Free At Last: BLACK STATE SENATOR Elbert Guillory DESTROYS LIBERALS IN NEW VIDEO

Jim Eagle

We need the Autobots to take over. The Decepticons are the enemy and the State Department is "terribly misinformed" according to Optimus Prime. Plus, don't leave the planet. That is what Megatron wants.

Frederick and I are watching Transformers: The Revenger of the Fallen and it is truly a picture of today and hopefully tomorrow:)

Jane -May2014 Be there or Be Square

Apparently unemployment is up to 8.7% in one month.

centralcal

Marlene: I was able to quickly read your comment just as we were closing up shop at work and I was about to leave for home.

Now, I am at home and I have a question. I am not at all familiar with LePage and not really informed about his comment (Obama hates whites). I would really appreciate you filling me in on both.

Truthfully, just on the surface, I don't find anything false or untrue about his comment. But, I am reserving judgment till I hear from you.

narciso

It is shorthand, for Obama's method, which is critical race theory, and the subset of black liberation theology,

Yes, JiB, it's a new classic,

Neo

But now Gallup is showing a sizable 30 day jump in the unemployment rate, from 7.7% on July 21 to 8.9% today.

Threadkiller

Obama must be bored, he's killing white America.

Jim Miller

Marlene - You probably know this, but others may not: Michael Michaud ran for the chairmanship of the House Veterans committee and was beaten by a fellow from California named Filner. Filner had help from another Californian, Nancy Pelosi.

(Michaud interests me because he is one of the few working class Democrats left in Congress.)

Jane -May2014 Be there or Be Square

Have you guys seen this?

It is simply great.

Jim Eagle

I had a full ride football scholarship to GaTech but turned it down because I wanted to play and study Architecture. I will never forget the visit and the song:

"I am a rambling wreck from Georgia Tech and a Hell'va Engineer".

One great school with a history of great engineers. Go Tech.

centralcal

How fun, Jane! Let's hope, with all that passion and drama, he is NOT a looney liberal!

Threadkiller

...or worse.

marymary

Is it common to have a big "welcome Freshmen" ceremony complete with Speeches and such? My University just distributed fliers for a month alerting us to the location of that evening's Getting-to-know-you (aka lots of Beer Barrels and red cups) bash.

I love Noemie. I hope she's right:http://WASHINGTONEXAMINER.COM/this-bill-tolls-for-thee-democrats/article/2534520

Not a big Facebook fan, and use it only sparingly, but right now it is asking me for my home phone number "to help secure [my] account."

Not gonna happen.

How stupid are people who comply?

ccal @ 8:41- Lepage has reputation for "inflammatory" comments. The most recent was supposed to have been made at a private fundraiser, where anonymous sources told the media he made the Obama hates white people remark. He doesn't have a filter,he's not a typical politician and he's not going to play nice with the Democrats. The Dems and Independents are so horrified by what he says,it is comical. Lepage sent boxes of lobster meat to the 49 other governors and Gov.Hassan D-NH sent her box of lobster to a food pantry.

I gave up facebook about three months ago.

Better for my security (and anyone who was a "friend") and better for my personal time--to grab back a bit.

Most Strongly Recommend ALL delete their facebook accounts, too.

If it cannot be said here, it does not need saying.

OMG JiB, you turned down being a ramblin' wreck?
If there was one thing that could have induced me to stick out four years inside the confining walls of a university prison system it would have been to wear the yellowjacket and sing the greatest college fight song ever.

Captain Hate on an iPhone

Noemie makes a good point: Scotty Centerfold may have been a backstabbing turncoat but he kept his pledge on JEFCare and forced them to pass the trapdoor loaded abomination it is. That's better than we can expect from the usual suspects.

Then came Dodd/Frank...

You can say that again, Sandy.

Jim Miller @ 8:49-Michaud does have a good reputation for being a veteran's advocate. He worked at a paper mill in northern Maine and was a union rep in Augusta. He ran for the state legislature and Congress. He has a strong tie to the Franco-American community,as does Lepage. He votes about 90% party line and in the 2012 election cycle, had a zero rating with the NFIB.

centralcal

Seriously, all of us could be inspired by watching this. 100 Years Old today! He comes across as about 70-ish!

My God!!!!

Please, do watch everyone.

It ocurred to me, Captain, what that Paton Davies memoir reminded me, a similar one by Vali Nasr, which misapprehended the nature of the threat, but showed the administrations as clueless just the same,

I just had a funny thought,if you are in a state with a Democrat governor,I wonder what he/she did with Lepage's box of lobster? Ha!

Jane on Ipad hi there NSA

Clarice,

That was great.

narc, the stuff that was quoted in the review was just incredible in how out of touch FDR was. You can't help knowing how things subsequently shook out but any contemporary with any degree of insight must have gone wtf.

Giving up Manchuria to Stalin at Yalta provided a certain symmetry with Eastern Europe. Did he never cave on anything?

Holy Cow, CC. That guy is 100? Then his son Greg, who looks about 50, would likely be 65 or even 70? Good genes!

I know, marymary.

Don't know if I have very many, or any, of those wonderful genes.

Beasts of England

Younger daughter had her first day of college today. She got to class 45 minutes early! She was so excited...

Last Saturday she became the 9th member of the Palmerlee side of the family to go Tri-Delta at the University. All of them living; most of them there. She was also pretty darned excited about that, too.

narciso

Congrats Beasts,

rse

Beasts-you'll like this story. red is still here but has me taking her to lunch and haircuts etc.

