Hello . . .
Is there anybody out there?

NK

TomM-- no puzzler at all. The OWS schmucks were a disaster for the Dems and Legacy Media. OWS turned off voters to 'income inequality' and eat the rich pitches. Those pitches are all 'Bam and the Dems have this year. Soooo... Pinch has to 'Slimes' OWS, as part of the meme that the 99% cause is just, but OWS was infiltrated by thugs, blah, blah, blah. Watch this meme develop all summer.
OT-- Tom I urge you to watch BBC America's Jamie Oliver Food Revolution. That wacky Brit Chef is in Huntington WV trying to reform the school district's processed food menu to prevent childhood obesity. He covers 2 JOM topics, proper diet components and the fascistic school bureaucracy. Jamie O is NUTZ, but in a good way A think. I must watch for you I believe.

NK

Damn typos "... I think. A must watch for you..."

Frau Steingehirn

The preezy is still using the OWS 1% carp. It resonates well with Pisher College types.

Extraneus

I thought he was back down to demonizing the top 5%, Frau.

Yes.

Danube of Thought

Minus 14 at Raz today.

Trails Romney by 1.

NK

The point is the Bam/Dem campaign is eat the rich, fair share, top5% bad. That's their pitch. OWS ruined that pitch for many voters, so the Dems have to discredit the OWS PEOPLE as misguided or worse. The Dems are going to push the message that eat the rich is righteous, but OWS were bad apples. Will it work? Doubt it-- the Dems own OWS, after all they are Lizzie Warren's children.

Ralph L

I guess DNA testing is dirt cheap now if they're using it for petty crimes. I hope that's good news.

Rick Ballard

"after all they are Lizzie Warren's children"

The Cherokendonesian occupooper mini-horde. Who knows how many rape, murder and arson cases might have been cleared had the union goon cops been a tad more diligent in doing DNA swabs when they cleared out the trash?

Porchlight

Rick, I think maybe they saw their chance when they had multiple lowlifes touching one object (the chain). Maybe they decided it was worth the $$ on DNA testing to see who they could sweep up.

As a quick barometer, I look at MUB (municipal bonds) to get a feel for economic health of this category.
With bad news from Scranton, San Bernardino and so on (as well as overhang in general from IL and CA), I've been expecting weakness in MUB. So far though, I'm not seeing it.

Have I picked a bad indicator? Are markets beginning to price in a Mitt victory and more sensible gov't actions?

maryrose

I love the whole CSI genre. I hope they solve the case with the DNA they found. It'a two-fer: crime solved, OWS discredited again.Cue the support tapes for OWS from Obama , Pelosi, Hoyer and Reid and voila: a new campaign ad.
Imus played the Mitchell, Sunuunu tape this morning on his show and it was Hilarious. Andrea was left sputtering as Sunnunu laughed his head off. Imus proclaimed Mitchell an idiot and they moved on.

maryrose

OT;
JJJR. is in trouble up to his eyeballs. He's just laying low before the --it hits the fan.

ETF's won't ever show you what you want. Take a look at the size of the underlying pool to see if any of those cities would even make a blip on the price. I've seen some with almost 2,000 underlying securities.

Clarice

I love that tape. I think it's going in this week's column, alongside Gallup's poll on how the public is finally wising up that TV news is not worth watching.

Melinda Romanoff

maryrose-

I'll bet he's "laying" low.

Probably someplace with refridgeration.

centralcal

Can't wait Clarice. Also, note that fewer and fewer liberals trust the news - and we all know liberals have quite the monopoly on traditional news sources. Interesting, but I have no clue what it means.

Don't ever think lovable Jamie is in it for the cheeldren. He's in it for himself and will brook no interference from parents or any one else who might upset sales of his DVDs.

The reference to the Iraq museum, brought this link to mind;

Blue Model Dead-- EVEN IN CALIFORNIA: link below to a blog post that summarizes where we are. Blue staters will pay taxes for current social services, but they want to limit pension to retired employess. Even Blue staters now understand that the cozy pension deals the public unions and politicians made during the 25 fat years 1983-2008, are stealing from current services. Californians don't want to take away public union pension collective bargaining, but they want to dictate the pension rules-- basically the same thing. NYC has a $50B budget-- obscene-- and 16% of the WHOLE budget is pension costs. Pension costs are 7 times higher than 2001-- 7Xs higher in 10 years. I assume that is true all over America. The public unions are going to get it in the neck and rightfully so.

