less something that Obama would or could do?

narciso

So what's the thinking on this, I think Al Asiri, is less impressive then his write up;

http://hotair.com/archives/2012/05/07/revealed-cia-foils-airplane-bomb-plot-by-al-qaeda-in-yemen-timed-to-coincide-with-obl-anniversary/

Rick Ballard

H&R,

Not too surprising. Tight ramps were a bit problematic.

Rocco

Lake Cochituate is a state park run by the Department of Conservation and Recreation. I doubt it was a Wayland Police Officer who arrested Romney. More likely it was a Ranger employed by the DCR. I love Wayland, it's a beautiful town.

Captain Hate

So Romney had a boat small enough that he could trailer it. Surprising.

I heard at Kos it was so big that he harbored it in Rhode Island because it was larger than the entire Mass coastline and spilled over. True story.

Gus

Obama ate Seamus.

hit and run

Mitt Romney just wanted to take his family on the boat for a summer vacation and got arrested for his trouble.

Barack Obama just wants to be reelected after having spent 3+ years spending like drunken sailor.

AliceH

There does seem to be a different definition of "sealed" for certain people's records than for other's.

Thomas Collins

If the election comes down to persuadable boater voters in a battleground state, Mitt wins!

Jack is Back!

Remember when you had to use your imagination?

Okay, now imagine the Barack Obama family taking a similar vacation to Chain O'Lakes in Illinois. ROTFLMAO

DGS

Some of the Park Rangers at Lake Cochituate are pretty obnoxious. I say that as an occasional visitor and someone who's ancestor founded Wayland and he use to own a piece of land bordering the lake. Yes there is a story behind this comment. It occurred as a teenager.

Rob Crawford

Okay, now imagine the Barack Obama family taking a similar vacation to Chain O'Lakes in Illinois. ROTFLMAO

Too "middle class" -- it would have been in violation of their church's values.

Sara

Neither George Zimmerman, his attorney or the special prosecutor will be in court Tuesday for a scheduled arraignment

Soulman Young

"Mitt was handcuffed and taken downtown in his bathing suit..."

Sara

I tried to find a picture of the Romney boat, but could only find a side shot of Mitt driving a boat. However, the whole family are avid water skiers, so I suspect the boat was a ski boat. And since 1981 was early in his career, it was probably not a really big bucks boat.

My family was comfortable but by no means wealthy. We had a cottage on the lakefront and a very hot Chris Craft inboard ski boat. I say that because as a teenaged girl that boat was a stud magnate and my girlfriend and I took advantage of that big time.

narciso

How the heck even a story, except to show the foolishness of local law enforcement,

Herdgadfly.blogspot.com

And then there is this, as quoted from "Dreams From My Father."

"I had learned not to care," he wrote. "I blew a few smoke rings, remembering those years. Pot had helped, and booze; maybe a little blow when you could afford it. Not smack, though. ..."

"Blow" is a street name for cocaine. "Smack" is slang for heroin.

"Junkie. Pothead. That's where I'd been headed: the final, fatal role of the young would-be black man," Obama wrote. "Except the highs hadn't been about that, me trying to prove what a down brother I was. Not by then, anyway. I got high for just the opposite effect, something that could push questions of who I was out of my mind, something that could flatten out the landscape of my heart, blur the edges of my memory. I had discovered that it didn't make any difference whether you smoked reefer in the white classmate's sparkling new van, or in the dorm room of some brother you'd met down at the gym, or on the beach with a couple of Hawaiian kids who had dropped out of school and now spent most of their time looking for an excuse to brawl. ... You might just be bored, or alone. Everybody was welcome into the club of disaffection."

Sara

An object lesson. Mitt would rather pay a measly $50 fine than take the boat back home and disappoint his kids. Employers would rather pay a measly fine than provide the ultra-expensive Obamacare for their employees.

Edwards sought another $3M from benefactor after affair, witness claims

John Edwards asked philanthropist Rachel "Bunny" Mellon for an additional $3 million several years after the botched cover-up of his extramarital affair, according to testimony in his criminal trial today.

However, jurors won't hear this testimony -- after a successful objection by the defense, which argued the pricey 2011 request had no bearing on funds obtained from Mellon during the 2008 election cycle.

But we will.

Extraneus

Great testament to capitalism posted by Ed Driscoll at Instapundit today.

How Sears, Roebuck & Co. midwifed the birth of the blues

The first Sears, Roebuck catalog was published in 1888. It would go on to transform America. Farmers were no longer subject to the variable quality and arbitrary pricing of local general stores. The catalog brought things like washing machines and the latest fashions to the most far-flung outposts. Guitars first appeared in the catalog in 1894 for $4.50 (around $112 in today’s money). By 1908 Sears was offering a guitar, outfitted for steel strings, for $1.89 ($45 today), making it the cheapest harmony-generating instrument available.

Man, Punahou be soundin' like the mean streets of Pearl. He be flyyyin to escape the harsh realities of Harvard Yard and Morningside Heights and Pasadena....

Never have I heard such rampant bullshit in my entire life. This guy spent the ages of approximately 12-26 living in some of the most expensive real estate in the world.

