Part of the Obama Administration legal rationale for assassinating Americans has been leaked, to bipartisan criticism.

Charles Krauthammer once said “Hypocrisy is the homage that vice pays to virtue.”
I think that quote seems particularly fitting to the lack of Democrat outrage over the drone killing of Americans.
Best line of the day might be from Ignatz at 4:31 P.M.:
“Let's not be Dems. Killing bad guys is good even if a jerk is doing it and doing it for the wrong reasons.”

I would love an impeachment trial ala Clinton for the second term festivities
So would I Maryrose but perhaps we should wait until after 2014 to let loose the dogs of war :-)

Mark Levin was praising Bill Kristol for calling out Rove's dumbass plan by pointing out how the Tea Party is the only reason there's a Repub House majority as the country club candidates that Rove and Law's one room braintrust have backed have lost.

I watched the Special Report panel segment at work yesterday and Kristol was en fuego and correct in his statements.
Later, at home, up pops Karl Rove on Hannity with his whiteboard - all huffy, puffy about how much money they gave to candidates. Rove seems to be feeling the heat, as he should.

did you hear him praising the Donald? it was a first. he said that Trump's been saying exactly the right things lately and he might even start watching The Apprentice. He was particularly impressed by Trump that it is extremely boneheaded to go on national inteviews and sayt theparty is stupid -- (ok to say it privately among ourselves, but to go on national teevee and say so is stupid. It just gives the Democrats more grist for their mill.)

On the Rove issue, Rove is engaging in cherry picking. One can take any group of candidates with a sub-party affiliation (Tea Party GOPers, liberal Dems [in other words, socialists], moderate Dems [in other words, almost socialists], moderate GOPers [RINOs] and any other subgroup, and find less than stellar candidates. If Rove thinks the Tea Party is trouble for the GOP, just wait for the trouble that will ensue if the Tea Party really does go rogue and runs under a new party banner.

Interesting, Walker considering eliminating WI income tax. The article says an increase in sales tax of 8% would do it, less if more exempt items were taxed. It's all Jindal's fault, but these days who knows?

I find it ridiculous that "establishment Republicans" feel a need to "re-brand" the GOP.
The false and unfair perceptions and stereotypes that fuel this "need to re-brand" is created, shaped, molded and perpetruated by the GOP's enemies in the MFM, academia, Hollywood/entertainment and gov't bureaucracies.
No matter how much the GOP tries to rebrand itself to overcome this, these liberals and Leftists will simply continue to lie, obfuscate, hide and misrepresent the objective facts and truth about everything to advance their own agenda and world view.
Until we change the liberal dominance of these major institutions which shape public opinion, the GOP and conservatives will never win in the "court of public opinion" and are doomed to electoral failure in peaceful elections, especially with McAmnesty and immigration reform and voter fraud further skewing elections to the left.

..lefty talking points about Akin bringing down all Republican candidates,
It made me sick to watch that play out in the MFM. How come the Guam flipper doesn't bring down every Dem.? What if the MFM asked every single Dem that showed his face on TV if he/she agreed that Guam could flip over?
No interview...no matter the advertised topic could get past whether the Dem. agreed that Guam could flip over or if Hank Johnson was the stupidest man alive.
or let's do it with Menendez.
'Do you sir believe that Sen. Menendez should be able to have sex with young children in foreign countries?'
'Since protecting children has been the news topic lately...how do you feel about Sen. Menendez using children for his sexual desires?'

The story "No Thank You Karl Rove" in The New York Daily News rakes Rove over the coals but all the good points are undermined by this:
((If Tea Party public relations have suffered some since then because of a few truly terrible candidates like Christine O’Donnell, Todd Akin and Richard Mourdock, that doesn’t mean it’s time to throw out the baby with the bathwater and ignore the successes of others like Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Tim Scott and Nikki Haley.))
have any of those "truly terrible" candidates done anything illegal? would they all be solid conservative votes in Congress?
Republicans have to learn to circle the wagons. Those candidates were made pariahs by the establishmenbt because their thought is unconventional but the only reason it is unconventional is because it is out of Democrat-influenced peecee fashion.

I find it ridiculous that "establishment Republicans" feel a need to "re-brand" the GOP.
I get a blood pressure spike every time I hear the word 'rebranding' since it's the output of a cottage industry of consultants who make money by gulling a bunch of HR types in organizations that waste shareholder money by bringing them in to advance the flavor of the month like "empowerment" or "thinking outside the box" and other nonproductive crap that top men have no interest in really putting into place more than give lip service to them. Kristol was absolutely correct to call out Cantor for advancing that crap (at least in the part I watched in that extremely slow loading clip) instead of urging Boehner to get off his dead ass and start proposing some alternatives to the JEF's continual power grab even if it has no chance of passing the Senate. At least it would do the work that the voters sent them to do.

TC,
The important thing is to never mention Akin was not a Tea Party candidate nor endorsed by Palin and never, ever mention Deb Fischer's win over the Tea Party endorsed Bruning in the Nebraska primary (Palin endorsed Fischer) nor her subsequent drubbing of former Nebraska Governor and Senator Bob Kerrey in the general.
Be sure to also not mention she attended the University of Nebraska (did not complete a degree) rather than an approved oligarch indoctrination center, is a rancher rather than having engaged in an approved vampire (insurance/finance/law) profession and appears to have entered and succeeded in politics on the basis of personal effort and merit rather than the approved preference by birth advancement.
She would never, ever make a list compiled by Rove's Top Men.

Barack Obama will replace outgoing Interior Secretary Ken Salazar with Sally Jewell, the CEO of outdoor sports and clothing giant REI
REI, which sells clothing and gear for outdoor adventures
The business experience is a plus, but would you hire a CEO from a uniform manufacturer to tun the Pentagon ?
Posted by: Neo | February 06, 2013 at 10:18 AM
Depends on the alternative, Neo. I'd rather have the head of a lingerie boutique run the Pentagon if Hagel were the alternative.

Neo, that appointment doesn't send up any obvious red flags for me (although maybe it's more a function that I don't know anything about her) and I doubt that she's as bad as Salazar.

Jewell is the president and chief executive officer at the outdoors company Recreational Equipment, Inc., known as REI, which sells clothing and gear for outdoor adventures with more than 100 stores across the country. Prior to joining REI in 2000, Jewell worked in commercial banking and as an engineer for Mobil Oil Corporat

The real damage traceable to Rove is that you know he was the devil whispering in W's ear that Bush had to be compassionate and allow the Dem's to spend spend spend. From that came the Free Drugs for Geezers Act, permanent deficits, and confirmation of "It is OK to steal from our kids" rule book. Thereby removing any chance the Reps could be the Smaller Govt, Balanced Books Party.
I love so much about Bush it is just too sad that he opened the door to the destruction that followed (is following...).