Jim,MtnView,Ca,USA

NK: blue state link?

Extraneus

Never heard that one, Jim. Thanks!

NK

KevinB-- I'm as cynical as the next guy, but IMO Jamie O isn't shovng kids out of the way to make a pound. IMO he isn't 'lovable' he's nutz, but not in a bad way. I do celebrity chef restaurant deals pretty regularly, and there are far easier ways for JamieO to make a pound than going to Soweto or Huntington WV to push better eating. But I'll watch and see how he does; I'm definitely curious-- and outraged at what schools feed kids and what American kids are programmed to eat these days.

Daily Caller:

On the heels of The Weekly Standard’s report yesterday that DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz — a vocal critic of Mitt Romney‘s investing practices, had herself dabbled in the foreign markets — we can add Nancy Pelosi to the list of prominent Democrats to profit from overseas investments. According to Pelosi’s 2011 financial disclosure statement, the Democratic House Minority Leader received between $1 million and $5 million in partnership income from ”Matthews International Capital Management LLC,” a group that emphasizes that it has a “A Singular Focus on Investing in Asia.”
NK

ABO/T1000 Unit@NAACP-- read his speech. He said straight out he knows 90% of AAs will vote against him, and he flat out says he'll repeal Obamacare. The repeal line is cool-- 90% of the NAACP delegates have got to be welfare industry types who get a piece of the massive Medicaid entitlement spending in Obamacare-- Mitt is saying flat out he'll cut their purse strings. I like that.

Captain Hate

Mitt getting booed at the NAACP when he pledges to repeal Bammycare. Yes, shocker that it occurred but excellent move by Romney to take that into a setting that isn't packed with sycophants and toadies.

Janet

but excellent move by Romney to take that into a setting that isn't packed with sycophants and toadies.

NK

"Some will change." Alas very few AA will change their voting. The AA community is heavily invested in the welfare industry either as clients or administrators, the Dems take them for granted because they are not going anywhere as voters. Rove is right about one thing Repubs/Conservs will do much better with latino/asian immigrants who are far more family and business oriented than AAs.

Captain Hate

NK, Tammy Bruce, scorching the airwaves for one last day while sitting in for Laura Ingraham, played a clip and the booing was more pronounced than even I expected. Again, this was an excellent move on Romney's part and something that the JEF would avoid (like addressing CPAC) more than assisting his impoverished relatives.

NK, I'm red hot for an ABO/T1000 Unit paired with a Tea Party Congress. It's a package deal.

NK

OT-- Sen Reid refuses to allow votes on 'Bam's 0-$250K rate extension AND a vote on all rates including $250K extended. Never listen to what politicians say, only watch what they do. We now know that 'Bam/Reid would lose that vote, all brackets would be extended by the Senate. So, Boehner, pass a House tax extension and send it to the Senate. Mitch, demand a vote everyday the Senate is in session.

rse

NK-I am very concerned that some grievance foundations that were set up to fund historically black colleges have now hooked up with the accreditors and the power of govt to try to mandate no one will learn much. I followed one track last night and it took me back to the former head of the COE at Temple. Not a helpful approach for anyone but the power brokers.

On OWS, the earlier Eisler book I mentioned on Monday lays out the false narratives and true facts to be declared as myths that were a part of her partnership education. Her center was created in 1987 so that's the last 20 years that profs have been pushing her storyline of characteristics and values of the dominator economy.

I thought about OWS when I read what I could bear to read of her work because she and her acolytes have been trying to create the mindset ready to be manipulated.

What I have been working on this morning point blank says we believe the personality is malleable and this is what we want to do via education to change it.

I keep wanting to shriek to someone "Dude! That's yet another thing that should not be put in print. Especially with such a public false narrative on the point."

NK

CH- I fully support that package deal. I believe we'll get the POTUS and House parts-- the Senate? What will Mitch do with TP priorities? I have no idea.

dublindave

"July 11 and DuDa is unaware that Romney will win."

A coalition of interests booing an invited speaker is a indication that what he stands for is so reprehensible, they're willing to publicly humiliate him.

