It's Hope and Change we can believe in as Obama proposes legislation that sweeps to unanimous votes in the House and Senate:
President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.
Coupled with the House's rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama's budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.
It's great to see Obama uniting Washington and developing some momentum. Especially as that momentum seems to be carrying him to the exit.

FACT CHECK: After NC voted for the amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman,Democratic Governor Beverly Perdue said it made the state look like Mississippi.
Does North Carolina, in fact, look like Mississippi?
Rasmussen Reports released a poll today showing Mitt opening up a 51-43 lead among likely voters.
Well,that's not exactly like Mississippi.
McCain won Mississippi with 56 percent of the vote in 2008.
Then again, in the 2008 presidential, Obama picked up 43 percent of the vote in Mississippi - which does match the Rasmussen poll released today.
Obama's current polling in North Carolina looks exactly like his election results in Mississippi in the 2008 presidential election.
We rate Perdue's statement, inadvertently mostly true.

I sense a brightening mood around here lately, but it really isn't over until it is over. The Dems will lie and cheat and try to steal this and every other election unless the numbers are so obviously and overwhelmingly against them that the stupid muddle that elected this nightmare in the first place can't be fooled. I am seeing hopeful signs, but I won't get a good night's sleep until January 21, 2013. And I fully concur with the points made by porchlight and Clarice at the beginning of this thread. Lots of damage to be rendered by the lame duck socialist regime, and by our enemies without.

99-0? Twice; I think this is final proof that for the Dems, it's every pol for themselves right now. The Senate Dems treat Once's budgets with nore contempt than the Repub budgets, unamimously voting against the DEBT and Tax increases in Once's budget, because voting for those would kill the Dems in elections. So the Repub adverts write themselves, "NOT a SINGLE Dem -- in the Senate OR the House-- votes for Once's tax increases and 6TRILLION DOLLARS more debt." That's a killer advert for Indies. Once is now alone, with his fat assed wife, Jar Jar and his 40%+ base, he is a loser. As we get close to November he will damn us as racists and oppressors of widows and orphans. centralcal,
I worry about both scenarios: an Obama win OR an Obama defeat in November.
If Obama loses, then the radical left and the pro-Trayvon zombies will riot.
If Obama wins - especially if it's close and massive voter fraud is suspected - then the rest of us need to revolt ... if we sincerely believe all that we've been saying about how much a threat Obama is to the Constitution and the Republic, and if we're sincerely worried that he'll be unlimited by further re-election concerns to advance his Marxist/Socialist agenda.

The Democrat and Independent Senators have shown complete unity in disobeying federal laws by not voting for any of the budget bills. Ask your state election officials why they allow these people, who show a complete disregard for federal laws, to appear on the ballot?
Posted by: pagar | May 17, 2012 at 08:55 AM
Everything done by executive order can be undone, by executive order. Nothing is going to pass legislatively in either the House or Senate that is scary, and remember, most items of a budget and spending nature require but 51 votes in the Senate.
So your task, boys and girls, is to make sure that there is enough margin in the Senate to work around the likes of Lisa Murky et al. For extra credit, push the number up to 60 and watch the fun start then.

a bit from a comment -
David Eldon · Millersville University
"From old Joe Kennedy, who was a spectacular crook and master swindler on Wall St., down thru the current batch of wastrels and louts, this family is a study in moral bankruptcy and depravity. They were foisted off on the public as some kind of "American royalty" when in reality, most of them were quite low in their character....simply having money which seemed to excuse their bad behavior. Yet, this clan thought they could dictate (politically) our lives and chart our future as a nation."

Dreadful news for 'Bam of course-- I'm sure he's cursing whitey businessmen-- because until the elections playout, businessmen won't make investments in new jobs b/c they can't know what the cost of employees will be until Obamacare and taxes are resolved. Once the Once is bounced-- I am hopeful that the Repubs are serious about quickly adopting a Ryan-Type budget that prevents national bankruptcy, and as part of budget reconciliation Obamacare is fully repealed. Romney of course will immediately repeal all of 'bam's Executive Orders. IF all that happens, I think American business will respond and alot of pent up business demand is unleashed while interest rates are very low. Plus, no more QE and no national bankruptcy strengthens the Dollar, so inflation --especially commodity inflation-- drops and consumers' budgets improve. Americans will be rewarded for bouncing 'Bam.

