Paul Ryan for Romney's VP. I would have been excited to see Usain Bolt run for VP but the distance might not be right for him.

Janet, you will need to help me with the blockquotes. I'll contact you privately. My neighbors have had a block party for the last 47 years, but I don't think I can quote anyone.
Clarice, Ulsterman is right about Ryan and the Tea Party. Ryan campaigned with the Tea Party Express all spring in support of Walker (as did Priebus). It was and continues to be an effective pairing. Right now I regret sleeping in July 4 -- Ryan was at the Rochester Parade and hung out with the locals at the BBQ / Brat Fest after the parade. No aides, no security, genuine mingling with his constituents. My neighbors still razz me for missing that, it will be tuff getting that close ever again.
I know how the "tea party" people feel, the anger, venom and bile that many of them showed during the recent House vote on health-care reform. I know because I want to spit on them, take one of their "Obama Plan White Slavery" signs and knock every racist and homophobic tooth out of their Cro-Magnon heads.
I was just reading the twitter feed at Real Clear Politics and the talking point anti Ryan theme seems to be lack of foreign policy experience. As opposed to Obama's as a candidate which was ..... (Janet, see my .... I'm paying attention)
The problem with a showdown is Obama will never engage. He simply doesn't know enough about the issues - any of the issues. He knows he single-handedly got bin Laden. He memorized that one. And he knows that the republicans want to steal your entitlements, but he's not quite sure why or when.
No, this election is about racism. Pure and simple.

And the Veep that Jughead picked for his "foreign policy chops" used that valuable skill set to come up with the following suggestion on 9/11: Hey gang, whattaya say we just give Iran $250 million, no strings attached. You don't get that kind of brilliance without experience.

Pretty good tcb.
Out of order;
1. Exactly right.
3. Very, very close; it's a 102 series, nearly identical.
2. Not too close, but a good guess. Rare French made Charlin. Similar to the somewhat less rare Darne. Both have a breech block which slides to the rear rather than a hinge pin and an action that breaks like a conventional SXS.
What is the problem at Fox? I can hardly stand them any more. They spend more time running all the dem negative ads or giving every dem talking point than the libs do. I am not the biggest Huck fan, but I will never watch another show with that awful Laura Ingraham on again and he, at least, has some interesting and different topics sometimes.
Here is that Courtland Milloy column. He links to a "Obama Plan White Slavery" sign...but I don't see that sign. The link takes you to some WaPo pictures of the Kill the Bill rally on March 20th & even some from a small rally that was a few days earlier.
Picture #12 shows how big the event was on the 20th! Pretty cool for such short notice.
Picture #18 is of me at the small rally on the 16th. I was so discouraged....but then on the 20th so many more came. Jim Ryan had come on a bus on the 16th to talk to his Congressman. Michele Bachmann spoke...she was faithful about speaking to tea partiers no matter the size of the gathering.
That one-legged R is effete and not bold, but the election will be decided by thirtysomething women, so it might be a good choice. That and sending out Mr. Muscles in sleeveless shirts.
I hope the Dems get sued if they pull out the Rols Royce RR logo.
It's been a weird day. At first, when I saw the news, I though I was the pick. I was flustered and flattered. I called my mom and there was some confusion and embarrassment. Long story short, it got straightened out and I'm sincerely glad about the pick. Not sure if I can get in touch with Paul's people about a Ryan-Ryan '20 ticket right now but it's a bit early for that. Anyway, hat's off to Mitt for the pick, congrats to Paul Ryan and no offense taken at my end. My mistake.
Thanks, Janet, I almost bolted from work. Couldn't. Extremely busy. I'm working through two of my vacation days (this Monday and Tuesday).... Glad you had a good time.
After pointing out that I was born four days after Paul Ryan, I would also like to point out we have one JOMer and one JOMer's spouse who share his birthday.

