I realize it's immaterial, but does anyone have a link to images of the staffer sitting behind Issa in the 2nd video? (I'd like to pass this on to Ignatz.)

http://ace.mu.nu/archives/329954.php

Jane

That's twice you have posted that asshole. Get lost. How dare you destroy 2 threads with your moonbat bullshit. No one wants you here. Grow up and leave.

hrtshpdbox

Wow, Ben Franklin, this is shocking - are you saying that Richard Nixon was a bit of a Machiavellian nutcase? Groundbreaking stuff, that. How does Obama stack up in that department, what with releasing a puffpiece to the NYT that's laced with classified information? Really, doesn't that seem more of an impeachable offense than shady backdoor diplomacy, or rifling through the file cabinet of an opponent? As a bonus, you'd think that having such a demonstrably stupid and corrupt AG might contribute to some cumulative effect where Americans finally stop regarding Obama as anything but a complete sham.

narciso

It's a wonder Jane, deliberately trying to topple an ally regime in this hemisphere, to this extent, Castaway was the parallel trick
against Honduras, which was the first to really challenge the administration,

Joan

Jane, you took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to post one word "bullshit."

Extraneus

Anduril used to fantasize about hundreds of lurkers drooling over his posts, Jane. Apparently he wasn't alone in that insanity. In either case, it was easy to scroll after reading three or four words, and still is.

Now about that staffer...

matt

Issa told a group of us months ago that he has had a lot of inside information on F&F that he is sitting on.There are a lot of people on the inside just waiting with long knives for Holder to finally get caught in a lie he can't get out of.

Captain Hate

Reading "The Great Upheaval" gives some insight into the choice of the troll's name. The real Ben Franklin, while highly regarded throughout the world, was "indifferent, even callous, to his lonely common-law wife, Deborah, not even returning home when she began her slow slide into a pitiful death. Vain and self-absorbed, he was bitter toward his estranged, illegitimate son William; almost unimaginably he would even teach his grandson to despise his father. He was distant with his daughter and didn't even bother to attend her wedding."

About that Epic/MRA poll in Michigan showing Romney leading.
First the pollster is based in Michigan and does know the state very very well. Second, the firm is made up of former staffer to Democrat state house congresscritters, i.e. Democrats. Third, EPIC/MRA ALWAYS finds more democrats than ever seem to show up at the polls. If they say a Republican is barely leading, its at least that.

Wisconsin, now Michigan. Iowa and Minnesota not far behind?

Anyone still thinking blowout is not possible?

I can't tell you how much those hearings today infuriated me. Holder is as slimy as Obama. But I actually think the National security leaks will have more traction because of the enraged democrats. And no one needs to know more than Obama refuses to allow a special counsel. He's guilty as sin.

Well I hope Romney will name one once Obama is gone.

Mark Halperin in Time with more of a lament than a report, he sounds both sad and angry, it was not suppose to be this way, remember the 50 year Democrat ascendancy? LOL Here:

With five months until Election Day, Barack Obama faces a grim new reality: Republicans now believe Mitt Romney can win, and Democrats believe Obama can lose ... Last week's anemic job-creation and economic-growth data was sandwiched between two Bill Clinton specials: in one television interview, the 42nd President lauded Romney's business record as "sterling"; in another, he veered from the Obama line on the extension of Bush-era tax cuts ... The failure to unseat Wisconsin's Republican governor Scott Walker in a recall election was another bad sign for Democrats since it will rev up conservatives nationwide, including the kind of millionaires who gave big bucks to Walker's effort ... Veteran Democratic strategists from previous presidential bids and on Capitol Hill now wonder if the Obama re-election crew is working with the right message ... The White House remains on a rough political trajectory, with a potentially adverse Supreme Court decision on the Obama health care law looming, additional bad economic news from Europe coming and more worrisome polling pending ... Another danger for the President: the media freak show. Stalking that circus' center ring is Matt Drudge, whose caustic website continues to help drive the news cycle with an emphasis on negative, mocking items about Obama and Vice President Joe Biden and their wives. The latest sign of Drudge's potency: Ed Klein, the author of the virulently anti-Obama book The Amateur, was barred from major TV appearances and mostly ignored by the mainstream media, but the book's prominence on Drudge's website propelled it to the No. 1 slot on the New York Times nonfiction list.
centralcal

BuzzFeed must have gotten hold of a Hawaii school days yearbook, because they are posting quite a few photos on Twitter.

There is one of 8 students (including Barry) in front of the blackboard containing this message: "Mixed Races of America."

Handwritten below the photo is "WHETHER YOU'RE A TAMURA, A CHING, OR AN OBAHA, WE SHARE THE SAME WORLD."

Never heard of an Obaha before. Would that be like OBA-HA-HA-HA-HA?

Oh, GMax, I read that earlier today and poor Halperin is really, really pissed off that Drudge just won't let the media (the MFM) control the message or the optics or the framing. He sounds furious.

A feel good story:

Brian Banks makes most of opportunity with Seahawks

RENTON — Brian Banks still has a chance, which is quite incredible considering all he has gone through.

He was incarcerated for five years and on parole for five more before being exonerated last month of charges of rape and kidnapping.

