By way of Hot Air I learn that Reason has detected Obama's retreat from history, or at least, past Presidential biographies:
In May, several folks took note that the White House’s web site had quietly added USA Today-style factoids promoting Obama’s accomplishments at the bottom of the biographies of other presidents, Democrat and Republican alike....
But as quietly as the Obama boasts appeared, they have been removed. The bullet points are now gone from all the biographies on the White House’s website.
Really? Some of them may be gone, but I can still find supplemental "Did You Know" plugs for Obama at the Kennedy, Reagan and Nixon bios. Also Coolidge, Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower, Johnson, and Carter. [And now Reason can, too, in their update.]
In fact, unless we are talking about a major format change, I don't think anything has happened. So what website was Reason looking at, or what am I seeing? I put in a few current screenshots below.
And here is how the NY Times described it last May:
The White House added the footnotes on Monday in a section titled, “Did You Know?” under the official biographies, which were written by the historian Michael Beschloss and the journalist Hugh Sidey. A White House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal operations told The New York Times and other news outlets on Tuesday that no biographies had been altered, and emphasized that the White House was simply adopting a promotion technique widely used on the Web.
Here is the bottom of the White House bio for Reagn:
And Kennedy:
Beats me. What are other people seeing?
Minus 12 at Raz today.

Pentagon plans to hold Gay Pride month event
We are done as a country when this type of nonsense is done at the Pentagon. What a waste of money & time & effort....to celebrate sex???
"Pentagon spokeswoman Eileen Lainez said the Pentagon is planning its first event for LGBT Pride month, which will be held later in June. Details about the event had yet to be finalized, she said."
"the Pentagon is planning"....really?, who exactly is doing this planning? Those are some government jobs we could do away with for sure. Our military is gonna celebrate transgender? What the hell is that anyway? We are done.

Hahahaha. dublindave is talking about a PELOSI prediction that the Supremes will uphold Obamacare 6-3. That's the "news" on Twitter.

Is there a genessis to the extraordinary inanity of Duda the last two days?
I think it all stems from when he started fantasizing about sex.

News is spilling out from every corner of the beltway that it's going to be upheld.I didn't hear of any pelosi blurb.
Check Fox.They're discussing it as we speak.

Only 6-3? Why not 9-0. After all, we cannot be serious that there is a Constitutional issue involved with anything the Nance wants.

SCOTUSBLOG reports that the Justices did their usual Thurs conference yesterday, Flag Day notwithstanding. A bunch of radio reporters released a letter asking the 9 Justices to live broadcast any reading of the decision, or alternatively release a tape immediately after the Court session reading the opinion ends. SCOTUSBLOG's commentator put the chances of a live broadcast as zero.

Did I miss something with DoT? Hope you are ok, buddy.

Janet-that's the kind of nonsense that has our best and brightest who thought it would be a career out after one enlistment. So sad.
NK-you mean the people who were planning to live at our expense? the ones that are well paid in public sector because of what they are willing to foist on us? who actually lack marketable knowledge or skills? Or any sense of the consequences of what they are foisting?
I think fast food or walmart are good places to really get a feel for the masses you were trying to screw with.
Q: if hypothetically people aspired to have high performance computing keeping track of lots of data about people, which companies have a business model that would benefit from such an official aspiration?
Especially if it could be quietly incorporated into something like what was sought in kyoto or copenhagen or now rio+20?

That's your protective side trying to keep me from harms way, that's naturla instinct. However, sooner or later you'll learn that you can't always be there protecting the ones you care for,hun bun.
My sources have told me it's going to be a 6-3 decision but people are afraid to report on it in case they're burnt.Still,it's as good as sold.Apperently they've accepted the complete constitutionality of the law.
Posted by: dublindave | June 15, 2012 at 10:17 AM
I too am skeptical that Holder will step down, and I pray I am wrong.
DOT, are you dancing yet? A friend of mine had knee replacement surgery a while back. She is dancing her butt off these days, but it took a while. So hang tough.
I have one question: Why do we even have a Congress if Obama does whatever he wants and no one says a word?
Posted by: Jane | June 15, 2012 at 10:42 AM
So, my sources are telling me that it was the top Republican leadership who pressured the right side of the court to uphold the entirety of the law.It was becoming clear that by opposing even the most popular aspects of the law, banning pre-exisitng conditions etc,Republicans were setting themselves up for six weeks of negative media attention followed by a loss of valuable independant votes needed to pave their way toward 270.
The RNC has been floating the notion of supporting JUST those positive aspects of Obamacare to stave off this PR nightmare but those provisions don't work without a mandate that streams alot of revenue toward the Insurance companies.Lot's of unhappy Insurance company folks have been up to the hill in the past two weeks killing that idea.
So,the RNC hopes the worsening job numbers will counter the bump Obama will get from the SCOTUS upholding his healthcare law.
That's politics, folks,Ya'll got stabbed in the back and you didn't even see it coming.

IMHO Holder will not leave until Obama leaves.
He is here for the duration.
