Gus:
Preezy is deep in the process of distancing himself from all scandals raining down on his administration. He will NOT help others. Hillary, the senators who wrote letters, the higher-ups in the IRS, the 2nd in command at Justice-all are on their own. How come all these LOW LEVEL employees didn't harass libtard orgs when Bush was in office??

I'd guess it's because Bush is omniscient and omnipresent. He was, according to the left, responsible for every act of every person in the federal government at the time.

So why did we replace him with an incompetent do-nothing, know-nothing poseur?

Porchlight

There was an active campaign to prevent republicans and anti-Obama groups from donating and forming groups to help elect candidates that believe in small government.

maryrose, true, but it's potentially much bigger than that. The ProPublica story shows that IRS was sharing conservative groups' application info with opposition groups on the left.

If this extends to IRS using audits to get documents to opposition groups - as is suggested by the possible access of Romney tax documents by the Obama campaign - and if other agencies are involved (VanderSloot was audited by Labor Dept also, and DOJ coordinated with Media Matters) - then it gets to be a very very BFD.

Recusal of Attorney General

maryrose

Good point gus.
President Bush won re-election the honest upright way. Obama, afraid he would lose resorted to thuggery. Hence you have suppression, double and triple voting, and lying through his teeth about Benghazi to prevent huge turnout by his opponents. Idependents mave have voted in larger numbers after witnessing his ineffective and callous foreign relations efforts.

Gus

Porchlight. Consider this....
The Ofuktard Admin, leaks something classified to Jake Tapper on purpose. Jake Tapper runs with it. The DOJ then MUST spy on CNN and it's phones to find out who leaked to Tapper.

Munchausen by LIBTARD disease.

The Bill or Rights is not the BILL OF SUGGESTIONS.

Porchlight

EPA, porch, don't forget the EPA. They helped pile on the True the Vote founder.

Yes, thank you Rob, EPA - and they shared info on farmers and ranchers with enviro groups per that April report that Janet linked.

Shredders at full speed all over the country as we type.

Rob Crawford

The ineffective management was quite hands-on; via Ace:

The director of the Internal Revenue Service division under fire for singling out conservative groups sent a 2012 letter under her name to one such group, POLITICO has learned.

Oh, and:

Lois Lerner, the senior IRS official at the center of the decision to target tea party groups for burdensome tax scrutiny, signed paperwork granting tax-exempt status to the Barack H. Obama Foundation, a shady charity headed by the president’s half-brother that operated illegally for years.

LUN

Rob Crawford
Obama, afraid he would lose resorted to thuggery. Hence you have suppression, double and triple voting, and lying through his teeth about Benghazi to prevent huge turnout by his opponents.

And lest anyone claim Obama expected to win, remember the drone policy that was "emergency drafted" so that it would apply to a Romney administration, then shelved once the election results came in.

Porchlight

Munchausen by LIBTARD disease.

GUS, you are BRILLIANT.

maryrose

Porch:
You are so right. Leaking private information to harm a candidate{Romney} illegally is really a BFD. I say let the sunshine in and let's take a look at all these different targeted persons and find the common thread that connects them. We know what it is, but the narrative is important for LIV's and middle class voters. That this could happen to anyone of them is a possible scenario. This will not end well for those who set it in motion. Obama pleading ignorance and this stupid Steve guy still blaming 2 rogue agents is not going to fly. It's like blaming the video-maker all over again. this hopefully, people won't be that trusting in Preezy, Holder and that ilk.

Rob Crawford
Yes, thank you Rob, EPA - and they shared info on farmers and ranchers with enviro groups per that April report that Janet linked.

I had almost forgotten that.

So we have the IRS and EPA "leaking" information to political allies, and the IRS, EPA, DOJ, and DOL targeting political opponents directly.

That's certainly some ineffective management!

MarkO

Holder violates the law on recusal. Oh, I hope TK is following along today.

28 USC § 591 - Applicability of provisions of this chapter

(e) Recusal of Attorney General.—

(1) When recusal is required.—

(A) If information received under this chapter involves the Attorney General, the next most senior official in the Department of Justice who is not also recused shall perform the duties assigned under this chapter to the Attorney General.

(2) Requirements for recusal determination.— Before personally making any other determination under this chapter with respect to information received under this chapter, the Attorney General shall determine under paragraph (1)(B) whether recusal is necessary. The Attorney General shall set forth this determination in writing, identify the facts considered by the Attorney General, and set forth the reasons for the recusal. The Attorney General shall file this determination with any notification or application submitted to the division of the court under this chapter with respect to such information.

IRS targeted conservatives, despite spike in applications from labor groups

While IRS officials attributed the agency's heavy scrutiny on conservative groups to the spike in applications over the past few years, fresh reports and figures are raising questions about whether the agency knowingly applied a double standard.

