Hillary Clinton is not a fan of free thought, free expression, or the Second Amendment. And if guns actually "terrorize" Americans then surely the phrase "trigger warning" merits a trigger warning.

On that U Arkansas/Free Beacon story, U of A claims that it was only because Continetti violated some kind of agreement about publishing library materials. Possibly, but who knows whether they enforce these things uniformly, or they are just an convenient excuse in this case.

C) how does he shutter them?
I think if he made such an attempt, although it would certainly fail immediately, it might very well result in his impeachment.

"I guess it is a coincidence that major media outlets don't publish disfavored topics while others point out there may be a trashing of the Constitution."
Some major outlets only grudgingly publish topics unfavorable to Democrats because they themselves are biased in favor of Democrats, as they have been for fifty or more years. That's not a coincidence, and it's not brought about by any threat of a shutdown.

al-Maliki has been terrorizing the Sunnis and Kurds and other minorities. His thugs have been beating up opposition leaders and one of his VP's fled the country because of trumped up murder charges. he is a bad, bad man.
Obama and his people antagonized the Iraqis, especially the moderates with their support of al-Maliki. al-Maliki is an Iranian tool who has allowed Iraqi airspace to be used by the Iranians to rearm Assad's forces. Dempsey is, as far as I am concerned part of the inner circle as is Hagel.
The way they are going, we are going to want to indict the whole gang of them.

We watched Obama, Clinton, Biden, etc. directly attack the First Amendment because the youtube video was unconscionable. They spent $75,000 on a media campaign in Pakistan attacking the First Amendment.
Perhaps it was all a coincidence that the excuse to attack the First Amendment just presented itself. You know, just like the Fast and Furious gunwalking just happened to result in the use of US guns in Mexican crimes which coincidentally could be used as an excuse to attack the Second Amendment.

Well, I was only being slightly facetious, but...
A) it wouldn't make dent
"Oh, and take heed, the rest of you wing-nuts, or you'll be next," wouldn't need to be stated explicitly.
B) Mandatory injunctions would be issued by sundown requiring the restoration of service.
By which judge? Somebody in DC or NY? He only needs one more SC justice to own the justice system.
C) how does he shutter them?
I don't know how or if this could be done to a public company, but they can certainly shut down a private business with the right accusation. I've seen them come into a bar, tell the bartenders to open the cash registers and get out from behind the bar, tell the patrons to get out, and shut the place down with IRS-labeled tape on the doors and windows.
I think if he made such an attempt, although it would certainly fail immediately, it might very well result in his impeachment.

Would think that Perry would have the authority to send his state law enforcement resources where ever he thought they were needed.
Doubt that Perry would want to do such a thing but that crisis looks to be getting worse (yeah ... measles, tb, and who knows what else).
National Guard mobilization >>>the president would be allowed to employ the Armed Forces and the National Guard to restore public order in certain situations, namely in times of “natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident or other condition.” The president would be required to notify Congress within 14 days of exercising such authority.<<<

from Extraneus's 6:53 link -
"“Many of the liberal sites accessible to the student fell into the ‘not rated’ category, which was unblocked while many of the conservative sites were in the ‘political/advocacy group’ category which is accessible to teachers but not to students,” he said in a written statement."
And THAT is the trouble with THIS - http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/federal_government/irs-to-propose-specific-limits-on-nonprofits-political-activities/2014/06/18/d362ecaa-f728-11e3-a606-946fd632f9f1_story.html
Who gets to define "political activities"? Will "social justice" be a political activity?...or "green"?...how 'bout abortion?
FTA - "Campaign-finance watchdogs have complained that a growing number of nonprofits are using “dark money” to influence elections, ..."
Who are these campaign-finance watchdogs? Sure, they call themselves non-partisan, but are they? Why is some money "dark money", but some isn't?
FTA - "Democracy 21, a campaign finance group that has pushed for stricter guidelines, said the IRS is moving in the right direction."
Really? Who is Democracy 21?...& are donations to that group considered "dark money"?
Missing from the WaPo article are quotes from the groups that were targeted by the IRS. Do the opinions of those groups of American citizens count less than the opinions of big liberal advocacy organizations? See...that is the trouble right there. Big organizations want to silence regular Americans. Heaven forbid we citizens finally organize & speak up! Can't have that....
So we get "defined" & "categorized" out of politics.

