Here is a puzzler:
DNA Said to Link Occupy Wall St. Protest and 2004 Killing
By WILLIAM K. RASHBAUM and WENDY RUDERMAN
DNA recovered from a chain at the site of an Occupy Wall Street protest in March has been matched with DNA linked to the unsolved killing of a Juilliard student in 2004, law enforcement officials familiar with the case said on Tuesday.
The student, Sarah Fox, 21, disappeared while on a jog in Inwood Hill Park in May 2004, and her naked body was found in the park almost a week later surrounded by yellow tulip petals. The DNA on the chain from the New York protest, the officials said, was matched with DNA found on her portable compact disc player, which was found in the park several days after her body was discovered.
Investigators were seeking to determine the significance of the DNA match. One law enforcement official said it was unclear who might have touched both the CD player and the chain and why, noting that it was possible that the person who did so might not have been the killer.
“Whether it’s a friend or the bad guy, we have to find out,” the official said.
The chain was used in March to prop open an emergency exit door at a subway station as part of an Occupy Wall Street action to allow passengers to ride free.
The police later released surveillance video of people in dark hoods and masks wrapping a long silver chain around the emergency exit door.
Hello . . .
Is there anybody out there?

TomM-- no puzzler at all. The OWS schmucks were a disaster for the Dems and Legacy Media. OWS turned off voters to 'income inequality' and eat the rich pitches. Those pitches are all 'Bam and the Dems have this year. Soooo... Pinch has to 'Slimes' OWS, as part of the meme that the 99% cause is just, but OWS was infiltrated by thugs, blah, blah, blah. Watch this meme develop all summer.
OT-- Tom I urge you to watch BBC America's Jamie Oliver Food Revolution. That wacky Brit Chef is in Huntington WV trying to reform the school district's processed food menu to prevent childhood obesity. He covers 2 JOM topics, proper diet components and the fascistic school bureaucracy. Jamie O is NUTZ, but in a good way A think. I must watch for you I believe.

Posted by: Danube of Thought | July 11, 2012 at 09:48 AM
The point is the Bam/Dem campaign is eat the rich, fair share, top5% bad. That's their pitch. OWS ruined that pitch for many voters, so the Dems have to discredit the OWS PEOPLE as misguided or worse. The Dems are going to push the message that eat the rich is righteous, but OWS were bad apples. Will it work? Doubt it-- the Dems own OWS, after all they are Lizzie Warren's children.
Posted by: NK | July 11, 2012 at 09:54 AM
I guess DNA testing is dirt cheap now if they're using it for petty crimes. I hope that's good news.

The Cherokendonesian occupooper mini-horde. Who knows how many rape, murder and arson cases might have been cleared had the union goon cops been a tad more diligent in doing DNA swabs when they cleared out the trash?
Posted by: Rick Ballard | July 11, 2012 at 10:05 AM
Rick, I think maybe they saw their chance when they had multiple lowlifes touching one object (the chain). Maybe they decided it was worth the $$ on DNA testing to see who they could sweep up.

As a quick barometer, I look at MUB (municipal bonds) to get a feel for economic health of this category.
With bad news from Scranton, San Bernardino and so on (as well as overhang in general from IL and CA), I've been expecting weakness in MUB. So far though, I'm not seeing it.
Have I picked a bad indicator? Are markets beginning to price in a Mitt victory and more sensible gov't actions?

I love the whole CSI genre. I hope they solve the case with the DNA they found. It'a two-fer: crime solved, OWS discredited again.Cue the support tapes for OWS from Obama , Pelosi, Hoyer and Reid and voila: a new campaign ad.
Imus played the Mitchell, Sunuunu tape this morning on his show and it was Hilarious. Andrea was left sputtering as Sunnunu laughed his head off. Imus proclaimed Mitchell an idiot and they moved on.

Blue Model Dead-- EVEN IN CALIFORNIA: link below to a blog post that summarizes where we are. Blue staters will pay taxes for current social services, but they want to limit pension to retired employess. Even Blue staters now understand that the cozy pension deals the public unions and politicians made during the 25 fat years 1983-2008, are stealing from current services. Californians don't want to take away public union pension collective bargaining, but they want to dictate the pension rules-- basically the same thing. NYC has a $50B budget-- obscene-- and 16% of the WHOLE budget is pension costs. Pension costs are 7 times higher than 2001-- 7Xs higher in 10 years. I assume that is true all over America. The public unions are going to get it in the neck and rightfully so.

We now know that 'Bam/Reid would lose that vote, all brackets would be extended by the Senate. So, Boehner, pass a House tax extension and send it to the Senate. Mitch, demand a vote everyday the Senate is in session.