If Ryan can be replaced by someone in his league on the Budget Committee, then this works. If he gets replaced by a RINO, then it's a net loss unless Ryan is an extremely active VP....
I wish that Romney (and now Ryan) would both get themselves some Summer suits and lose the heavy dark ones. I thought about sending a message to Tagg or Josh Romney on FB, but chickened out.
Sara, please tell me you don't want these guys in white suits after labor day. Because I can't follow you there. But, yeah, let's get these guys in green khaki suits and off-white linen suits pronto.
Well Newscorp's general turnaway from the Tea Party ethos, even before the phone tapping

Sara never ever wants to see men in white suits. I was thinking more of Summer weight light grey or off white to light khaki, or a very light pinstripe.
My other complaint, attire-wise, is Romney and his tie. He wears what looks to be the same one nearly every day. For a man with as many kids and grandchildren not to have more ties, seems hard to believe or do kids give their Pops something different these days. I know he doesn't like to spend any money on himself, but he really needs someone to go buy him a bunch of new ties.

If the people here are any indication, I'm probably the only one who has watched him often enough to even notice. But now that you are aware, check out the number of times he has that light blue tie on.
I just find it odd. When my Dad died, he had over 300 ties, some he inherited from my Grandfather, but many he got as Christmas gifts, and I'm an only child.
NBREAKING NEWS on Fox. Brace yourself -- Paul Ryan was voted Prom King and biggest brown noser in high school. THE scandal has been exposed. The Onion is going to have a hard time being differentiated from real news at this rate.
Sara, I was making fun of Anthony Weiner--not you--who writes his name the wrong way if he wants to pronounce it "Wee-ner." Sheesh, even Wienerschnitzel has it right.
btw you've probably seen quilts made from men's ties.
LUN
Frau: I've seen some quilts like those, but only at the Fair, where they were all being judged. My Mother-in-Law used to go to the thrift stores and buy bags of ties for 50 cents to a dollar and make woven rugs out of them.
It was funny seeing Romney tearing down the steps of that Warship like he was about to host a 1970's gameshow. Also ironic since both he and Ryan have no Military experience.
President Obama has years of Military experience under his belt, he got Bin laden for Gods sake.
Frau: I've seen some quilts like those, but only at the Fair, where they were all being judged. My Mother-in-Law used to go to the thrift stores and buy bags of ties for 50 cents to a dollar and make woven rugs out of them.
I'm about to start my epic cathedral windows......sigh.......this will test my quilting metal no end.
I have read that the reason Romney is not fighting back against the septic Soptic smear among other garbage put forward by the dipshit in the WH, is that he has not yet been officially nominated and he is out of primary $. Couldn't one of the Romney supporting Super Pacs hit the JEF on R's behalf until after the primary?
Congratulations to Mitt Romney on his choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate. President Obama has declared that this election is about “two fundamentally different visions” for America. Goodness, he’s got that right. Our country cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama’s fundamentally flawed vision. We must now look to this new team, the Romney/Ryan ticket, to provide an alternate vision of an America that is fiscally responsible, strong, and prosperous – an America that understands and is proud of her exceptional place in the world and will respect those who fight to secure that exceptionalism, which includes keeping our promises to our veterans.
When I think about the direction our country is rapidly drifting in, I can’t help but look at California as a cautionary tale. The Golden State once boasted the entrepreneurial innovation of Silicon Valley, the American creative engine of the arts, economically powerful and beautiful ...Continue Reading

I have over 150 ties. In the past 15 years I have worn three of them, including the red one with the Christmas goose on it.

NBREAKING NEWS on Fox. Brace yourself -- Paul Ryan was voted Prom King and biggest brown noser in high school. THE scandal has been exposed. The Onion is going to have a hard time being differentiated from real news at this rate.

That's been true for some time now, the Onion doesn't have any pretense of being true.

Sara, I was making fun of Anthony Weiner--not you--who writes his name the wrong way if he wants to pronounce it "Wee-ner." Sheesh, even Wienerschnitzel has it right.
btw you've probably seen quilts made from men's ties.

Easy peasy japanesy.

convention, not primary.

Meet Janna Little Ryan, Who Wants To Be America's Second Lady
Rush will love her as she once represented the Cigar Assoc. of America.
If creds are an issue, her education, experience, and family background blow both Moochelle and Hillary out of the water.

tearing down the steps of that Warship
I missed that, but if he was on the ship, those steps are called ladders. FYI.