A highly anticipated watchdog report, released late Tuesday by the inspector general's office, depicted an even bigger spike in applications for tax-exempt status from a type of group that includes labor organizations. Yet, according to the report, the conservative groups were the ones singled out for special treatment.

Rob Crawford

The Internal Revenue Service has identified two “rogue” employees in the agency’s Cincinnati office as being principally responsible for “overly aggressive” handling of requests by conservative groups for tax-exempt status, a congressional source told CNN.

daddy

Just for contrast to the ongoing snails pace of getting to the bottom of the scandals of IRS, AP Wiretapping, EPA, BenghaziGate, Fast and Furious, etc, thought I would mention how the Military is treated by our Top Dogs when there is a perceived problem.

Yesterday we learned that Chuck Hegal is upset after learning that a second military individual in 2 weeks (assigned to a Military billet involved with teaching why Sexual Harassment is bad), has been found to be sexually harassing people.

As a result Hegal has decided that each and every single instructor of Sexual Harassment in the Military must now undergo complete Anti- Sexual Harassment Training and recertification all over again.

After a second sex crime scandal in the military in the past week, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel ordered that all the Pentagon’s sexual assault prevention coordinators and military recruiters be retrained, re-credentialed and rescreened.

Can we just use our brains for a minute.

Every human in an anti-Sexual Harassment Billet in the Military knows that they are not supposed to engage in Sexual Harassment. Training and retraining and re-retraining are not going to make any difference. They are not going to learn anything they do not know, and even after this re-retraining, individuals will still continue to occasionally Sexual Harass and grope and rape people--- because they are F@%#ing people!

The answer to the problem is not to re-retrain everybody in the Military about this stupid program that shouldn't even exist in the first place, but instead to adequately punish people for behaviors that they have been told they should not engage in. Period. If a guy assaults a female, whether he's an instructor in this stupid program or not, simply try him and put the sunuvabitch in jail, and move on.

Having been in the Military for 20 years and seen these dumbass touchy-feely Behavioral modification programs proliferate like rabbits, can I suggest that we do away with these damned idiotic Sexual or Equal Opportunity re-retraining programs amongst our Military, and instead train our troops so that they are available to show up at places like Benghazi with rifles when Americans are under fire, instead of sitting in some damned classroom during Drill weekend, undergoing another damned lesson on un-warrented sexual attentions.

And if we are going to make every member of the Military have to undergo more of this offensive Bullshit training all over again for the umpteenth time, then why the Hell don't you immediately make every sunuvabitch at the EPA and the IRS and the DOJ immediately go thru the same damn BS training in their jobs, so that they learn all over again they ain't supposed to Wiretap or Discriminate politically or "crucify Oil companies" etc.

As long as we're going to punish every member of the Military with Hegal's sledge hammer stupidity, why not the Civilian side of the Federal Government as well.

Rob Crawford

But, daddy, without mandatory sexual harassment training, where will sexual harassment trainers find employment?!

Zampolits need work, too.

JiB,

You probably got out before we got hit with all that Sexual Harassment BS, but it came on strong in the mid 80's and by the time I bailed it was so prevalent that it was difficult in the reserves to get your troops properly trained in their actual mission billets because we kept having to go thru these completely Bull@#$% training sessions on EEOC and Sexual Harassment.

I can't think of anything that was overall more detrimental to motivated Reserve troops in creating a positive, motivational attitude, than showing up on Drill Weekend to do your mission and finding it had all been overridden by some top-down mandate from DC to go spend the whole weekend wasting time with Sexual Harassment lectures.

"The bottom line first: The IRS hasn't done nearly enough over the years to rein in the subversion of the tax law by political groups claiming a tax exemption that is not legally permitted for campaign activity. Nor has it enforced rules requiring that donors to those groups pay gift tax on their donations.

The organizations at issue are known as 501(c)4 groups (call them C4s for short) after the section of the tax code that applies to them. They're nonprofit "social welfare" organizations that by law must be devoted primarily to programs broadly serving their communities, not private groups. IRS forms reveal what the agency considers to be mainstream C4s: religious groups; cultural, educational and veterans organizations, homeowners associations, volunteer fire departments. In recent years, however, overtly political groups have been claiming C4 status, which allows them to keep their donor lists secret and to avoid paying taxes on certain income."

The towns of Dana, Enfield, Prescott and Greenwich were dis-incorporated (unincorporated?), when the Swift River Valley was flooded to create Quabbin Reservoir. 2,500 people were displaced and whole cemeteries moved to supply drinking water to Boston. I've fished both Quabbin and Wachusett Reservoirs often and know them well. Both reservoirs have very strict rules for recreational visitors and are watched closely by MDC, Environmental, local and State Police and most likely the reason these people were caught. I've actually seen the foundations of old buildings sitting on the bottom of the reservoir with my sonar (fish finder) unit. Boston isn't the only city receiving water from Quabbin, 46 communities get their water from the Quabbin-Wachusett-Sudbury Reservoir system. Great fishing too!
