Jeff Dobbs

The world has disappointed Obama.

It's worse than that. The world has sinned against Obama, according to Obama's definition of sin as being out of alignment with Obama's values.

Think of all the sins Assad committed with all those crossings of the red lines. Think about how blatantly Putin's been committing sins lately. Modo's recent column? Sagging polling? Glitches in healthcare.gov? And now all the sins Trey Gowdy is about to commit? Egads.

I mean the entire tea party -- it's basically sins all the way down.

Disappointed doesn't even begin to cover it.

SoS Kerry reinstated them, but why were they suspended at all?

NK(withnewsoftware)

State Suspensions: all awkward coverups have obvious inconsistencies. Benghazi is no exception.

jimmyk

I'm very wary of all this premature football-spiking, as it recalls early 2012 when we were all gloating about his big negatives in the polls. Lots can happen between now and November, and Dem operatives (including the MSM) will pull out all the stops. I hope Trey Gowdy's personal and professional life is unassailable, because right now there are people examining it with a microscope.

Narciso,

According to this Alaska Dispatch story from 2 days ago, Congressman Don Young is now saying that we have to defeat Mark Begich, but Don Young refuses to speak the actual name "Mark Begich."

Without saying the words "Mark Begich," Young focused on on the U.S. Senate race at the heart of the 2014 Alaska Republican Convention during a lunch address Saturday as the convention concluded.

The country is under attack from its enemies, Young said, and it is up to the Republican Party to come together as a family to protect the country and defeat somebody but he won't say who.

So what that means is that Begich can use Don Young in his ads specifically saying "Mark Begich has done a great job representing Alaskans", but Begich's Repub opponent won't have an answering soundbite because Don Young refuses to say the name "Mark Begich" in any negative fashion that might be used in an ad, such as "We have to beat Mark Begich".

I'm not making this up.

the talking points ... how about Huma Abedin?

I think the Morris piece is regarding Hillary's comments both before and at the odd Eid al Fitr. Huma was part time but had a role at both state and "consulting" but had returned from her maternity leave by then. She also has a direct line to the MB (which goes to my theory that the video was a "cartoon jihad" bit of propaganda). Given the academic and youth of the Obama Administration it doesn't seem a stretch the political side would grasp at "hate speech" for all their problems.

rich@gmu

rich@gmu

CR

I don't know how the rest of the family hasn't ended up with psych issues by now. The second requirement that DCF has on their reunification plan is that the Pelletier's MUST follow the medical plan put in place by Tufts which is why DCF & BCH took custody in the first place!!!!

How would you know that? It sounds like an assumption.

centralcal

I certainly hope so, Beasts. As someone said earlier, nice to see our side on offense for a change.

James D.

How would you know that? It sounds like an assumption.

After being held prisoner for 15 months, not allowed to see her family, not allowed contact with friends or any other social outlets or even to go to church, and subjected to God only knows what sort of horrific psychiatric treatments, I'd be absolutely shocked if she DIDN'T have significant psychiatric issues.

I imagine that pretty much anyone in that situation would.

NK(withnewsoftware)

RichGMU-- for those of us who have raised a HS teenage daughter, it is not shocking to learn about the need for psych hospital care. And for those of us who sent daughters to all-girl HS, you see it happen to more than one friend, and it's not usually a Leftist fabrication. CR raises the salient issue, Mass now says the family HAVE to follow Tufts' medical plan? didn't Mass transfer the girl from Tufts to BostonChildrens' over the parents' objections?

Beasts of England

Couldn't agree with you more, cc.

jimmyk on iPhone

Maybe, JamesD, but it's crucial to distinguish between a preexisting condition vs one that's a result of her mistreatment by DCF. Even with the latter, I don't like making assumptions. That's what DCF did.

NK(withnewsoftware)

JimmyK-- you're a lucky man, you've never heard of 'reunification' plans for HS girls. They happen when hospitalization occurs for eating disorders, freakouts after boyfriend breakups, or a girl shouting she going to hurt herself. There is always a medical pathology course of treatment as well as pysch 'resocialization.' Many psych professionals believe it is a mistake to quickly send the girl back to the home and school where the events started, parents are oftimes in denial, and claim nothing's wrong with her, so 'send her home'. It 's heartbreaking to watch from the outside.

James D.

jimmyk, I agree completely.

It's just difficult for me to imagine that anyone who has undergone the kidnapping, withholding of proper medical treatment and deliberate torture (let's call it what it is) could come out of it in one piece mentally.

Danube on iPad

I second Jimyk's 12:19 sentiments, but I have great confidence in Gowdy. One of the most encouraging things I've heard him say is that there won't be any speeches--just questions.

NK(withnewsoftware)

One further thing about teenagers hospitalized for psych evalution, the schools, at least the private boarding schools refuse to say word one, I assume public schools are the same. I was asked by an out of state parent to meet with the school 'Head Mistress' about their daughter being taken from the school in an ambulance to an unspecified hospital, in a THIRD STATE. the woman took my call only to tell me to get lost, the matter was strictly between the parent and the hospital, the school had nothing to say-- to anyone-- until a the school received a plan from the hospital after her discharge. I found the whole thing byzantine and shocking. Unfortunately, it's rather common... at least at fancy pants boarding schools.

Beasts of England

Don't know if this has been covered up-thread, but I saw it elsewhere on the webz and, surprisingly, in our local leftist rag: predictions that 90% of employers with more than 50 employees will jettison them to the insurance exchange.

That explains a few things, of course: why Teh JEF delayed the implementation until after the election, and why the DOW is screeching towards the stratosphere.

