The NY Post provides a classic tale from the not-so-mean streets of NYC:
The privileged daughter of a prominent city doctor, and her boyfriend — a Harvard grad and Occupy Wall Street activist — have been busted for allegedly having a cache of weapons and a bombmaking explosive in their Greenwich Village apartment.
Morgan Gliedman — who is nine-months pregnant — and her baby daddy, Aaron Greene, 31, also had instructions on making bombs, including a stack of papers with a cover sheet titled, “The Terrorist Encyclopedia,’’ sources told The Post yesterday.
People who know Greene say his political views are “extreme,” the sources said.
His views are "extreme"? Does anyone out there care to bet his views are extremely conservative? I don't see any hands...
Cops found the stash in the couple’s West Ninth Street home Saturday when they went there to look for Gliedman, 27, who was wanted for alleged credit-card theft.
A detective discovered a plastic container with seven grams of a white chemical powder called HMTD, which is so powerful, cops evacuated several nearby buildings.
Police also found a flare launcher, which is a commercial replica of a grenade launcher; a modified 12 gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun; ammo; and nine high-capacity rifle magazines, the sources said.
Cops also allegedly uncovered papers about creating homemade booby traps, improvised submachine guns, and various handwritten notebooks containing chemical formulas.
Hmm, high capacity rifle magazines but no rifle. Que pasa?
Since this is New York City I can predict the lessons Mayor Bloomberg and the NY Times will take from this:
1. We need stricter gun laws.
2. Darn that violent, deranged Tea Party and those angry white men.
3. Drat that crazy NRA.
Other libs will also bemoan evil 1 percenters such as these.
Gliedman, who grew up on Park Avenue, graduated from Dalton in 2002. Her dad, Dr. Paul Gliedman, is director of radiation oncology at Beth Israel Hospital, Brooklyn Division.
Greene is a cipher:
Greene attended Harvard as an undergraduate and did his graduate work at the university’s Kennedy School of Government.
He has five prior run-ins with the police, with the charges including, assault, and weapons possession, sources said.
The Atlantic wonders whether anyone actually used the phrase "baby daddy" in describing Greene; I am wondering about the racial disparities of crime and 'stop and frisk' in New York, and the odds of a whitebread Harvard kid having assault and weapons charges on his record. Well, the whole scenario defies the odds anyway.
Pity they didn't wind up the way Ayers' girlfriend did. Save us the expense of a trial.

I'd say it's a safe bet that the spoiled girl's Dad, not the spoiled girl or her OWS babydaddy, are paying the rent on the apartment. Dad is also (most likely unknowlingly) funding the explosives and weapons procurement through allowances for his precious daughter.

A Washington Times story on David Gregory's legal Jeopardy, says that:
1) He held up the illegal clip on Sunday, and
2) On the following Friday (5 days later) a Police spokes-guy said the investigation was still “ongoing.
Not being a professional Gumshoe, I would think this investigation should have taken about 3 minutes.
DC Cop: "Hello, David Gregory, your video and your words show that you knowingly brandished a currently illegal gun clip in the District of Columbia on Sunday, the 23rd of December, 2012.
Did you knowingly brandish a currently illegal gun clip in the District, on Sunday, the 23rd of December, 2012, Yes or No?"
Gregory: "Uhhh."
Would any JOMer's who have been cops please explain what might likely take a weeks worth of ongoing investigation.
This now 8 day long investigation by the DC cops to get at something as obvious as the nose on one's face is exactly the sort of thing that causes average, common sense citizens to lose respect for the Law. I can think of no better example for why citizens should keep and bare arms for their own protection rather than relying on the police, than observing this police idiocy in inaction.
But lets be sure to move Ted Steven's trial from Girdwood, Alaska to DC to ensure legal "Fairness".
I am eager to learn what I'm missing in this case.

What you are missing is that it appears the DC cops may have given either directly or indirectly incorrect information to NBC regarding the use of the clip. Some people never see it coming. My elderly neighbor at the lake was devastated when I brought her the news that Camilla Hall, the granddaughter and daughter of Swedish Lutheran pastor friends of the neighbor lady, had just been turned into a crispy critter in the battle between the SLA and the L.A. police. "Oh, she was such a sweet little girl. This couldn't possibly have happened!" "Social Justice" has a way of metasticizing. So much for the "Progressive" old Lutheran Church in America.

