Here is an idea for some of you prolific writers, come up with a "Caveman" diet..you can only eat what you gather, nothing processed..
Congrats Charlie, having watched my wife struggle with the many diets the Doctors would put her on, then to watch her find ways not to comply, (human nature.) I can understand what you are going through.
O/T Our County Sheriff has stated that he, an he alone, has been designated to protect the Citizens of this county..He has stated that if the Government messes with the 2nd Amendment, by placing any type of restriction on it, that he, an his office will not enforce it..He further states that in order for ANY other law enforcement agency, from either State or Federal enters this County, to conduct official business, they have to have his authorization. I do not know if this is correct or not, it sounds good, an I support him..Besides he lives just a mile an half down the road..an like a good neighbor, etc.

Right now there is no way. Begich, Landrieu, or Manchin can afford to vote yes on resticting guns. That just won't happen
Interesting that Scott Brown is deciding whether he would run for senate again. What are his real chances against Markey? Markey of course regrets letting Warren get the jump on him for a senate seat.

It won't happen in my county since we just elected an ex-New York cop and lawyer to be our new sheriff. I am sure he has been brainwashed enough by Bloomie and his ilk that he is ready to do the business of the Lightbringer and his mad Consigliori, the High Sheriff of Executive Power Smilin' Joe of Scranton.

The nullification process will shift gears when a state legislature rejects Uncle Sugar's dough for education or Medicaid. Oklahoma or Kansas would be my bets for first with a "sod off Uncle Sugar" and education before Medicaid, although rejection of Medicaid accompanied by much more stringent eligibility requirements for state aid would have a faster payback.

Our County is outstanding when it comes to individual liberty's. I think that we are the only County within the State of Missouri that does not have any County Zoning..None, other then the State laws that require us to have certain officials. ..the last Zoning proposal got beat so bad (at least 4 to 1) that the County Officials have said that they will not entertain any discussion on the matter..The last primary we had a person that was running for the Judgeship of the County Commission..advocated Zoning..Came in last of a field of four..I live within 45 miles of downtown Kansas City Mo. Lot of farming, but no problems that can not be taken care of locally..

Thanks, everyone!
Barbara, I've been a Pilates advocate for years; I got off it during my interval of relative poverty when I was trying to make a living solely by writing, got back involved, and then got off it again during my mother's terminal illness, during which I spent entirely too much time in hospitals and ate entirely too many meals handed to my through the driver-side window. But my Pilates friends in Boulder are among the best in the world, and I should have quite a lot more to say.
henry, re the gout, this high-protein high-fat diet is inherently tough for gout. But I still think my blood sugar is the most important issue right now. When my weight is reasonable and my A1c is in the 5's I'll revisit that. As you say, care to keep well hydrated is important.
TK, thanks for the videos -- I did the Hindu Pushups as "judo pushups" when I was heavily involved in martial arts. I might go easy on the Hindu Squats since I've got a history of knee issues.

We've returned from an outstanding day of handgun training. The instructors were former military/law enforcement and currently train federal law enforcement. In the morning we had classroom instruction, with safety as the first priority. In the afternoon,we went to the shooting range and I'll admit,I went weak in the knees after firing my first round. It was an intense experience! I'm left-handed,but learned my right index finger is a stronger trigger finger.
The instructors didn't want to talk about politics or Biden's proposals, except to say that ammo will probably be highly taxed. They mentioned that the inventory at the pro shop was almost depleted. A very interesting day!

In other news, Seattle seems to want to shrug off the jet lag and make a game of it in Atlanta. Not surprising when you remember Atlatnta's dismal record in the playoffs. In the 4th Q and its 27-24 Atlanta after a Seattle INT and subsequent score.

Well, its game on in Atlanta. I was wrong on the score - its 27-21 Atlanta with 2:25 to go and Seattle has the ball. The Falcons just cannot kill the beast in the 4th quarter. Amazing.
Posted by: Jim Eagle | January 13, 2013 at 03:54 PM
Seattle just tied it up with 30+ seconds remaining. Now if they make the extra pt. then they lead by one. Unbelieavalbe how history can repeat itself year, after year, after year in Atlanta.

Seattle did this to the Pats this year. Pete Carroll has molded a tough team. And Russell Wilson is one hell of a pressure time QB.
Falcons have two timeouts.

