VDH on: Liberals: Exempt from Scrutiny

It's well worth the read.

OMG:

David Remnick, an Obama biographer and the editor of the New Yorker, said this morning on national TV that President Obama is disappointed in the world:

Words simply fail...

http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/obama-biographer-world-seems-disappoint-him_791045.html

NK(withnewsoftware)

Jane-- It was worth a read. Hanson points out the second major component of the modern Left (Narciso's example of the Left's war on facts being the other) the constant hypocrisy and moral superiority which exempt them from any scrutiny or judgment. They are infantile, but dangerous, liars. BTW maybe you should give a warning, when I opened that link I saw the image of that porcine bastard Gore... very disturbing.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Well, the professional white lib Dems are throwing Obummer under the bus, because he is dangerous to them now, so it's only natural for Obummer to throw the World under the bus.

Remnick looked like a pathetic beaten child in that clip. Any idea who the woman was on the set who laughed at him?

Miss Marple

Gowdy says he isn't interested in calling politicians who will parse their answers. He wants IT guys who will testify under penalty of perjury if they ran searches with certain parameters.

Janet - the districts lie fallow, while the Capitol gorges itself

Narciso - there's no Ephesians 10:10. what verse did you mean? (I usually look up the verses you post)

NK(withnewsoftware)

MissM-- Gowdy's statement makes me optimistic that there are IT types who have already leaked info, and are ready to testify if they get immunity and whistleblower status.

Miss Marple

I am very impressed on how Gowdy outlines what he plans to do, including taking depositions. He says the 5-minute question period thing doesn't get much information.

He wants all evidence and to talk to all people who have first-hand knowledge.

When asked if it will be televised, says he is sure someone with a camera will show up. Says some of it will be boring, but all of it is important.

NK(withnewsoftware)

JiB-- do you go to TPC sawgrass for the Players Champ? I was surprised to see the problem they have with 4 bermuda greens. BTW, the Beman interview wth Feherty last night fascinated me, I had no idea what he did as Tour Director back in the day.

Miss Marple

NK, I had that thought, too.

At first I wondered if he should have been telegraphing his strategy, but then I realized this is a way of telling the administration that he knows pretty much what they did.

I am going to watch for signs of panic and desperation!

Janet - the districts lie fallow, while the Capitol gorges itself

That VDH link is wonderful.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Again smart by Gowdy. The televised hearings usual have no impact, Watergate was a one off because the decent Repubs who went after Nixon's lies and abuses made it newsworthy. Since then, nothing, or they backfire on the pols like the Thomas hearings, Iran Contra or Clinton Impeachment. Gowdy should focus on a written report that nails the facts, and therefor limits the Obamaniac/HildaBeast spinning.

CR

That sounds like the evidence of systematic "intent to conceal" that Gowdy was talking about.

The Big Ten must be so glad they added this bunch:

Clownshow Continued: Rutgers Manages to Further Embarrass Themselves Following Condi Rice Debacle

ditching a former Rutgers football player in a wheel chair...

A Rutgers official asked Eric LeGrand on Saturday night to deliver the keynote speech at the university’s May 18 commencement. Less than 48 hours later, another university official called LeGrand to inform him that the school had “decided to go in another direction for political reasons.”

A blindsided LeGrand was left searching for answers on Monday night.

“I just want an explanation,” LeGrand told NJ.com in a phone interview. “I wish somebody would have given me a call tonight and explained to me why. Then I can understand, but don’t just leave me hanging.”

Greetings from the shadows of the Johnson Space Center. Attending the widely rumored 2nd BD of the heir to the rapidly diminishing MT fortunes.

We are about 60 percent done with our One (clockwise) Lap of America. Highlights, so far:

72 Ansel Adams prints done by him for his daughter. Nothing like what you see on the calendars. All nine zones there. Too bad they put glass over them. This was in Springfield OH at the Wittenberg Art Museum. Actually saw a little grain on one desert print, but it might have been flies at 20 miles out. :)

The Wescott Home done by FLW. Done between his stints in Tokyo, so has a lot of Japanese influence. Another example of a mad jeeneous who needed someone to bitchslap him occasionally.

