The Community Organizer-in-Chief and his right-hand man spring into action on the Zimmerman case:
The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday afternoon appealed to civil rights groups and community leaders, nationally and in Sanford, for help investigating whether a federal criminal case might be brought against George Zimmerman for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, one advocate said.
The DOJ has also set up a public email address to take in tips on its civil rights investigation.
No Twitter account? No "#GetZimmerman"? Strangely old school, while tha target demo is new school.
Since the Civil Rights division of the DoJ apparently has plenty of free time, I imagine they would welcome tips on the New Black Panther non-case. And I am sure the agit-propers from the right could fill their inbox Fast, and Furiously.
As to whether this how we normally treat private citizens who have recently been acquited of a crime, well, its a New America. Well, I say that - pandering from Hillarity is not new. But something like leadership, or at least a bit of truth-telling from Mr. Peanut surely is.
Slow pokes is the new "First!"

There's plenty of room for snark about this, but I think the first thing to say is that this is evil, and it is disgraceful, and it is utterly un-American.
Posted by: James D. | July 17, 2013 at 10:02 AM
I took some time last night to inform them of a long list of the civil rights abuses that have been committed in this case. I pleaded with them to ensure that the prosecutors NEVER do any of it again.
I expect my name now has a checkmark next to it on The List.

George Zimmerman had his civil rights violated and he was the victim of a hate crime when he was profiled as gay and viciously attacked because of anti-gay sentiment.
We need to have an honest national debate about the historical pattern of intolerance within the black community towards homosexuals.

Proof that the Federal government can, and WILL, persecute you as long as it wants to.
Posted by: fdcol63 | July 17, 2013 at 10:11 AM
OK, let me first say I might be completely wrong, but I actually think this might be a brilliant idea…
I assert this based on a couple of assumptions:
DOJ knows they don’t have a case and/or they’d lose and look stupid.
The Whitehouse knows they have no further political use for this case, and that it has more potential to hurt them than help them going forward.
The very people they have gotten riled up need a place to direct their ‘riled up’ energy.
Libtards are notoriously unable to get over anything unless they can write long diatribes about how anything they deem bad truly and righteously sucks.
So, DOJ has no intention of eventually filing charges, but they are providing a venue for the sheeple to register their righteous fury and feel all better about themselves. It gives the false impression that they ‘are doing something’ while letting their target audience feel like they ‘are doing something’, all the while nobody even has to read the emails.

JamesD,
Congrats on your audio book release.
The whole regime of Obama is un-American so going after GZ is part of their MO and history.
fdcol63,
Well its either persecution or a drone strike. GZ really doesn't have many options under this regime.

Where are the polls?
Had the Zimmerman verdict been something the media agreed with, we would have been buried in polls showing vast popular approval by now.
Are all the poll taking companies on vacation?
Posted by: jwest | July 17, 2013 at 10:17 AM
jwest -- polls are no longer being pushed because Obama's job approval is negative.

TomM and RobC have an excellent idea about filling the DoJ email account with prosecutorial and DoJ abuse of GZ's rights; I will proudly get a checkmark next to my name on the DoJ database 'watchlist';
TomM also coins a fine new callsign for HildaBeast--'Hillarity', PG rating, but very snarky-- Kudos TomM;
Then TomM blows it by accusing Jimmah of 'leadership' (or a bit of truth telling). Feh-- Jimmah is the worst ex-POTUS evah-- although I'm sure he'll lose that distinction to ex-POTUS Obummer.

"Are all the poll taking companies on vacation?"
No, they're just liberally biased and in the tank for the Dems.
Posted by: fdcol63 | July 17, 2013 at 10:25 AM
Speaking of Dhimmi Carter, didn't he oversee the Egyptian elections which are now being called fraudulent?
Posted by: Captain Hate | July 17, 2013 at 10:28 AM
CaptH-- you mean the Morsi 'election' where the MB got fewer votes but Obummer/Jimmah told the Egyptian Military to call Morsi 'winnah' for 'regional stability?'
Jimmah isn't the worst ex-POTUS in history because he's an idiot, he's a malevolent idiot.
Posted by: NK | July 17, 2013 at 10:50 AM
Hard to believe they could be more fraudulent than the Venezuela ones he oversaw. In fact, I believe every one he's been involved in has been fraudulent.

If someone is registered over at Talk Left, could you ask Jeralyn if the assistant producer who booked her appearance the other day is still employed?
Also, it would be fun to know if any other networks have asked her to appear.
It must have been quite a shock for the anchor to hear her take on the trial when she's listed in the Roledex as reliably liberal.
Posted by: jwest | July 17, 2013 at 10:55 AM
Only because you aren't setting up Hotmail accounts as Alice Sharpton or Bentham Crump.
But I do note that such behavior is new!

Thanks, Jane! I've listened to it twice already - I can't help it - I love my narrator's voice. She did SUCH a great job.
And she did it without payment up front - you can get audios produced for just a split of the sales revenue, if booth parties agree.
In order for my narrator to get paid what her hourly rate would normally be, we need to sell 350 or so of the audiobooks.

Oh, someone is reading the emails all right. This is a new method of opt-in data collection, similar to [email protected]. The Obama admin is separating the allies from the targets and collecting lists for future use.

So if we're going to talk TalkLeft, then I am going to take a stroll down memory lane.

Jeralyn:
I really do appreciate the courtesy you commenters have shown me. I blog about the case all day and TalkLeft readers rarely comment. So I come here frequently to get your take.
Hmmmmm. I'm getting a picture here. You. Me. Maybe we can head back on over to your place? A nice quiet corner over on TalkLeft where we can be alone. You TalkLeft, I'll talkright and maybe we can meet in the middle? ::wink, wink::

well unless you...

As Emily Litella once said, Never Mind. I saw Sue's H&R comment and mistook it for H&C and for the life of me, as many times as I've appeared on Hannity and Colmes, could not conjure up one time either one of them came close to agreeing with me, let alone propositioning with me.
My bad.

IRS voter suppression.
Sandra Fluktard and the fake WAR on WOMEN.
"Comprehensive Immigration Reform"
Zimmerman.
This is all about keeping the BASE whipped into some sort of FRENZY.

Hysterical exchange. Jeralyn is one of the few Lefties with a decent sense of humor. Did TomM interact more with commenters back in 2007? I guess the world was a kinder and gentler place back then before Darth Barry and the ChiTown thugs took power.

DOJ got this from me yesterday:
Thank you for investigating the hate crime perpetuated on George Zimmerman by Trayvon Martin
when he jumped him and beat his head against the concrete.
Last night I heard the young woman--Rachel J, the heavyset lady who was on the phone with Martin---say that Martin profiled Zimmerman as a homosexual who was planning on raping Martin.
I apologize that I don't remember which news network I was watching, but it was on July 15th in the evening.
May have been Piers Morgan.

That pic of Sharpton at 1:58 looks like a photoshop. Either that or he's been on steroids and his head has grown. (Aside from the fact that no woman that attractive would want subject herself to that punishment, so I presume a lot of money has changed hands.)
