Drawn from the "Economists Do It With Models" genre and inspired by Obama's Second Inaugural, I propose:
Liberals Do It With Government Assistance
Hmm - that's putting the 'Big' in 'Big Government'. Yeah, I'll be here all week. But the week is nearly over...
Yeah, like that business with that 47% on an open mike, and saying 'millionaires should pay their fair share,' for a Rhodes Scholar, he does have a habit of settling on the wrong target,

A recap..."
Jindal says: "the GOP doesn't need to change its values but 'might need to change just about everything else we are doing.'"
I say: "There is no need to leave a party that is ready to leave itself."
This cannot be read as an exhortation to leave the GOP.
Whst did you thing Jindal meant by changing everything except the values?

"This cannot be read as an exhortation to leave the GOP."
I don't attribute such an exhortation to Jindal, I attribute it to you.. I have understood you to be exhorting everyone here to do precisely that for the past six weeks or so. Didn't you literally sign your name with just such an exhortation for quite some time? Didn't you post messages containing such exhortations?
Have you left the GOP?
Do you want others to do so?

To think Jindal has offered a "change everything" plan that would make me reconsider and that this would not please you has me confused.

My older sister married a fellow whose family had a Chrysler dealership in the Yakima valley so I grew up around cars and racing and all of that.
One time the business got a lemon yellow Jag convertible in on a trade so my sis took me out for a ride in it. I was just learning how to drive and she taught me how to shift gears and remember learning how to double clutch that twelve cylinder engine.
Funny how experiences like that can stay in one's memory.

Another Witchhunt: Emails show FBI investigating Sen. Bob Menendez for sleeping with underage Dominican prostitutes
C'mon, give the Democratic Senator a break. How the heck was he s'posed to know that the Dominican prostitutes he was banging on "non-authorized campaign trips" were underage? Sheesh.

matt-yes I was referring to the Whittaker Chambers book. I need the onsights on what drives to be good at catching the underlying theory whatever it is calling itself. Then I validate elsewhere. Usually overseas where schemers are far more graphic.
ch-I have numerous friends who bought into that social construction garbage until they had children. Especially the ones who had boys. Then they marvelled at what could only be hard wired.
The dangers are the idealogues who never have children or have one who is a girl and never get that dynamic of what are clearly innate differences not tied to the environment. I taught all three kids to read but Red, the middle, fought tooth and nail to read words as a whole instead of phonetically. Her brain wanted to work differently with print.

Now, there's a bit of a flag there, since it comes through CREW, 'you may know them through previous
episodes' like the Mark Foley incident, shame though, that might give Christie an opening to appoint a replacement, which I'm not sanguine about.

The U.S. military reportedly ordered soldiers to remove a cross and a steeple from atop a chapel and to board up cross-shaped windows at a remote American forward operating base in Afghanistan.
A link to Dot's post.
a bit more from the article -
It's a good thing we've got atheists protecting islamist's sensibilities. Actually, it seems like it's always the atheists complaining, not the islamists. No matter. We're done.
a thought from the past - "In a more culturally confident age, the British in India were faced with the practice of "suttee" - the tradition of burning widows on the funeral pyres of their husbands. Gen. Sir Charles Napier was impeccably multicultural:
"You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: When men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks, and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."
Mark Steyn quoting Gen. Napier
Justin Griffith woulda probably had our guys hauling wood for the pyre...wouldn't want to upset their belief system & show disrespect.

anecdotal - When my husband & I went down to a tattoo on the Mall by the Wash. Monument, the groups seated around the event were almost all church school groups from around the country. There was no NARAL group or GLSEN group or atheist group.
My church regularly has a military night for the high schoolers....In fact, a retired SEAL is gonna be our new youth minister.
With an all volunteer military...exactly who is gonna join if Christians are given a hard time?
Are there enough atheists & gays to field a powerful fighting force?
Ace had a good old post on that question. His post was about gays, but it is true for the militant atheists too. "If Gleen Grenwald and other humane, compassionate, forward-thinking liberals announce their intention to sign up in great enough numbers to offset the losses among the current cohort of recruits, fine, we can dispense with the issue of how this policy affects the military's actual purpose -- to fight and win wars."

The very last way to gain acceptance is to demand special privileges. The very last way to promote acceptance is to grant special privileges.
It's pretty clear that the goal is not acceptance.