Clinton's "I didn't inhale" is more honest.

peter

That Ape poem isn't even grammatically correct.

Jane

DGS,

TC and I were talking about you yesterday. Where ya been?

I wonder if Lizzy Warren's arrest for fraud will be her first.

MarkO

I wonder if Mitt ever was pulled over for speeding. That will come out, too.

JFC

narciso

So, did the PSO nab this would be bomber, before he flew out of Sanaa, is the Company

MarkO

Wait. The "War on Terror" was over.

DrJ

PSO? In my world that is a "piano-shaped object." That is reserved for very low-quality instruments.

narciso

Someone didn't get the memo, Mark.

Jim Rhoads a/k/a vjnjagvet

Happy birthday jimmyk and Sara. What with bake sale bans, Jay Carney's discomfort and pretty good Raz poll news, what's not to be happy about?

boatbuilder

TM--that last paragraph is a thing of beauty. Heh.

Sara

Wait 'til they find out Mitt worked secret jobs so he could make secret trips home from his freshman year at Stanford to see Ann.

Jack is Back!

20 years? What no math dept. at Pisser U.?

He has now locked up the hunting, fishing and recreational boating vote. Anyone who has ever launched a boat can really sympathize with this incident.

narciso

The answer is clearly no, hence the Brian Jones memo;

Yep, the writer of that sub-doggerel is absolutely the author of that paper on Eliot that Maran-ass has set in his gob and is getting reeled in.

Minimalist Poster

I heard Romney's "boat" was built in New Zealand and registered in Rhode Island

dublindave

Well it's an issue that needs to be raised, unless of course the character of a Presidential candidate is off limits.

There are alot of good decent hard working independants out there who need to hear of Romney's arrest.

A good forum would be the Presidential debates where Romney can explain,in detail, what it was like being placed in handcuffs in front of his wife and his children and hauled off to jail like a common criminal.

The ultimate humiliation for a man.

I hope once he was put into prison they didn't place him in general population with all the other rapists and murderers.

Especially if he was still in his bathing suit.

matt

he was stoned when he wrote it, most likely. Here is another one found when taking a tape of Obama's STate of the Union Address and playing it backwards.

"apes eating banana chips
apes playing cards
eating, howling, angry apes
sad apes
apes without health care
undocumented apes
Tollybon apes from Pokeeston
apes attacking Osama (did I tell I got Osama?)
apes falling asleep from smoking too much reefer"

Rick Ballard

I thought that was Kerry's - the Magic Hat isn't it?

Janet

I heard Romney's "boat" was built in New Zealand and registered in Rhode Island

Who cares. He'd have to swindle millions from Bunny Mellon, stuff national security papers down his pants, hate America, pleasure interns with cigars, have a male prostitute business in his home, & leave his secretary to drown to even BEGIN to compete with Democrats.

No rangers involved.

I built a boat once, it sank on launching.

Jack is Back!

How come our debates can't be like Mexico's?<\a>

Cecil Turner

Mitt Romney, scofflaw . . . who knew?

And I certainly hope Obama was on drugs when he wrote that poem. Strong ones.

the Magic Hat isn't it?

LOL, or whatever Lovey wanted to call it.

Whoa JiB; very appropriate for a "Busted" thread.

Captain Hate

Tweety's upcoming ongoing meltdown is as good as El JEFe's. Since Bathtub Boy has left the building it should be safe to rename "Blueballs" to "Countdown to Rehab".

Rob Crawford

WTF is it with lefties and "Gordon Gekko"? HE'S A FICTIONAL CHARACTER. HE NEVER EXISTED. THE WORDS YOU CLAIM TO FIND SO PROFOUND CAME FROM A SCRIPT WRITER.

It's like they're incapable of distinguishing between fantasy and reality.

GMax

It's like they're incapable of distinguishing between fantasy and reality.

I think you have the decoder ring in hand, now.

NO_LIMIT_NIGGA

It's like they're incapable of distinguishing between fantasy and reality.

Yeah.

"I shouldn't be saying this because it was told to me in confidence, but here goes;a friend of who works at the Sanford county clerks office is hearing from his friends on the force that Judge Zimmerman called in some favours the night of George's "incident".That would explain the appearence of some heavy hitters at a routine murder scene on a Sunday night, the police lying about Zimmerman's injuries (his clothes showed no signs of blood or maybe they laundered them in the back of the police car).

Bottom line:the son of a prominent white Judge gets a pass for killing a black kid."

I wonder if the squad cars up in Massachusetts come equipped with washing machines like they do down in Florida.

Rob Crawford

I wonder if the squad cars up in Massachusetts come equipped with washing machines like they do down in Florida.

Only the ones sent to handle Kennedy cases.

Clarice

How does SYG fit into this scenario?

narciso

My suspicions about the nature of the data dump last weekend was confirmed;

Danube of Thought

Philip Klein:

"I've long been under the assumption that Wisconsin Democrats would unite around Voldemort if he were running against Gov. Scott Walker. But the Democratic primary for the right to challenge Walker in next month's recall election got much more contentious than I would have expected. Now, with Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett looking like the probable victor in tomorrow's primary against union-backed Kathleen Falk and other minor candidates, Democrats have cancelled a unity rally for Wednesday that had been intended to bring together all of the candidates for an anti-Walker fiesta."