Would people take up arms if they found a way to shut down Fox News?
I don't think people as a whole would take up arms in this day and age for almost any reason or any circumstance.
With the massive networks of tracking and screening and recording and monitoring and all the rest that is currently available to our "Big Brother" Government and it's Agencies, any variety of "taking up arms in mass" would IMHO be a non-starter.
Instead I would envision either isolated individuals, or rather quite small groups of individuals, deciding independently how to target and execute select Public Officials for maximum effect, and designed to make other individuals that are allied politically and/or share similar mindsets to the the executed individuals, reconsider their actions in light of the understanding that they may be next.
That I would see as a much more likely example of taking up arms in this country. I also think such examples would independently breed copycats, somewhat like our meme of "low level IRS bureaucrats acting in certain ways without having to be told because of their collective mindset."
The motivation of these individuals would be anger, but the objective would be to sow such fear in the mindset of the individuals perceived as part of the perceived corruption or behavior that their behavior would change. I also suspect that after a few of these incidents the Govt would legally counterattack with such a huge and over the top anti-Second Amendment Campaign that they would unwittingly breed more of these random committed individuals. As for where or whether the cycle would end, beats me.
Unfortunately, with the daily revelations we are seeing with the Fed's abdication of their responsibility to maintain the border, the insulting 'in your face' "we lost the e-mails", and all the rest, it is not far fetched to assume that some on the side of Big Govt are not simply tone deaf, but are actively hoping for such a "taking up arms" excuse to implement an anti-Second Amendment scenario.
That I see as the most likely way that "taking Up Arms" would occur in this country.

Non profits are largely a scam, should be eliminated and are an improper attempt by the Federal government to influence to whom and to what we give our charitable donations.
The IRS already admits religious institutions are exempt from taxation as a matter of law regardless of whether they apply for non profit status. That's as it should be because of the 1st amendment.
Let the rest survive on how much people value giving to them not the worth of the tax deduction.

Our guide stopped us at a spot that (from memory) had one on the road and one on the wall. Which lead the rather frustrated tour host (? -- hard to explain, he was the inspiration for the tour, getting paid to be part of it, but still just as much a tourist as the rest of us) to make a remark about "all in all, it's just another d!ck in the wall".
Best part of Pompei, IMHO, was the Villa of Mysteries. The brothel was, despite being one of the most intact buildings in the town, not all that interesting. Mainly because there was no time to comprehend what you were seeing -- the crowds were Disney-during-Spring-Break packed around it, and if you stopped you'd get run over.
Meanwhile, behind the little theater, there's an ally with original graffiti covering the walls. I remember a gladiator, and an incredible sailing ship -- rigging and all -- scratched into the concrete. THAT was empty.

Fully agree, Rob. Amazing murals with marvelous colors.
I love going to various small museums and seeing the surviving examples of Roman tomb paintings; the practice of painting the face of the deceased realistically on a wooden board, slid into the tomb wrappings to cover the face. Some are quite rustic and clumsy, but the best are wonderful representations, springing with life and wit and vitality of technique, and it reminds me of how much marvelous stuff we must have lost over the centuries with the collapse of civilization.

Perhaps this why Charlie Cook is so sanguine. A new NPR poll of battleground states :
Obama approval? 38% with 58% disapprove.
Generic ballot, which usually does not favor Republicans? Why Republicans are +3. Plus EIGHT with independents.
That would be +10 seats in the Senate for those of you keeping score at home. And it does not include Oregon which is a possible pick up as well.

Posted by: daddy | June 19, 2014 at 08:15 PM
Remember its a NPR poll. Who knows exactly how bad it really is, but NPR is never an honest broker. To be up + 8 with independents and only be up +3 overall, means they are expecting more than +5 Democrats to show at the polls. I say more, because the Democrats show more defections than Republicans. I would say that its more likely that D = R in many of these states, and in more than a couple, Rs will be greater than the Ds.

To be sure, there are no unthinkable thoughts; only undoable actions. Sometimes, however, it is prudent to hold one’s counsel and exercise when and where one discusses thinkable thoughts that are undoable actions.
Beyond that, however, progs want control of the unthinkable thoughts of others because, only they are pure enough to interpret what is unthinkable and not be tainted by it.

BTW I have looked at the demographics that NPR released on that poll. Something does not compute. The self ID question shows a R + 1 self ID. But if Indies are + 8 and Republicans out populate Democrats and more Democrats are saying they will vote for Republicans than vice versa, the only way I can think to get only + 3 in the generic ballot question is that the self ID raw count was normed to + 5 D or more.
Given that states involved I think that would be insane. They don't show their work fully so I am guessing a little bit here, but would welcome another set of eyes and any other plausible explanation.

"And this is why I think we'll see a major push for some incident over the next few months."
" I truly expect some ugly escalation of really bad stuff."
I believe the illusions fomented by the Kendonesian Commie far exceed his ability to even pick his nose without clear instructions from an organ grinder. He feeds the febrile half witted 13%ers with his implied threats but he's not going to send the Obama Freeshit Army anywhere. The biggest concentrations are in the plantation sewers of Blue Hells to begin with and absolutely nobody except residents cares what happens to a Blue Hell.

That's not bulked up, Sue. That's just my natural body in my young man/middle aged man pics that were photoshopped to make it look like one pic of two men. What I can't figure out is why is the pic appearing on your JOM web page? :-))

"By which judge?"
Damn near any federal district judge now sitting in America, and each and every circuit court of appeal. Slam dunk. No matter by whom appointed.

Rick B -- probably. I realize I'm being a bit paranoid.
But the recent outbreak of Vibrant Urban Youth Culture in Louisville was tied to a couple of Chicago gang members who moved there. The Chicago gangs are as much a part of the city's government as the snow plows. I may be poaching on Threadkiller's territory here, but I can easily see Obama's allies sending out lieutenants to stir up problems when he needs them to.
