The RNC, if it was ever interested in becoming a *real* opposition party, should hire Tammy Bruce for any dealings with Rodham. The head of the Tammy Army insistents that the HMS Pantsuit has a major alc problem and that her statement on Putin that she subsequently went into conniptions about (for actually being correct) was done somewhere outside of her "sweet spot" of between having enough to function and being completely blotto.

Stephanie VIP shhhhh its fight club

And the rain has started.

Sux that bunko is tonight as I wanted to grout the new floor in the bathroom. With all the humidity, I let the mortar cure for four days.

Home stretch now as all that's left in this phase is grout the floor, glass tile around the tub and sand and restain the cabinet boxes and make the new cabinet doors. Later this spring were gonna replace the countertops with granite and new faucets and sinks and build a linen cabinet. Gotta replenish my remodel fund for that first!

"already said that he won't do what the Searchlight Pederast (allegedly) did on the filibuster rule for judicial nominees to repeal 404Care."

I don't think it matters. Any vote to repeal, whether with 51 or 60 votes, would have to be signed by the president.

If they do it by reconciliation (condign revenge) they only need 51 anyway. But I think they still need a presidential signature.

Jane

I agree 100% with everything you said. (Especially the kicking in the crotch part for that nasty little rodent.)

I want this desperately but have real problems with the ramifications. As good as it will feel and as much as they deserve it, it's the end of our republic.

narciso

Is she just a shameless nazgul, or a pitiful wretch, I don't really care, her pitiful tenure at Foggy Bottom speaks for itself.

Beasts of England

My rant was a bit of a, er, um, rant, Jane. I think the reps can and should rule with an iron fist when their power is restored. It should be on the terms that the dems imposed and should be unflinchingly enjoyed without response to the leftist media.

As I mentioned, only years, if not decades, of this strident behavior from the reps can overcome the ad hoc governance of the left. I believe this will save our republic, not destroy it. I'm optimistic like that. ;)

Old Lurker

I stand with Beasts.

Go Viking on them or lose the war.

So many Brittany excusers, in this bunch:

NK(withnewsoftware)

This may be a topic of discussion in December 2014, if Repubs win the Senate. I'll just say this, 51 Senate Vote budget control through reconciliation gives the Repubs a lot of leverag (IF they use it). Repealing ObummerCare through reconciliation will force Obummer to veto; that will make Dems even more unpopular-- he'll veto anyway. Then the Repubs can zero out funding for Budget spending that Obummer loves, and force more vetoes for unpopular items amongst voters repubs need to recruit. Passing budgets that persuadable voters like, and focing vetoes clarifies things for voters -- Obummer will be exposed as the extremist he is. A lot of persuadable voters don't realize that-- they need to be educated. Why do you think alleged pederast harry has refused votes on so many bills pssed by the House. This is a discussion for december, God willing.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Death to all Trolls

Old Lurker

NK then you had better win the Senate replacing a RINO or two and get a leader closer to the TP than McTurtle.

Old Lurker

and ditto your 3:31.

NK(withnewsoftware)

I think Repubs and McConnell will do this. Why? It serves their professsional interests. Fiscal conservativism is where the election votes and small business $$$ are. The intellectual and tactical push will come from Senators like Lee and Johnson, and McConnell will deliver the votes from the handful of fools. You give the RINOs too much credit, they are a dwindling lot, and their patrons are Dems now, they will be extinct soon enough. THAT is my dream BTW, 2 parties, one Leftwing one Rightwing-- clarity. I think conservatives will win in that environment.

narciso

I brought up Frist and Lott, because sadly past is prologue, the Dems have already put forth the notion that the GOP will not be able to
run on an aggressive agenda, a polar opposite to the Dems in 2006.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Deliver the Trolls into the fiery pit of digital hell.

Frau Spitzmaus

kim knows the Hit Parade.

Taming is a fool's errand

Shrews are also voracious man-eaters. I hear they can consume up to three a day. That's about a thousand times their own weight.

NK(withnewsoftware)

No way to know until the premise is tested. Of course, there is always the option of Majority Leader Schumer, and that option insulates Obummer and the 2016 Dems from unpoular vetoes.

Jim

legislature? We don't need no stinking legislature.

Think how much money we could save if we just closed the capitol and sent them all home.

lyle

Put me down in BoE's column.

My worry is if the Repubs take the Senate they'll get all Marquess of Queensbury while the Dems will be sharpening their shivs and testing the heft of their brass knuckles. Effing dems will never play fair, you stupid republicans.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Eternal damnation for Trolls.

BTW-- anybody here know Gery Chico?

lyle

Think how much money we could save if we just closed the capitol and sent them all home

/Insert Team America slogan here.

Old Lurker

And Narc they have already said they would restore the 60 vote filibuster rule which indicates they gave the enemy a free goal of immense scale with no price paid at all.

Nobody with that stupidity can win for our side.

NK(withnewsoftware)

The 60 votes for appointments cloture helps a Repub Senate.. during Obummer's last 2 years of course.

Old Lurker

Not the point, NK.

A tactic is not a nuclear weapon if they can use it and not pay a huge price. That means it must stay as they changed it until a Rep President can use it to replace, say all US Atty's, and every other entrenched prog appointment we can change.

That's the nuclear option and If we do not do that they will learn nothing and neither will we.

