I don't want that guy to get a switchboard job anywhere near DC, so pick again.

NK

SomeGuy-- OK got it. I would say that 9/12 was the standard anti-terrorism statement that WH/IC have put out since Hezbo kidnapped the CIA guy in beirut and then truckbombed the USMC barracks -- BUT-- Bam left himself wiggle room to start BSing about the video -- and he did.

ljm

Obama admitted last night that he knew the day after the attack that it was an act of terror. Yet 5 days later he sent Susan Rice out to tell the American people on 5 different media venues that it was a spontaneous attack in response to a stupid video. By admitting to his next day knowledge Obama has implicated himself in the cover-up. In coordination with the campaign to reelect him - the president conspired to mislead us.

The troll asks...

"Did you honestly think we were going to allow a Mormon leader become President of the United States?"

After electing a socialist Muslim last time, yes, yes we are.

Thomas Collins

I think Crowley felt some pang of embarrassment, derwill. But now it looks as if she has been Bookered, because reports now say she is backtracking on the backtrack. See LUN (via Instapundit).

This is too good. The two main foreign policy related points being discussed the day after are (i) when did Obama acknowledge that his Administration's incompetence left US personnel vulnerable to a terrorist attack, as opposed to an attack from a "spontaneous" demonstartion, and (ii) on which track is Candy now backing.

I say Obama should leave the foreign policy debate to Joe Biden.

At campaign rally in Iowa, Pres Obama says of last night's debate: "I'm still trying to figure out how to get the hang of this thing."

Damn dude, even with the assist from the moderator?

Guess the internals really suck today.

daddy

"The debate aftermath is worse for Obama than I thought."

TC,

It is good to hear that. It is interesting being in the position of having missed the entire debate and the post debate round-ups, and trying to get a sense of the thing just from observing posters and headlines and Rush a day later. I'm encouraged by your being encouraged, and far as I can tell, everybody is focused in on his lie about knowing Benghazi was Terrorism within 24 hours. If people thought that line soared last night, it seems to me it's dead as a doornail this morning.

boris

"the SPECIFIC sentence that O is hanging his hat on, is quite obviously just a recycling of the prior day's platitude"

Yes, the "no act of terror" on 9-11-12 and "no acts of terror" on 9-12-12 are generic platitudes and two of a kind. Retroactive abduction of the platitude will not counter act the self inflicted damage from claiming for two weeks the attack was a "spontaneous" protest against religious intolerance that could not have been forseen or prevented.

Sure Obama will "get away" with it as a debate point with his base but that does not change what the statement really was ...boiler plate platitude and that's all.

Captain Hate

Did someone point out to her that if Romney goes on to win the election she won't be granted access to so much as a ribbon cutting ceremony during the next 4 to 8 years--the kiss of death to a political reporter's career?

If I were on Romney's team I'd distribute press passes very selectively.

Overturning Milliken and Rodriguez, rse, would almost complete the prog dream of having prog federal judges dictate social and economic policy in the US. It's another reason to be heartened by Romney's recent surge. If Obama won, depending on who left the SCOTUS in the next four years, Milliken and Rodriguez might be overturned.

It's not that the next two weeks they claimed it was NOT terrorism ... the T word completely disappeared altogether ... even from the official transcript.

The administration got blindsided by a terrorist attack on 9-11 and they had to deploy countermeasures to avoid accountability.

Amazing how the left says conservatives are the bigots, but they're the ones obsessing over Romney's religion.

Daddy,

Benghazi was one bookend, his reply on gas prices at the beginning was the other. I was hoping to hear a Shell/Chukchi riff from Governor Romney but I understand his unwillingness to open a front against the ecofascists.

I don't see even a quiver in the needle as a result of the debate itself. The aftermath on Benghazi will not be helpful to the President over the next two weeks.

Extraneus

I *still* say that calling it a terrorist attack isn't as good as calling it a Al Queda military attack.

It's "Well, let's face it, we'll never completely stamp out Islamic terrorism." vs. "Hey, I thought we defeated those bastards!"

Dave (in MA)

Yeah, if it was known by the regime to be an "act of terror", please explain why he had Suzie Rice pull a Full Ginsburg claiming that it was a spontaneous attack during a protest about some stupid Youtube? Romney needs to nail Bammy on this.

derwill

Heh. She probably got pushback from the Obama campaign, so now she's pissed off both camps. On top of that she was so blatant in her collusion that even a potted plant like DumbDa could see through it, so she's tanked her professional reputation as well. Sometimes it really does suck to be both a liberal and stupid (but then, except for rare instances, the latter is a qualification for being the former.)

jimmyk

I think Crowley felt some pang of embarrassment

I see no evidence of a conscience, so I'm going to stick with my view that it suddenly dawned on her that it might look even worse for Barry to have called it terrorism on 9/12 and then gone off to Vegas etc., versus having "misspoken" at the debate, and decided to give him some cover if he wanted it. If she's getting Bookered, then Barry appears to have made his bed and now will have to "lie" in it (pun intended).

matt

tanking one's reputation as a reporter just means that she will get the same salary on MSDNC instead.