I'm pretty sure that the only way Corey is going to feel an obligation is through an order from Judge Lester, after she argues that the charge is fully justified and he says "no, it's not."
Is Dersh saying the charge should be reduced, like to manslaughter, or withdrawn altogether because Zimmerman's use of force was justified, as SPD concluded there was an absence of probable cause (let alone enough evidence to support a trial) that Zimmerman committed a crime.

I wondered if Obama was just monkeying around with Dem preezy bios, but found he's an equal opportunist. All the bios (sans Obama additions) are from a 2009 book by Beschloss and Sidey, so I'm wondering if there were prez bios on the site before Obama took over and whether they were expressly created for the narcissistic reelection purpose we're now seeing? The Obama additions come before the authors' attribution, leaving the impression Beschloss and Sidey added the Obama stuff and not The Once.

No self-respecting historian would go to the Whitehouse site for research on past Presidents. The fact that the biographies have been tampered with is inconsequential.
Moreover, a simple factcheck would solve any doubts a layman visitor to the site may have.
Much like Justia, this is much ado about nothing.
PS, if you think it goes to show that someone in the administration thought this to be important for the Obama narrative, you are wrong.

Ok, this is why I prefer listening to Tammy Bruce to anybody else: Laura Ingraham had Dershowitz on at a time when he only had a limited amount of time (less than 10 minutes) to give his take on what's going on in the case and she ultimately had to cut him off. She could've kept taping him over the break and just replayed what he said but instead I'm listening to dipshit Jake Tapper which is frankly boring in comparison. She always gives ample time to the extremely annoying and counterproductive Pat Buchanan so right now Laura's handling of her show is pretty low on my scale of suckiness.

"It's Hope and Change we can believe in as Obama proposes legislation that sweeps to unanimous votes in the House and Senate:"
"President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it."
The Budget was introduced by Republican Senator Jeff Sessions and it was voted down because it wasn't President Obama's budget.
There were some simalarities between what Sessions introduced and what the President proposed, but ultimately what Sessions introduced was a 'Parody" of the Presidents budget-hence not a single Democratc vote.Same thing happened in march-Republican Sen introduces fake Obama budget followed by no votes.
This is all careful maeuvering to contrast the failed vote on the Ryan budget with the failed vote on the Presidents "faux" budget.
See,these are the games you play when your party literally doesn't have a single idea left."Tax breaks for the rich" will only take you so far.
If you Republicans get back into power what are you going to do?I'm not being facetious, what are you going to do?You literally have no ideas.LOL.

"All of the attempts by Biden and Obama to demonize Romney and create a false narrative are falling flat."
Maryrose,
A little worse than falling flat. The efforts are confirming the public impression of Obama as a sneering, petulant incompetent. The public is very willing to lend a sympathetic ear to Governor Romney and the 'first impression' he is making with the low information voter (why do I want to type "dolt") has been positive. That's why the Pinhead Troika threw a hissy fit about the CBS/NYT poll which confirmed the bleeding obvious. One of the reasons why the electorate rejected My Friends and chose BOzo Brand is that the blow hard was a known quantity through his ceaseless mike grabbing over the course of a truly mediocre political career.
Obama is now a well known, albeit microscopically small, quantity and the electorate recognizes the low quality of what little there is to him. The advertising on the over sized box they bought in '08 sure hasn't matched the contents.
Posted by: Rick Ballard | May 17, 2012 at 10:11 AM
I am not so concerned about the visible actions and reactions (riots, EOs, pardons, etc) that could occur in the 3 months following a failed reelection bid as I am about other more insidious but hidden damage. I'm thinking leaks of national security info to unfriendlies, destruction of evidence/archive materials, and various types of cybercrime that could be done to government systems and networks.
There is a reason certain employees who are fired (even if just for reduction in force reasons) are also given at most a couple hours to gather their personal belongings and then are escorted from the building.

JimR-NK is half-right.This is a game of smoke and mirrors.
NPR said that this wasn't an Obama budget is because of the way it was structured.Sessions used the exact same numbers that Obama did,but the specifics about how those numbers would be administered were not there.
A typical budget is about 2000-2500 pages long.....Sessions Budget was 56 pages long.It was as Jay Karney commented "A shell".
Passing it would have allowed the implementation of policies that the Obama admistration and Congressional Dems believe would have hurt the middle class.Hence the no vote.

