Dunno about drivers licenses, but auto registrations are sold like mad. The data quality on them is what you'd expect from DMV career civil servants.

Wait till the IRS enforces Obamacare. I am certain it will be administered with a fair hand.

If troops were sent in, if there had been an attempt to rescues, if it were to appear to be anything more than a protest, then it would have confirmed the fact that Islamic Terror had attacked the US...

That makes sense to me, MarkO.

MarkO

Clarice, the week of Sept. 14. Sorry it took so long. I actually had to work.

Clarice

work? My goodness. So AFTRER she publicly birthed the video B.S. she hung around the WH--I suppose muscling everyone to stick to the script. Any one else have a better explanation?

Extraneus

I think I may have posted this already, but what the hell.

Obama administration gives wind farms a pass on eagle deaths, prosecutes oil companies

CONVERSE COUNTY, Wyo. – The Obama administration has never fined or prosecuted a wind farm for killing eagles and other protected bird species, shielding the industry from liability and helping keep the scope of the deaths secret, an Associated Press investigation has found.

More than 573,000 birds are killed by the country's wind farms each year, including 83,000 hunting birds such as hawks, falcons and eagles, according to an estimate published in March in the peer-reviewed Wildlife Society Bulletin.

Each death is federal crime, a charge that the Obama administration has used to prosecute oil companies when birds drown in their waste pits, and power companies when birds are electrocuted by their power lines. No wind energy company has been prosecuted, even those that repeatedly flout the law.

Hillary had to repeat the lie over and over at the WH to clean up her incompetence and make sure everyone was reading from the same script. I am sure Bill's team of lawyers instructed her on how to do this. Also agree with fake outrage on Hil's part in hearing after being coached by Bill on how to play it. Rand Paul speaks the truth when he calls Bammy out for his FAUX outrage wrt the Benghazi timeline and talking points.

MarkO

You've got it, Clarice. The Sunday shows were the 16th, so it is unreasonable to assume she had no part in the dissembling or that she did not coordinate with Obama. I was under the impression that she was unavailable the entire time. Was Bill there?

They lied to save the election. They declined to respond with force and let people die, to save the election.

Impeachment would be too good for Obama.

IMO, American citizens are going to regret having used many of these sites.

Cecil Turner

That makes sense to me, MarkO.

Not to me. I don't know about the SOF guys in Tripoli (nor can I find good reports of how many we're talking, there), but the aircraft in Italy would've required tanker support and probably more time than was available.

Assuming forces weren't on alert, I seriously doubt there was much that could've been done after the attack began. The main error was in preparation (or lack thereof).

Like clock work, the Race Card has now been played against the Tea Party re: the IRS Investigations, by Obama Supporter Julien Bond, who to paraphrase Soledad O'Brien, "is not a White Person."

MSNBC Reporter: Sir, Lawmakers on both side of the aisle though are coming down on what we're seeing today in the IRS apparently targeting these Tea Party groups, doing so at a time in 2010 during the mid-term elections, where we saw an uprise in the Tea Party sweeping in the Congress---is there not, shouldn't there not be the same level of outrage, certainly from the White House---I mean at the time in 2004 Congressman Charlie Rangell called the (NAACP) Audit, "Police State Tactics." So do you think that there might be a Double Standard being looked at here?

Julien Bond: “I don’t think there’s a Double Standard here at all. I think it’s entirely legitimate to look at the Tea Party. I mean, here are a group of people who are admittedly racist, who are overtly political, who tried as best they can to harm President Obama in every way they can...They are the Taliban Wing of American politics and we all ought to be a little worried about them.

MSNBC Reporter: Sir do you think that's a little harsh, calling them the Taliban Wing of American Politics?

Bond: Not at all. Not at all. The Truth may hurt, but it's the Truth.

MSNBC Reporter: Julian Bond, chairman emeritus of the NAACP, Sir, thanks for your time.

Jim Rhoads f/k/a vnjagvet

The problem with the "couldn't do anything after the attack to change the outcome defense" is that it totally ignores at least the following:

When the decision should have been made, the situation was fluid, and no one knew how long the attack was going to last or what would become of the Benghazi personnel.

Some kind of show of force was surely warranted if for nothing more than to secure the facility to prevent further damage, and to assure that as little compromising information as possible was there to fall into bad guys hands.

MarkO

Cecil, I guess I feel that the fact that the US could not do all it might want does not mean that it should do nothing. Moreover, Obama has lied about it from the start. That, alone, leads me to believe there was a reason he went to bed.

maryrose

daddy:
This is so typical. You almost have to laugh at the lenghths people will now have to go to get Obama out of this mess he has created.Of course Preezy knew about the IRS. Flashback:

A prominent anti-gay marriage group is accusing the Obama administration's IRS of leaking private tax files that listed Mitt Romney as a contributor -- documents which were later published by a group whose president is tied to the Obama campaign.