That being said, with as few expletives as possible, this is just more proof of Obama's flat-out war on the white middle class. Wait until a hundred million Americans endure this still non-functioning web disaster. Wait until they see their premiums not only increase significantly, but also how they feel when it comes out of their own pockets. And that the premiums won't be pre-tax dollars, either.

Screw impeachment, screw convicted by the Senate; no way. That shit is insufficient. This is simply treason. An evil, illegal attack on middle America. I'm doing my very best to contain my rage, but that doesn't mean it isn't there and it doesn't mean I don't care. I do.

We have to legally destroy this bastard. At any cost. Those who don't share my rage today are welcome to check back after employed America gets their turn in the barrel. It will and should be ugly. As with many things, I hope I'm wrong. As with most, I'm probably not. Eat shit, BHO.

NK(withnewsoftware)

BoE-- I think that story was reported in yesterday's USA Today.

Jim Eagle

Are we all forgetting Cheryl Mills? Mentioned almost as much as ValJar.

Have you considered that this Ben Rhodes email being revealed in a SoS FOIA and not a WH FOIA is a purposefull diversion away from Donilon, ValJar and Cheryl Mills?

The reason for Gowdy's comment about IT guys is that Issa's committee staff are convinced that they have been jerked around on documentation because of mis-directed electronic searches for documentation. Remember in Washington the thing more valuable than money is information.

lyle

I hear you, Beasts. And I yield to no one in my contempt for the fraud in the WH but...it wasn't just him. It was his entire party lining up to orgasm over a prog wet dream that had been building for 50+ years. And he had the perfect little fascist field marshalls in the personae of Reid and Pelosi. Think "orgasm" is too gross? Look again at the picture of Pelosi with that effing gavel walking outside after the bill was signed and tell me I'm wrong.

jimmyk

I don't doubt all that, NK@2:46 (and I'm aware of some it, not first-hand). But that doesn't justify it, or mean there aren't abuses. The pendulum has swung too far in favor of state intrusion into family decisions. I'd rather err on the side of the family unless there is real evidence of abuse or neglect. So seeing assumptions made on no basis whatsoever presses buttons with me.

Mrs K tells the story of a family who graciously had a stranger at their home for dinner. This guest witnessed the father shouting or perhaps losing his temper, nothing violent. She informed the authorities, and the family had to put up with months of scrutiny and intrusions to prove themselves innocent, since they were presumed guilty.

fdcol63

The people running the gov't now know full well that the shit WILL hit the fan.

That's why they've been militarizing civilian law enforcement agencies, and it's why Federal agencies like the Post Office, IRS, EPA, et al have bought gazillions of rounds of ammo.

It's also why Obama has been purging the military leadership and replacing critical leaders with people he can count on to crack down on civilians.

The economic house of cards will fall, and things are gonna get really nasty, really fast when it does.

Porchlight

The CIA was the only group to send armed assistance to the consulate group. His people saved dozens of lives.

Actually I don't think that's true, NK. Woods and Doherty were ordered to stay at the CIA annex but they defied orders and went to help anyway.

That's where my spidey sense tingles.

CIA wasn't sending help? Why not? It's as if it was supposed to be over quickly and Woods and Doherty got in the way of that plan. Maybe that's why everyone said we couldn't get there in time - because it wasn't supposed to last that long. Maybe there's something to the kidnapping-gone-wrong theory.

More proof these futurist social planners have caused so much expensive misery because they do see the world as a fixed pie. Plus they really hated the Cold War as an impediment to their view that Marx had it right about redistribution once a certain level of technology was in place.

NK(withnewsoftware)

Porch-- CIA GRS sent 2 groups to Benghazi. Woods was in the first group, that got the embassy staff to the 'safe house; Doherty came in a second group from Tripoli by air and arrived about 100am local time. Doherty and Woods were on the roof of the safe house defending the staff when they were killed. here's a CIA timeline quote and news story link:
•1:15 a.m.: CIA reinforcements arrive on a 45-minute flight from Tripoli in a plane they've hastily chartered. The Tripoli team includes four GRS security officers, a CIA case officer and two U.S. military personnel who are on loan to the agency. They don't leave Benghazi airport until 4:30. The delay is caused by negotiations with Libyan authorities over permission to leave the airport, obtaining vehicles, and the need to frame a clear mission plan. The first idea is to go to a Benghazi hospital to recover Stevens, who they correctly suspect is already dead. But the hospital is surrounded by the al-Qaida-linked Ansar al-Shariah militia that mounted the consulate attack.

•5:04: The team from Tripoli arrives at the CIA base. Glen Doherty, one of the GRS men from Tripoli, goes to the roof and joins Woods in firing positions.

The problem with that CIA timeline Ignatius reports on is that none, zero, zilch of the CIA employees or contractors there at the time or participated in the initial rescue mission have ever testified to Congress. A David Petraeus and Mike Morrell CIA now under John Brennan doesn't carry much credibility with me or the Issa committee nor should it when you see how the were politicized from hour one.

Gowdy needs to call the survivors and put them under oath. Lets see how tht story holds up then.

NK(withnewsoftware)

personally I strongly agree, Repubs should NOT nominate a Senator in '16. repubs should run against DC and the out of control Federal Government, there are a number of good repub governors and college presidents who can do that successfully-- a sentor would have little credibility attacking DC.

This account from Oct 2012 confirms that the CIA rescue effort was against orders:

Remember Petraeus' weasel words - no stand down orders came from CIA. But they could have come from elsewhere.