Hmmm...

Ranger

You know, it is illuminating that our resident "anarchist" scoffs at an actual act or resistance to the arbitrary execution of state power. But what do we exspect from a man who preaches Marixism from a perch woth over $1,10K per year, while only working half time, 8 months a year.

Sara

I wonder if the squad cars up in Massachusetts come equipped with washing machines like they do down in Florida.

ROMNEY BUSTED!

narciso

One finds 'narative' is all they have, from the situation, akin to Lee, that I've mentioned before'

Rick Ballard

You can't really expect the Mensheviks to hold a unity celebration with the Bolsheviks. That's just not the way it works.

dublindave

"I wonder if the squad cars up in Massachusetts come equipped with washing machines like they do down in Florida."

Oh relax i'm just having a laugh.

It's a fun story about a rich priveldged guy who tried to buy the law and realized it wasn't for sale.He got humiliated in front of his sons......."Daddy thought he was powerfull....daddy was wrong"!

That's funny.

That must have been so bad for him because you never forget the first time your father gets arrested.

narciso

Or the social revolutionaries, Rick.

Jack is Back!

Now this is truly shocking.

Danube of Thought

"The ultimate humiliation for a man."

Yeah. It dwarfs having his daughters read about his doing a little blow when he could afford it.

Like herding cats, Rick; really grungy feral disgusting cats.

'Shirley,. you can't be serious, JiB,

dublindave

"You know, it is illuminating that our resident "anarchist" scoffs at an actual act or resistance to the arbitrary execution of state power."

"Arbitrary"?He completely ignored a park officer's request that he not put an unlicensed boat in the water for safety reasons.

"But what do we exspect from a man who preaches Marixism from a perch woth(sic) over $1,10K per year, while only working half time, 8 months a year."

Lol.

Rob Crawford

You know, it is illuminating that our resident "anarchist" scoffs at an actual act or resistance to the arbitrary execution of state power.

The modern "anarchists" are totalitarians. Which isn't a shock, because so were the "anarchists" of the 19th century. They natter about "smashing the state", but the regime they would replace it with is really a totalitarian order intrusive enough to prevent "too much" cooperation and coordination among the proles.

Look at who the "anarchists" target. Look at who they really get pissed at. The Democrat convention this year will have a few disturbances, for appearances sake. The Republican convention will likely have a bomb plot (like the last one) and another round of assaults.

Jane

Dudu,

Still doing creative editing, eh? Your mother must be so proud. Have you ever told the truth in your life?

Sara

Yeah. It dwarfs having his daughters read about his doing a little blow when he could afford it.

Or standing up to da man by defacing property by butting cigarettes out on the carpet.

narciso

It was just more foolishness, for the license for the pet fish.

scott

What's more average American than that? What's less something that Obama would or could do?

Wasn't it Baraka "lit'l Yeats" Obama that didn't know what a hitch ball cover was during the '08 campaign? In some store in teh midwest, he was like "So, you put these over the thing-a m-bob when your not haulin' the trailer...y'all?" I think he was just trying to buy a fishing license.

Rick Ballard

CH,

It's fun to watch the discipline imposed by Dean as a condition of sale of the Democrat Party to the commies break down now that the Pinhead Troika has "successfully" driven out all those who rightfully treated the President like his favorite lunch. It's really fun watching them try and grab every dollar available, thereby choking off any chance of holding the Senate or cutting the GOP margin in the House.

The Pinhead Troika presents The Great Headless Chicken Parade of 2012.

dublindave

Still doing creative editing, eh? Your mother must be so proud.

My mother died of cancer last year,Jane

She was 84 years old.

I loved her and i'll miss her.

And no i'm just f****ng with you, she's alive and well.

Captain Hate

Baraka "lit'l Yeats" Obama

LOL; except poor William Butler's corpse is doing about 10k rpm at that moniker.

dublindave

"And no"...sorry 'Ah no..."

Ignatz

I want to make sure I have the lefty position straight.
Romney was duty bound to obey this park ranger dude or cop whoever it was who was following him around asking him about his boat, but if a private citizen had noted it would be an infraction to launch a boat with an obscured license number, Mitt would have been justified in busting his nose and then beating his head on the boat ramp, right?

NO_LIMIT_NIGGA

I think we should wait for a ruling from Dumbassdave's imaginary friend in the Sanford county clerk's office on that, Ignatz.

narciso

So were they lying then, or now, I do recall with the Zazi plot, Mi-6 had tipped us, something left out of the initial reports.

Is there really a sentient being who believes that news of this boating incident will hurt Romney? If so, let us hope that such a being is in a position of influence in the Obama campaign.

Define sentient, Danube, seeing as Shahzad tried a similar tack, two years agom it's not terribly surprising,

I'm sure Leaverett and company will say it's a misunderstanding;
