I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that this wasn't "unusual activity" for this guy. Sometimes it's just your time to go.

CH-- interms of the PR-- yes T'eo is Bosworth. Obviously, a different approach-- "The Boz" nonsense was the 'badboy' white guy-- motorcycle gear, warpaint and the mohawk, and T'eo is the ND 'goodguy' imagery. That said, T'eo does seem like a really good kid who has bought into the whole ND student experience, but he'll be NO star in the NFL. Back up LB and special teamer. I do wish him luck.

I have to agree with CH on Brent Mussberger and McCarron's girlfriend.
I half expected to see Brent wearing just a raincoat and a smirk when they put the camera on him.

Captain Hate

I think Brent was getting seriously Moellered when it became obvious that the money he surely had on ND was going tits up.

GMax

If you send Musberger to retirement you will be left with the insufferably preachy Bob Costas...

On topic and for inquiring minds, the recent edition of Vanity Fair has a story about the Kennebunk Zumba "instructor."

Captain Hate

Well they're on different networks and Costas does commentary while Brent does play by play. Teh World's Leader in Sports Entertainment Broadcasters have plenty of good play by play guys who could do a better job imo. Brad Nessler comes to mind.

They must believe that people like Brent's shtick. I have at least one friend who feels that way.

Ignatz Ratzkiwatzki

I actually like him early in his career, but maybe all those years associating with Jack Whittaker trying to make sports into some heroic, maudlin endeavor rather than a bunch of guys playing with balls that turned him from a pro into kind of a sentimental sap.

Guns: the ESPN show about the Southside ChiTown basketball star killed by .22 in 1984 was just infuriating. So much talent wasted in ChiTown and dozens of other cities by young men with guns and no brains, and their senseless deaths manipulated for self-gain by so many media and political phonies. Jesse Jackson and Rev Al were historically at the top of that list. Just infuriating.

NK

Katherine Webb@11:02-- Heh!

There is not going to be any gun control legislation signed into law. Look at Heidi Heiktcamp for how this is going to go even in the Senate. Much whining from Al Franken types to necessarily ensue...

Speaking of Creepy Weasels, David Letterman. . .

Dave(in MA), Rocco and DGS: I think a thorough investigation needs to be conducted on whether being a grindee is hazardous to your health. Let's start our inquiry. I'll take Foxy Brockton, King Arthur's, Foxy Providence, Cheaters and Club Fantasies, and the three of you can divvy up the rest.

Captain Hate

In Brent's defense, if he was Al Roker he'd be talking about how many loads he blew while staring at AJ McCarron's girl friend. TMI Al.

NK,

Billings, Montana not Wyoming.

Brent met his Waterloo back in the day when only CBS brought the NFL games. He did the pregame show and became insufferable (at least to me). CBS canned him for James Brown I believe or it could have been a transition personality. When he hosted The NFL Today show he got into a bar fight with Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder but it was later that CBS fired him.

Matt@11:28 is spot on.

Re Letterman, I had the misfortune of seeing the last 30 seconds of Charlie Rose fawning over him while channel-surfing last night. Fortunately my dinner had been digested already. Apparently Letterman had more or less admitted he'd been hooked on pain killers. Somehow that evokes a different response from Limbaugh's admission.

Oh, boy, let's see if I can go find it. We were discussing something or other @ Judy's and Max Anacker came across with a ditty about a dancer and a bear, and I hopped right into the lap of a fine bit of doggeral. I think it's in the fat thread, L!inked U!nder N!ame.

Phyllis George. I liked Irv but it was obvious he was on there for 2 reasons and one of them was that he was a former player.

Barber shop hair dancers.

Yes, about halfway down, here's manacker:

A shapely pole dancer named Claire
Discussed jobs with a large dancing bear.
"The pay here is fair",
Said Claire to the bear,
"But I cannot bear dancing bare."

To which I replied:

'Hair, hair' said the bear,
'Suffices to wear.
Take your fair share
And put some more there.'

That program was unwatchably horrible. The Greek was just embarrassing. Awful.

Have Blue

NK, On Queen St (route 10). Think it has been closed for while now.

A lot of "gentlemens clubs" are barely disguised prostitution joints these days. Found a site that rates clubs and several comments indicate that dancers at the Red Parrot were in the habit of performing more than dances in the "lap" dance area.

(Interestingly they call it the 'Dirty Bird' in the local vernacular, which was the same name the Blue Parrot in Southington was known by.)

I kind of doubt the particulars of the managers story.

NK

JimmyK-- you watched Letterman AND charlie rose? you're a braver man than I could ever be. Didn't Charlie Rose just have to pay off some staffer her drooled on in settlement of a harassment suit?

Jimmy,

That bobcat attack was in the next town over from me. Sheesh!

Jim Rhoads a/k/a vjnjagvet

How anyone watching the first half of the Alabama - ND game last night could put Notre Dame in the top 5 is seriously demented. I couldn't even watch the second half. The poor Domers didn't belong on the same field with the Tide.

Georgia (who gave Alabama all they wanted in the SEC Championship), Texas A&M (who beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and schooled Oklahoma), Clemson, LSU, Oregon, hell, even Northwestern, Nebraska or Wisconsin, would wipe the floor with ND.