As I see it, this could not happen to a better team then Seattle, I dislike Pete Carrol so much, the guy is such a crook that he can not coach in the collage level..As for Atlanta, one player, Toni Gonzales, labored for years as a Chiefs, just a great player. I do wish him good luck on the next level of the ladder, he desires it.

JIB has the team expected to win, won so far.
Posted by: Jane on Ipad | January 13, 2013 at 04:22 PM
The difference between winners and losers.
Atlanta: Today, with 30 seconds left and 2 Timeouts remaining, Atlanta took the ball from deep in their territory and moved it way on up the field for a game winning Fieldgoal.
Denver: Yesterday, with 30 seconds left and 2 Timeouts remaining, and the ball deep in their territory, Denver wimped out and decided to take a knee and run out the clock, in the hope that things would turn out good in OverTime.
Posted by: daddy | January 13, 2013 at 04:27 PM

From the Beeb: Guys With Guns in Pick-up Trucks?
Mali:
An unnamed Elysee Palace official quoted by AFP said on Sunday that French armed forces had been surprised by the fighting quality of the Islamist militants they were up against.
"What has really struck us is how up-to-date their equipment is, and the way they've been trained to use it," the official said.
"At the start, we thought they would be just a load of guys with guns driving about in their pick-ups, but the reality is that they are well-trained, well-equipped, and well-armed.
"From Libya they have got hold of a lot of up-to-date, sophisticated equipment which is much more robust and effective than we could have imagined."
Posted by: daddy | January 13, 2013 at 04:48 PM
Jane,
Well if you look at the wild card games Houston was home to Cincy and won. The Ravens were home to Colts and won. Packers at home beat the Vikings. While the Redskins lost to Seattle at home. Soe there you are 3 for 4 favorites win.
Divisional so far only the Broncos have lost at home and Atlanta and San Francisco both won their home games. Have to see with Texans and Pats. Going the way its supposed to go - most home teams win with the occasional upset on the road.
I still say its 49er's V. Pats in N'olens.
Posted by: Jim Eagle | January 13, 2013 at 04:56 PM
Cap'n, you're missing some great games.
The only thing that could entice me to watch would be a halftime show of Goodell being hung by the neck. Or Pete Carroll.
Posted by: Captain Hate | January 13, 2013 at 04:58 PM
Seattle let down their guard after that one point ahead. Sheesh!
One time we were in Mexico watching a Seahawk wild card game and it was fun to hear the play by play in Spanish.
Posted by: glasater | January 13, 2013 at 05:03 PM
CH,
You missed something better than a hanging. Pete Carroll thought he had it in the barrell and tried to freeze Matt Bryant's FG with a timeout. When Bryant still kicked it wide, Carroll tried to deny he ever called the timeout but the reply shows him telling the linesman to freeze Bryant before the snap. Now that is a cheat and he showed his true colors. His face was an image of defeat after Bryant made the FG. Believe me worth the watching.

Posted by: Captain Hate | January 13, 2013 at 05:54 PM
Could this be part of the rise of the after-birthers?
"A few weeks back we reported to you at PPS that some surprises were in the work on the Obama citizenship scandal. We reported that we expected some breaking news on the matter within weeks. The particular event that we expected did not happen, but only through a very strange and unfortunate set of circumstances. However, do not be dismayed, as it turns out the plan b for the matter may turn out to be a more powerful revelation event than the first planned one. Since it still involves some of the same major players and perhaps even more major players this time. - ( Birther Report: previous PPS report here )
We still cannot reveal the details of the plan however I can report with honesty and accuracy these two facts:
1. A potentially monumental Plan B exposure of the Obama fraud is in the works by very reliable and competent people. The plan involves people who will easily garner national attention to the matter. [...]
2. PPS has been in direct contact with the Sheriff Arpaio investigation. We have just again been assured by Lt. Mike Zullo lead investigator that the investigation and potential angles of prosecution are still going full steam ahead. Just because it's not in the news right now does not mean they are not feverishly working on the matter. There could be some big announcements in the case soon and forthcoming.
Remember, Richard Nixon was in his second term when he was impeached and removed from office. This is not over with yet. [...]
