Let me offer premptive props to French professor Piketty, whose instant classic on Capital is all anyone can talk about.
Messr. Piketty is on the verge of a major success in helping to bring down inequality in his home country. Based on these old but not hopelessly dated stories, the wealthy French are leaving France in droves to flee higher taxes. This high-earner exodus will bring down Piketty's tax-based income figures when they are finally available in a few years, and champagne will flow freely as France celebrates its triumph over inequality (or at least over a rising trend). That is, the champagne will flow freely if there is anyone left to pick up the tab; otherwise we will be looking at table wine and tap water.
But still, congrats in advance.
TO BE FAIR, BUT NOT REALLY... Piketty does call for a global wealth tax, presumably informed by experience. But he is hazy as to whether this global tax should be collected by unicorns and enforced by dragons or vice versa, so I just can't take it seriously.
DD how many burgers will your food atamps buy at $7/lbs for beef? How far will your moped go at $5/gal regular? How many votes will your 08:55 question affect. You gotta make an effort here, don't make me ask for better trolls.

Jane-- It was worth a read. Hanson points out the second major component of the modern Left (Narciso's example of the Left's war on facts being the other) the constant hypocrisy and moral superiority which exempt them from any scrutiny or judgment. They are infantile, but dangerous, liars. BTW maybe you should give a warning, when I opened that link I saw the image of that porcine bastard Gore... very disturbing.

MissM-- Gowdy's statement makes me optimistic that there are IT types who have already leaked info, and are ready to testify if they get immunity and whistleblower status.
Posted by: NK(withnewsoftware) | May 06, 2014 at 09:41 AM
I am very impressed on how Gowdy outlines what he plans to do, including taking depositions. He says the 5-minute question period thing doesn't get much information.
He wants all evidence and to talk to all people who have first-hand knowledge.
When asked if it will be televised, says he is sure someone with a camera will show up. Says some of it will be boring, but all of it is important.

Again smart by Gowdy. The televised hearings usual have no impact, Watergate was a one off because the decent Repubs who went after Nixon's lies and abuses made it newsworthy. Since then, nothing, or they backfire on the pols like the Thomas hearings, Iran Contra or Clinton Impeachment. Gowdy should focus on a written report that nails the facts, and therefor limits the Obamaniac/HildaBeast spinning.
Posted by: NK(withnewsoftware) | May 06, 2014 at 09:47 AM
That sounds like the evidence of systematic "intent to conceal" that Gowdy was talking about.

Clownshow Continued: Rutgers Manages to Further Embarrass Themselves Following Condi Rice Debacle
ditching a former Rutgers football player in a wheel chair...
A Rutgers official asked Eric LeGrand on Saturday night to deliver the keynote speech at the university’s May 18 commencement. Less than 48 hours later, another university official called LeGrand to inform him that the school had “decided to go in another direction for political reasons.”
A blindsided LeGrand was left searching for answers on Monday night.
“I just want an explanation,” LeGrand told NJ.com in a phone interview. “I wish somebody would have given me a call tonight and explained to me why. Then I can understand, but don’t just leave me hanging.”

Greetings from the shadows of the Johnson Space Center. Attending the widely rumored 2nd BD of the heir to the rapidly diminishing MT fortunes.
We are about 60 percent done with our One (clockwise) Lap of America. Highlights, so far:
72 Ansel Adams prints done by him for his daughter. Nothing like what you see on the calendars. All nine zones there. Too bad they put glass over them. This was in Springfield OH at the Wittenberg Art Museum. Actually saw a little grain on one desert print, but it might have been flies at 20 miles out. :)
The Wescott Home done by FLW. Done between his stints in Tokyo, so has a lot of Japanese influence. Another example of a mad jeeneous who needed someone to bitchslap him occasionally.
Missed seeing Nancy S. as she was doing her thing with the Congesscritter wives, but did have lunch with Mr. Nancy. He has been thumping Boehner regularly on the Select Committee issue, so that seemed to help. Told him we had become pals with Herb M and he countered that he was standing next to Bill C when Ronnie gave the announcement about Star Wars.

from the VDH link - "The higher the taxes, the more numerous the regulations, the greater the redistribution, so all the more the elite liberal distances himself from those less cool who breathe down his neck, and the less guilty he feels about the growing divide between him and the poor he worries about, but never worries about enough to associate with."
Mother Teresa quote - "Today it is very fashionable to talk about the poor. Unfortunately, it is very unfashionable to talk WITH them."

The paralyzed Rutgers football player is well known in the NY Metro sports scene. His public personna is remarkable, always smiling, always saying he's thankful, and optimistic about his future. Obviously I have no idea what he's like in the flesh, but his reaction to being bumped is consistent with his public personna, confused and hurt, but not angry. I have a sugestion for Christie... get Rutgers to have Rice and this kid speak. That would be a great day for the graduates.

I hate to say it, but a really giant iceberg is just like an ice cube in the ocean with the same effect. They lost a big chunk of one of the Antarctic glaciers last year and so far no ill effects have been reported. But you can bet that chunk will cool the waters around it substantially until it melts. Now I'll bet no NOAA scientist has calculated that into their numbers.
Meanwhile here in drought stricken SoCal, we have a chance of rain today.
Kerry on religion today, Obama on AGW. It really is pathetic. What is more so is that they are spitting in the eye of our democratic institutions and Congress and the courts are letting them get away with it.

MarkO laid out the process for laying the foundation of the basis for the Trial of Red Witch and Gowdy is establishing his intent to act as a judge using the Napoleonic Code, loosely construed, as a guide. The Red Witch's decision to casually discard more than thirty State and CIA permanent government pawns and then shove a few more under the bus to cover up her blunders has resulted in generating sufficient antipathy to assure strong cooperation in convicting her.
The interests of the permanent government will not be furthered by another notorious coward and liar sitting in the Oval Office.

I don't go to the Players because getting their by car is the worst drive in Florida. Its on A1A which is heavily travelled anytime of the day without an additional 125K of people. Parking is an event onto itself.
BTW, TPC Sawgrass is a dog track except for the 3 weeks leading up to the Players and 3 weeks after. Maintenance is terrible and it gets beat up by all the 25 handicappers who think they are playing in the US Open and winning it shooting 130. Our two courses have the same grass and we handle all weather related issues with 1/3 of the personnel and budget.
Best watched on TV.

Petraeus to my recollection gave public testimony regarding the 'talking points', he acknowledged that CIA analysts were aware with the 'video demonstrations in the region' and authorized alluding to that in the CIA reporting to the State Dept; my recollection is also that he did not know who modified the statements at the State dept, when they decided to go with the Benghazi lie. We now know those changes came directly from Ben Rhodes at the WH.I am most interested in his classified testimony about what the CIA did. The CIA was the only group to send armed assistance to the consulate group. His people saved dozens of lives.

Great link Central!
We know we're going to hear a lot of repetitions of Martha Mcallums point here:
Martha M: she (Pelosi) wants this to be an evenly divided select committee, an even number of Democrats and Republicans.
And you know that up to that statement, there have been a lot of calls for Democrats to completely boycott this committee. And there’s going to be be very little credibility if it is full of Republicans, many would say.
And I hope we hear a lot of repetitions of Gowdy's ultimate answer:
Gowdy: ...Every committee of Congress is constituted with more Republicans than Democrats because there are more Republicans than Democrats. And i hasten to add, every committee in the Senate is constituted with more Democrats than Republicans. I mean there are consequences to elections.