The National Organization for Marriage is on the warpath over the alleged breach. It has called for an IRS investigation and fired off a warning letter to the Human Rights Campaign, the pro-gay marriage group that first published the documents before taking them down.

Pops

So why exactly didn't DOJ go after the source of the leak rather than the AP?

Why didn't they polygraph all the people who knew in the Whitehouse? Why didn't they trace their own government phones, there employee phones?

The criminal was in the government not at the AP.

MarkO

Well, Pops, that would not be effective in chilling the press, now would it?

Our government is corrupt from top to bottom. That's been obvious to anyone paying attention, and hopefully will become obvious to a majority of Americans as they learn more about these latest scandals. But it's not just Obama, and it's not his fault.

The federal government and most state governments are hives full of corrupt (Democrat) bees, ready and willing to swarm at any time. Obama is only their current queen.

Most of our major institutions are thoroughly corrupt. Just about all universities, almost all of the press, Big Science, the biggest foundations and many of the top corporations are corrupt.

The real root causes of the rot can be debated. Personally I think Affirmative Action is one of those root causes. It obviously gave us Obama. It led to the so-called banking crisis, the Pigford settlement, and it might lead to another bald-faced liar like Elizabeth Warren someday becoming President.

Maybe it was Jacksonian Democracy and the abolition of property qualifications to vote in the early 1800s that really caused it, but we're very far from a freedom-loving merit-based society anymore.

Danube on iPad

As I understand it, the DoJ can serve the subpoena on the third parties (phone companies) without notice to the principals (reporters and the AP) if it has first exhausted all other means. I suppose that is what their claim will be, but I question whether it's true if they hadn't administered polygraphs to the handful of people who had knowledge of the operation.

I really hate these people, and I relish their squirming.

since when have we ever been so cautious in a rescue mission, cecil?

At the time there were rumors of GEN Ham having to be restrained and we never did get to the bottom of that one.The rumors of his relief of command were mistaken, but how would most officers feel when they had tools available and were told to stand down?

We found that ADM Gaouette was nowhere nearby, but Ham was CO of Africom and Libya was his. I doubt we will ever know the truth unless there is a real melee in DC.

McConnell, on the other hand, has no power, and he should be swinging for the fences. And he seems to be.

The Kentucky Republican also questioned today whether some of the blame should fall at President Obama's doorstep.

"What we don't know at this point is whether it jumped the fence from the IRS to the White House," McConnell said on the Senate floor. "But we do know this: We can't count on the administration to be forthcoming about the details of this scandal, because so far they've been anything but.

"So, this morning, I'm calling on the president to make available, completely and without restriction, everyone who can answer the questions we have as to what was going on at the IRS, who knew about it and how high it went."

Extraneus

McConnell:

On Monday, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) fired back on assertions by the IRS that its efforts to target conservative groups were relegated to low-level employees. “Of course not,” he told Breitbart News. McConnell noted that he had raised the issue of IRS targeting of conservatives in 2012, and further noted that the Washington Post “dismissed it as a bunch of red herrings.”

The scandal, McConnell said, extends up the chain. “The Obama effort to shut up opponents isn’t limited to the IRS,” he stated. “It applies to the FCC [Federal Communications Commission], SEC [Securities and Exchange Commission], FEC [Federal Elections Commission], HHS [Department of Health and Human Services] …. And you remember, the Obama campaign last year published a list of eight businessmen who it believed were enemies.”

McConnell further noted reports that the Department of Health and Human Services had been contacting businesses “skeptical about the implementation of Obamacare and asking them to contribute money to sell the program to the American people. That’s absolutely improper if not illegal. This administration will stop at nothing to get its way. It will do anything it can to silence its critics.”

At this point I don't much care about whether or not air support, or some sort of military response team, could have arrived in time to prevent loss of life. I think I've remarked that I have mixed feelings on this. I was glad that we were one of the original members although the recent dilution was bothersome to say the least, particularly because the "benefits" of adding the 2 Florida schools disappeared as both football programs went straight into the toilet. And don't get me started on Beamerball. We were forever getting jobbed by Carolina refs and I'm sure that more than the denizens of iNCeST regarded us as "yankees".

I was sorry that K was taking our leaving so unexpectedly ungraciously considering I was totally on his side when he first came into the conference and made it clear he wasn't genuflecting to the gilded schnozz of Saint Deanie. As the face of the conference I guess I can understand why he reacted the way he did. I just wish he'd have recognized the underlying reason more.

It was a dollars and cents move, plain and simple; and they decided the time was right.
