'W', a mere 67 years old, needs a heart stent?
(Reuters) - Former President George W. Bush underwent successful surgery at a Dallas hospital on Tuesday to place a stent in a blocked heart artery, a spokesman said.
...
Doctors discovered the blockage on Monday during Bush's annual physical exam at the Cooper Clinic in Dallas, the statement said. Doctors recommended a stent to open the blockage and he underwent surgery on Tuesday morning at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, the statement said.
They discovered it during an annual physical. Does that mean he was asymptomatic?
Bush was known as a fitness enthusiast during his two terms in the White House, from 2001 to 2009, and liked to run before knee pain led him to do more bicycling.
Yes, folks, the Stuixtnet didn't stop their bomb making efforts much, maybe this is why it was handed to Sanger on a silver platter.

"The odds of dying in a terrorist attack are a lot lower than they are of dying in a car accident, unfortunately,”
It's like a dermatologist saying, "More people die of heart disease than skin cancer [so I don't need to take my job very seriously]."
Best wishes, sbw.

The JEF has cancelled his summit meeting with Vlad previously scheduled for next month. Too bad; I was looking forward to him getting humiliated again.

"How can any person with even a semi-functional brain still support this man?"
Obama's just not that smart.

"Obummer outperformed polls by 3-5 Million votes by aggressively getting out older black voters with traditional GOTV"
NK,
Conversely, the stench from Mittbrand was so bad an insufficient number of voters were able to hold their noses for the "just one bite" necessary for his election. One might also note his decision to locate the headquarters of his GOTV in the Deep Blue Hell of Boston coupled with a pathetic lack of understanding of socialist media as lesser contributors to the final rejection of Northeastern Goldilocks politics.
The Virginia governor's race is providing some evidence of the double edged sword nature of socialist media. The Clinton/McAuliffe team struck first, trying to tie Cuccinelli to McDonnell's idiocy but the rot around McAuliffe has provided a very exploitable rebuttal. Turning 'Fast Terry' into 'Dirty Terry' is no great challenge.

Romney should simply disappear into his money. Like Scrooge McDuck diving into his coins. He came to bat and whiffed.

I'm still not sure which one, Mitt or Barry, would have been worse for the long term prospects of the country.

Best wishes, SBW.
Cotton called Obamacare "corrupt" in his announcement. Hope he keeps hitting Pryor square in the teeth with it, every day. Just like a 'Screaming Eagle' should.

Good luck and Godspeed, SBW.
Ten years ago this month I had a radical prostatectomy. The biopsy Gleason had been a six, but when they examined the gland after removal it was Gleason nine, and the cancer had escaped and gone to unknown distant sites in my body. I was told that the good news was that I would probably live ten years.
Today I am hale and hearty and plenty full of piss and gunsmoke. I am symptom-free and tumor-free. I get my PSA tested every three months, and it is rising (but gradually). I expect to be around a long time, and I'm sure you will too.
I highly recommend "Surviving Prostate Cancer" by Dr. Patrick Walsh.

That Sultan Knish post really makes me think - http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2013/08/sacrifices-of-peace.html
Israel negotiating with the "priests of peace" reminds me of so many power struggles going on now.
The Republicans cutting off some core beliefs to appease the RINOs.
Church denominations giving up core beliefs to appease the...who?...unbelieving MFM hordes?
Good compromising with evil NEVER works. The good just becomes weaker.
FTA - ""I must carry out this difficult and bloody operation, I must cut off limbs in order to save the body!"
Israel has chopped off quite a few limbs already. But there are more to be chopped off. And the question is not how many will die, how many will be thrown out of their homes, but how many can be saved. That diplomatic triage is the bloody rationale of peace.
Rabin warned that if Israel did not accept an autonomous territory, then it would be forced to accept a state. Peres warned that if Israel did not accept a state in Gaza and the West Bank, it would lose Jerusalem. Sharon warned that if Israel didn't accept the expulsion of the Jews of Gaza, it would lose everything up to the '67 borders. Olmert warned that if Israel didn't accept the partition of Jerusalem, it would lose the entire city.
Israel accepted most of these things and each of the terrible losses it sought to avert came about anyway, not naturally, but because of these prior concessions. The autonomous territory paved the way for a state. The loss of Gaza and the West Bank made Jerusalem next on the schedule."

SBW, prayers sent.
As someone who dealt with medical issues and still is, the best thing one can do is to keep their spirits up (and not by consuming extra spirits). Having loved ones close is just about the best medicine, apart from spending quiet time in meditation with God in the woods.
That or blowing a few hundred rounds downrange with the "fun toy of choice" for the day...

Anyone have a thought on what burns like the photos in the link in an arrival hall at an
airport
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2013/08/07/kenya-airport-fire/2626635/
"An Associated Press reporter on the scene saw uniformed officers line up with buckets in hand, apparently to battle the blaze."
Posted by: pagar | August 07, 2013 at 11:43 AM
I have passed through that arrivals hall at Nairobi twice but back in 2000. Can't remember the prime construction material but if it is steel, masonry and glass then not the intensity of fire you see there. Could be a jet fuel tanker crashing into the building by accident or on purpose.

Thank you all for your support. Just got home 30 minutes ago. Sore, achy, but with nice pain meds.
DoT, thanks for the background. The Walsh book should be read by everyone touched by prostate cancer. Seven days to the pathology report. Fingers crossed. But it will be what it will be and we approach it positively and with good humor.
Oh, I forgot to say that the surgeon was a jolly, positive Duke grad. Heh!