Missed seeing Nancy S. as she was doing her thing with the Congesscritter wives, but did have lunch with Mr. Nancy. He has been thumping Boehner regularly on the Select Committee issue, so that seemed to help. Told him we had become pals with Herb M and he countered that he was standing next to Bill C when Ronnie gave the announcement about Star Wars.

Janet - the districts lie fallow, while the Capitol gorges itself

from the VDH link - "The higher the taxes, the more numerous the regulations, the greater the redistribution, so all the more the elite liberal distances himself from those less cool who breathe down his neck, and the less guilty he feels about the growing divide between him and the poor he worries about, but never worries about enough to associate with."

Mother Teresa quote - "Today it is very fashionable to talk about the poor. Unfortunately, it is very unfashionable to talk WITH them."

The paralyzed Rutgers football player is well known in the NY Metro sports scene. His public personna is remarkable, always smiling, always saying he's thankful, and optimistic about his future. Obviously I have no idea what he's like in the flesh, but his reaction to being bumped is consistent with his public personna, confused and hurt, but not angry. I have a sugestion for Christie... get Rutgers to have Rice and this kid speak. That would be a great day for the graduates.

I hate to say it, but a really giant iceberg is just like an ice cube in the ocean with the same effect. They lost a big chunk of one of the Antarctic glaciers last year and so far no ill effects have been reported. But you can bet that chunk will cool the waters around it substantially until it melts. Now I'll bet no NOAA scientist has calculated that into their numbers.

Meanwhile here in drought stricken SoCal, we have a chance of rain today.

Kerry on religion today, Obama on AGW. It really is pathetic. What is more so is that they are spitting in the eye of our democratic institutions and Congress and the courts are letting them get away with it.

MarkO laid out the process for laying the foundation of the basis for the Trial of Red Witch and Gowdy is establishing his intent to act as a judge using the Napoleonic Code, loosely construed, as a guide. The Red Witch's decision to casually discard more than thirty State and CIA permanent government pawns and then shove a few more under the bus to cover up her blunders has resulted in generating sufficient antipathy to assure strong cooperation in convicting her.

The interests of the permanent government will not be furthered by another notorious coward and liar sitting in the Oval Office.

Jim Eagle

NK,

I don't go to the Players because getting their by car is the worst drive in Florida. Its on A1A which is heavily travelled anytime of the day without an additional 125K of people. Parking is an event onto itself.

BTW, TPC Sawgrass is a dog track except for the 3 weeks leading up to the Players and 3 weeks after. Maintenance is terrible and it gets beat up by all the 25 handicappers who think they are playing in the US Open and winning it shooting 130. Our two courses have the same grass and we handle all weather related issues with 1/3 of the personnel and budget.

Best watched on TV.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Yes the politics would work well for Chritie:
"I won't let a vocal group of anti-american academic leftists prevent inspirational AAs such as Condi Rice and one of our own Rutgers football players speak to graduates. These AA heroes are inspirations to all of us, and they express the freedom we believe in."

NK(withnewsoftware)

JiB-- interesting about TPC. Did you watch Beman last night?

Thanks for that Cashill link, TK.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Daddy-- Petraeus? he is guilty of the vanity of middle aged men, but I think him too smart to perjure himself. He's given his closed session testimony to the House and Senate Intel committees, So Gowdy knows what he's testified to.

daddy

Clarice, I love that link you just sent us to over at Insty.

It links to Dick Morris: Here is his column:

Hillary Language On Benghazi Identical To Rhodes Email — 1 1/2 Days Before!

CR
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi rebuffed calls from her party for Democrats to boycott a newly announced Benghazi investigation, saying Tuesday that the so-called select committee should have bipartisan members.

"If this review is to be fair, it must be truly bipartisan," Pelosi said in a written statement.

She went a step further, calling for the committee to be "equally divided between Democrats and Republicans as is done on the House Ethics Committee."

It's unclear whether Republican leaders would agree to that request. Republicans pointed out that despite Pelosi's call for an equally divided panel, the breakdown of a prior select committee on climate change, engineered by the California Democrat, included nine Democrats and six Republicans.

