From The Hill:
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Monday that someone at the White House was responsible for the recent leaks of classified information.
“I think the White House has to understand that some of this is coming from their ranks,” Feinstein said in an address at the World Affairs Council, the Associated Press first reported.
No kidding. Fortunately, AG Holder is delivering a fast and furious investigation.
Heck of a thing when one of the most stalwart liberals blames the White House directly. More of a heck of a thing when the White House completely ignores the message.

“Just as you protected America, we’re going to pass our country to the next generation, stronger and safer and more respected in the world,” Obama said at the 113th annual convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Reno, Nevada.
Oh … this doesn’t look good …
The Australian foreign minister has privately warned Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney that foreign leaders see “America in decline.”
Thanks Barack … for nothing

"Jack Cashill
Salon contributor Eric McHenry will likely be surprised to find himself categorized as "the media," but his omissions and evasions about Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis so impressively mirror the major media's that he deserves the honor.
What drew my attention to McHenry's recent article in Salon,"Obama's Oddest Critic," is that yours truly is the "critic" in question. According to the subtitle, "Jack Cashill is obsessed with the president's college poetry and positive it proves his life is 'one massive fraud.'" In that exactly none of my most recent 100 articles is about Obama's poetry -- and only a few even mention it -- I doubt I rank high on anyone's obsession index other than McHenry's.
The reason I mention the poetry at all is to shed light on the young Obama's relationship with Davis, his Hawaiian mentor. In my early writing on Obama's literary talents, I took him at his word that he wrote some "very bad poetry" and largely ignored the two radically different poems he submitted as an Occidental College undergraduate, the cringe-worthy "Underground" and the more complex "Pop."
It was my co-conspirator Don Wilkie who prompted me to take another look at the latter poem. "I have read 'Pop' now maybe 20 or 30 times," Wilkie wrote me a few years back, "and I think it is about Obama telling us that 'Pop' really is, his pop."..."

From pg 62, of the Webster report;
[In mid]-2011, an FBI report documented an interview with an FBI subject in which [the subject] claimed to have met Aulaqi after the Fort Hood shootings. According to [the subject], Aulaqi told him that Hasan “had contacted him via the Internet and had asked what he could do to help Muslims” and that Aulaqi had “advised Hasan that since he was an American soldier, he should kill other American soldiers.” According to [the subject], Aulaqi said he had given Hasan “permission to carry out his attacks on Fort Hood.”
Although Hasan did contact Aulaqi via the Internet, we found no evidence, direct or indirect, that Aulaqi made these purported statements to Hasan (see Chapter 7). The evidence shows instead that Aulaqi did not even respond to Hasan’s first message and its question about whether the acts of Muslim soldiers who had killed other soldiers could be reconciled with the Quran. The Washington Post reported on November 16, 2009, that in an interview with a Yemeni journalist, Aulaqi “said that he neither ordered nor pressured Maj. Nidal M. Hasan to harm Americans….”
That shows what a joke, the whole thing is;

After the media blizzard, and calls for a special counsel (including one Barack Obama) and eventual prosecution regarding said leak, it is hard to empathize with the administration's lack of energy regarding doing something about said leak.

Sue,
Apparently it's not illegal in this case for them to own it since one of their options is to keep it, but I imagine it is illegal to transfer it in any way not just sell it.
Maybe they could give it to Elizabeth Warren; no doubt she can get one of those Fish and Wildlife permits for Indian ceremonies.

Ah, geez, it's DuDa. Well, there is a serious dispute about knowledge and intent - Fitzgerald never demonstrated that Libby, Armitage, or anyone else in his sights was aware of Ms. Plame's classified status. In fact, it seems that the senior CIA officials speaking with Cheney and Libby were also unaware of her status. Fortunately, David Corn and Joe Wilson managed to bring the leak to everyone's attention.
By way of contrast, some of the Obama Admin leaks seemed to most people to be new news. Obviously, the revelation that we are running drones out of Pakistan might create an awkward moment for the diplomats but would not fit in that category.

Tapper is working overtime for the Obama campaign. He is bound and determined that Obama's "you didn't build that" was taken out of context. I really want to know how you put it in context with the rest of his speech, but even if I accept it was out of context, he means the same thing. You didn't build your business without someone helping you. Why the hell are they fighting it so hard?

Here is the full context:
There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
The entire point Obama is making is that if you are successful, you just lucked into that success. It's not because you are smart or hard working. You just happend to win life's lottery.
That is why they are trying so hard to make it go away.

