Paul Ryan rocks. A snippet from yesterday:

Ryan is almost lyrical in his ad libbing. It's because he understands this country and what he believes in. I am so in love.

narciso,
LOL. What a dolt. BTW, have you heard who plays Obama in the "I Killed Bin Laden With My Own Hands" movie??
In other sports news, Rory McIlroy is well on his way to winning the PGA (if Ian Poulter will allow him) and become the new Number ! in the world. Compelling golf from a young man with a big future.
/Now that I have hexed he's lucky if he finishes:)

have you heard who plays Obama in the "I Killed Bin Laden With My Own Hands" movie??
Why should the movie have to find someone else to pretend to be the President, when Obama is already pretending to be the President?
I'm pretty sure he'll be in it himself, because the imdb page says the release has been pushed back to December, and nobody else on the left would screw up the schedule badly enough to postpone it until after the election.
Obama's going to do all the dialog, in shots filmed from the neck up. Then in the action scenes they'll use his normal pair of interchangeable stunt doubles, Lawrence Taylor and Michelle.
Obama's not only starring, he declared that he's a better screenwriter than the screenwriters and added a big dramatic speech for himself. I've heard it described as "Gary Cooper's courtroom speech from 'The Fountainhead', if 'The Fountainhead' had been written by Bill Ayers and Gary Cooper had been a giant asshole".

Obama.
I think the heads of RNC and DNC are picked by the newly elected president or at least they put the names up for the vote.
The RNC has had its share of dunderheads, but she is the worst.

Since it is reported that Romney made his decision on Paul Ryan back on Aug. 1st, I was curious what Tom was posting about at JOM.
August 1st was one post on Judge Lester refusing to recuse himself and another on how Russ Douhat predicted Romney would go dull with Portman.
August 2nd was devoted to Badminton.
Posted by: Sara | August 12, 2012 at 04:46 PM
I am so glad Romney didn't go dull! We ABOers and full-fledged Romneyites would have all been okay with it. But, wowza, look at how the lines have grown at every speaking venue this weekend! Not sure boring would have pulled that off.

"I am so glad Romney didn't go dull! ...But, wowza, look at how the lines have grown at every speaking venue this weekend! Not sure boring would have pulled that off."
Palin drew crowds as well with McCain and look what happened. What's different this time?
Now I think Romney is better than McCain and Ryan is better than Palin (for what we need now), but there are a lot of idiots out there where negative ads are their main news source.

Palin drew crowds as well with McCain and look what happened. What's different this time?
Three and 3/4 years of an Obama administration! Our worst fears not only realized, but some fears we didn't know enough to have also appeared.
The Tea Party and 2010 happened half-way through, when folks really started getting the Chicago Messiah's message loud and clear. Patriots realized that they can make a difference.
Obama idol worshipers have decreased in numbers, not increased.
Posted by: centralcal | August 12, 2012 at 05:02 PM
Well the lesson, is almost never take Douthat seriously, as I proferred examples on the second page of that thread, the knives were out then for Sarah, a black swan event that
never happens in a election year, swamped the
season, and McCain took a dive.
Posted by: narciso | August 12, 2012 at 05:03 PM
"Palin drew crowds as well with McCain "
But they didn't outdraw Obama. Not close.
I think for Obama to be ousted by Paul Ryan would be one of the most sublimely condign punishments ever inflicted in American politics.

McCain was such a nightmare rushing back to solve a crisis he had no answer for, and refusing to fight back, that even Palin could not drag his sorry butt across the finish line and he still got 46%.
Aint no cause for despair now, in fact quite your bitchin' get out your wallet and support some candidates and maybe find a way to volunteer for the good guys campaigns.

Did anyone see the clip of the President at his event today? Clearly he had not slept a wink last night, and his torment was particularly apparent when he chose to steal the vocabulary of the R-R campaign (is he also afflicted with Zakariania??)to talk about the choice between two visions for the country. He was trying to adopt the lingo of a fiscal conservative and deficit hawk, and God forbid the muddle falls for that deception.

Yes, cc / dot, I agree Obama is drawing smaller crowds thanks to his performance. I was worried before nov 2010 elections, about prosser in WI and walker in recall and those turned out ok. And I do have a better gut feeling this time than with McCain. Looking forward to debates and ads.

You guys are wrong about Tiger. If he plays better than the other guys he wins. That's the way it is in golf. Forget his indiscretions and your personal opinion of him, he is a great golfer who changed the game for the guys winning today. Gary Player tried to tie fitness, nutrition and practice to winning but it didn't take with the stay up late and booze generation but not now. Today you have the most fit, athletic generation of golfers ever and watch the new generation coming up.
Tiger has done for golf what Palin did for conservatism - they made it something to achieve and be respected. McIlroy is who he is because he watched Tiger and said, I want to do that.
If you know golf like I do then you understand where I come from.

Well, they fell for it last time because he had no record. But when people hear those words "My plan calls for net spending cuts" with an overlay of how spending has shot up nearly 25%, I don't think his talk of "paying down the debt" will get him much muddle support.

Everyone is saying that no one cares about Medicare and Romney should be talking about jobs. At the far left web site I go to, entitlements are everything. They don't want jobs they want gimmes. For the first time they know that Obama stole $700 billion out of medicare, and other entitlements are threatened. (They think it must be for their own good but they can't quite figure out why.)
Yesterday they hated Romney. Today they would vote for Romney if Ryan wasn't on the ticket - I would bet a great deal that no one has ever heard of Ryan before yesterday but the Huffington post says he is "extreme".
They will all vote for Obama, but the wakening is interesting to watch.

Well, I went to HotAir and to Daily Caller since I hadn't visited since early this morning. HotAir's ad(s) were running (2 of them), but no sound.
Same at Daily Caller. However, my browser froze at D.C., which reminded me that it does it every time I go there in the last few days. Not having any problems on any other site, nor with multiple tabs active.
Posted by: centralcal | August 12, 2012 at 06:26 PM
It's the site, cc, not the browser. Surely they know the ads are intrusive, but apparently they're betting that the financials will work out even with fewer visitors. We'll see, but I hope they don't mind losing me in the meantime.

Oh for God sake. Tiger created a buzz for the sport, which some here and the MFM have fallen for hook line and sinker, but the modern era of golf didn't begin with him and it won't end with him either. He's upped the exposure of the game but other than that I'm not really sure history will regard him as being as great for the sport as you automatically are assuming.
He's a very very good golfer and one of the best of all time.

Of course I liked his positions on the economy and his takedown of Obama during the health care show, but I haven't read much on Ryan or seen any bio stuff lately. Do I have this right?
1. "A" rating from the NRA?
2. Uncompromisingly pro-life?
3. His professed most influential author is Ayn Rand, and he gives out copies of "Atlas Shrugged" to his interns?
If so, I have to hand it to Romney for making this pick. I hope he didn't do it to gain cred with conservatives in order to tack left.

Jane,
I think it is about time the country has the entitlement state put in their laps and the ramifications spelled out. Greece. Spain. Italy. Ireland. Argentina. France. The world is going broke, and Obama blithely ignores it all.
At first I was with jimmyk: Ryan would be better in the house on the budget committee. But if his selection forces the public to become aware of it, then maybe it really was a great choice.
Time will tell. The push-back will be hard and dirty.
