Grrrrr....,I hate King James.

matt

I got nothin for the Thunder after Ibaka nut-punched Blake Griffin earlier in the season. No class.

Sue

I like Durant. After the Mavs didn't make it I don't care except I really want King James to lose.

The Five. Is Boston the New Benghazi???

MarkO

Are there more serious injuries in the NBA now than in olden times, like 2 or 3 years ago? If so, why? Steroids?

MarkO

Apparently, I get another Threadkiller award.

Ignatz

There's nothing left to say after MarkO speaks.
Except for that.
And that.
And....

Threadkiller

I may have granted you too much power, MarkO.

Captain Hate

I really like Russell Westbrook; why can't this injury happen to Douche Wade and see if LeBron can carry a team to the title. Dammit.

I don't think the injuries are steroid related. Kobe was playing too many minutes under that idiot D'Antoni.

LOL at the Jets second round choice. They now have 4 QBs of which Tebow is probably the best

matt

I was lucky enough to see a number of games up at Pauley Pavilion with Westbrook, Love, Collison and Mbah a Moute and considered it just a step below the old Alcindor and Walton teams for the one season they were together.

These kids are twice as strong as they were back in the day and the pressure they put on their joints is incredible. The level of conditioning and the focus are incredible.

Kobe calls the shots on the Lakers, so it was on Kobe to back off on minutes. His drive is among the most incredible in the history of the game, so I am not surprised his achilles finally gave way. an achilles is one of those completely unpredictable injuries, so I hope he will be able to play again.

Chauncey had the same issue and is only now coming back. If anyone can it is Kobe.

Late night fun - The Hollies, James Brown, and a wonderful surprize :)

Iggy, With kind apologies to both of you my good buddies, but it reminds me of Mark Twain's excellent comment after an evening spent with Rudyard Kipling:

Between us, we cover all knowledge; he knows all that can be known and I know the rest.

Brian

Odd. Icky spends more time here than
he spends with his make believe wife.

Just FYI,

They cancelled some legs on my current trip, so I am heading home commercially on a Chinese Airline, and at the bottom of the E-mail generated ticket I just received I notice this verbiage:

Duration: 12 hour(s) and 30 minute(s) Non-stop
Status: Confirmed - China Southern Airlines Record Locator: XXXXXX
Meal: Dinner, Dinner, Dinner
Equipment: Airbus Industrie A380-800 Passenger
Seat: Assigned at Check-in
Distance: 7226 miles
CO2 Emissions: 2,702.52lbs/1,228.42kgs

Have I somehow missed this CO2 Emissions nonsense, and if so is this scam actually being applied in some form as a tax to the price of my tickets? Beats me.

James D.

I hate to say it, but I think TM is right about the Heat.

At least the Knicks are (barring an epic collapse) going to win their first playoff series in 13 years, so that's something.

James D.

LOL at the Jets second round choice. They now have 4 QBs of which Tebow is probably the best

Don't the people running the Jets remind you of the people running the administration?

They've got a QB who underperforms and can't do the job required of him. So, last summer, what do they do? Grossly overpay him with a massive contract extension with enough guaranteed money that it makes it impossible to trade him.

The ink is barely dry on the new contract when they trade for Tebow, which can only create controversey, since he plays the same position as the guy they just gave all the money to. Then they don't use Tebow at all, throwing away whatever fan interest or goodwill (or football talent) he might have brought to the team.

And now they draft another QB, who may be terribly overrated, and have attitude problems.

If Zero ran a football team, that's about what he'd do, isn't it? Overpay for things that are useless and don't work...

Captain Hate

And now they draft another QB, who may be terribly overrated, and have attitude problems.

He's undersized like Sanchez and played in some gimmicky offense that got thoroughly exposed by some Big 12 teams. The Tebow move was extremely dumb even by Jet standards; I've yet to see one aspect of it that made sense.

He would probably hire Butch as his offensive coordinator...

gmax

Go Spurs. If you have not caught Kawai Leonard yet, take a look. A very underrated player and no one outcoaches Pop.

Rick Ballard

daddy,

It appears the Chinese implemented a calculator to determine the precise cost of the EU proposed Dragonbreath Fees for airlines. The deteriorating world economy made implementation unfeasible - at this time.

Take a look at the "study" linked by RSE to get a glimpse of our unionized make work future. Remember - all the peasants we're proposing to import need to keep their hands busy and their union dues current.

Skoot,

The Baucus decision to let the cup pass seems to have unleashed proglodyte criticism of Ear Leader. Perhaps proglodytes should be encouraged to peruse the last chapters of Phaedo to assuage their fears of what the future holds for them?

Cecil Turner

Dunno about coordination, but the offensive part is workin' for me.

And then you will.

Of course I meant Butch Davis, what were you thinking? Is there such a thing as a repulsive coordinator?

Of course. Who else?