She pipes up that she doesn't understand why parents tell their kids to "have fun at college." She said "Honestly mom, that's the last thing a typical college kid needs to hear these days."

Captain Hate on an iPhone

The worst Vietnam revisionists are the ones who claim JFK would have extricated the country with honor if Oswald hadn't interceded. That's right up there with Barnicle's claim that JFK Jr was an expert pilot.

This AP story has the most misleading headline I've seen in a while.

ACT: Third of high school grads not college ready
Fourteen paragraphs later, we come to this:

Only 26 percent of students met the benchmarks for all four sections of the ACT test.

Shouldn't the headline be "Three quarters of high school grads not college ready"?

BTW - the racial splits are in good alignment with the results of The Bell Curve. Funny how the Gaussian distribution of intelligence doesn't seem to change over time.

Captain Hate on an iPhone

Congrats Beasts.

Yes, he had the same advisors, Bundy, McNamara, Rostow, et al, what was going to change, of course Thurston Clarke, unexpectedly reveals the operating delusions of the era,

That was like that Gallup poll, the other day, that left out the 62% unpopularity about the economy, handy information to consider,

Danube on iPad

On November 22, 1963 JFK was in Dallas to give a speech presenting a ringing defense of his Vietnam policy, reaffirming the need to prevail. The first guy I can recall proclaiming that he was about to call the whole thing off was the unctuous, fawning sycophant Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr., who was so dazzled at becoming a White House insider that he abandoned all pretense of being an actual historian.

Beasts of England

Thanks, all!

rse@10:43 - Great story, and nice to hear, huh? Must be a lot more serious academics than when I was in school! I've teased her that she can't go to bed at her usual 9:30 or she'll miss all the parties!

MarkO now being monitered by the NSA on this site

There are at least two grand myths about JFK: he was against the war in Viet Nam and he fully supported MLK.

As someone who lived through the time and remembers it well, neither is remotely true.

Moreover, as the Old Professor would say, "You can look it up."

Clarice,

Have you seen anything on the "exchanges" established by Friends of BOzo to run BOzocare fraud? The article which Appalled linked this morning outlines the framework for potential fraud very clearly.

OFA "navigators" explain the toothless nature of BOzocare penalties and pitch declaring income slightly above poverty level in order to maximize the subsidy. They also steer "clients" to Friends of BOzo exchanges and quite possibly front the initial policy payment. The Friend of BOzo exchanges markup premiums way above the actual cost to reinsure, collect the government subsidy, and pocket the difference.

It's going to make Solyndra look like pocket change.

Rick, if you look up the AP style guide, subsection "Math", under "Fractions", it says:

To convert a pair of numbers into a fraction, simply divide the larger by the smaller.

So the journalist had 26, that's a 2 and a 6, 6 divided by 2 is 3 => one third.

Since so many NBA players wore "hoodies" in honor of Trayvon Martin:

How about we see if we can't get Major League Baseball to sport a day where players wear the baseball cap of the slaughtered Aussie Baseball Player's College Team, to show their solidarity against such senseless racial violence?

Why not?

I purchase my own insurance, Blue Cross has already told me I won't be keeping my current policy. Since my state exchange isn't running yet I have no idea what I will be allowed to purchase. They have some pretty catchy commercials telling me how wonderful it will be.

The UK Mail has an interesting story about archeologists having just discovered that there are miles of tunnels underneath Hadrian's Villa, apparently built so that all the goods and food etc could be brought into his palatial grounds 2,000 years back without disturbing the Emperor:

Underground city and slave tunnels are discovered beneath Emperor Hadrian's Villa in Rome

Wonder what the slaves built first, Hadrian's Wall or Hadrian's Tunnel?

This post also goes hand in hand with the institutionalized corruption that goes hand in hand with politicians and public sector bureaucrats deciding what gets bought and sold.

http://bishophill.squarespace.com/blog/2013/8/22/a-feature-not-a-bug.html

I see the same thing in ed. Conflicts of interest cultivated and then overcompensated to ensure compliance with vision. All with taxpayer money.

Clarice

Gonna check it out, Rick.

Clarice

rick, I can't seem to fine the article to which you referred. Anyone have the link to Appalled's article on Obamacare?

Account Deleted

Clarice,

Here is the article. You have to look at the BOzo Buddy exchanges in light of the Obama's relationship to the hospital/pelf factory in Chicago where Mooch "worked".

The BOzo Buddy exchanges will be set up using similar relationships with medical groups/hospitals to maximize the take from Uncle Sugar.

Clarice

Thanks, Rick, Just read DC is shelling out $48 million to a health care coordinator/provider which didn't pay its bills to the clinics that actually did the work. By what I'm sure is a coincidence, this provider was a big under the table contributor to the mayor and apparently most of the City COuncil and is under federal investigation.

rse

Executives of those same hospitals will also be serving on the community presentations selling the Common Core, Career Pathways, Transportation-Oriented Development, bike paths, and the globe is cooking and don't forget your coat. Whatever sells the political transformation.

I have written recently about education as pushing subjective well-being. Health is not to be seen as deficit-oriented but ingoing physical well-being. It means pretty much every aspect of our existence is supposed to be the government's and NGO's affairs. Pockets will be lined and relined until the Sustainability push blows up from its inherent unsustainability.

With mind arson being a lethal long-term but essential component.

Great idea, which means it won't happen. But I would hope that MLB, which has a lot of money, could get together with Lane's parents and do something tangible and useful to memorialize him.