I think what Tapper is doing is more than that. Part of the research the Frankfurt School did is that if you hear something more than x number of times, roughly 5 or 6, you believe it even if it is not true. Tapper is trying to create a dispute as to whether it was taken out of context when there's reasonably not one.
He wants the low info voter to believe there's a dispute as to context they discount the statement.
This is a high stakes election for the media. Virtually all of their owners have bet big on this Sustainable Green Economy Corporatist govt directed economy.
That's what the Tea Party threatens. The recognition on what is actually going on and that American do not want to be ruled by any politicians or bureaucrats. Even a percentage of those on the dole know it is debilitating and do not want this dependency for next generation.
Someone with a convincing vision for a better, non-govt future, has the ability to fracture the Dem coalition apart frpm public employee union officials and the bureaucrat/administrator class that lives far better than anyone in private sector would pay.

All of the items in the preceding paragraphs have been put into place. All can be documented very easily. Before you disavow this do an Internet search. The last paragraph alone is not yet cast in stone. You and I will write that paragraph.
Will it read as above or will it be a more happy ending for most of America ?
Don't just belittle the opposition. Search for the truth. We all need to pull together or watch the demise of a free democratic society. Pray for Americans to seek the truth and take action for it will keep us FREE. Our biggest enemy is not China , Russia , North Korea or Iran . Our biggest enemy is a contingent of politicians in Washington , DC . The government will not help, so we need to do it ourselves.
It's your decision. I believe it does matter. How about you?
WHEN - November 2012 comes, it will matter who you vote for!

The utter lack of understanding of how business or government, or, really, anything works on the part of Zero and his supporters, is truly mind-boggling.
The other thing about his "you didn't build that" speech is the idea that roads and bridges and the internet and good teachers are magical gifts from - well, somewhere, anyway.
Those things were paid for, by the very people who "didn't build" their own businesses and "didn't earn" the money they make. Government workers - be they teachers, or scientists, or bureaucrats, or whatever, are OUR EMPLOYEES. We hire them to do things that we as a society deem important, and which we realize probably can't be done by individuals or private companies.
We hire them, and we pay them. They're not unpaid volunteers, they're not selfless angels of mercy, they're EMPLOYEES.
It's not that complicated, really.

(Sorry for the quality)
Obama gets so many words out and the trained audience responds "uhhh huhhh!!". This repeats as long as Obama needs to hear praise. He gets so we-weed up he just continues to ramble as the audience continues to cheer.
Here is the speech:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKjPI6no5ng
"Uhhh huhhh!!!"
He did the same thing when he botched the toast to the Queen. he thought the orchestra was playing for him so he just kept ramping it up.
We should form a 20 person group to go to these speeches and shout out "uhhh huhhhs" until he proudly says something stupid.

"This is an ideology which says hey, we're all the same here, we ought to take from all and give to one another and that achievement, individual initiative and risk-taking and success are not to be rewarded as they have in the past," Romney said. "It's a very strange and, in some respects, foreign to the American experience type of philosophy."
I have to take exception to this comment by Governor Romney.
Mitt is dead wrong.
It is not "a very strange and in some respects , foreign to the American experience type of philosophy."
It is in actuality exactly the philosophy that reigned in jamestown between 1607-1611, and in the Plymouth Colony between 1619-1623.
It was a philosophy absolutely and totally engaged in by these new Americans, and which because it lead to abject and complete failure. and the almost complete annihilation of their colonies during their first crucial few years, it was rejected in mass and replaced by the system that champions personal property, the rights and sense of the citizen, and the brilliance of the free market to provide the solutions.
So Mitt you were wrong. It is not that that system is foreign to America. It is instead that that system was rejected by Americans because it manifestly did not and cannot work, and capitalism is the wonderful alternative that does work.

As a direct result of the CIA establishing the non-covert status of Plame, the State Dept employee present at the meeting reported the non-covert status in his report to his State Dept superiors. Which directly resulted in one of those State Dept superiors disclosing the non-covert status when discussing Plame with reporters. One of those reporters being the exact journalist who reported the (non-covert) CIA-employee status of Ms. Plame.
No, the actual non-covert status of Plame was established in February of 2002, established by Ms. Plame's direct superiors in the CIA, when they assembled a meeting including Plame, Wilson, a State Dept. guy, and some others, to discuss sending Wilson to Niger.Posted by: cathyf | July 25, 2012 at 03:26 PM