Did anyone catch Chris Matthews' orgasm last night? Did he have a cigarette after the debate with Andy?

C.R.

I fear for Jeremy Epstein's (1st questioner last night) chances of finding a good job out of college in two years with his degree in "exercise science".

rse

Yes TC. Negate the Constitution through policy dictates.

It is one thing though to suspect they would like to overrule and another to read such regular complaining about those holdings and what an impediment they are to the vision.

I am so tired of political visions that amount to telling supposedly free and sovereign people what they must do and what they may not do. All from overlords living at our expense without any sign of wisdom.

derwill

"Then I was speaking with President Obama asking how his Chicago Bulls are gonna do, because they lost their MVP Derek Rose, and he said that I could not beat him in one-on-one, but I disagree with that."

Bolton: Obama misdirection.

Fine job by Megyn laying out in select video clips Obama mouthing the "It was the Video" lie on the View, etc.

Rick, Thanks for pointing that out.

Reminds me of this comment I posted just 2 days back, highlighting Dem Senator Begich hammering the Administration for closing out Drilling on Federal lands.

Wall Street Journal: Obama's Great Alaska Shutout

"...the Interior Department's little-noticed August decision to close off from drilling nearly half of the 23.5 million acre National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska."

" In an August 22 letter to Mr. Salazar, the entire Alaska delegation in Congress—Senators Mark Begich and Lisa Murkowski and Representative Don Young—call it "the largest wholesale land withdrawal and blocking of access to an energy resource by the federal government in decades." This decision, they add, "will cause serious harm to the economy and energy security of the United States, as well as to the state of Alaska." Mr. Begich is a Democrat."

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

Barry pulled the classic Narcissist's move by overreacting to a small problem and making it big.
He's spun this "AQ is defeated" narrative incessantly which very few actually believed. There were constant reports of them all over the mideast and africa.
If he had just admitted the truth about Benghazi most people would have figured that AQ got in a shot and hurt us, but that was to be expected.
Instead, because he thinks, or hopes, others believe his own hype he's terrified this attack will shred this edifice he's constructed, which no one believes anyway, and so concocts a stupid, unsustainable lie when the truth would have served him better.

derwill

Well, in the photos of him the kid looks very tall, so I suspect that's what Bam was implying. Sheesh. The kid's worried about getting a job and Bam's response is to tell him he could kick the poor guy's ass in a game of horse.

Anyone got a transcript of his speech in front of the caskets vis a vis what he said about the attacks? Does it support or undermine his case that it was terrorism or did he blame the video then? ISTR that he blamed the spontaneous attacks and that Hillary was not looking like a happy camper and didn't quite go where he did as far as the blame game...

I only mention this because he specifically tried to tie his outrage to his being in front of these dead americans and how dare you politicize it eleventy in the debate last night.

He wrapped his outrage in the flag draped coffins, but I just noticed (listening to it again on Kelly's show) that he didn't reference THAT speech in support of his calling it terror attacks but only to hide in the imagery of the 'flag draped coffins' and appeal to sympathy.

The way he started his outrage vent was like he was gonna do a list of times he called it a terror attack and got to this one and came up out of that nose dive. I just wonder why he didn't tie that event to his 'we called it terror' from day one claims...

It would be a tremendous visual push back of him claiming terrorism in front of those flag draped coffins... if he could use it, but I don't think he can if the reportage I have seen of Hill's remarks are any indication... and it would be even more devastating if he was blaming the videos in front of those coffins he tried to cloak his outrage in.

Detroit Free Press in their photo-included coverage of the Andrews ceremony:

Clinton also attributed attacks on U.S. diplomatic offices in Libya and other Middle East nations to an anti-Islam video "that we had nothing to do with." Clinton said, "it is hard for the American people to make sense of that because it is senseless and it is totally unacceptable."

Obama first foray into the intelligence arena was the reopening of cases against the CIA waterboarders. Then he went to Cairo and apologized for being American. Then he changed the name of the Global War on Terror into something but you have to read the fine print to see what it is now called. Then he wanted to try Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in civil court a mile from Ground Zero. Then he threatened to close Gitmo until he didn't. Then he began a program of carpet bombing Pakistan with drone attacks, violating that country's national sovereignty. Then he engaged in an illegal war in Libya. He puts Nixon to shame.

Stephanie- "learn and teach" is a term of art. He does not use the term Common Core but substitutes the standards for learning and teaching. It goes back to the Chicago Annenberg challenge but basically it's the confirmation he knows what ed policy he has in mind. It is the "learner centered" change the values, attitudes, and beliefs of students and keep facts to a minimum. It is fascinating how consistent he is with that term of art phraseology.

The idea under the model is that the teachers are co-learners as well. In fact the classroom is to be a community of learners just dialoguing about the world's and the community's problems and getting to know each other's different cultures.