NK, I believe the definition of a baby daddy is a male who screws a female and, if a baby results, does what he can do to avoid being a real father. So a gal can have, say, five children, each by a different babydaddy, none of whom wants to be a real father.

Jane, you are a member of Rotary? The Ayers/Dohrn angle of this story reminds me of a story from the Rotarian magazine a couple of years ago.My husband was a long time Rotarian in northern Maine and still attends meetings in Bangor. The New Haven,CT Rotary Club gave Chesa Boudin a Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship while he attended Yale. When I read this story,I had a meltdown.Evidently, despite his "unconventional" and "tragic" childhood he was a perfect candidate for the scholarship. Because there wasn't a more deserving student? Anyway, guess who his "adoptive" parents are? Just another in the long list of double standards.
Posted by: marlene | December 31, 2012 at 01:30 PM
Unconventional, yeah, that's it;
When Chesa Boudin was 14 months old, his parents were arrested for three murders associated with the Brinks Robbery (1981) in Rockland County, New York. His mother was sentenced to 20 years to life and his father to 75 years to life for the felony murders of two police officers and a security guard. Leaving their infant son without parents, Chesa Boudin was adopted by Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and raised as one of their three sons. His mother, Kathy Boudin, was released under parole supervision in 2003.[8]

Any doubt? 50+% of the voters and the ENTIRE LEGACY media in this country have no idea about (or are lying about) the debt bomb and what it will do when it goes off. The Dems are 'bustin' the joint out' spending what they can through debt NOW, before the bomb goes off-- when it does, they retire on their taxpayer paid pensions. As I said, the pols running this government are shits.

MelR-- the defense Cuts wil be restored along with unemployment insurance FOREVER, plus the small civilian spending sequester will be restored. Bam as much as he hates the military needs them to keep the Jihadis at bay, a Jihadi mass murder like 9/11 would be hard to cover up. No-- he'll restore their funding, and continue to co-opt the military and make them less hostile with more gay and left wing culture initiatives-- PLUS foodstamps for grunts and richer pensions for senior officers. Note the CapGains rate went up, but the treatment of what IS a cap gain is unchanged. Just more of the DC bastards making themselves important by writing complex rules that make money for tax lawyers who conmtribute to the pols. It's a scam-- always has been. Mort Zuckerman came out of his liberal coma to write something sane-- the real cliff isn't the tax rates-- it's the sovereign debt of the Federal Gov't and the soon to be broken Medicare/FICA promises.

In 2000, he was the subject of an investigation after Suzy Jagger wrote a story in The Daily Telegraph revealing that he had bought £20,000 worth of shares in the computer company Viglen soon before the Mirror 's 'City Slickers' column tipped Viglen as a good buy.[14] Morgan was found by the Press Complaints Commission to have breached the Code of Conduct on financial journalism, but kept his job. The 'City Slickers' columnists, Anil Bhoyrul and James Hipwell, were both found to have committed further breaches of the Code, and were sacked before the inquiry. In 2004, further enquiry by the Department of Trade and Industry cleared Morgan from any charges.[15] On 7 December 2005 Bhoyrul and Hipwell were convicted of conspiracy to breach the Financial Services Act. During the trial it emerged that Morgan had bought £67,000 worth of Viglen shares, emptying his bank account and investing under his wife's name too.[16]

Narc-- In addition to Morgan's estrangement from lawful stock trading, he was also a co-conspirator in an A-J propaganda lie about Royal Marines in Basra. The Mirror CEO ordered Morgan to apologize because the A-J story was obviously fabricated and Morgan had to know it was a lie or he recklessly published without any due diligence. Morgan refused-- he was sacked immediately.

On a side note; someone should look into whether MSNBC only invites on so-called Republicans who have no business being on the air trying to make a coherent argument.
Don't usually watch the channel but my God its been abysmal...I could argue 10 times better than these fools and I don
t even like politics.

Does anyone out there care to bet his views are extremely conservative?
You have to remember that progs measure the world via polar coordinates. They (and their views) are naturally at the center of the universe, and extremism - which can be only extreme conservatism - is reached not by moving far along a spectrum, but by moving any distance (and any direction) from them. Thus, the Tea Party, the Republican Party, the jackals running Iran, and anyone who holds the same positions on federal spending or gay marriage that Bill Clinton did in 1999 are all extreme conservatives. This latest fellow probably is too; I can't imagine there's much support for embarking on a murderous rampage to reach political goals. Not when Obama is about to start his second term.