I suspect that anyone outside of the party who nominated a senatorial candidate who had to clarify that she wasn't in league with satan or being fucked by any one of his hundred personal demons, in a statewide tv ad,doesn't like Mitt's repeal schtick.Sure,It plays well at CPAC but so does killing innocent human beings.

I think we just found out what ordinary Americans really feel about full on repeal.

Sweet!

If anyone says 'well it's black people' we can hammer then with racist slurs.

There is absolutely no reason for the Republicans to "court" the AA vote. Even though, most AAs believe in traditional marriage, the fact that O is black trumps all.

"People resort to sodas when they have to feed their kid's bellies." - Rosa DeLauro

Good Lord, was that woman scary or what!?!!

NK

NCAAP convention = 'hard working americans'? are you shittin' me. The NAACP convention? That is the welfare industry writ large-- it is the croniest of crony groups -- who trade votes for taxpayer dollar handouts. School district administrators and teacher union reps (from the WORST school districts in the USA BTW), social service bureaucrats and 'service providers' who get 100% of their funding from government sources, hospital worker union reps, special ed teachers, university academics and 'diversity' administrators, abortion clinic operators, transit worker union reps, and maybe some cops. hard working Americans? Ha.. haha....ha,ha,ha,.....HAAAH!

Ct's own Rosa D-- I hope she doesn't actually believe 10% of what comes out of her mouth.

bio mom

Mitt also got a standing ovation at the end. Everyone in the media will focus on the booing but there was quite a bit of applause for other things he said. And I know I am a strong Mitt supporter, but it was a beautiful, heartfelt speech in some sections touching and spiritual.

Janet

I believe some will change. Maybe not the active NAACP crowd...they just advocated gay marriage, right? My church has more & more black families attending every Sunday. They want the best for their children too. Who wants the economic & moral wasteland of the libs?

NK

BioMom-- glad to hear the convention delegates were polite at the end, but 99% of the delegates will vote for the Dems anyway. And that's fine-- as long as we don't BS about what groups of people are really about. Hard working Americans?...

narciso

Well I have few expectations about the folks behind the 'James Byrd ad', because W opposed
the 'hate crimes law' even though one of the perpetrators got the death penalty, as I recall, something that wouldn't have happened

Sue

I thought the speech went over well ... considering the crowd.

Captain Hate

I believe some will change. Maybe not the active NAACP crowd...they just advocated gay marriage, right?

The JEF's unwillingness to sit down with black pastors who are very opposed to gay marriage will convince some fence sitters to go with Romney and may cause some tepid Bammy supporters to either be open to suggestion or just stay at home in November. We're not talking large numbers but I think they're more valuable to the JEF than he's been indicating by not pandering to them.

centralcal

I agree, Sue - about Romney's speech. I am glad too that he quite strongly stated his positions without pandering to the group.

As for the booing - pheh. As bio mom mentioned, he also ended with a standing ovation.

Plus:

Jim Acosta ‏@jimacostacnn
Just spoke with several NAACP members who objected to Romney booing. One said she was raised not to treat guests that way.

GMAX

So let me get this straight, now. To get in to hear the Eric Holder speech at the NAACP, you know the AG suing a couple states over Voter ID provisions, you had to show government issued photo ID to hear a speech, but its a problem and racist to require for the sacred act of voting in a democracy?

And the NAACP is not yelling about profiling cuz its them, and Holder and after all they are "my people"?

Is the ONION writing this stuff? You could make a great sit com out of the silly stuff Democrats do and say...

GMAX

This took a lot of courage to say at the NAACP meeting, but its the truth and I am proud Romney said it:

"I’m hopeful that together we can set a new direction in federal policy, starting where many of our problems do — with the family. A study from the Brookings Institution has shown that for those who graduate from high school, get a full-time job, and wait until 21 before they marry and then have their first child, the probability of being poor is 2 percent. And if those factors are absent, the probability of being poor is 76 percent.

Here at the NAACP, you understand the deep and lasting difference the family makes. Your former executive director, Dr. Benjamin Hooks, had it exactly right. The family, he said, “remains the bulwark and the mainstay of the black community. That great truth must not be overlooked.”

Carol Herman

The headline grabber does not inform you that the police never found out who murdered the violinist. Nor are they even close to doing so, now.

What's the gambit? Well, mostly nothing.