NK-I am very concerned that some grievance foundations that were set up to fund historically black colleges have now hooked up with the accreditors and the power of govt to try to mandate no one will learn much. I followed one track last night and it took me back to the former head of the COE at Temple. Not a helpful approach for anyone but the power brokers.
On OWS, the earlier Eisler book I mentioned on Monday lays out the false narratives and true facts to be declared as myths that were a part of her partnership education. Her center was created in 1987 so that's the last 20 years that profs have been pushing her storyline of characteristics and values of the dominator economy.
I thought about OWS when I read what I could bear to read of her work because she and her acolytes have been trying to create the mindset ready to be manipulated.
What I have been working on this morning point blank says we believe the personality is malleable and this is what we want to do via education to change it.
I keep wanting to shriek to someone "Dude! That's yet another thing that should not be put in print. Especially with such a public false narrative on the point."
Posted by: rse | July 11, 2012 at 11:52 AM

I suspect that anyone outside of the party who nominated a senatorial candidate who had to clarify that she wasn't in league with satan or being fucked by any one of his hundred personal demons, in a statewide tv ad,doesn't like Mitt's repeal schtick.Sure,It plays well at CPAC but so does killing innocent human beings.

School district administrators and teacher union reps (from the WORST school districts in the USA BTW), social service bureaucrats and 'service providers' who get 100% of their funding from government sources, hospital worker union reps, special ed teachers, university academics and 'diversity' administrators, abortion clinic operators, transit worker union reps, and maybe some cops. hard working Americans? The JEF's unwillingness to sit down with black pastors who are very opposed to gay marriage will convince some fence sitters to go with Romney and may cause some tepid Bammy supporters to either be open to suggestion or just stay at home in November. We're not talking large numbers but I think they're more valuable to the JEF than he's been indicating by not pandering to them.

And the NAACP is not yelling about profiling cuz its them, and Holder and after all they are "my people"?

The headline grabber does not inform you that the police never found out who murdered the violinist. Nor are they even close to doing so, now.
What's the gambit? Well, mostly nothing.
But for all those Occupy Wall Street types ... it's a play on their fears. Was there a murderer amongst them? Were any friendships formed? You know, I doubt this.
But I do think the NYPD are painting the Occupy Wall Street gang ... as a continued threat. Instead of a failure. Maybe, it's a budget ploy?
Not an ONION headline, either.

There's a ceiling to Romney's popularity. And, on election day we will find out what the number is.
Both sides are aware they only need a little above 50% to claim the "winner takes all" prize.
And, Romney, who doesn't seem to be able to overcome the hatred that's been in play against Obama, can't seem to come out of the woods, yet, as a likeable guy.
When all you need are a few extra voters ... it seems "being nice" is something that the republicans don't even think needs to be put in play.
While Obama's been taking hits even on the fact that his mother was a 17 year old when she gave birth. AND, that she had had sex with a Black man.
While Obama doesn't want to discuss how single moms, back in those days, had to give up their babies to infertile couples. Through lawyers who plied the unwed mothers homes to get their hands on babies.
Culture, itself, went and changed the standards, though.
And, in 2008, when Obama won, the race wasn't even close! McCain pointed to the ceiling of 44%. Can't say the presidency was robbed from McCain, ya know.

Toth often received serious replies in return, autographed photos of his targets and even invitations to meet and greet. Like Carol, he wrote in fragments of disassociate thought, with just enough coherence to fool his letters' recipients.
I think Carol Herman (or Herman Carroll, or Laslo Toth) is having fun in the same way. Well, I'm amused, anyway. Mildly.

Megyn is doing a nice segment on the revelation by the WSJ that Unions have spent 4 times more money on Political donations from 2005 - 2011 than previously revealed.
Previously from required paperwork revelations it was reported that they spent 1.1 Billion dollars during that time period on Political donations. Now it is revealed that they have spent 4.4 Billions during the time period.
Megyn's lefty guest says there is nothing here worth looking at, everybody does it, Superpacs do it all the time without the difficulties of having to mobilize and organize their workers, so this is nothing to talk about.
Megyn says "false, that's not what the WSJ report says,"
then explains why.
The Righty responds intelligently, and the Lefty says the Righty is building a Boogie Man to smear Unions. Lefty says that part of the extra 3.3 Billion is "Advocacy spending, required to tell their members how to vote," and that that is "different from political donations, so that is why they had not previously disclosed it on required forms because such advocacy spending does not equate to political donations."
Not word for word, but thats pretty much the segment. Nice job Megyn.

I have the 10 year pricing at 1.50 currently. Not sure if something went off at 1.45 or not, but it must not have been for long. A computerized trading glitch? Had to say but its alarming enough that 10 year money is pricing at 1.5%.

You can't "fat finger" an auction.
Record participation, %-wise, by Direct bidders, aka Non-Primary Dealers bidding for the "House Account". Somebody needed this paper, badly.
Collateral call coming, anyone?

10 year Auction?-- if you are an optimist you believe the buyers are institutions looking for a premium over the German %1.29 10 year; if you are a pessimist you believe rich investors have concluded a US rececession is here, and are switching from risk assets to Treasuries. I'm not smart enough to know which is right. I just hope my investment guy chooses wisely.
