Highly recommended.

I have to say Noonan was masterful. The 95% donation rate to Democrats is a real smoking gun along with the official's wife's lobbying activity and some of the comments made.

They should fire them all and prosecute the ringleaders. In every single office involved. Nothing less than a complete housecleaning will restore any confidence in the IRS.

The WSJ also points how completely hashed our Syria policy is. The Iranians and Hezbollah are now fully engaged as are Russian advisors. It reminds me of North Vietnam, or perhaps more of the Sudan - South Sudan conflict.Obama is revealed as an utter incompetent as are the Euros.

The goal should be to kill as many of the enemy as possible so we don't have to fight them later on. These guys are posing an existential threat to Israel among other things.

OMMAG

Anguished is good .... accountable and paying just consequences would be a lot better.

Captain Hate

Hey guys, I'm back from vacation and on Eastern Daylight Time again. The closest I came to keeping up with matters, other than an occasional post, was listening to Mark Levin on my iPhone. I heard a clip from him of Bob Dole on FNS last Sunday (when I saw on the previous week's program that he'd be the featured guess my reaction was WTF); suffice it to say that if I'd have been watching it live I'd have had at least a couple comments about placing a pillow firmly over his face.

MarkO

There are times I miss Dr. Kervorkian.

Captain Hate

Stedman's anguished that his legacy isn't going to be all the great civil rights shakedowns that he's engaged in for which he's always whining to Congress that they never praise him as they concentrate more on dead people and using bureaucracies against the rights of citizens.

Captain Hate

featured guest although "guess" makes a certain amount of sense.

Captain Hate

And yes, welcome to the party Dame Peggy.

Comanche Voter

You know I don't give a flying fig whether any of these yahoos suffer remorse, or guilt, or anxiety, or post criminal act stress disorder. They did wrong. They whine about it. But they don't fix it.

jimmyk

It's Attorney General Louis Renault once again. And like his boss, I'm sure no one is more angry about it than he is.

Captain Hate

Btw, in the hearings that Congress has held, has anybody brought up this from the Iranian Rodent: “After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay. Congress won’t be a problem for us this time. No election to worry about after this is over and we have two judges ready to go.”

As the Tom Brokaws of the world assure us that these recent revelations are nothing like Watergate, can anybody recall Nixon, or anybody, making a statement like that?

bgates

maybe his new rule will be that the AG must actually read documents before approving them

He had to sign it to know what was in it, TM.

I haven't seen those threats before. Specifically who made them, and when, Captain Hate?

Capt, good to have you back.

Btw, in the hearings that Congress has held, has anybody brought up this from the Iranian Rodent:

I want her deposed. In fact I want to depose her. (Holly the Iranian Rodent is Valerie Jarrett. I'm thrilled someone else doesn't get all the shorthand.)

Holly - The Cute One. Not The Drama Queen.

Thank you. :)

Holly - The Cute One. Not The Drama Queen.

Lookie, I got a civil reply! I'm shocked - shocked, I tell you!

MarkO

On the issue of perjury, is not Holder pursuing Julian Assange as a criminal? I may not like Assange at all, but how does that fit in?

Captain Hate

Thanks Jane; good to be back although I had a great time in Santa Cruz. Just sorry I couldn't work out a way to meet up with DrJ.

In the dead tree WSJ, a reader makes the point that I've said all along; namely that the MFM doesn't deserve a shield law when the first amendment has served just fine for the rest of us when commiecrats and the likes of McRINO haven't been actively undermining it. Those clowns, with rare exceptions (sbw), have never been more than semi literate pamphleteers with not particularly well thought out axes to grind.

Porchlight

Noonan and Steyn were both great.

When they start calling Holder "embattled," we'll know the bus is revving up.

Captain Hate

Holy shit is Eldrick mailing it in Dublin, Ohio. 44 on the back 9! Highest 9 hole total as a pro.

Holly is mentally ill

Just thought I'd drop in to point out that Bri-anne-sylvia-holly-dana is mentally ill. And I'm not kidding.

Captain Hate

I dunno, Skoot; he's shown a marked inability to channel his best playing in the majors for years now. Doesn't mean that he can't do it but I don't think anybody fears him like they used to.

Again, the ability to play at the level he has after major surgeries and re-tooling his swing is fairly incredible. Not to mention his emotional woes. Even though I don't like him at all, I have to appreciate that.

JOM crack researchers - I need help.

My dad does research consulting for someone you've all heard of and he has been given the following assignment for a piece next week:

% of BLS employees who are members of federal government union

and

% of IRS employees who are members of federal government union

Ideal answer would be number of represented employees and total employees.

Need the most impeccable sources available for this info but will take anything you can find.

Thanks for any help you can give! I am scrambling this weekend and can't spend as much time on it as I'd like and my statistics librarian colleague is on vacation.