But for all those Occupy Wall Street types ... it's a play on their fears. Was there a murderer amongst them? Were any friendships formed? You know, I doubt this.

But I do think the NYPD are painting the Occupy Wall Street gang ... as a continued threat. Instead of a failure. Maybe, it's a budget ploy?

Not an ONION headline, either.

rse

GMax-have you seen the stuff over the last few days on this Admin applying Title IX to STEM degrees?

There's a ceiling to Romney's popularity. And, on election day we will find out what the number is.

Both sides are aware they only need a little above 50% to claim the "winner takes all" prize.

And, Romney, who doesn't seem to be able to overcome the hatred that's been in play against Obama, can't seem to come out of the woods, yet, as a likeable guy.

When all you need are a few extra voters ... it seems "being nice" is something that the republicans don't even think needs to be put in play.

While Obama's been taking hits even on the fact that his mother was a 17 year old when she gave birth. AND, that she had had sex with a Black man.

While Obama doesn't want to discuss how single moms, back in those days, had to give up their babies to infertile couples. Through lawyers who plied the unwed mothers homes to get their hands on babies.

Culture, itself, went and changed the standards, though.

And, in 2008, when Obama won, the race wasn't even close! McCain pointed to the ceiling of 44%. Can't say the presidency was robbed from McCain, ya know.

Extraneus

Good Lord, was that woman scary or what!?!!

Memo To TomM: send better Trolls! One's drunk the other retarded.

jimmyk

Turnout is certainly the bigger variable for the AA voters. That went from about 60% in 2004 to 65% in 2008. If it goes back to 60%, Barry loses something like a million votes, even if his percentage stays the same.

GMAX

More good stuff from the Mittster. Here:

With 90 percent of African-Americans voting for Democrats, some of you may wonder why a Republican would bother to campaign in the African American community, and to address the NAACP. Of course, one reason is that I hope to represent all Americans, of every race, creed or sexual orientation, from the poorest to the richest and everyone in between.

But there is another reason: I believe that if you understood who I truly am in my heart, and if it were possible to fully communicate what I believe is in the real, enduring best interest of African American families, you would vote for me for president. I want you to know that if I did not believe that my policies and my leadership would help families of color — and families of any color — more than the policies and leadership of President Obama, I would not be running for president.

Sue

I listened to the speech. Was he on teleprompter?

Melinda Romanoff

No stagflation, just stagnation.

NK

'flation'-- IMO the Dollar will tank relative to commodity based currency (the Loonie, the Aussie Dollar etc) so oil and food prices will spike in Dollar terms, i.e. back to $4 gas. Ben B will say this is temporary-- 'temporary'-- except for the times you buy gas and eat fresh foods.

While Obama's been taking hits even on the fact that his mother was a 17 year old when she gave birth. AND, that she had had sex with a Black man.

That's truly hilarious. I'm convinced that Carol Herman is Don Novello whose pen name was Laslo Toth. As Toth, Novello wrote letters to crooked politicians and self-adoring celebrities, oozing admiration for their most scandalous behaviors and the deepest respect for their lies. Toth often received serious replies in return, autographed photos of his targets and even invitations to meet and greet. Like Carol, he wrote in fragments of disassociate thought, with just enough coherence to fool his letters' recipients.

I think Carol Herman (or Herman Carroll, or Laslo Toth) is having fun in the same way. Well, I'm amused, anyway. Mildly.

Megyn is doing a nice segment on the revelation by the WSJ that Unions have spent 4 times more money on Political donations from 2005 - 2011 than previously revealed.

Previously from required paperwork revelations it was reported that they spent 1.1 Billion dollars during that time period on Political donations. Now it is revealed that they have spent 4.4 Billions during the time period.

Megyn's lefty guest says there is nothing here worth looking at, everybody does it, Superpacs do it all the time without the difficulties of having to mobilize and organize their workers, so this is nothing to talk about.

Megyn says "false, that's not what the WSJ report says,"
then explains why.

The Righty responds intelligently, and the Lefty says the Righty is building a Boogie Man to smear Unions. Lefty says that part of the extra 3.3 Billion is "Advocacy spending, required to tell their members how to vote," and that that is "different from political donations, so that is why they had not previously disclosed it on required forms because such advocacy spending does not equate to political donations."

Not word for word, but thats pretty much the segment. Nice job Megyn.