I love King James. That club has won 40 of its last 42 games.

OT _ on FB a friend posted that she is at a Love & Respect marriage conference. That is a great book...& my other favorite is The Proper Care & Feeding of Husbands by Laura Schlessinger.

Anyway...got to thinking that before Palin & Bachmann & others....there was the over-the-top hatred & tearing down of Schlessinger. Who else? Anita Bryant? I wasn't political then, but I can remember the stories. Boy, the left really hates certain people.

daddy-

here is link to study Rick mentioned. With John D's heirs funding. http://greenforall.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Staying-Green-and-Growing-Jobs-April-2013.pdf.pdf

I also linked to a commenter on the blog getting up to speed on Regional Equity a study that just came out with the EPA & DOT & HUD combining together to get these metropolitan areas to desilo their planning policies.

I just finished tracking this all as a back door means to make the 21st century the century of social democracy globally. Even got the acknowledgment that is what all the references to lifelong learning are about.

And you should see all the investment banks with people on the Board driving all this. Looks like all the major players but the squid working hand in hand with the Urban Institute and the major foundations.

What a Ponzi scheme except in the middle is convincing students of things that are not so so they will feel compelled to take action.

Posted by: Holly | April 27, 2013 at 11:45 AM--

Brian/Evil Anne/Holly I would like to, in all seriousness, extend you an invitation to come visit me.
I will pay your way.
After your arrival I will even drive you to the hospital myself.

Manuel Transmission

BTW, JiB, I responded to your response a few days ago, but you might have missed it.

JiB, sorry for not getting back to you yesterday. I was building a full scale 8' chunk of railroad track in my shop.

Probably know him (FIL). Where in the sand was he? Doing petro projects? Aramco or big contractor? I was in Jubail, Ras Tanura and Al-Khobar and Dharan.

He worked for Aramco, but most of the construction was conventional stuff: roads, shopping centers, airports, etc. his name was Russ Armstrong (passed away some years ago).

I just remembered the real legacy he left: he was the guy that stopped all construction for some extended time after asking the 'innocent' question -- do we position all the toilets so you face Mecca, or does your ass face Mecca? Up to that point he had only seen the ragheads using the planters in the malls as crappers.

Brian

Icky @ 1:19 pm today - Okay, but first you will blow me.

(sigh) Icky, Icky, Icky, some people would say that since you had dug yourself into a deep enough hole at 9:42 am today already, you really, really should have stopped digging.

Other than making a complete fool out of yourself and providing definitive proof that you are certifiably psychotic, what could you possibly have hoped to have accomplished with your empty threats at 9:42 an and at 1:19 pm today?

BTW, by proclaiming their solidarity with you, Jack and Rose showed that they are as slimy and as unstable as you are. But we already knew that. Like you, they aren't even rational.

Brian

Holly @ 11:45 am - ;)

Ignatz

I haven't made any threats. They're a sincere invitation.
It's easy to mouth off on the internet.
I'll set up an email account you can write to and I will give you detailed instructions on where to meet me.
Once here I will reimburse you for your traveling expenses and then you can say anything you'd like about my wife to my face.
I'm sure a guy with a mouth like yours can back up what he says and I'm sure he'd be eager to do so in person rather than through this impersonal method.
What have you got to lose?

Brian

You don't have a wife, or even a girlfriend,
you loony. So it is a moot issue, Sir Daffy.

Ignatz

Come on out and meet her or in the alternative you can prove I'm a liar.
What are you afraid of? Meeting her or saying what you like to say here without consequence, to my face?

The offer stands and is quite sincere. I look forward to you taking me up on it and not just being one of those all-talk paper internet tigers.

Captain Hate

Getting back to the OP, Kevin Durant is doing his best to carry the team in Westbrook's absence. It probably won't ultimately be enough but he is one incredible player.

Holly

@ 8:12 pm. Norman? Norman Bates, is that you?

You are so right, Brian. Itchy is around the bend.
He's not even rational. What we witnessed there
were the rantings and ravings of a real psycho.
He is soooooo creepy. He gives me the shivers.

Ignatz

Holly, even though I'm paying the fare you are invited also. I'm pretty sure the airlines will let you both ride in the same seat, especially with a note from your doctor.
But enough with all the ditzy internet chatter.
A guy as opinionated and outgoing as your friend and roommate Brian must be used to spirited first hand discussions.

I've had one JOM meetup and found it quite fun.
If your very close friend Brian is really as outgoing in person as he is when typing safely behind a monitor I think I would enjoy my second meetup a great deal more.
What do you say?

Holly

WTF? You're still here?

Why not, I suppose? You're a lonely, lecherous and dirty old man who wants somebody, anybody to talk with you.

I'm sure that your crazy remarks make perfect sense to you and to the other crazies here, but they won't make sense to any rational people.

You are soooo weird.