Fascinating on several levels. Funny how just when a poll comes out that Benghazi is damaging Hil badly, one of the former Clintonistas who could help her push back effectively by fingering Obama gets identified as the guy who wanted to go after a reporter by name.

Jack of the Loony Fringe!

Have not read all the posts since my last one @ 10:47 on prior thread but I have heard fom TypePad.

According to Tech Support there the JOM blog's owner has been contacted.

Yes, maryrose, by contrast, they offered Kirikaou a very sweet deal, for betraying his company associates, two and a half years, he belongs in that pit, in the last Batman film.

Jack of the Loony Fringe!

I call that report by TP doubtful at best and probably BS. TM moderating comments? Yeah, right.

gmax

Well if moderating was the answer, would not Douchebag Dana's posts never get through, since TM has publicly on al least two occasions asked Dana Ward to leave and not return?

I am coming to the conclusion Typepad has not a clue and does not know where to go to buy one ...

Jane -

I know over at You Too I have to approve the first comment by anyone. After that they are supposed to sail through. They often don't and it's a pain in the ass. If I take the approval off I get 10 comments a day from "viagra".

Typepad may have been in touch with TM, but has TM acknowledged the touching? That's the key.

I still can't figure out why I'm the only who sees that IRS Head Shulman visited the White House 157 times because he is having an affair with Michelle Obama.

The Facts:

In 2009 People Magazine told the World "American beauty: Michelle Obama named one of world's 100 best looking women

In 2010: Michelle Obama Top Fifty Most Beautiful in the World per the Hill.

In 2011: 7 Most Beautiful First Ladies Mrs. Obama is most certainly beautiful. She possesses a type of beauty that you don’t see to often. A powerful, loving, strong willed, self-assured woman. Many will look up to her---We know Michelle is insanely stylish. Even though she’s not a supermodel, she’s probably the most attractive first lady we’ve had since Jackie O.

In 2012: Michelle Obama makes the “most beautiful” woman list this year, and according to Forbes mag, she' also makes the list of "Most Powerful Women in the The World".

And in 2013: Michelle Obama Ranked 33rd Most Desirable Woman In The World, and this year she also tells us "Michelle Obama calls herself a Single Mom"

So on one hand we've got the worlds most beautiful, desirable, powerful, and lonely lady.

On the other hand, we have IRS head Brad Shulman, who has visited the White House 157 times, but can't remember a single incident or conversation he had in 156 of those visits, except the time he hunted Easter Eggs with First Lady, Michelle.

Would you people please open up your eyes?

It's all right there in front of you.

What else could possibly be the explanation for the 157 visits without a single memory he can tell the Truth about?

And if Brad Shulman has an unfortunate incident in Fort Marcy Park next week, just remember, you heard it here first.

narciso

Clearly, maryrose, TM is taking a very Vizziniesque take on those words, it is quite striking they hyperventilated over a bunch of detainees at Gitmo, but they do not blanch at
drone and missile strikes, that have killed innocent civilians, killed cooperative tribal leaders, and things of that nature,

Corn-fed conservative (southern strategy version)

That's the downside of being ignorant enough to take pride in not knowing what the oppos say and do. I don't hear much about Dronz except from Rand, and that's just showboatin' amirite?

jimmyk

If you don't see your comment right away, there's no need to submit the comment again, and the comment will appear as soon as it is approved.

Doesn't address the problem, since the comments here are more of a conversation, which is made impossible with moderation delays.

Also, I don't believe it. Has anyone ever had a comment show up hours or days later? The few I've had disappear are never seen again.

daddy in typepad hell

Seriously, what's tougher to believe?

1) I was at the White House as IRS Commissioner 157 times but I have no memory of anything I ever talked about to anyone there except for chatting about Easter Eggs with the First Lady.

2) I was at the White House 157 times banging Michelle.

And just to be a tad serious for a moment, It is indicative of honest to goodness Racism to me, that all these magazines and editors and reporters have spent years and years telling us how beautiful and glamorous and sexy and desirable and intelligent Michelle Obama is, yet not a single one of them can even conceive of anyone, anywhere wanting to have sex with her.

We just went through 6 years of this same Press laughing at Sarah Palin and joking about how every male in America wanted to have sex with her, but somehow Michelle, the most "insanely stylish and attractive First lady we've had since Jackie O'," and not a single reporter on the East or West Coasts can bring themselves to finish what comes logically at the end of that thought---Yeah, well, if she's all that amazing stuff you say she is, Would you like to have sex with her,m and why in 6 years have you never even run a single story on anyone actually wanting to have sex with her?"

Sarah Palin? Hell yes!
Michelle Obama? Are you kidding me?

It is Racism on display---all the proper PC words said right, but not a lick of honesty in any of them.

Good Morning.

Cecil Turner

Also, I don't believe it.

She (Jen) told me the same thing on May 15.

" As the legitimate comments are published, the comment filtering will take notice and learn to recognize similar comments as legitimate in the future."

