Doesn't the bungled ouster of Jill Abrahmson at the NY Times make their inevitable endorsement of Hillarity in 2016 a bit awkward?
Back in 2008 the editors pretended that "firstness" didn't matter when they sparked a newsroom revolt by going for the NY state Senator rather than Barack. What are the editors going to pretend in 2016 - that they are all in favor of pushy broads as long as they aren't at the Times?
They'll think of something.

Well, Rich, if you want to make money to bannk in the field of digital signal processiing look to the advent of GSM-R technology here in America. [Global System for Mobile Communications - Railroad] It is the comms component of a Rail Traffic Management System like ERTMS in europe and integrates with Rail Traffic Control Systems.
There should be some pretty good entry positions with the rolling stock vendors, infrastructure operators and component providers.

A pal in Leesburg ran the Comms committee for a couple decades and the RR guys never saluted it. The Chinese are paying lip service, but I haven't seen any build out. (Plus that would be all Huawei.)
For my own selfish needs, I would love to have it. Wayside comms is a real hash up when you need it along 150k miles of RoW. BNSF's exploitation of MeteorCom was a poor start with about the BW of a string and two cans.