You have to know that Morris is licking his chops at the opportunity to stick a fork deeply into the Hildabeast. He hates her worse than sin...

NK(withnewsoftware)

Yes he does. I accept the William Safire formulation (as amended), BillyC is a compulsive liar, HildaBeast is a deliberate/purposeful liar. The 'vast rightwing conspiracy' is the best example of her purposeful lies. 'What difference does it make at this point' is right up there.

I'd agree to the same proportion of dem members on the committee as dems in the House.

I don't trust Morris. Hell I've had dinner with the guy, but I think he is creepy.

Morris is reptillian, no doubt. He and HildaBeast deserve each other.

CR

Patraeus did lie initially and supported the video story publicly, didn't he?Then he came back after his resignation to "clarify his testimony". Someone with a better memory than mine will undoubted know the facts better.

GMax

OK another big tell. Something is definitely up with the select committee. San Fran Nan says they will participate, but wants equal amount of Democrats and Republicans. Her problem is of course, when she formed a similar committee on Climate Change, she puts 9 Democrats and only 6 Reoublicans on it.

I would tell her to pound sand.

NK @9:19 the professional white lib Dems are throwing Obummer under the bus

What's the evidence for this? Certainly not professional journalists, and he's still raking in dough at fundraisers with rich white financiers.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Petraeus to my recollection gave public testimony regarding the 'talking points', he acknowledged that CIA analysts were aware with the 'video demonstrations in the region' and authorized alluding to that in the CIA reporting to the State Dept; my recollection is also that he did not know who modified the statements at the State dept, when they decided to go with the Benghazi lie. We now know those changes came directly from Ben Rhodes at the WH.I am most interested in his classified testimony about what the CIA did. The CIA was the only group to send armed assistance to the consulate group. His people saved dozens of lives.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Modo's column (we don't need no more speeches) is the most recent example. Prior to that, Dem campaigners telling candidates in competetive districts to campaign on 'REFORMING' ObummerCare. Hagan refusing to appear with Obummer in NC. There are more examples within the last 3 months.

OH MY! Read the Business Insider's take of the PHEW poll I commented upon but yesterday:

The GOP is at an even stronger point than in previous "wave" elections in 1994 and 2010 and looks poised to make major gains — and possibly take control of the U.S. Senate.

According to the poll, out Monday, Republicans have a 47-43 lead on the generic congressional ballot. That's a 10-point swing from October, when Democrats, boosted by GOP blame for the federal government shutdown, held a 6-point lead in the Pew poll.

Overall, Democrats are plagued by the still-sluggish economy, the unpopularity of the Affordable Care Act, and the undesirable views of President Obama. More voters (26%) say their vote will be "against" the president. Only 16% say their vote will be "for" Obama. And by more than a 2-to-1 margin, voters say they want the next president to pursue policies different from the Obama administration's priorities.

As has been seen in other polls showing trouble for Democrats this year, the party is hampered by a lack of enthusiasm. For example, only 31% of Democratic voters say their vote is "for" Obama. In 2010, that number was 47%.

Liars about to get paddled. Can I get an "AMEN"?

Great link Central!

We know we're going to hear a lot of repetitions of Martha Mcallums point here:

Martha M: she (Pelosi) wants this to be an evenly divided select committee, an even number of Democrats and Republicans.

And you know that up to that statement, there have been a lot of calls for Democrats to completely boycott this committee. And there’s going to be be very little credibility if it is full of Republicans, many would say.

And I hope we hear a lot of repetitions of Gowdy's ultimate answer:

Gowdy: ...Every committee of Congress is constituted with more Republicans than Democrats because there are more Republicans than Democrats. And i hasten to add, every committee in the Senate is constituted with more Democrats than Republicans. I mean there are consequences to elections.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Add 'Business Insider' to the professional Libs throwing Obummer under the bus. The narrative now is "Progressivism is great, but Obummer's a sucky incompetent." There'll see a lot more of that from the Clintonistas. They are fighting for their livelihoods.
