Somebody bugged Sen. McConnell's campaign office and this is the best they got?
As the FBI investigates left wing plotters they ought to also investigate left-cheek butt-dialers. I'm guessing some McConnell aide sat on his not-so-smart phone and left a long, puzzling message on the wrong answering machine.
Does no one remember the life-long Democrat operatives whose "hobby" was listening in on phone calls and just so happened to overhear one of Newt Gingrich's?

One of Althouse's commenters, did refresh that memory.

If all this incident does is call attention to how loony Ashley Judd is, where's the harm?
Politics ain't beanbag.

Remember, it's Corn, the guy who invented the Plame Game--give him the Judy Miller treatment. No one deserves it more.

I remember them Rob; just your average couple with the social lives of Stasi operatives. I think they were punished about as severely as Corzine has been so far.

You read about Hildegarde Benjamin, right Captain, she was scarier then anything out of the Evil Dead series.

Clarice-
If he deserves the Judith Miller Treatment, who's the US Attorney that's going to put the screws to him and incarcerate him for his source? Hmmm?
Not happening.
The local news here ran with the tape content, not the sourcing of same. Message received, message sent. Access continues.
Tonight's China news should be rattling more cages, but it hasn't set in yet. They now run a trade deficit.

Yeah, British tabloids listening to cell phones was a big big deal. Libs having tapes of internal campaign meetings.
Chirp chirp chirp.

China story is huge and will be smothered, IMO.
G'night all!

Yeah narc; I really liked how she got more hideous as she advanced. Kind of like somebody else I can think of.

Whoa. Did Flathead max out his titanium card?

My conspiracy theory take on this is that this Mother Jones story is just a warning shot to McConnell, so that he now has to consider "What else did we talk about that would really hit the fan if it came out?"
This innocuous bit is nothing but a statement that recordings are out there, and that they will be published or leaked at whatever time the leaker chooses to leak them. The FBI will prove ineffective at uncovering the source of the recordings, and if McConnell now remembers what stuff he and his group actually said behind closed doors, he is now very vulnerable, because he must now couch his future actions and language on issues in ways that will not be exposed as hypocritical, should his closed door discussion on those issues be leaked as re-election gets closer.
Hopefully I am way, way wrong, but I will say that McConnell's visible anger and concern in responding to reporters questions about this as shown on FOX news earlier today, could jibe with my conspiracy theory.
If I'm McConnell, right now I'm heatedly going thru questioning my staff on what we discussed in that particular office both before and after the recorded conversation about Ashley Judd.

Who did they have a trade deficit with, certainly not us?
Posted by: narciso | April 09, 2013 at 11:17 PM
Probably with whomever they are buying oil from. Maybe other raw materials as well. I doubt it's consumer goods.

Just had another urge to shoot my TV.
I'm flipping past Animal Planet and the program description for a show about Madagascar says "Left untouched by man for the past 65 million years, Madagascar blah, blah, blah..."
In the same manner, the pyramid at Giza reflects surprisingly little of my design input.

'winning the future'
Initial human settlement of Madagascar occurred between 350 BCE and 550 CE by Austronesian peoples arriving on outrigger canoes from Borneo. These were joined around 1000 CE by Bantu migrants crossing the Mozambique Channel. Other groups continued to settle on Madagascar over time, each one making lasting contributions to Malagasy cultural life. The Malagasy ethnic group is often divided into eighteen or more sub-groups of which the largest are the Merina of the central highlands.

MSNBC's Chris Matthews announced and affirmed yesterday that, yes, he will blow Barack Obama.

It's the turtle's fault for marrying a slope. Who knows what kinds of secrets she's gleaming from his suitcase every night and sending back to Japan.
She could be plotting a terrorist attack.

Which came first, the McConnell taping or the media/pundit analysis of all the same stuff when the Judd for Senate trial balloon surfaced?

MSNBC's Chris Matthews announced and affirmed yesterday that, yes, he will blow Barack Obama.
I think that announcement dates circa 2008, pard. Maybe this announcement means be's back in front of the line again.