Except that the house already rejected it 414-0 so it could not possibly have become law, so no policies could have been implemented even if that great champion of the middle class Barry had been inclined to sign it.
I suspect that is the real reason no Dem will vote for it; because then Barry would have to veto his own budget.

A few days ago we had a drive by dolt bleating about BOzo tremendously outraising Governor Romney in March. April is different. (Note that Romney didn't really start until mid-April.)

"Budget Dishonesty"-- the only dishonesty is in the Senate Dem caucus and the WH. THREE CONSECUTIVE FYs the Senate dems refuse to vote on a Budget resolutions setting forth how much the Fed Gov't will tax, spend and borrow for the next 10 years. The Senate Dems violate Federal budget law every time they refuse to vote. The past 2 years the House has voted on the Ryan Budget Plan. Some Dems have voted for it, most Dems against. Almost all Repubs vote for it, some conservative Repubs vote against it because Ryan doesn't CUT spending enough. But the House votes. Hell the House puts 'Bams total budget up for a vote-- this year ZERO House Dems voted for 'Bam's own budget in the House. The budget scamers in DC are the Senate Dems. Harry Reid's and 'Bam's spending insanity are poison to many Senate Dems, so they refuse to vote. They are the budget liars and they don't like Sessions forcing them to vote.

After your "vagina probing" bills at the state level it's pretty clear that you're also morally bankrupt.
Ahhh Dudu is not only a homophobe he's a misogynist. That seems to be quite common among liberals.

Richard Fernandez (Belmont Club) columnist at PJ media is just brilliant.Such a gift for metaphors. Read any of his last five or six columns. I especially liked the May 15th column about Obama's chances of being reelected with an attached boxing film -- of the Max Baer- Primo Carnera championship fight.

Deja vu.

"has any Dem defended Obama's Forrest Gumping himself into previous prezzy bios/history, because all I've seen is ridicule."
Deb,
Megyn Kelly has on some pore sap tasked with that suicide mission. He's saying nothing to see here folks---move along, this is "perfectly appropriate, perfectly acceptable", but even he is laughing with the Conservative guy who keeps ginning up new "Obama in History" moments to come.

If, per the pic posted by Hit at 08:12, the president is the actual guy on the computer doing the actual editing to these bio's, then I can easily see him as the guy compiling his Romney donors enemy list, and personally deciding who to send that info to.

That pic is photoshopped. What the Once was actually typing was, "I will hazard these statements—Eliot contains the same ecstatic vision which runs from Münzer to Yeats. However, he retains a grounding in the social reality/order of his time. Facing what he perceives as a choice between ecstatic chaos and lifeless mechanistic order, he accedes to maintaining a separation of asexual purity and brutal sexual reality. And he wears a stoical face before this. Read his essay on Tradition and the Individual Talent, as well as Four Quartets, when he’s less concerned with depicting moribund Europe, to catch a sense of what I speak. Remember how I said there’s a certain kind of conservatism which I respect more than bourgeois liberalism—Eliot is of this type. Of course, the dichotomy he maintains is reactionary, but it’s due to a deep fatalism, not ignorance. (Counter him with Yeats or Pound, who, arising from the same milieu, opted to support Hitler and Mussolini.) And this fatalism is born out of the relation between fertility and death, which I touched on in my last letter—life feeds on itself. A fatalism I share with the western tradition at times."

I'm not happy that Romney's pac has agreed not to ring up reverend Wright.

Me either, Jane.
Good for Breitbart - they have a great scoop and it is up at Drudge.
Lies, lies, so many lies! Wherein lies the truth? lol.

Arms length, Jane.
Everything at arms length. I suspect there are other, ahem, parties that will make use of the audio.
Plausible deniability. Blind cut-outs and such in the media? The deuce you say.

Jane:
I dion't see how stimulating racial polarization based on charges made by a self-dramatizing a moonbat preacher helps Romney. His winning votes are likely to come out of the soccer mom demographic and GOP suburbia -- which does not react well to that kind of thing.