That's what made the tryout Thursday with the Seahawks so remarkable. After losing a decade to California's criminal-justice system, Banks was invited to Seattle for an audition as an NFL linebacker and he got to make the trip without the GPS tracking device he wore for years. Not only that, but his first impression was strong enough the team requested a second look, inviting him to participate in the team's three-day minicamp that begins Tuesday.

"I was really proud to be able to say that to him," coach Pete Carroll said. "And the light in his eye, the emotion that was running through him was amazing. This is a great illustration for us of why people deserve a second chance because of what he's overcome."

It was fitting that Banks' first NFL tryout would be with Carroll, the coach who offered him a scholarship to play linebacker at USC 10 years ago. ...More

Jane

Hey Janet,

When you return from your meet with C, S & Jimmy (of which I am insanely jealous) is there a website where I can get another teapot-flag?

The producer at the station wants one. I told her I would get her one but she has to pay with her vote. She had planned to vote for Obama. SO I figure it is worth it at any price AcORN would pay.

And some non-levity:

Ted Stevens Update:

Lead agent in botched Stevens case still with FBI. Why?

"An internal Justice Department report on the botched prosecution of Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens...also described misdeeds by the lead FBI agent in the case, Mary Beth Kepner, who was the subject of a whistleblower complaint by an FBI underling..."

"The report paints a picture of a woman who kept evidence from the defense, failed to follow FBI protocols, and who was, in her own words, "overwhelmed" and "disorganized" by the case."

"The report also said that Kepner forged documents and appears to have lied about doing so..."

The Whistleblowing underling, Chad Joy, left the FBI.

"Kepner remains an active agent with the FBI...

Jane,

I believe the contempt citation will come after Obama's defeat in November. The citation will be of such a nature that sweeping reform of the DoJ will be justified beginning in January.

We (the Tea Party) should press for massive dismissals encompassing anyone touched by any of Holder's malfeasance.

Watching the Heat v. Celtics game and one of the announcers wondered out loud why the Heat were not welcome by most fans. Why did the fans not like them even with the best player on BBall in Lebron?

Well, I had an ephinany about that. Its not the Heat nor is it Lebron. Its the media. The fans don't like the Heat because the media is telling them that the are the destiny of the BBall universe. They are the coming and the rule of a new order. Remind you of someone?

I like Lebron, I like Dwayne, I like Chris, I like the Heat but I don't like the media (ESPN specifically) to tell me that it is inevitable that the Heat will win because, well because, they have these guys who are like gods....

Remind you of someone and how they got that way?

Charlie (Colorado)

Daddy, the answer to that one is obvious: the FBI rewards agents it can trust.

henry

JiB, the Dallas Cowboys?

REally one has to go to the Dispatch, to find the truth;

The witness was Rocky Williams, a VECO foreman who worked on the remodeling of Stevens's home. When interviewed by a reporter in spring 2008, Williams said he wasn't aware of any backroom deals between Stevens and Allen. In fact, he recalled, there was open agreement that everything had to be done above board to avoid any criticism.

Still, prosecutors were planning to call Williams as a witness. But just before the Stevens trial began in Washington, D.C., they asked him questions about the construction in pre-trial interviews, and he gave them answers that would have been favorable to the defense. Williams was at the time sick (he would die a few months later).

Bruce

Sure hope so. Just got off the phone with a friend of mine who follows F&F fairly closely, and he said that a lot of his friends have said that if the Republicans don't hold Holder's feet to the fire here, they will replace them with Congress people who will. The anger from some quarters here is almost palatable.
daddy

"Next, the Masonic conspiracy that's hidden in plain sight on the dollar bill."

LOL Chaco!

narciso

There's a strong smell of Eickenrode here;

Mary Beth Kepner, as lead agent, was responsible for ensuring that those interviews were documented and that what was written stuck to the interview as much as possible. If an interview contained material that would help in the defense of a subject, that material would also have to be turned over to defendant's lawyers.

The Justice Department report cites numerous examples of Kepner not documenting her interviews -- in some cases because the interview wasn't favorable to the prosecution. Or, in her words, she didn't document some interviews because "we got no positive information" out of the witness.

Other 302s, the report found, differed substantively from notes taken by others who were present in the interviews. In some cases, she omitted statements. In other cases, she made additions to statements that would bolster the prosecution's case.

Or, your unrequited apology to Trayvon's family for trashing a 17 year-old boy?
Not sure of your point there. Are you claiming that he wasn't a druggie looking to make a rep by punching out, and maybe killing, Zimmerman? That he had not just purchased 2/3 of the components of "lean", a street drug? That he looked cool, collected, and completely together in the 7/11 footage? That he had not bragged about swinging on a bush driver?

I don't have as much sympathy for the Martins as some do - they got where they are now, with their public vendetta against Zimmerman, presumably so that they can sue him for wrongful death. It is their attorney who publicly has brought forward witnesses against Zimmerman (after being apparently coached by that attorney), has tainted the testimony of the actual witnesses to the altercation, caused Zimmerman to be indicted and grossly overcharged, and, most recently, gotten his bail revoked.

They most likely knew that their son was troubled. How could they miss his tats and gold grill, his being suspended from school, again, his drug use, etc.? And, yet, they continue to portray him as an angel.

The real team of destiny now seems to be OKC. They are youthful and very athletic and very, very good.