Old Lurker

Besides if we control the Senate and the agenda, we don't need the 60 filibuster.

Taming is a fool's errand

Shrews are voracious man-eaters. They can consume up to three a day. That's like a 1000 x their own weight.

Beasts of England

As I've mentioned on more than one occasion, I'm not a Republican. Although they'll need space heaters in Hell before I ever vote for a dem again.

My strong social liberal bias prevents me from joining the rep ranks, but I'm a laissez faire social lib, i.e., let it all hang out, if you want; but don't tell me about it, nor expect me to pay for it nor to exempt you from the consequences of said hanging it all out. Whereas the dems not only want me to hear all about it, they want me to pay for it and rejoice in it. Ugh...

To that end, I'll do what I can to support the rep efforts in the mid-terms and nationals in the near future. But, I expect them to act like fiscal conservatives and let the country grow and prosper from the sound implementation of those economic policies.

Beasts of England

Walker~Beasts 2016!

NK(withnewsoftware)

50 Votes for confirmation-- to be discussed in december. But just to make my point clear, leaving it at 50 votes (so long as Obummer is POTUS) runs the risk that the 2 fools (Collins and McCain) and the self-serving crook Murkowsky agree to vote for an Obummer appointment, and depending on the arithmtic, that might be 50-51 votes. Too much leverage to give to those fools/crooks. It's in the Repubs interest to unilaterally restore 60 votes for confirmation (so long as Obummer is POTUS) This is tactics that can wait until after November.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Who is Gery Chico?

Jane

Think how much money we could save if we just closed the capitol and sent them all home

First thing I would do is pass a law that makes them all telecommute. Force them to stay in their districts seeing many of them haven't lived there in years.

Beasts, sounds like you are a libertarian - me too altho I never say that.

Old Lurker

No leverage at all if we have a Harry Reid type leader who will refuse to bring any close calls up for a vote.

It's the optics of letting them get away with what they did without a price or fear of one.

James D.

OT (yeah, I know, what a surprise), but - wish me luck. Had an interview today, think/hope it went well. Fingers crossed!

lyle
Mr. Turley said Mr. Obama was setting precedents that could be used by future presidents to delay other parts of the health care law or to suspend laws dealing with taxes, civil rights or protection of the environment.

As if. No Republican prez would try this. The Establishment R's would push over grannies in a rush to the camera to denounce him.

James D.

OL, that's true.

Here's a question: why aren't the R's taking about the failed Deyo what's his name vote? The ad writes itself:

"Harry Reid threw away a 200 year old tradition and eliminated the filibuster, just so the President could nominate a cheerleader for a cop-killing terrorist to the DoJ. Republicans will restore tradition, and we won't throw away the rules to help terrorists and their supporters."

How hard is it to say something like that?

Old Lurker

We did not tame the west until the good guys carried guns and used them.

Jim Eagle

Well if you are going to go "all Viking or Beserker" in a GOP led Senate then you will need someone like Cruz or Paul to lead. The rest of the squishes are more like McCain than they are dirty, nasty, dingy Harry Reid.

You want a warrior leader and those are the only two I have seen who be that.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Paul? Cruz?... ah no thanks.

Let's talk in December.

Bori

NK,

Gerry Chico, served as Chief of Staff for Daley in the early 90's. He then started working in the School system. He ran against Obama in 2004, finished a distant 5th in the Dem. Primary.

Cruz is 10 for 10 in my book with that list.

NK(withnewsoftware)

I'm fine with McConnell. Being Leader is completely different than providing the political ideas that need to be passed. The Leader is a personality manager and vote getter, and parliamentary tactician. McConnell's fine for that stuff. The heavy lifting legislation will be done by substantive conservatives.

US Grant. My side will win this civil war, delenda est progdom!

Frau Fragezewichen

Anyone read Henry Kissinger's take on Ukraine?

A wise U.S. policy toward Ukraine would seek a way for the two parts of the country to cooperate with each other. We should seek reconciliation, not the domination of a faction.

I thought he was an unrepentant warmonger. What would Hitch say to this?

GMax

For MM.

About that wave, its alright to be skeptic but do consider when the improbable begins to happen:

the Hawaii News Now/Star Advertiser poll found Republican Duke Aiona leading incumbent Gov. Neil Abercrombie in a head-to-head matchup 48 to 40 percent, a result that even Aiona found “surprising.”

McTurtle has this habit of speaking to TV flanked by Barasso on the left and Thune lurking on the right as they stand sullenly with their prominent jaws and McConnell reads some carefully worded and lawyered statement from his script. Last night on Fox they all wore the same suit and the same red tie.

Gaak. Does nobody look at the optics?

No passion. Not attractive. Looks like three stern white guy church elders pontificating about our sins.

In the House we get Boehner looking like a used car salesman in a spray on tan, or else we get Cantor looking like the studious Jewish version of the three wasp church elders above. You can count on Boehner breaking into tears or sounding "tough" but you know it is a lie...or else you have Cantor sounding like he knows he ticked off the base and wants to sound like he too is tough but you know he is the same as Boehner. Then they both list amnesty for illegals as our road to salvation when even WaPo reports that is a loser for Reps. I had had great hopes for Cantor but no longer. They are my team and I just don't trust any of them. Why should a non believer sign on?

Top Men. Sure.