Didn't work then, no reason to think it's going to work now.

henry

Re TP, the real question is why random comments end up in moderation purgatory in the first place. Without an answer, this is simply a run-around. JiB, you should point this out to your TP person so they don't simply close the incident without fixing anything.

Porchlight

Rich, thank you so much! I can't promise your name in lights but I can probably point you to the article or TV appearance where this info will end up.

jimmyk

Yes, but my point is that there is no moderation going on. As it happens, 99% of my posts appear immediately. But if one doesn't, it's gone forever. So if someone's posts are regularly getting snagged, there's no mechanism to fix it.

Captain Hate

narc & maryrose, California was great for a state that's going bankrupt. Road construction all over the place.

in re: the comments section. could the administrative functions of it been hacked by someone really bored and really malicious. starting to think maybe Tom wants to close the comments.

jimmyk

I doubt it, I suspect he just doesn't want to take the time to moderate, which is understandable.

Extraneus

I interpreted JiB's typepad message to mean that - due to some change either by TM or typepad - the comments that used to require captcha are currently stored in comment jail instead, waiting for TM to approve them; that there are probably hundreds of these that TM didn't know about, and has never approved; and that if he had, those commenters would have better luck avoiding comment jail.

The question is: Did typepad really contact him, or did they just send an email?

Global Warming Update on dwindling Arctic Caribou Herds.

Yep, It is due to "Global Warming" if by "Global Warming" you mean shooting caribou and making tons of money by selling the meat on FaceBook, and then using low cost subsidized transport to ship the meat to your customers.

Selling caribou meat online may hasten herds' decline: biologist
Hunters using Facebook to sell meat to communities where caribou is scarce

[Government biologist Mitch Campbell says some Hunter and Trappers Organizations are expressing concern.

"There's a lot of money to be made in these internet sales, and there's literally no restrictions within Nunavut,” he said.

“So it has the potential of causing huge conservation concerns on certain caribou populations, if we don't get a handle on it or get an idea of what's going on with it."

Campbell says Facebook sales of caribou meat from Southhampton Island likely helped drive the herd's numbers down a couple of years ago.

"I would say, from our calculation, it was almost the subsistence harvest doubled, because of internet sales," Campbell said.]

Here's the previous explanation: A Troubling Decline in the
Caribou Herds of the Arctic

"According to scientists, the causes of the global caribou decline are straightforward: rapidly rising Arctic temperatures are throwing caribou out of sync with the environment in which they evolved; oil and gas development, mining, logging, and hydropower projects in the Far North are impinging on the caribou’s range; and, though not a major factor, hunting is further depleting already beleaguered caribou populations."

They have their hands on all the data, and they have teams of supposed experts who ought to be able to come clean with that info and explain to us in understandable terms that make sense. That's what those employees are paid for, but that's sure not what's happening.

Instead, all we get is some sort of cock and bull story about how it was simply logjams in the system; too many inputs to an overburdened system to respond in a reasonable time as always previously occurred, and that the fault is ultimately our fault, not theirs.

Two new DEBUNKS on the FBI thread.

Bad design Daddy. Moderated comments include an unknown (but likely massive) volume of actual spam. This design is unwieldy even if TM wished to wade through it 24x7. Jen & Kymberlie are flack catchers -- they can't change the software -- their job performance measures include close rates for "trouble tickets", but like too many software firms there is no measure of "problems solved". We need to remind them that blaming TM solves nothing, they need to escalate this problem to a level where action can be taken.

Captain Hate

Porch, it's always hard to tell what anybody in Santa Cruz is thinking; they strike me as pretty much well meaning types who were probably reminded a bit too much by Romney of where they came from and have been actively denying and reflexively voted for the JEF. My S-I-L who works for Apple was somewhat irritatingly bemused at how the donks and McRINO have demonized the company.

The guy I meet up with is pretty much straight lib and we generally don't discuss politics but I got the impression that he isn't impressed with the JEF. What he will discuss at length (although not at this time) is how he has relatives in Dalmatia, whom he's visited, and has *very* strong opinions on matters in the Balkans.

I've tried to subtly work on my lib daughter by pointing out that by listening to state run radio she is betraying the principles by which I raised her as a free person. I also state that as a health care provider she's being increasingly co-opted as an agent of the state in possibly compromising the rights of people she treats (she's caught in a no-win situation in dealing with probable workers comp fraud, for example). My S-I-L told me that even though we're so far apart on so many things, that my daughter doesn't just automatically reject what I say but pays attention to it before doing whatever she does; maybe he was being diplomatic but maybe not.

Probably because of the climate, there are a *lot* of homeless people in Santa Cruz. They can't be too happy about that.

Corn-fed conservative (southern strategy version)

I'd rather be homeless in Santa Cruz than Detroit. That's gotta be the negative 'bomb'.
